Filter using formula

Hi everyone,
I m in need to use a filter with a formula and I m not being able to do it. The situation I have is I have a DO that I use as lookup and there is all my "integrators", so the case is I need to have in this filter only the integrators that have the word M4U on it. Well the second problem is having only these M4U in my dropdown filter option if I choose ALL how do I filter in my main DO only the records that have the word M4U on it?
I thought something like this:
If(pSelectIntegrador = "ALL") Then ("M4U") Else (pSelectIntegrador)
where pSelectIntegrador it is my parameter that I create at parameters, but it didint work. Any help?

Hi cleglik,
Thanks for trying but this solution didint work. Because I get a message saying that pSelectIntegrador it is not a field, and in fact it isnt, pSelectIntegrador it is a parameter and I couldnt find a way to use parameter in this case.

iam not exactly saying select * from &c_table but some thing that like columns in select stmt also will be populated in user_parameters ,there are lot of table select.......from     mtl_demand md,     mtl_system_items msi,     mtl_txn_source_types     mtst,     mtl_item_locations loc     &C_source_from &C_from_cat

How to use FORMULA in ABAP for calculation

hi all,
i have to do some calculation in my report and because of this reason i want to use formula. Could any body tell me the best way to use of formula for calculation purpose in ABAP or any other way?

There is another option to do the same thing.
What can be done is, create running total. You can create running total from field explorer by right clicking and then new. Create Running Total Field dialog box appears. In that, provide the following:
i)     Field to summarize - provide the field to maximize (i.e. id)
ii)     Type of summary u2013 Maximum
iii)     Evaluate u2013 On change of field (provide the name)
iv)     Reset u2013 Never
Keep this Running total field on the details section and suppress if you do not want to show it in the details section. Place this field wherever you want in the report.

Its under Functions - Display Functions in the expression builder.

Interactive Report filter using "in"

I am using an interactive report, and I want to filter using the "in" criteria. The data I want to filter is a person's name, and it is a concatenation of the entire name, last name first. I have no problem doing this filter on just the first or last name, but the concatenated field has a comma in it, and that seems to be throwing the filter off.
What automatically populates when I click a name from the list is something like:
Abraham, Adam
I can see that it would probably be interpreting that as two different values. But even if I put single or double quotes around the name, it still does not work correctly.

Try doing an "in" filter on the "name" column.

The comma is the operational separator for the 'IN' clause, so you are right, the filter sees each part of the name as a parameter. Just use something else as the separator (like a space) and you will be good to go.

I thought this would be simple, but I get a syntax error:

In the Redo Rate column I want a simple formula: ((C2/0.7)*8)/1000000
The current value in the last column I hand calculated, but the 0 (zero) is where the formula is supposed to be.
I enter it using Formula Editor as: =((C2 / 0.7) * 8) / 1000000 -- and there is the syntax error...
Can someone please help me... this was supposed to be simple...

Here it behaves flawlessly.
I inserted the Bytes values without the thousands separators then applied the separators.
I'm running a French system so I can't test the behaviour of the English format.
I'm not sure that you are allowed to enter the commas by yourself.
Check if the cells are deciphered as Numbers.
I guess that they are treated as text.

I just want to use formula varible in customer exit
For eg,
I have created formula variable with user manual lnput eg: ZFM_V01 = 30
Another char variable with user manual input eg: 0keydate = 28/02/2011
Required output,
I just want to read my ZFM_V01 value in customer exit
Result = 0KEYDATE - ZFM_V01
EG:
result = 28/02/2011 - 30
Required result = 29/01/2011
Kindly guide me how u get formula varibale value into customer exit(CMOD) and find the required result. please help me.

I created a Currency key(ZXX) which takes CAD and converts to GBP on Planned Exchange rate (P) with time reference 0CALMONTH.
In my case :

I need a Variable ,which takes time reference and gives back the exchange rate .

In the properties of "Analysis Grid" there is an option "use formula" what is use of it ?
In which senarion it is useful, as user i didn't find any significance with this option & even
developers point of view i didn't find any help.

Hi,
You select this checkbox to replace each cell in the analysis grid with a Microsoft Excel formula. This property of the Analysis Grid design item is set by the context menu function Convert to Formula.
The property is activated in supported queries only.

