FCPX export and keep working?

Is it possible to export files in FCPX on one machine and keep editing files on another machine while it is doing that? It is taking me a very long time to export files that ultimately need to be in mp4 and I would like to keep working efficiently on other files while it is doing that. Is it possible? Thank you.

I should have made it clearer that I wanted the exported files to have the date from the EXIF data. After doing a little more research, I ran into jhead (http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/jhead/) a command line tool that does exactly what I wanted. It's free and on the download page is a precompiled binary for OSX-Intel.
Once you download the precompiled binary, make sure to run "chmod +x jhead" to mark the program as an application.
To change the date on your exported .JPG files, simply run "./<folder>/jhead -ft ./*.jpg" in Terminal and everything is happy in export land.

Is this in SBWP or UWL? Does it only happen to one user? Does it only happen with one workflow?
Check in the workflow log if there is anything unusual.

Sharing (Exporting) and keeping folder structure - possible?

I have been amassing a collection of family pictures going back into the 19th century. They are stored in iPhoto in folders by year (e.g. 1967 is a separate folder). I would like to export this as files but keep the folder structure so that relatives can just look in the 19xx folder for all the pictures from that year. Is there any way to export pictures and maintain the file structure used in iPhoto? If this doesn't work exporting original format photos is there any way to export from iPhoto and have it reflect that structure (so relatives on Mac or Windows machines can view/use them)?

I have not come across any applescript and I did just search again.
What I did come across was a program called iPhoto Album Extractor. It is really meant to extract albums into a folder from a damaged iPhoto Library that cannot be opened.
i downloaded it and tried it out to see if it would be a faster way to get your year albums exported. It is really quite fast.
Download the program and open it.
Choose the path by navigating to the iPhoto Library folder and choosing it.
Your albums will quickly be displayed in the left column.
Make a new folder on your desktop and label it albums.
Now highlight the album in the left column and choose "extract"
In the next window choose the folder on the desktop and then hit open.
The images in the album will be extracted/copied into a folder with the name of the album into that folder on the desktop. It is really quite fast. I did this while iPhoto was closed.

I'm a new Aperture user and am loving it so far. However, I can't figure out how to get Aperture to export files and set the exported file to the date and time the picture was taken. Is that possible? Is there an a plug in that will help?

Thanks for the reply. I am new in WF. The template is WS90100104 which is for Invoice (Non PO) Approval. No changes have been done. The task being used here is TS90100086 - Multiple Initial Approval of Inv - no PO.
It was working fine on 4.6c but the problem started after the upgrade to ECC 6.0.
I have not been able to simulate the scenario as the invoice comes from OAWD (Scanning).
User effected are few not all of them.

SQL Developer 2.1: Problem exporting and importing unit tests

I have created several unit tests on functions that are within packages. I wanted to export these from one unit test repository into another repository on a different database. The export and import work fine, but when running the tests on the imported version, there are lots of ORA-06550 errors. When debugging this, the function name is missing in the call, i.e. it is attempting <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE> (parameters) instead of <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE>.<FUNCTION> (parameters).
Looking in the unit test repository itself, it appears that the OBJECT_CALL column in the UT_TEST table is null - if I populate this with the name of the function, then everything works fine. Therefore, this seems to be a bug with export and import, and it is not including this in the XML. The same problem happens whether I export a single unit test or a suite of tests. Can you please confirm whether this is a bug or whether I am doing something wrong?

Hi,
My Workflow Step calls a Cutom Transaction which should have a button Cancel and keep Workitem in Inbox.How do i go abaout implementing this.
It should work similar to the User Decision cancel and keep work item .
My Step also has a Confirm End of processing Check.So if i click on the Cancel
the work item the screen confirm end of processin step should not appear and workitem should be in my Inbox

Just call EXIT_CANCELLED. in your method. This cancels a WI without completing it and leaves it in the inbox.

I'm sorry that your computer crashed. That's the worst. But, it shouldn't have affected ExportPDF, since that is an online service (provided you're using a supported web browser, and there's no firewall or proxy preventing ExportPDF from uploading). First, please make sure that you're using a supported web browser: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
Next, I think we should consider the file that you're trying to convert. How big is it? Had you tried converting it before the crash? Does it contain both text and graphics? Do other files convert without issue?
I look forward to hearing back from you with some specifics about the file.

You can duplicate the iPhoto library (command - D ) and delete everything except the project and its photos from the copy and move that

However the calendar takes very little space - it is simpy database entries - it is the photos in the calendar that take space - and for most people you would wnat to keep those photos in your library
you can use a photo in 50 calendars and it still is only one photo in your library - as I explained calenders do not exist as such - they are simply database entries telling iPhotop how to display the calendar - they take almost no space at all

I made an album of my trip to Australia (lots of pictures) and changed the order of the images (not the same as shooting order) and when I export the images in the album to a folder or memorystick, the images are copied to that place but I lost the album order of the images.
How can I prevent that, without having to renumber al 500 images separatly?

The order in album is only kept in the organizer database, so the only way not to lose that order is to rename files.
If you are using the 'export' function, select your album in custom order, select all photos and in the dialog, choose to rename with a common base name.

FCPX Export Compressor Settings QT Error -2045 and more...

I have a 56 minute FCPX project that won't export. I've tried standard h264 and using Compressor settings for HD 720 for YouTube / Video.
Most recent error is QuickTime Error -2045 - can't find this error documented anywhere.
My console log last recorded for FCP this error:

Now prior to this last (4th attempt) at exporting I was getting this error:

I found a decoder online but perhaps it's 32bit... however, this is just the last time; prior I was getting the no decoder error
1) What is -2045 error
2) What is the proper decoder to use for XVID
3) I do get a warning that there is missing media, effects, titles or generators - and I can see the inspector tell me that these are related to motionVFX Project 543 (see error above) but I can't find any instance of these effects not implemented. So, how can you quickly find any missing media (redzone) or other in a FCPX project without scrolling or playing through it. If something is missing I would expect that I should be able to quickly have my playhead jump to the missing media segment within my project. But I can't figure out how.
4) I need to deliver this project and can't get a suitable export and I'm on deadline, so any thoughts are appreciated. My ideal output is a file to load to Vimeo; secondly a good quality Quicktime movie would be nice. The file is about 50GB (my guess) I need less than 5GB and 720p HD

I would say to start by looking on their web site... unfortunately, that appears to be dead.
Based on the horrible ratings on the App Store (1 star for the current version), I'm not surprised it doesn't work well.

What computer operating system is involved in the Premiere Elements 11 and 13 issues? Same computer or different ones? Are you installing from purchased download installation files or from purchased installation disc? Does Premiere Elements 11 work completely on this computer whereas 13 will not?
Let us go through the typical drill so as to take nothing for granted.
1. Does the problem exist with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Are you working with an individual home computer or in a
school or company network?
2. Are you running the program as Administrator and is there any "domain" account involved?
3. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on the computer with Premiere Elements?
Let us start by ruling in or out any of the above, and then we can decide what next.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
