well i have even found the solution for the same.
SFTP adapter as such does not have FCC functionality.
we have to use SAP Modules for performing FCC in SFTP adapter.
for complex conversions (more than 3 levels) we can use BIC tool and then deploy the module in our adapter.

When i tested the scenario and monitored it using MDT in CC monitoring tool its giving me below mentioned error.
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://myurlname/mdt/me...
However if i change the occurence of DATA as some specific value for eg 4 instead of * it works fine.
Kindly help me in solving this problem.

Sender FCC with unbounded RecordSet Structure produces Empty File

Hi Experts,
My scenario is File (FTP) to IDoc, using FCC on the sender.
The source file is a flat file representation of the IDoc e.g. with the segment names preceeding each record row.
FCC parameters are as follows:
RecordSet Name: Z1RECORDSETNAME
RecordSet Structure: EDI_DC,1,E1TPDLH,1,Z1TPI2H,1,E1TPACC,E1TPTRM,,E1EDT13,,E1TPDIH,1,Z1TPI2HD,1,E1TPNOT,*
RecordSet Sequence: Variable OR Ascending
.fieldFixedLengths
.fieldNames
.keyFieldValue
.endSeparator
.keyFieldInStructure
above parameters are used in all segments, except in E1TPNOT where ignoreRecordsetName is added
My issue is when the test file contains more than 1 value for the unbounded segments E1TPTRM, E1EDT13 (e.g. 3 row values for E1TPTRM and 2 row values for E1EDT13) the Content Conversion succesfully finishes but produces an Empty File (size = 0)
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Am i missing something in the parameters to be able to support the current file structure?

I've tried to edit the test file to have only 1 record value for the unbounded segments and it is succesfull and does not produce an empty file.

Try giving

I got it, i guess even you have given the astrix after E1TPTRM and E1EDT13 and it changed to bold.

FCC with ASCII and UTF-8 encoding issue

I have File to IDoc scenario and I am doing FCC which has Japanese chars. (PO with HEADER,1,ITEMS,*)
I have specified UTF-8 encoding in file adapter to processed the file.
Earlier, my source file was in ASCII format which had junk chars; my file was picked and Idoc posted had junk chars.
Then I used UTF-8 encoding for my source file to correct this issue. XI showed proper Japanese chars but this time Header part is missing.
Do I have to specify encoding in "module" for File adapter?

ISO encoding didn't work.
My source file will be in UTF-8 format.
There is one correction. It is ANSI encoding, not ASCII as in the subject.
I still have this issue when my document offset is 0.
I tried to play around with FCC and found this odd thing.
When first line of my input file is blank....and I omit reading the first line with offset 1, then file is read in its entirety.
Again, when I remove this blank line and the file starts with Header and with offset 0 in File adapter, then again my Header part is missing.
What to do?

Note that the maximum nesting level that is supported in FCC is as below;

PI 7.11 - FCC Receiver Adapter

Hi
I've got a simple xml which i have to convert in a fixed length text file. Is it possible to convert it using FCC with following structure:

I did this conversion already with PI 7.0, but i removed the <data> element to get a simpler substructure. Is it also possible without removing this?

Hi,
Are you looking for a content conversion at teh Receiver adapter or the sender adapter?
If you have defined teh structure in ur Data type as u have mentioned then don't remove anything because ur source file would be containing the following structure itself.
If you are getting the XML structure at source
<root>
   <data>
      <record>
               <item1>
               <item2>
      </record>
   </data>
</root>
the follow the same structure at the receiver side as well. If u want to delete the data node at teh receiver side then delete at teh source side FCC as well.

Problem with fixedlenthgs in receiver file adapter

HI,
I am doing XML to flat file scenario and using mutli mapping concept without BPM.
in the receiver file adapter I am using FCC with fixedlengths,then it generated just 3 output files out of nearly 100 source files.the errored one are succcessful in the SXMB_MONI and failing in RWB-->Message moni with waiting status and MDT says that XI_J2EE_ADAPTER_FILE ,Error Code PROCESSING_ERROR .
i tried in SDN and then found something like enable the disablesecurity check box in variable substitution parameters ,then I got 4 files out.
these are my FCC params for all structures:
struc1.fieldFixedLengths
struc1.fixedLengthTooShortHandling
struc1.endSeparator
and I tried with fieldSeparator then it gives successfully all output files.
so,where is the problem?I didnt understand?
any suggestion.

