Feedback Initialize

I am trying to bring data into the following logic circuit from two arrays.  The initial input to two of the xor gates must be 1,1 and then after the first iteration it takes in the previous output.  I have tested the circuit using a random number generator and it works great as long as I do not use arrays as input.  I am not seeing the initialization arrays receive the the previous output when I use arrays which is stopping my VI from working.  I have uploaded a screen shot of the VI below.  Thanks for any help.

OK, I'm trying to get a better idea of exactly what you are trying to do, so I've tried to duplicate your code. Could you take a look at this and let me know if this is good representation of what you are trying to do?
The two small For loops are simulating the two array inputs that you have on the top of your loop coming from the Build Array functions.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

  • Feedback Node Initializer Being Ignored ?

    Hi
    I have a feedback node sat in a For Loop, the number of iterations is determined by an input array. The same input array is wired to the initializer terminal of the Feedback node.  The Feedback node delay is set to 3 and yet the output of the node only contains the first value of the array for the first 3 iterations. It's easier to show than describe.
    So I would expect the output Array to contain the values 3,1,0,0,1,2 yet it actually contains 3,3,3,0,1,2
    If I wire the scalar value 99 to the initializer then I get the expected 99,99,99,0,1,2
    What am I missing ?
    This is LabVIEW 2011 for MAC OS X

    To expand on Swatts answer a bit more.  You are actually only initializing the feedback node with a single element because you have the array auto-indexing at the loop tunnel.
    If you fed the entire array into the For Loop and the initializer terminal, it would have worked the way you expected.

  • How to attempt production orders and get feedback by using IDocs

    Hi,
    I'm new new to SAP and R3 respectively mySAP. I need to know how to use IDocs (over file system) to attempt production orders to an extern application and how to get the feedback of the whole orders and single operations.
    I found the IDoc-base-type "PPCC2RECORDER01" to send production orders. Is that the right base type for production orders?
    (In consideration of compatibility and support me was recommend to avoid the old types OPERA2 and CONF21.)
    What IDoc-types do I need to get feedback about a production order and its operations?
    I hope someone is understanding my questions is able to help me. Please apologize my broken English.
    Thanks!
    Hannes

  • Does Database initializer obsolete in EF 6.0 ? And we should use Migration instead of it.

    In this tutorial
    http://www.asp.net/mvc/overview/older-versions/getting-started-with-aspnet-mvc3/cs/adding-a-new-field
    I see such code
    public class MovieInitializer : DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges<MovieDBContext> {
    protected override void Seed(MovieDBContext context) {
    var movies = new List<Movie> {
    new Movie { Title = "When Harry Met Sally",
    ReleaseDate=DateTime.Parse("1989-1-11"),
    Genre="Romantic Comedy",
    Rating="R",
    Price=7.99M},
    new Movie { Title = "Ghostbusters ",
    ReleaseDate=DateTime.Parse("1984-3-13"),
    Genre="Comedy",
    Rating="R",
    Price=8.99M},
    new Movie { Title = "Ghostbusters 2",
    ReleaseDate=DateTime.Parse("1986-2-23"),
    Genre="Comedy",
    Rating="R",

    new Movie { Title = "Rio Bravo",
    ReleaseDate=DateTime.Parse("1959-4-15"),
    Genre="Western",
    Rating="R",
    Price=3.99M},
    movies.ForEach(d => context.Movies.Add(d));
    But when I went to https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/data/ee712907 I see only migration database
    I am newbie at EF. I am focusing on Code First. I have an idea that
    DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges
    and another DataBase initializer is not acutal for EF 6 but it was used in previous version.
    On the other hand from names of this
    Database initializer is for database initization
    Migration for database structure changing
    Before learning I decided ask this question
    Does Database initializer obsolete in EF 6.0  ? And I should use Database Migration instead of it ?
    My .NET Blog with projects and feedback.
    Since May 30, 2014 I am waiting for Microsoft fix
    these 2 bug. If you know how to speed them up, please help

    Hello,
    >>Does Database initializer obsolete in EF 6.0?
    I do not know why you think so, if the team decides to make the database initializer obsolete, I think they would make a markup as Deprecated, however, there is not such a markup on that method on MSDN document. And the Database initializer method is useful
    when we play with automatic migration. In your case, the DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges database initialization strategy, would delete the original database and create new one according your new model. Of course, data would be missing. If you are under a
    scenario need to make a test to recreate the database frequently, this one should be ok.
    Currently, there are four database initialization strategies could be used:
    CreateDatabaseIfNotExists<TContext> Class
    DropCreateDatabaseAlways<TContext>
    DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges<TContext>
    MigrateDatabaseToLatestVersion<TContext, TMigrationsConfiguration>
    You could use one of them for a proper scenario.