Table for the recorded result.Result automatically calculated using formula

Hi experts,
I want to know where this results will be saved(table name) when we use formula in inspection plan.I have marked char.calc in control indicator and formula has been entered in inspection plan.While entering the result when i click on calc button it is displaying correct result and i have saved.when i check the table QAMR,QASR it is not displaying the result for the MIC which i have used formula.I am able to see the formula in QAMV table.When i want to display this result can i retrive the result directly from any of the table or shall i calculate the formula in the program to display? If i should calculate the formula how to calculate?

Hii,
If u are using Inspection point for the results recording then results will get stored in QASR table. The manually entered results alone will get stored in the Original_ Input field. Calculated parameters will get stored in the mittelwert field (mean value). Kindly check QASE table for lot without inspection points.
For ex : Results Field name mean value (1.7500000000E+02)

Hi, I need to create a dashboard filter using month names in a between statement for examples:
From: January - To August
the problem is when I do this the Obiee server made a filter by alphabetic order, so for the example the result will be nothing (because A is prior to J)...
How can I solve this

mma as given you the solution which would be helpful.
I can say workaround for this,what ever date parameter you want to convert to january....december
you can make an alias of that column as said above and write the filter on that date with a sql statement example as follows
select to_char(sysdate,'FMmonth') from dual
same way you take your requirement as select to_char(*your_date_column*,'FMmonth') from your_table

View link in front of Filter used is giving error

Hello Experts,
Please help me in this:
I have a report made in OBIEE 10g in which ,below the report the filter used in report are shown.
In front of these filter there is a link "View" which when I click it does not view the filter.
As in my case its like below:
Filter1
and filter2 are prompted view
and filter3 are prompted view
and filter4
so when i click the view link above it gives me an error as : 'sawCommandToURLlmpl' is undefined.

Not familiar with the error message, but here are some general ideas you can check.
I believe you are referring to "saved filters" that when displayed in Filter View, have that "View" link at the far right. The link is automatic and points to where the filter is saved. Barring any configuration problems, check to see if the saved filters were saved properly. By this I mean that they were saved in a location that can be viewed by the user who would click on the link. If the permission doesn't allow the connection back to the source, you will get an error. Hope this makes sense.
Other questions to ask and answer:
1) Do all saved filters behave this way (i.e., with an error message)?
2) Do the reports and filter views work as expected when run as Administrator with full access?
3) Does the problem exist in all browsers? Versions?

Hi. I know how to implement filters that process single image as it was described in Pixel Benders Developer's Guide, but how can I apply filter using 2 input images one of which is computed? I wrote a filter that coppies alpha channel of one picture and applies it to another, but flash implementation is quite a puzzle for me... Any help appreciated

I have a requirement wherein i have to filter a column based on a combination of mutiple hierarchy dimensions for which i am using Filter Using Function
ex.
Filter Metric A Using Dimesion A - Range 50 -100
Filter Metric A Using Dimension A - Range 25 - 50, Dimension B Range 0 -100
When i have a report with these metrics alone then it works fine but when both metrics are exposed on a single report
The where clause results in something like this
(Dimension A > 50 OR Dimnesion B > 0) AND (Dimension A > 25 OR Dimension A < 100 OR Dimesnion B < 100) AND Dimesnion A < 50
To sum it up its random and incorrect, any ideas as to why this could happen ??
Any pointers etc would be highly appreciated.

Error original filter used for grahpics

Hi,
Since upgrading to FM10, we have been getting the following error message:
At least one original filter used for graphics imported by reference is not available, or the imported file's format has changed. An alternative filter may be used if the file is recognized as a grahpic FrameMaker can import.
None of the grahpics have changed and they all display. The only thing different is FM10 instead of FM9.
Any ideas on how to fix this probelm? Thanks!

That's more of an alert than an error.
We see it routinely when opening FM/Unix documents on FM/Windows.
It seems to have to do with the platform-specific <ImportHint ...> tags encoded after the <ImportObFile ...> (MIF examples).
None of the grahpics have changed and they all display.
Unless an imported object is rendered incorrectly, I wouldn't worry about it.
This is the first case I've heard of involving Windows to Windows migration, however.
