FEBA transaction (Bank statements)

Hi,
Can someone please explain how the FEBA transaction works?
I have an issue where the status of different transactions in FEBA is yellow, but when I check the postings on the vendor and on the bank clearing accounts, it seems to be OK.
How can this happen?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Linda

Hi,
Here is the example..
SAP R/3 Menu     Accounting  Financial Accounting  Banks  Input  Bank Statement  Reprocess
Transaction Code     FEBA.
Application              Electronic and manual bank statement
Company Code        BP01.
House Bank            DB
Account ID              GIRO
Statement Number     Statement number of the account statement that was posted last.
Statement Date     Statement date (TODAY).
Posting Area     G/L accounting
Pushbutton     Enter.
Press the icon statement overview (F8).
Double-click the bank details to display the statements from this bank. Double-click the statement number to display the statement items. A green checkmark next to the statement indicates that the postings have been processed without errors. You can see the posted document number in the individual statement items. Double-click an item to display further information, such as the reference, business partner, bank details, external transaction, note to payee, and so on. To display the document that was created, double-click the document number.
Choose the green arrow (Back F3) to return to the Bank Statement Subsequent Processing screen. In this screen, select ‘Subledger accounting’ in the ‘Posting Area’ field and do the same steps 3, 4 and 5.
You should always check G/L accounting and subledger accounting, since both types of accounting might contain postings that have not been carried out.
Hope it helps

  • FEBA - electronic bank statement - change posting rule

    Hi Experts,
When processing the electronic bank statement in FEBA, there was an error in one of the lines. The status of the line is ' To be posted'.
I need to change the posting rule (internal transaction) but i hit this error - Item would not be posted in new transaction; transaction not changed. Message no. FV 715
Any idea how I can proceed?
    Please help. Thanks!
    -Charlene-

    Hi,
I guess the bank statement is loaded in the system. If yes then , in addition to the above suggestions, delete bank statement, configure new rule and again run the bank reco. This is because once bank statement is loaded you cannot change posting rule in FEBAN. And also the bank statement number gets updated in SAP.

  • Error in FEBA- Electronic Bank Statement.

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing a problem with FEBA and the issue is as described below;
    1. User has uploaded the Bank File using FF_5 and it got uploaded correctcly.
    2. In FEBA i could see that the items/line items are marked a posted and even the document numbers have been created.
Now the issue is; If i want to see those documents then the system says it does not exist (FB03). I can display the document in Table FEBEP.
    3. If i try to upload the Bank file again system doesn't allow me.
Please help in cracking this issue.
Thanks in advance for all how trys to help me in this.
    Cheers..
    KMB

Make sure that when using FB03, that you have the correct fiscal year and company code. Usually around this time of the year (fiscal year end), the fiscal year field defaults to the current year although the document may be from the prior fiscal year.
In FEBA, on the document overview screen, try double clicking on the posted document number twice (once in the list of all items and a second time on its individual screen) and see if the system branches to the posted document and opens it for display.

  • FEBA - bank statements not processed (status yellow)

    Hi,
When using the FEBA transaction (Bank statements), some bank statements were not processed. They have the status yellow.
    What does this mean?
    How can I process it?
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Linda

    Hi Linda,
First of all check, the vendor address details. Is your SAP Version ECC6. If so, from FK02 Vendor master change - in the vendor address details maintain the postal code and city details and once again execute the proposal run. Delete the earlier proposal and enter a fresh proposal. This should work.
Alternativelya lso check your FBZP settings.
Hope this helps. Assign points if useful.

  • Bank Statement processing

    Hai Expert,
Any one tell me ,what is Bank Statement Processing? in SAP B1. version 8.8,Batch Level 14
    Thanks
    R.Arunraj

    Hi Arun,
With Bank statement processing (BSP) you can administrate incoming and outgoing payments in one transaction, including charges and all banking transactions
Bank statement processing is responsible for external reconciliation of the bank statement with journal entries
Installation of Bank statement processing is activated in the company details and is part of SAP Business One core.
    Note:
If you activate bank statement processing you will not be able to use cash& bank any more. This setting is not reversible!
Which DB localisation do you use ?

  • Sequential numbering of the bank statements in transaction FEBA

    Hi expert,
When I load the bank statements in transaction FEBA, the numbering of the bank statements is not sequential.
How can I make it sequential?
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Linda

Please note the statement number is normally provided by your bank.
I would contact your bank to ask why the numbering changed.
There is normally a check inside SAP that looks at opening statement balance and statement number.
Perhaps your coder have turned this off. - Please check with them over this.