  • Feedback node crashing bug

    I have came across a nasty bug that caused Labview 2010 SP1 (Runnnig Win 7 Ultimate x64 bit) to crash without any warning.
    To replicate the bug do the following:
    Add a numeric control and another indicator to the front panel
    Switch to block diagram and add a feed back node
    Connect the initializer terminal of the feed back node to the output of the control
    Now do ANY of the following to cause the bug:
    Press the run buttong (which is broken due to not connecting the input of the feed back node) it will turn to a normal run without displaying the error
    Do an extra action and undo it, the run button will turn from list error normal
    So far the Vi can be saved normally. Now connect the output of the feed back node to the indicator and try any of the followings:
    Save the VI
    Close the VI
    Create a new project and select to add the VI to the project
    This will cause Labview to crash without any notice!
    When you are at step 4, the bug is there but harmless. Once you combine it with step 5 (connect to indicator), the bug is active and cause crashing. I have attached a snapshot of how the Front panel/block diagram look like before saving (since it can't be saved). Notice how the run button is enabled although the input of the feedback node is not connected.
    I have tried to replicate the error on Labview 2009 but couldn't.

  • SP01: More than 200 downloads of SP01 - great! Please give feedback here:

    Hello,
    2005A SP01 PL02 has been downloaded by more than 200 different SAP Business One partners. That's great and proves the high demand for allowing early hands-on across the partner community!
    However, feedback is rare. Usually this means that no major issues occured and that the information given (e.g. in the documentation of DB and UI changes + potential compatibility issues) is OK as well.
    That would be great!
    Could you confirm - or reject that interpretation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Frank

    I have been studying SBO 2005 A SP1 for a while. I have come to terms with the License Server issue.
    However, I now have a new problem.
    All the add-ons (for different databases) cannot start anymore.
    When I tried Outlook Integration, I will a series of error messages, including
    1. Resource error (no title)
    2. Initialization failed (no title)
    I am given a choice to
    a. Restart Add-on
    b. Log off the company
    c. Continue without the Add-on
    I chose the last option and I get a dialog box that says
    BO_Outlook.exe - Application Error (Title)
    The instruction at "0x016cf850" referenced memory at "0x02de2f48". The memory could not be "read".
    Click on OK to terminate the program.
    When I tried XL Reporter, the error messages are slightly diferent.
    1. Unable to connect to DI. Resource Error (title = XL Reporter)
    I was given the System Message with the 3 options. I chose 3. No further messages.
    Any advice? These add-on modules were working fine.

  • Calling a Function node in a DLL to give force-feedback effect to a joystick (using DirectInput)

    Hello,
    I have been working for a couple of weeks on writing a DLL in Visual C++ Studio. My intention is to write an exported function in the DLL to initialize a Logitech Force3Dpro joystick, setup a force feedback effect and run it using DirectInput. I would like to control this force feedback effect (in particular, the intensity of the feedback) from Labview by calling the function in the DLL.
    I followed the FFConst example in Microsoft SDK DirectInput Samples for making an .exe file to setup and run force feedback effects. I have been able to build the DLL successfully with an exported function that can be accessed from Labview by "Call a function node". I tested the function by running simple functions such as addition and multiplication of integers, andconfirmed the fact that the DLL was built correctly. I have also included the DirectInput code for initializing and running the force feedback effect. I am able to compile and build the DLL with no problems.
    The Problem:
    The only problem that I have at this point is with setting SetCooperativeLevel for the DirectInput8 joystick device. I have to provide a top-level window handle to SetCooperativeLevel so that I can give the function exclusive access to the joystick. Since I am not making a window and am building a DLL, I am not sure what handle I am supposed to provide it so that the joystick can respond. I am not sure if passing a handle to the Labview window would work because it is accessing the DLL's function? I tried passing LabView window handle to the function and read the X-axisposition off the joystick, but it read some junk (huge long integer) - which lead me to believe that the problem is something to do with initializing the joystick.
    For all practical purposes, I am a complete novice at DirectInput
    programming and working with Visual C++. Although, I have programmed in
    C++previously. I am sorry for the long message, but I wanted to give a bit of background so that my aim is clear.
    Any help, advice or direction with this problem be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time!
    Cheers!
    Abhishek

