I am sending a file to RFC
I see checkered flag in MONI
I see gree receiver CC
The RFC on the R3 hasnt received the contents that i sent
I have following Questions
1. Is my source file reached RFC? IF yes where do I need to check? receiver side CC green implies file sent succesfully?
2. On the RFC side, how do I check if the sender file has reached R3 and to RFC? where will the file reach first in R3?
3. How do I execute the RFC function module on the R3 side?
I know name of the FM ... its a customized FM

Hi,
First of all, have imported the RFC in XI?
Is your Connection works fine?
Is your RFC is Remote Enabled? (under Attribute tab in R/3 tcode SE37) if not make it remote enabled.
Now your answeres are as below:

Ans Check in Moni R/3 side, also check the queues SMQ1.
2. On the RFC side, how do I check if the sender file has reached R3 and to RFC? where will the file reach first in R3?
Ans: In R/3 check in the respective tables as you mentioned the below ques that you have a Z FM, then you must be knowing the table names.
3. How do I execute the RFC function module on the R3 side?
I know name of the FM ... its a customized FM
Ans: No need to execute the RFC for your scenario. (but for your knowledge, use Tcode se37-->enter the RFC name and press ececute button)

BC CASE:: File not Reaching XI to BW System even message is success in MONI

Hi! Gurus,
This is Amar Srinivas Eli. Here I am facing one important issue. we are transferring data from SAP XI --> BW System via RFC's through FTP Server using Sender File(FTP) to receiver RFC Module.

But issue is we are able to send messages from XI but that particular files not reaching to BW system
Here we checked the below following:: 
1.SXMB_MONI:: Success Message its Showing success status and Black and White FLag is obtained and is reflecting every time success from XI SIde
2. SMQ1 & SMQ2 :: No Messages in both the queues.
3. We checked RFC COnnections ::
every thing is fine and all are active.
4. Communication Channel Monitoring::
Both Sender as well as Receiver CC are showing Status Green and Error Free
5. I checked with BASIS Trace on my User ID:
in that analysis every thing is fine means no red colour error.
NOte:: This Scenario is become Success only once if the XI server is restarted once then the file is reaching BW system in remaining cases one day File is picking successfully and another day file is not even picking.
WHY THIS UNEVEN IN SERVER AND tell me if there is any mistake or else any issue with RFC or Still I need to do any thing from my part as a XI Developer,.
Kindly answer it as it is a BC Case.

I already mentioned that I have chcked even in SXMB_MONI as well as SMQ1 and SMQ2.
1. In MONI If you placing a file in FTP server it was picking from FTP Server and is howing success message in MONI (Blacka nd White Flag)
2. I also checked in Both the queues SMq1 and Smq2no messages and no queues are remained in Queues
3. Even I checked CC Channel Monitoring
both sender and receiver Cc's are Green and Error free.So
So,Please provide any other solution for why it was not reaching to BW system even though All RFC Connections are fine and acitive.

Mapping error in file(FCC) to rfc scenario

Hi,
i am trying to implement mapping in file (fcc) to rfc scenario. the source file is getting picked up, but the problem is arising during mapping. i am unable to generate the target structure. i am attaching mapping structure as follows
Source Structure                           Target Structure: RFC

here the recorset is mapped to item, and fields of subnode gmd_site_101 is mapped to fields of subnode item. similarly, for the other subnodes. but when testing with xml file, the target field is not getting generated. in FCC parameters, ignorerecordset name is set to "true".
any help would be very helpful..thanks in advance.

You can test the data using payload from SXMB_MONI in message mapping test tool so as you can get to know the reason of failure.
It would be better if you paste the error you are getting over there.
Check if you have maintained the namespace in CC or not. it should be same maintained if you have kept namespace in message type.
Also check in FCC parameters you must have used ignoreRecordsetName = true

Flat file to Asynch RFC: R3 not getting updated

hi all,
I have a flat file to asynch RFC scenario.I can see the file getting deleted and the chequered flag in MONI.In adapter monitoring i can see the message being processed for the RFC.But it has to update an R3 table which is not getting done.
Can anybody give ideas where the problem lies...in earlier blogs someone had suggested to check sm58 but dnt know what to give the inputs for this...

1)I hope your Receiver RFC adpater is working fine (In adapter monitoring it should be green)
2) As you mentioned that your RFC is working correctly with the given inputs (which in this case you are passing thru file, right?). Just check oncemore.
3) Call transaction SM58 . This tool lists only those transactonal RFCs that could not be carried out successfully or that had to be planned as batch jobs. The list includes the LUW ID and an error message. Error messages displayed in SM58 are taken from the target system. To display the text of the message, double-click on the message.
so u have to check in sap29...