  • Post process bank statements in FEBA

    Hi expert,
I received a customer payment via a bank transfer and I have loaded the bank statement via transaction FF_5.
    The G/L has been posted.
When I wanted to post process the subledger, via transaction FEBA, the open items did not appear immediately.
I had to select "More" and enter the account number.
Then I was able to select all the open items related to my payment.
Do you know what influences the fact that only 4 open items were shown?
How can I show the whole list of a specific customer?
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Linda

    Hello Eugene,

  • Manual bank statement not display in FF_6 transaction

    Hi,
I use FF67 transaction to create a manual bank statement. Just after save, i use the command "Bank Statement" => "Post" => "Individual Statement".
So now i would like to display this entry in FF_6, so i enter all the necessary information (Bank Id, etc.) but i have the header of my statement but not the items with amount, etc.
I'm new in FI so could you tell me if i missed a point or if there is something to do?
    Thanks

Just after save the statement and post it, i can verify that my FI document is well create. In FEBA the statement seems to be ok (Green)
When i would like to display and print it in FF_6 i just have the header of my statement (Bank ID, Account number, date, etc.).
In place of the item it's displayed "No data in the list".
This problem is only for manual statement. Automatic statements works perfectly.
It's the same problem if i would like to print the statement in FEBA.
Have you got an idea ?

Please check in the customizing, in "Define Posting keys and posting rules for manual bank statement" / " "define posting rules". You will see that usually each posting rule has 2 entries: pos. 1 (bank accounting) and 2 (Subledger accounting). If one of the 2 rules is missing, you will find in FEBA "NOT TO BE POSTED". This may be done intentionaly, when 1 posting is sufficient, or it may be an error of customizing.
When you are creating the posting rules, you should know how many postings are to be done (1 or 2).

  • FEBA :Banking: Red Cross on bank statement upload

    Hello Gurus,
I am facing a strange behaviour in electronic bank statement uploads.
The file is uploaded in the system and its shown as Red cross. There are no transactions in the bank statement and the opening and closing balances are same.
There is no activity in the bank account and still on loading the satement it shows a Red Cross for file loaded on June 20th.
The file coming on June23rd is loaded successfully and has a green checkbox where again there were no transactions and opening and closing balances are tallied.
I dont see any value or sign difference. I checked other threads but couldnt get solution and had to open a new discussion
Any thoughts on how we can change the red cross to Green Tick. SAP instance is on ECC 6.0.
    Any utility to be developed?
    Regards
    Rutvij

    Hello Rutvij,
FEBAN - give Co.code, house bank, account id, statement date and statement nubmer.
If it is outgoing payment then go to statement items i con in top side of that screen. Then click post option.
In the next screen click on payment order because if you want to clear invoices based on payment orders or click either reference or document number in additional selections tab. And then give your co.code and account type. If required, put additional selection like amount, reference, etc in additonal selections tab.
Press enter and then select open items to be cleared and then save.
Now SAP will display all open invoices against the customers. Activate the invoices that must be cleared. Simulate document. Now enter the payment amount and press enter.
Enter once again in the next screen then press save. Now you will get a message saying that document got posted with no.xxxx in co.code
I hope it will resolve your issue else revert us with your query.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • EBS - Electronic Bank Statement Multiple Posting Rule for One External Transaction Type NTRF

    hello SAP Gurus,
I'm configuring EBS - Electronic Bank Statement. My requirement is for Bank External Transaction Type NTRF <for Incoming Payment> I want to assign 2 posting rules for Posting Area 2 that is Sub-Ledger posting viz. <1> For the payments received from Customer which should clear the Customer Open item since it is bill to bill exactly matching the open line item and <2> For the payments which should not clear the Customer Open item since i know that they are not bill to bill and only partial against the original line item
Is this possible? if yes then how?
Currently, SAP allows only one assignment like one external transaction type NTRF => one Posting Rule <either clear the sub-ledger-system picks FB05 or just post on Sub-ledger so that not to clear - system uses FB01 >
    Journal for Posting Area 2:
    Bank Clearing Account Dr
To Customer Account Cr  <either set this to clear with original invoice / or just post on customer so as to clear/handle it manually later on once paid fully>
So, what is the solution; how can i differentiate my incoming whether fully payment or partial payment; since bank statement always tag it to external transaction type NTRF always for any incoming payments !
    regards,
    `raj.