    I'm Getting the "Could not connect to server: The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception" Error on an existing Instance of SSRS that had been working previously (lots of installs/patches since).
    Any time I try to hit the "Test Connection" button on existing connections or create new ones from the SSRS Config Mgr., it throws that error.
    I know the SQL Server connectivity works (I have SSMS installed on there and can cut and paste server Login to connect). The problem is I can't really get any more details on the error...Event Viewer isn't logging anything, I have upped the trace level
    to 4 in the reportingservicesservice.config file, I have even watched it with procmon and nothing obvious pops up.
    Let me know if anyone else has been down this path and what they have tried.

    Hi BillOlive,
    Based on my research, the issue may be related to user access permission. You can refer to the following method to troubleshooting the issue:
    Open C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG folder | right click on the machine.config file | Properties | Security | make sure your domain account has FULL CONTROL permission on this file.
    If above steps still do not work, please backup your machine.config file to somewhere else and replace with the attached one from my Windows Server 2008 environment.
    Alternatively, app.config file also may cause the same issue. There is a similar issue, you can refer to it.

  • FB Node: Initialize on First Call

    The feedback node can only be globally initiallized unless you wire a value to the initialize terminal.   When you wire the initial value the other options are enabled.
    The help for this is a bit lacking but if you select the Feedback nodes properties page it is explained there

  • How to programmatically change the feedback device??

    Hello,
    We are using the NI UMI7774, together with a Servo-drive for a linear actuator. In our application, we must first go to a certain position, then maintain a certain force for while, then go back to a certain position....
    For the position control we have mapped the actuator's encoder as the feedback device in MAX - and it works well. For the force control part, we want do use the "Force control using analog feedback"-method (see NI-Motion manual, chapter 13). For this, the force sensor needs to be mapped as the feedback device...
    (1) The question is, HOW can we make this mapping programmatically in our application source code???...is there a method "setFeedbackDevice()" or something??
    (2) Is it likely that we have to have 2 PID-settings (one for the position control part and one for the force control part) and if yes, how can we load the PID parameters programmatically, without opening MAX??
     (3) In the mean time, we have experimented a bit: Using MAX and the encoder as the feedback device, we have positioned the actuator to a certain point. Then we mapped the Force sensor as the feedback device in MAX and pressed Save. However, when we run the force-control-using-analog-feedback example, it didnt work. It still used the encoder as the feedback and hence just moved to a certain position.....We then did another try, where we set the force sensor as the feedback device in MAX, pressed SAVE and pressed INITIALISE.....the actuator subsequently started rattling, without us issueing another move command??.....does anybody know, what this could mean and what we should do????......
    THANKS a LOT FOR ANY ANSWER AND YOUR EFFORTS.......
    p.s. We know that there is also the option of "Force Control using Monitoring Force", but after some discussion on here, it appears that the Analog Feedback-method seems to give better force control results in our application....

    Hi janClose,
    You can change the feedback programmatically by using flex_config_axis(). The axis needs to be stopped when you call this function.
    The control behavior differs significantly when you change the feedback resource, so yes, you will have to tune your axes for both feedback modes seperately. You can change the PID parameters by using flex_load_pid_parameters(). Please note, that you can define two sets of PID parameters and you can switch between these two sets by calling flex_load_single_pid_parameter().
    The last paragraph in the online help for flex_load_pid_parameters() discusses this feature.
    Parameter changes in MAX are not applied before you reinitialize the board, so if you just save the changes the board's operation mode is not affected. The reason why the motor starts rattling when you initialize it, is due to the fact that you are still using the position control PID parameters, which are typically not valid after changing to force control.
    I hope that helps,
    Jochen