BPM scenario to send same file data two RFC function modules

Scenario:same file need to send the data to two different RFC functions.
so in this case i need to use two receive steps or only one receive step? beause file should be places in the archive after second rfc triggered.
but this scenario client need to go with BPM only .I am new to BPM.please suggest the steps and process need to follow for this scenario.

Hi,
You will have one async receive step to start the BPM from your file interface, 2 synchronous send steps for each RFC, and an async receive step to archive.
Don't use the transformation steps in BPM, as it decreases performance. You can use the same abstract interface for your file format in the send steps, but specify different Send Contexts for the receive steps. In Configuration, use a condition on Context object ProcessStep = Send Context from your BPM, and route to the correct RFC interface, using a mapping from your file to the RFC.

Audit Error - File Maximum Reached

Hi,
We have recently complete a migration from non-unicode MS SQL to unicode Linux Oracle. Upon completion of the migration, the auditing failed. Under SM19, Dynamic Configuration tab, it is showing error 'File Maximum Reached' under the server status.
I have checked the space and permission for the audit log folder. I have also increased the rsau/max_diskspace/local, rsau/max_diskspace/per_file and rsau/max_diskspace/per_day parameter. Non of these work.
Does anyone knows the solution or guide me to the location where the error logs for audit are stored?

Thanks for providing those information. But I do not want to delete my audit logs, the disk space is sufficient for keeping the logs. I have also previously adjusted those profiles parameters to a high enough value.
My major problem is the audit is not working. And it is throwing the error 'file maximum reached'.
Any kind souls can advice me on how to fix this problem? All suggestions are welcome.

However now i suddenly cannot connect to database and SAP is down.

"Error occurred while launching. The end of the file was reached" ?

I have OS 9.2.2 and, recently, OS X 10.3.9, installed on my machine. I have not yet transferred my Outlook Express files to MAIL. Yesterday, I was attempting to clean out my Outlook Express DELETE files when I noticed that I had hit the wrong key and was deleting my IN files. I couldn't stop the process,so I turned off my machine. Now, whenever I try to connect with Outlook Express, I get the message "Error occurred while launching. The end of the file was reached". Now, Outlook Express is no longer supported by Microsoft, so it's time to change to Safari, anyway, but I have many files in Outlook Express that I want to save. Can anything be done?

No solutipn yet, but I'm still hopeful. However, I would appreciate your comments on the following:
1. I still could not open Outlook Express, even after rebuilding the desktop--twice--and downloading it again. However, I just noticed that you recommended the use of a OS 9 CD, not a download. I'll look around for the CD if you feel that's the only way to go. Is it?
2. When I downloaded the OS 9 Outlook Express, the window said to copy it to my Hard disk. I assume that means just to drag the Outlook Express icon to the top of the Hard Disk icon. Is that correct?
3. If all else fails, what about those programs that have been around for years that facilitate the retrieval of otherwise lost files. Would such a program be helpful in this case? If so, can you mention a few of them? I want to retain some of those files, even if it means having to spend a hundred dollars or so for the necessary software.
4. Yes, such mishaps can indeed be painful. Fortunately, although I am a bit of a fumble-fingers, the problems I have encountered since I bought my set in 1999 as the result of such clumsiness have been few. It looks like I've been lucky, but that I am paying for it now.

Help with "The end of file was reached" error message in Outlook 2011

Hello, I am having an issue with Outlook 2011 that after 24 hours or so I am getting a “The end of file was reached” error message code -17895.
Right after this error I get a disconnected from Exchange server and even after re opening the client it stays like this for about 5 minutes then restores. Has anyone else seen this error? I am able to reproduce this on multiple machines with multiple Exchange
2010 mailbox accounts.

Outlook 2011 for Mac using Office 365, 3 users have reported the End of File Reached error when trying to send email.
I have logged a ticket with Microsoft support and they have followed up with the following directions.