I felt the same way,but assumed that ,in that way fixedlenghths wont work.
in my target structure most of the fields have 0-1 occurences ,and even in the source structure too.so,I think it might be the reason.Then I have to make all my about 60fields 1-1 madatory and using mapWithDefaultValue function, as my sources are optional.
you think it will work just using the "mapWithDefaultValue" function without changing my occurences to 1-1 in the target structure(mandatory)?infact I can try but ,cos of pain for changing like 60 fields....:) and even dont know which fields are causing the problem,so that we can apply "mapWithDefaultValue" function only on those fields.

Key Field Value in FCC

I have a scenario in PI, where I have 1 Header, n Data Records and 1 Trailer in the source file. This data is coming in CSV format.
I am using FCC to convert CSV into XML.
In the FCC, I have used keyFieldValue parameter. For the Header Record, the Key Field Value is constant "H"; for Trailer Record the key field value is constant "T".
However for Data Record, the key field value is not constant. The first character of Key field of Data Record will always be "D", but rest of the Alphabets can change.
Sample File:
"H","3.04",22/10/2009,16:31:12
"D2S",21/10/2009,20:00:26,"20044",00666,"S",1
"D2S",22/10/2009,14:26:20,"20044",00668,"S",1
"D0S",22/10/2009,08:33:34,"00044",04165,"S",1
"D0S",22/10/2009,11:59:59,"00044",04166,"S",1
"T",1393.27,1393.27,8
Here, first line is Header Line (Key Field Value "H"), Last Line is Trailer Line (Key Field Value "T") and all lines in between Header and Trailer are Data Records (Key Field Value starts with "D). I need to convert this file into XML.
I have no clue, if this can be converted into XML through FCC.

Write a simple module. The module will do a replace of the Dxx fields to D (you can use simple regex function for this)
After the module, use the messagetransformbean to do the FCC for you.
The module might sound complex, but trust me its a simple logic you need to implement and you can easily do the FCC with the messagetransformbean

How to add the new line in reciever FCC

I have my reciever FCC with me, but I just need to add one more additional line or you can say seprate the first line.
So how to add extra or new line in the current structure?

Hi Rahul,
You can achieve this by endseperatot "nl"
If record set structure is * means fine, you just add second line field names by using end separator "nl".
If you added first line names in recordsetstructure add second line names as well and remaining same use end separator.
Example (below file is having two lines):
<NameA>
name,address,id
empid,sal,region
<NameA/>
your FCC will be (according to your requirement the below 3 fileds will be use full).
Recordsetstructure - *
NameA.fieldvalues - name,address,id
NameA.endseperator - nl
NameA.fieldvalues - empid,sal,region

First line not coming when FCC is used

Dear All,
I am using FCC on sender side and the input file is in UTF-8 format....
i am using FCC with key fields on the sender file adapter...
now as the UTF-8 file was having control characters at start the keyfield was not matching the start of file and hence the first line of data was not coming in moni..
i got an answer to this query yesterday where Stefan Grube and Volker replied saying that some of the editors like notepad and word add control chars at start in UTF-8 files and hence UTF-8 files should be created only using editors like TEXTPAD .....
but the problem is that the file would always have control chars at start.. what are the ways of removing it ?
i am thinking of an adapter module at the sender side...

Hi,
I faced this kind of problem previously.
Have used SynTextEditor in which the hidden/special/control chars are clearly visible, delete those chars and use for input.
Alternatively, you can save the file in UTF8 format in textpad and use as input.

How to Ignore that Header Line coming with actual data...
Like Employeeid , Name , Deptid
So this Employeeid , Name , Deptid is also coming as Data.

Hey. Really sorry for late answer. i got same model (but i7 , r7 m265 )
For the fan noise ; check out gpu and cpu temperatures . clean the fan dust with power manager program. and update drivers.
for the battery , %1 wear is nothing . only affects 1-2 mins . battery has internal smbus battery fuel gauge and it automatically calibrates battery full charge capacity. but you can manual calibrate fcc with power manager. we are very lucky because on some hp ,samsung etc laptops , battery comes with %10 wearage (like my old laptop).
you post this message 6 months ago. if your battery wear is >%15 now , send battery to service. they will replace a new battery. if battery wear <%10 , your battery is normal