  • Feedback nodes / delays and Resource Usage on FPGA

    Again it's time for an exotic FPGA semi-noob question from myself.
    This has been bugging me for a long time:
    When implementing a delay stage on a Virtex-5 target, we have a few options available.
    Feedback nodes : Uses LUTs.  Virtex 5 has 6-input LUTs.  Does this mean that a Feedback node with delay 1 requires the same resources as a Feedback node with delay 6 and a Feedback node with delay 7 requires double the LUTs as one with delay 6?
    Example: A single unit delay feedback node for a U16 requires 16 LUTs.  What is the LUT usage for 6, 7, 9 delay?
    BRAM : Uses few LUTs and Registers. I reckon I understand this one.
    Discrete Delay : Can't be used as feedback but is more efficient than feedback nodes?  It is written in the help that feedback nodes with the reset support disabled CAN be implemented as SRLs allowing the compiler to choose th ebest option whereas the Discrete Delay primitive forces an SRL  Is the SRL implemented using LUTs?.
    Which of these options is recommended for which purpose.  We're really filling our chip and need to start considering such aspects of number storage.
    Sorry for the over-reaching vague questions again.
    On the other hand, being on a steep learning curve is actually almost thrilling.  Every bit of information helps me learn so thanks for that in advance.

    The number of inputs is only indirectly related to the supported delay. The V-5 and above CLBs (Configurable Logic Blocks) can be configured as dedicated shift registers with delays up to 32 in a single LUT per bit. The main restriction is that these shift registers are not resettable, so you only get this implementation when configured without an initialization value. Delays above 32 can be efficiently implemented in multiple LUTs (ie, 1 LUT per 32 delay). These shift registers are known as SRL16 or SRL32, depending on the target family.
    So does this mean that on a LUT-basis, a shift register (with the reset conditions met) with a delay between 1 and 32 costs the same amount of resources?  33-64 delay costs twise that of a single delay?  Is this correct?  I think I need some benchmarking code.....
    JLewis wrote:
    Discrete Delay maps to the same shift register implementation as feedback nodes if the reset condition is met. Otherwise, the main difference is that the Discrete Delay exposes the dynamic delay feature available in the hardware shift registers and, as you noted, can't be used in a feedback cycle. If neither of those considerations is a factor in your design, it's just a matter of preference.

  • BX initialization for new materials

    Hi,
    I have a question on 0ic_c03 cube.
    According to the doc 'How to Handle Inventory managemnet Scenarios in BW', we have done all the procedures for Bx initialization, BF/UM history data load, and BF/UM delta load every day. so now the question is: for the new materials which are come in later than the date of the BX initialization, do we still need to do the BX init for them, and yes - then how can we do it; if no - why?
    Please advice,
    Ping

    The init bx and BF/UM history data loading for our BWP(BW production system) was done in 2004 by my ex-colleague who already left our company; so I am not very sure exactly whether he followed the procedure in How to handle Inventory management PDF...
    But we have refreshed the DEV(R/3 development system) with a copy of PRD(R/3 production system) in Feb, and I have deleted all the data in BWD, and loaded the copy of PRD data to BWD system in mid of Feb, followed the procedures in PDF. and this morning I have checked the materials in BWD system, the KFs are all matched to DEV(R/3).
    While in the meantime, in BWP system the '0totalstck' and '0valstckval' for the same Matrials not matched in PRD system(r/3); but '0isstotstck' and '0rectotstck' are matched.
    according to your advice, this problem in BWP system caused by th compression of BX, BF and UM init and history data laoding. But my question is:
    1, now, Is there a way for me to track back what kind of compression optionin tab Collapse(with mark Update or without Marker update) he used when he did the BX/BF/UM init loading in 2004?
    2, Now there are lots of production delta loading in BWP system since 2004, and if I want to correct the compression issue, is it ok for me to just follow your steps in your previous mail, and <b>redo</b> the compress for BX/BF/UM with the correct compression option. will it affect our exiting production data?
    3, what else could be teh reason  caused this problem in BWP system, and what is teh best way for me to resolve it.
    Waiting for your feedback,
    Ping

    You need to initialize your feednode nodes to an array of the appropriate size to match your waveform length.
    In LabVIEW, what happens if you have {1,2,3} - {0,2}?  The output array will be of length of the smallest of the arrays being subtracted.  So you will get {1,0}.  So what happens when you subtract an empty array?  You will have an empty array as your output.
    Here's a quick edit of your code.