Log in to your computer with the administrative account. Open the hard drive, go into the "Applications" folder and then open the "Utilities" folder. Now launch the Disc Utility application.

this file i have says "The end of the file was reached."
i can open it in VLC player but have been unsuccessful in re-exporting it in any other format, or importing it into any program for that matter
if anyone knows how to correctly do it from vlc let me know, or ANY way i can make this file import into final cut

This error message appears when there's an inconsistency in the movie structure.
VLC can play it because it's less picky with standards.
If you want to recover the file and use it in Final Cut Pro, two solutions:
1. Play with VLC Exporting Wizard until you manage to export to a good mov file (good luck with that.. you've been warned!)
or

Problem with Local File Identification in RFC

Dear all,
We are working on a scenario where we have to integrate an external application with SAP system. The external application would use SAP DMS as document repository; It will send us a local file path and we have to upload the document located in that path as an attachment to a DMS Document Info Record. We have designed a wrapper RFC for this purpose, which encapsulates the standard Fm BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2. This BAPI takes a file path input under table parameter DOCUMENTFILES. Problem is, when we are running the RFC from SAP GUI, the document info record is created correctly with the document as attachment, but when we invoke the RFC from the external application, the process fails and we get an error message stating:"Error while checking in Original Files". We debugged the scenario and found out that, while running under SAP GUI, the BAPI is able to identify a GUI Link, and hence succeeds; but while calling from the external application, the BAPI fails to find a GUI Link, tries to start a FTP Server using RFC Destination SAPFTP, and fails. So, obviously, the BAPI is not able to parse the local file path because of non-existence of GUI Link. So,in this regard, my question is: is there no way that we can pass a local file path from an external application to SAP, and get the same identified and get the document uploaded? Is there any alternative to our approach?

Solved the problem by:
Converting file content to binary->transferring binary content to a wrapper RFC->writing the content into a temporary file in application server->then calling BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 to create the document without attachment->then calling CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN to checkin the temporay file from application server.

Insert file name to RFC

Hello,
I have scenario from File to RFC.
I need to insert to one of the XML tag in RFC the file name.
I try to implement the Michael blog:

But I received this error message:
RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Runtime exception during processing target field mapping /ns1:ZXI_INV_VISIBILITY_VALIDATE/INPUT_FILE/item/INV_TYPE. The message is: Exception:[java.lang.NullPointerException] in class com.sap.xi.tf._inventory_visibilty_Validate_MM_ method filename$[, com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.Context@1ca63f6]
Any idea how to solve this issue?

for waiting state of message means either receiving system is not ready or there are some messages which are into system error state under RWB message monitoring. Please calcel all System Error messags from RWB.
Secondly in MONI you can check if your target file was mapped with file name or not.
Also check the queus by SMQ1 & SMQ2, if something got stuck there then you need to clear it. Check in both in PI & in R3.

File to Multiple RFC's to File scenario ....

We are implementing a scenario : File-RFC-File without BPM, but our output data is available with 3 BAPI's, If we are going to implement 3 File-RFC-File scenario's so we would be getting 3 output files. How can this be combined in a single file.... As we need to generate a single file.
Pl. can anyone help me with this ......?

Easiest way would be the use of BPM. Without BPM, you can create and append same file but that could not ensure the correctness of data, so not a good solution.
Other way could be using one scenario with two RFC lookups.

RFC 2 File Error in RFC sender: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

I'm sending data asynchronously from R3 to a file through XI, I've got the RFC destination (in R3) and sender RFC channel (in XI) configured and tested. Working fine.
Then in my report I've got the following code that sends 1 string and 4 internal tables 2 to XI:

    IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION 'SAP_2_XI'
    EXPORTING
      RUTA                       = p_ruta
    TABLES

      IT_COMPRAS           = lt_repartos.
COMMIT WORK.
I've done that king of connection several times and allways worked but now I've got that error in the communication channel monitoring at RWB:
Error in processing caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
And no message is created in XI. What can it be?

The problem is with the adapter but no message is generated yet in XI, so I don't have XML yet.
The RFC sends the data to XI through the RFC destination and at this point something is wrong because that error is produced. The error is visible in both sides, In transaction SM58 at R3 I can see the error that tRFC hasn't been precessed because the ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException.
But if I go to communication channel monitoring I can see the same error too, so that confirms that the communication between R3 and XI works fine but something is wrong and the error don't give me more details

now basically.. when the file is empty the content conversion does not produce any payload and throws error..
can u pls help me in this?

The problem is that XI will pick up th file with empty payload.. but as there is no content in the file...
the content conversion cannot be done
The content conversion will still be done except that it will not output anything. To do this, set your recordset occurrence to * instead of 1

and mapping throws error...
Since there is no output, the mapping will really throw an error. What you can do is to place a dummy structure, you can use a two-step mapping to do this, in your operation mapping use Java Mapping as your first mapping and in the second mapping, your actual mapping graphical mapping e.g
1.) Read the inputstream and then check if there is a structure. If there is a structure, the Java mapping just passes it to the outputstream. If it is not, then Java mapping will write the dummy structure into outputstream. (Java Mapping)
2.) Output from 1 is passed to Message Mapping
Can you tell us the reason why empty files are needed to be processed? Because this adds overhead in the AE.
