Fax is not working on H323

Hello All,
I have an issue with fax, it is connected to an fxs port on my h323 gateway. When a call comes from PRI and get connected to fax after I hear the fax tone the fax drops. IOS is Version 15.0(1)M4, and DSP is PVDM3.
My analysis:
The external calls hit gateway and it matches the pots dialpeer where my fax connected to. From the "debug voip vtsp all", I see Primary Fax Protocol=CISCO_FAX_RELAY, which is not enabled and we are using T38 relay and modem passthrough method for faxing. I believe PVDM3 does not work with Cisco Relay and couldn't allocate any dsp resources for the call and it drops. But still I wonder how gateway takes cisco relay.
Config:

I have converted the port to MGCP and found its working, while faxing I see vtsp outputs

Can some one kindly suggest how to make it work on H323, also how we can force disabling cisco fax relay?

As I mentioned earlier, we are using MGCP for that particular fax port and the gateway we use as H323.
Even I'm not pretty sure about using mixed protocol, I believe this gateway gonna used to support call center calls. SInce MGCP is easy for configs they might have confiugred only the port as MGCP endpoint.
Now its not working with both the cases, not in mgcp as well as fallback mode. Can you reveiw the debugs and see why I have to remove "modem passthrough" command from voice service voip section which of our standard config and works well with all other gateway of ours. Please help here.

  • Switch from Comcast back to AT&T - Now Fax is not working on my HP Officejet J5700 All-in-one

    To HP Support:
My home phone was with Comcast.  My fax was working fine.  I have since switched my home phone to AT&T and now my fax is not working.
Question - what do I need to do to get my fax to work like it did previously?
    Please advise and thank you.

Try first contact AT&T, there might be something they need to do. Nowadays, phone companies provide very different services, on some lines, fax just don't work. Here is an HP support page with some info that might be helpful.http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00302247&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

  • FAX button not working on HP Connect site for HP Officejet All-in-One 4630

I can send a fax using the printer, but cannot send a fax from the computer using the HP Connect page. It was working before. I can use fax set up wizard, manage fax settings but not send a fax button. It stopped working all of a sudden. EHW

    Hi EHW,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I see you are able to send a fax from the front panel of your HP Officejet 4630, but when you attempt to use the HP Printer Assistant to send a fax the fax option is now greyed out.
I would first like you to make sure the printer's Firmware is up to date, please click on the link below to get started:
HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update
Once you have updated the Firmware, try and open up the HP Printer Assistant, are you now able to choose the Fax option?
If not, continue here and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.
Are you able to fax from the HP Printer Assistant, if you still have problems leave me with the following information:
    1. What is your current Operating system, Windows or Mac and which version?
    2. How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?
    3. Have you made any changes or updates to the computer?
Please let me know the results, I will watch for your reply.

  • Apple External Modem FAX Does Not work in 64bit mode

Apple needs to update its Fax Driver to 64bit mode. Since upgrading to the i7 in 10.6.6, the system boots in 64bit mode which is great! Except i can't fax anymore from my MacBook. Research has shown that it only works in 32bit mode. I do not want to boot in 32 at this point. Anybody know of any other solutions, external fax modems or 64bit drivers or software that will work with the Apple External modem?

I am having similar issue.  I can't order a new McBook Pro until I know I can fax directly from it ... its essential for me.  I'm shocked no one as addressed your concern.  Is Apple so arrogant when it comes to their business customers that they abandon fax/telephony technology with out a fall back position or warning to users?
I got used to Microsoft arrogance; but I was hoping more user concern from Apple.

  • Caller ID not working on H323 Gateway

    Hi,
I have a CCM Version 4.1.3 set-up to cater for 200 phones, I have a VG gateway in one of the sites that uses an FXO card for local calls, this VG is set-up as an H323 gateway, however calls coming throguh the PSTN line onto the FXO card and then onto an IP phone are not displaying Caller ID.
Just wondering if anyone has seen this before, I know that on an MGCP gateway the FXO cards don't support Caller-ID but we have it set-up as H323.
    Thanks
    Paul

Funny, this is a question straight from one of the CCVP tests, although I won't say which one.
Try "caller-id enable" in global mode and "station-id name" on the voice-port.

  • Faxing does not work. Says it's waiting for the driver to connect.

I set up the bluetooth fax printer but when I click to send the fax, it says that it's waiting for the driver to connect.
    Any ideas?

If you don't have a land line you can't fax without a system like eFax which uses e-mail to send faxes to a phone number. If you have a land line, you must tie up the land line to connect to another phone number to Fax to it.
You can probably also fax over VOIP based lines, but not all have a strong enough signal for faxing. Check with your VOIP carrier if you have one if Faxes are supported. Regardless, the Fax capability of any multifunction printer or scanner is only operable through an actual phone line. VOIP offers phone line to internet capability.

  • T.37 offramp fax not working

    Hi,
I have implemented onramp and offramp for my customer. Onramp fax is working fine but the offramp fax is not working. When we test with facsBridge T37 we do not see fax coming on CME router.
    Router configuration is
    Model: 2911
    IOS: 15.4(2)T
I have enabled the mta and foip debugs but no logs are generated. But when I run the wireshark debugs on laptop on which facsBridge application is running, I see acknowledgement from router. But Microsoft fax application which uses facsBridge as modem do the retransmission 2-3 times and then give fatal error.
I am not sure if issue is with config or i am hitting bug. Please guide me how to resolve this issue.

