I have a lot of files with English keywords and captions in Aperture.
I need to export this metadata and get it translated into French.
I then would like to import that data back into the original files overwriting the original data.

Different ways to invoke a servlet from another servlets?

I am a bit confused today. I was thinking about all the ways by which I can invoke a servlet from another servlets. I know it can be done by creating an instance of the 2nd servlet in the 1st one. Is there any other way? such as say.... RequestDispatcher perhaps?
Here is an example to illustrate my point. I have a login.jsp which submits to login.do. login.do search through database and first authenticate email and then the corresponding password. Now its time for displayGame.do. So here how do i do? if it was a displayGame.jsp then i could have used Redirection or Forward but when it is servlets? Can I still go for Redirection or Forward??

Answer: a servlet.
So yes, you can use a RequestDispatcher to forward/redirect to a servlet OR a JSP, whatever you like.

Is there a way to invoke DBMS_CRYPTO directly from SQL?

When I try to do this:-

I get
ORA-06553: PLS-221: 'ENCRYPT_AES128' is not a procedure or is undefined.
However if I create a PL/SQL function MyEncrypt to do the same thing
INSERT INTO MyTable Name VALUES ( MyEncrypt('Graeme') );
it works fine. Hmm.
Is there a way to invoke the DBMS_CRYPTO package's functions directly from SQL?

You cannot reference packaged constants from pure SQL. You could replace the argument
DBMS_CRYPTO.ENCRYPT_AES128 + DBMS_CRYPTO.CHAIN_CBC + DBMS_CRYPTO.PAD_PKCS5,with the equivalent constants, i.e.
6 + 256 + 4096Of course, that isn't likely to be nearly as readable and/or maintainable as the first approach.

Invoke Java Library from Flex

I have Flex running on Tomcat with LCDS. On tomcat there is a JAR that has classes I'd like to use/interact with from Flex. In the simple LCDS examples they demonstrate having a Product.java class and a matching Product.as class, but the java library I am trying to use has many more classes and would take a long time to copy into Actionscript.
What is the best way to interact with the Java classes (I don't have a web service to use like in the LCDS example).

I only know we can use JNI to invoke native libraries
from Java and I have never used JNI to invoke Java
libraries from native applications (C/C++ programs).

Most of my applications are in c++, i have one application in java.
How can I invoke the java application(jar) from c++ code?

Hi We can do this by using EXTERN C functionality provided by c++ ,
by using this we can call the Java functions from Java .class file.
or .jar file.
(for java developers ......its similer to JNI)

Is there a way to remove my phone from an iCloud account without a password?

Ok. So a long time ago, around 3-4 years ago, my girlfriend at the time gave me her old iPhone 3GS as she had gotten a new one. Rather than resetting the device in any way I just kept using it with my SIM card. I have now just gotten an iPhone 4S and have set up from the back up of my 3GS. It keeps asking me to sign in to iCloud with my (now ex-) girlfriend's Apple ID. It keeps popping up and it's really annoying. Is there any way that I can remove this.
After reviewing the posts here I have found a way I can remove it from iCloud but I have to log in to her Apple account, something that I cannot do. Why is her account even tied to this phone?? It has nothing to do with her, it must have been pulled from my backup when I activated, right? If I reformat the device (and lose all my data :@) Will this fix the issue or will it completely lock out the phone from activation without her ID?
It seems rediculous that the phone that I purchased somehow believes it belongs to my ex-girlfriend. Any way around this that any one knows of? Preferably whilst also being able to keep my data if possible. I have no interest in using any iCloud features, but I really do not want this device to be registered to her account. Also, since I have never actually logged into her account with this phone, will it show on her account when she logs into iCloud??

Whether or not what happened is ridiculous or should or should not have happened is a question for another time and place. You should definitely submit feedback to Apple about it:

Regardless of why it happened or whether it should have happened, the only way to remove the activation lock is to contact Apple. You should be able to do it over the phone. You may be required to send them the original proof of purchase. Use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page.
Once you get the phone working again, do NOT restore it from you existing back up or you will, most likely, be right back where you started.

I have a taskflow and I am currently in a ui page which displays a page fragment inside this task flow. In this page, on click of a button, I need to call another task flow and show it in a adf popup. Is this the case referred in the pdf document that you pointed out?

How to invoke math functions from dbx?

Is there an easy way to invoke math functions from dbx? If I try, for example, to call sqrt I get meaningless results:
(dbx) print sqrt(4.0)
sqrt(4) = 1074790400
(dbx)
This is from code which uses sqrt, so sqrt should be accessible. Does this need some kind of cast?

It turns out that this is a bit different than it looks: dbx is indeed able to invoke functions invoked in this way correctly; dbx just fails to print a sensible return value.
I tried with the following small function:

Compiling this without -g, linking this with some hello world program and invoking the function from dbx gives

The line "This is 4" clearly indicates that the function has been invoked correctly. Just the printed return value is meaningless. In this case, it is even possible to construct expressions with the return value:
(dbx) print 5 + ((int (*)(double))printme)(4.0)
This is 4
5+((int (*)(double)) printme)(4) = 13
i.e. dbx "knows" the correct return value 8. This does, however, apparently not work with return values of type double (i.e. in the original sqrt-Example).
I have therefore submitted a bug report with bugs.sun.com; I will post the BugID when (and if) this has been accepted.

Invoking an rfc from a repository filter

Hi,
I have to invoke an ABAP rfc from a repository filter.
To invoke an rfc using JCo or Connector Framework, we need the "request (of type IPortalComponentRequest)" object.
Is this object available with in the filter?
Or is there any other way to invoke an rfc from a Repository Filter?

The notion of "IPortalComponentRequest" makes no sense withing a repository filter.
Imagine a repository manager which is queried by some automatically running tasks on the server (e.g. nightly created reports). You don't have something like a request there!
I don't know rfc, so there might be other options which don't need the request.

I heard that OCX are deprecated features for Forms 9i (9.0.2) and higher. Is there anyother way to invoke the same from forms9i and higher versions.
We need to do this one of our customer. In forms10g oracle completely removed that option from the tool bar.

Because Active X can't run in a standard-java-environment like the Forms-Service in your client-browsers generic applet, you have to search for new widgets that do the same in Java and not in OCX.

Has anyone found a way to use the Epson Print Utility with an Airport?

I have an Epson Photo 2200 connected to the USB port of my Time Capsule. Everything has been working great until recently. Now I cannot use Epson Printer Utility unless I connect the printer directly to my Mac via the USB port. It does not find the printer. Connected directly, Epson Print Utility2 works properly. Epson Print Utility3 does not find the printer, even when connected directly. Reading the various discussion threads, I am not alone and the problem is with many, if not all of the Epson printers. The Utility worked fine at one time but appears to have quit working over the network probably around OS upgrade 10.5.2. In addition, you must use the Gutenprint driver when installing the printer. Epson's gives an error.
Has anyone found a way to use the Epson Print Utility with an Airport print server with OS 10.5.2 or later?

Before receiving this reply, I had other problems with the Gutenprint driver. I'm not sure what I did but after playing around for about a day, the Epson driver finally worked while connected through the USB port. The printer then worked with the Airport. The print utility still doesn't work without being directly connected. (It used to work while connected to the Airport. Until recently, I never connected the printer directly to a computer.)
