FCP X will import into separate clips every time it detects a scene change (as when you stopped and started recording in the camera). There is no option to avoid this, as far as I known.
You may try importing from camera using Quicktime Player X and then bringing the imported file into FCP X.

I need to capture some footage from Capture Canon Legria HF R26 using Adobe Premiere pro cs5.
I have a usb cable with the camera. I would like ot know if captirng via usb is a good option or if there are other better options .
Cheers mPremiere can not 'capture' footage from any source using a USB connection.
Capture from tape into Premiere requires a firewire connection (DV & HDV).
For your camera, you should use the USB connection to copy the media files
from the camera to your hard drive and then 'import' the footage into Premiere. -
Abnormalities with my Macbook Pro. Any solutions?
I bought my 1.83 gHz Macbook pro 15.4 in May of '06. I've loved the computer but its been acting really wierd, especially recently. The first thing was that it refused to record audio into Logic pro 7. No matter how long I spent trying to get my portable studio to work, it just wouldn't do it even though other people using my exact set up have had good results. Recently though it has just started to turn itself off for no reason as I use it! There is no indication, no error messages, just one second it's on and the next second its off. After one such incident I opened Camino and it said that my bookmarks were no longer readable, so now I lost bookmarks... Anyways, this just happened a few minutes ago and when I turned it back on, the fan was going at full speed and refused to shut off. I tried restarting, sleeping, and even shutting it down but it is still doing it. Also the computer is now refusing to recognize the battery! My system stats shows the battery as "draining" even though the sucker is plugged in. My battery meter at the top right just shows an X. I don't know what I should do about it! Do I need to ship it to apple or something? Please help me!!!!!!
Theres two things that have been on my mind:
Could it be overheating and then shutting off because of that? I did notice that the thing was really hot after that last occurence, and after I just let it be over night, it turned back on and was seemingly back to normal. I just downloaded a fan control program and it hasn't shut itself down since.
The other thing I was wondering about is the Logic disk, logic drive, logic core, or somehing like that. I remember reading an apple report a little while back saying that 15 inch macbookpros from May were the most problematic month shipped and that the Logic something or the other was the most common problem for just wierd behavior.
I think I should go see apple people but the problem is that I am in Germany now and actually extrememly busy. -
Last night I opened firefox and it said there was an update (5.0) available, so I updated. When I opened the browser this morning the google toolbar was missing, so I went to the google site and tried to download the google toolbar for firefox. A message appeared in the next to a piece of green jigsaw saying the google toolbar is incompatable with firefox 5.0. Is there some way to make it compatable? Regards, Peter.

I can't download any external programs.It used to work fine before.I had downloaded skype few months ago and then it suddenly dissapeared.When i tried to download firefox,chrome,skype etc it downloads as .dmg extension.I drag it to applications folder.Nothing happens after that,can see the download but w/o the logo of skype etc.I followed one suggestion..went to library>preferences>deleted the .psp lock file>emptied trash>downloaded skype again but still the same.

Any suggestions? ThanksA .dmg file is a disk image file. If you double-click it, it will mount and look like a hard drive is attached.
Once you've mounted the disk image, you should see either an application that you drag to your Applications folder or an installation app. Just follow the instructions and the app you've downloaded will be installed.

Errors opening a project in Adobe Premiere pro CC 2014 from previous version

I have a problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014. I use Adobe to edit my film project and from the last time I updated the CC to CC 2014, it shows me an error message (Pic nr 1). When I want to continue and save that, Premiere CC 2014 shows me another message(Nr 2). but next time when I want to open that, it's impossible ... (Nr 3).
I didn't change or remove anything. The problem started after I updated the program. Even now that I want to open the project with previous version of CC 2013, its showing me the same errors...
Do someone have any idea about it?

I am currently renting Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 through the creative cloud. What all would I have to do to switch to Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Is there anyway to just switch from my current subscription with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Or would I have to buy a whole new subscription to upgrade to Adobe Premiere Pro CC?
the acrobat dc installer will uninstall your acrobat pro xi. you'll see a warning when you start the installation.

Is it Possible to Mark Chapter while capturing from camera?
While capturing from camera there are incidents (like obvious mis-speaks, etc.)that I would like to mark during the shoot when they happen to facilitate finding them while editing.
Is this possible to enter a chapter marker or something during live capture?

I am using FCP 7.0.3.After about a year of manually noting the time code and notes, I finally found a solution to the problem of marking chapters during a live shoot.
Final Cut Pro X will not allow you to mark a file while capturing it, probably because it does not actually change the raw file. However I just found a piece of software that will do the trick nicely. It is called Cut Notes. The only catch is that you must have an iPad to run it.

You start Cut Notes at the same time that you begin to capture, and it will start a timeline, identical to the one in FCP. Then for every edit point, you simply tap a key to insert the timecode along with either a pre-determined note or manually entered note as to the event. For example I have a note key that says MisSpeak, the opertator just taps it when I mis speak and it saves the time code and the MisSpeak title into a text file. I have another note key same for "walked off screen." You can Edit any number of note keys you may need. Then when finished, Cut Notes will email the file to your computer, simply import it to FCP as chapters using a free utility available at the same website. Awesome!!!
The only caveat is that you must import the file with markers before you do any editing to the project in FCP.

Which cameras are compatible with the capture feature in adobe premiere pro?
My son is making stop motion videos and wants to be able to use the capture feature on adobe premiere pro where you connect your camera via USB and can capture images on your computer through your camera. I'm looking into buying him a camera and am trying to find a list of digital cameras that are compatible with this feature, he has a small fuji camera now that will not let him do so.
What the other users have said is correct. Premiere captures through FireWire or through SDI/HDMI via a 3rd party solution.
For your situation I would say the best bet is to connect you camera to your computer via USB or use a card reader and copy the entire directory to your hard drive and ingest into Premiere via Media Browser.
If you Google 'how to make stop motion in premiere pro' there are tons of great tutorials.

First, you don't have a 5+ year old 3GS. The 3GS has only been around for under 4 years. In fact, 5 years ago there were NO iPhones; the original iPhone (2 generations before the 3GS) came out on June 29, 2007 - not quite 5 years ago. The 3GS was released June 19, 2009.

I have problems in communication between my notebook and Epson printer. It goes offline everytime I unplug it from the notebook and there is no way how to switch it on. Although the printer is recognized and scanning is not a problem. Any solution?

Start with the third box in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
If that doesn't work, use the steps in the second box to repair your iTunes installation. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup advice elsewhere in the user tip.

There aren’t any. AirDrop between the platforms requires that the Mac support Bluetooth 4.0, which wasn’t introduced to them until the 2012 models.