  • Since installing Mt. lion our FAX no longer works

We have a Canon Pixma MX860 All in One which has worked like a charm for printing, scanning and faxing until installing Mt. lion.  Now the outgoing FAX does not work.  We have two phone lines and one is a dedicated fax line with a distinctive ring sound.  When we now try to FAX, everything starts out fine.  There is a ring and then a fax noise, but it interrupts immediately thereafter before a connection is made.  We then get a printed report, Incomplete Transmission and a result of NG.

As sig has mentioned, the fax component of the MX860 is totally independent of the Mac. Canon does not make a fax driver for the MX series for OS X, so the failure of the machine to send is a conincidence, not a result of upgrading to Mtn Lion.
With regards to the fax issue, have you still been able to receive faxes?
And for the sending of faxes, are you getting the same NG result to all destinations?

  • Can't Send FAX / FAX not working

    Dear Techies,
I am facing a horrible problem in sending FAX. In our company, our directors are using MAC Book Air & Mac Book. I have a MAC Book too (i am a newbie to MAC), which they had given me for testing purpose, so that i should clear all their problems in MAC. so its actually a tough thing...
Now, they are not able to send FAX from these machines. They asked me to provide them the solution, and i tried in and out in my MAC Book, But no way... I googled a lot, i found many of the discussions based on this issue, but i didnt saw any working solution for it. Now its the 3rd day for me to sit with this issue. Hope someone will be here to help me. Let me give you the details...
Hardware: MAC book and Mac Book Air
OS: MAC OS X Version 10.4.10
CPU: 2.16 Ghz Intel Core Duo
    Mem: 2 GB 667Mhz DDR2
    MODEM: External Apple USB modem
    Scenario 1:
I tried sending the fax from safari (File--> Print--> Fax PDF), then specified our internal FAX number, also Dialing prefix as 9(bcoz i am behind a EPABX, so 9 to get dial tone)
To: 63452743 (Fax number, not original)
    Dialing Prefix: 9
    Dialing: Tone (selected)
    Sound: on (selected)
Wait for dial tone before dialing: selected
    then i clicked "FAX"
    but the result was; FAILURE...
    Result 1:
    It will dial, and stands like connected, while showing a progress bar "Faxing" in the external modem window. after around 3 minutes, it stops... and shows the following message in the external modem window;
    "hold until 05:01 p.m."
again it will try at that specified time, and the result is same.
    Scenario2:
    I tried with fax command;
    fax send 9-66728437 test-file.001
    and i tried
    fax send 966728437 test-file.001
    Result2:
    It will also do the same like above and finally gives up, and then it will write a log as the following;
    command;
    abcs-computer:~ kmr$ sudo fax send 9-66766766 test-file.001

So thats all about all my trials and result.... Please help me to get out of this bad situation...
NOTE: I had changed the original FAX number from this post to different numbers...
    Thats all...
    Thanks in Advance...
and really awaiting for your valuable comments.

First of all, really thanking you 3 for your posts. i dont need to do a internet faxing. The safari, which i mentioned, in the scenario is an example. My director might need to send FAX from doc files, html files, mails, pdf files etc.
So i need a solution to do the FAX through FAX pdf, which is available through printing.
Then regarding the analog vs digital PBX, here we use analog and digital PBX. But i am trying through the analog line. Still, today i went to the telephone people and asked to give me an direct line to check this out. Then i tried from it.
Fax command and faxing through graphical (fax pdf) gives the same error. But efax command showed a different kind of error message which i will post it here... So i think i will have to work on it... so i requested the telecommunication people to give me an direct line to my table for 2-3 days, so that i could run many test on it... but still i am waiting for their confirmation.
Anyway pls have a look at this message, and put forward ur suggestions.
NOTE: i forgot to notify in the previous post that, the main error point in the log files is "NO CARRIER"

  • I think the last update did not work, and now I cannot open jpeg attachments with windows picture and fax viewer, it is not listed in the tools/options drop dow

I don't believe the last Thunderbird update worked, there was a very fast error message. But since then I cannot open jpeg attachments in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. If I go to Tools, then options, the jpeg line is grayed out, and the drop down menu does not show Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. The windows picture and fax viewer still works on my computer, but not for opening attachments.

I did as you said - deleted the entry for jpeg, but when I tried to open one there is not an option for Picture and Fax Viewer in the drop down, and it can't be found by browsing. It's just not there anywhere even though I can see pics in it except in email attachments.

  • Umlauts are not working in faxes

    Hello,
I´m using a smartform to create a customer letter. Normally, I´m converting the output-otf to PDF and send it as attachement by email.
But in one case, I have to send the smartform output-otf as fax. For that I have used the function "CONVERT_OTF_AND_FAX".
Generally, it´s working. but in the fax, the umlauts are not working! In my PDF´s of the same smartform, I can see all umlauts correct!
Does anybody know how to solve that problem?
    Regards Michael

    Nobody has an idea?
Hmmm, I have to fix that problem tomorrow and don´t know what to do! Maybe it is something like a codepage problem with the fax-server?
I don´t think, that I have to set any special parameter when I call the CONVERT_OTF_AND_FAX function.
The strange thing is, when I use the same table with otf data and convert it to PDF, it´s working with all country specific special characters...
    Thank you for Your help!
    Regards Michael

  • Telephone will not work after installing fax wizard

I have  a new HP Office Pro 8615.   After I installed the fax wizard, my telephone quit receiving or sending calls.  The only incoming call will ring on the fax.  Can I uninstall the fax, as I do not need it?

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that your telephone will not work after installing fax wizard, for your HP Officejet Pro 8615. I am happy to help!  What is the Operating System you are using? Windows or Mac? What version? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos. If you do not need the fax, all you should have to do is unplug the phone cable from the back of the printer. That will prevent the printer from using the fax function.  If your phone continues not to work, I would consider contacting your phone provider.  Thank you for posting!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”