    Hi,
You cannot create separate rule with sub ledger postings while executing electronic bank reconciliation. The reason is your bill to bill transfers should posted to bank sub ledger account first and then you can write a BDC to clear sub ledger account.Otherwise use F.13 to clear the sub ledger account.

  • Bank statements are uploaded successfully, but transactions are not shown in FF_6/FEBAN

Hello Friends – Can you please clarify my doubt with regards to the issue with Bank statement upload.
We uploaded the Bank statements successfully. After that when I go to FF_6/FEBAN, I do not see the transactions and Bank statement we received has got transactions.
    It shows Statement status “8”.
As Documents are not posted (I also checked in FEBEP table, do not see any line items), I should delete these Statements and upload them again?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please check if you have marked " Do Not Post" in FF_5 for importing bank statement.
This could be one of the reason why you are  not seeing bank statement in SAP.

  • Bank Statement Processing - FF_5 - FEBA - Posting Rules

    Hi All SAP Experts !!!
I am a non SAP expert (I am a tehcnically minded accountant) trying to find out if I can find a SAP solution to my problem.
I am trying to introduce automatic processing / upload and posting of journals from electronic Bank statements from Citibank.
My particular problem is in the area of processing Cash/Customer receipts which can come from various
different external transaction types from my bank statement.
I have tested a solution whereby the e-bank statement is queried for Invoice numbers with some success but
my problem is the success depends on the accuracy and completeness of Invoice numbers provided by my cusomters.
The above solution when it works makes the following accouNting entries
Level 1 Dr Bank A/c                   Cr Suspense A/c (General Ledger)
Level 2 Dr Suspense A/c           Cr A/R Subledger (Clearing the Customer Invoices)
Due to the lack of consistancy in results of testing I now wish to do something different
Query the same statement on the basis of Customer Name or Customer Bank Details (Bank Orig ID)
From this I would simply like to make the same level 1 posting as above but for the Level 2 posting I simply
want to leave the monies received unallocated on the subledger (ie FBO1 or Not clearing anything)
Is it possible to query the E-Bank statemnent on a name or Bank Originatiing ID and use same to map to a
Customer No within one of SAP's tables ie "Widget & Co" = Cust No  10001 in the AR subledger?
Can the above FB01 Level 2 type transaction be carried out just posting and not allocating/clearing?
    Thanks a million
    MJOAP40

In the definition of the level 2 posting rule, you have a couple of options.  You can leave the posting rule type as a subledger clearing and specify a "Posting on acct key".  With that SAP will attempt to clear, but if it can't it will use the posting key specified to post on account (FB01).
Another option is to change the posting rule posting type from clearing the subledger to posting to the subledger - in this case, SAP will not attempt to clear anything, but just post everything on account.
In either scenario, if the system does not have an invoice to clear, then you will probably need to use a search string to assign the customer number so the system knows what account to use for the on account posting.  Search strings look at the remittance information on the bank statement (Note to Payee).  You would need to create search strings specific to each customer.  The search string would map the customer's remittance information to the customer's number in SAP.  There are multiple posts in this forum and the ERP Financials - Treasury Applications forum regarding configuration of search strings.

  • Electronic Bank Statement - Assign External Transaction Types to Posting Rules

    Hello,
I am trying to assign external transactions (BAI codes) to posting rules in global settings of electronic bank statement.
    Here is my scenario -
If it is a credit transaction then I assign BAI code 167 to a posting rule (ex. Z555) that is assigned to GL account lets say 1234. Now I want to assign a credit transaction 167 from a different customer to a different posting rule (ex. Z666) so it posts to different account lets say 9991. SAP won't let me do this. It gives me an error that entry already exists. It won't let me assign two posting rules to the same external transaction code. Is there a way to address this scenario?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Priya

    Hi Priya
If you have something different to distinguish between the two transactions, you can use the search string configuration. Generally, such kind of information is available in Notes to Payee  information in your bank file. The below link will help you in how the search strings are configured in SAP
EBS: configuration of search string, part 1
If the search string does not work for you, you may also at implementing the enhancement FEB00001. You can check out the relevant exits in this enhancement in t code SMOD.
