"Finishing Backup" for more than 24 hours. Took 3 day to get there

Something's obviously not right with my Time Capsule.
The 200GB backup took 3 days (over WiFi... I know... I know... should've done by Ethernet but I was already halfway through when I considered that option).
Now for more than 24 hours it has been "Finishing Backup". I have the latest time capsule updates.
Anyone knows a solution for this?

I saw something similar when I hooked up the Time Capsule to be the main internet router (dropping the internet connection and generally poor performance). I have a couple of the older Airport Extremes (Fast Ethernet) so I took one of the older Extremes and set it up as the main router (connected to cable modem) and just hung the TC off of that one via ethernet. Things seem must better now. I'm seeing backup speeds now in the 5-8 MB/s with my MacBook Pro connected directly to the TC via ethernet. Only trouble is I've not gotten a successful backup yet in multiple attempts over the last 5 days. Gets several GB into it and errors out saying it couldn't copy files to the backup volume. My wife's 20" iMac completed it's backup successfully on the very first try, over wireless no less (802.11n). I'm just about ready to chuck this thing.

any option is there in cpio for backup files more than 2gb?

The cpio command is not enabled for files greater than 2GB in size due to limitations imposed by XPG/4 and POSIX.2 standards.
cpio does not preserve the sparse nature of any file that is sparsely allocated. Any file that was originally sparse before the restoration will have all space allocated within the filesystem for the size of the file.

Can Time Machine perform encrypted backups for more than one computer to the same external drive?

I have two MBPs. The older MBP, with 1TB of storage, now contains two other MBP clones, for a total of 3 user machines on 1 MBP). I'd like to back up both my newest MBP, and the older MBP with the 2 clones, to my new 5TB drive (via wi-fi). I want to encrypt these backups, but am unclear whether it is possible. Does TM first encrypt the drive itself, or is each back up separately encrypted? I understand that if I wanted to encrypt an existing Time Matters backup on a drive, the prior data would be erased and reformatted, but here I am working with a new backup drive, on which one encrypted backup has been performed.
I just don't want to overwrite this existing backup (which was for my newest MBP).

You should have prepared the drive better..
The drive should have been partitioned. It is possible to load the backups.. but you can get into trouble.

Since partitioning at this point would destroy the existing backup.. the best way is to setup a disk image for each of the other Macbook backups and then mount the disk image and use that for the TM backup..
Encrypting the drive or the backup.. that is something I avoid.. backups to me are useless if I forget or lose the key.. apple have warned lose the key.. the backup is useless..

Can Time Machine backups for more than one Mac be sent to the same external hard drive?

It's pretty straightforward, really. We have two Macs, both running Mountain Lion. Can we use the same external hard drive for Time Machine backups of both?

It would be best to partition the HDD - one volume for each Mac (you cannot partition a Time Capsule).
Note that by doing so, you will lose both backups should the drive fail.

It's very possible that you have stuff running in the background that you don't even realize you have running. For example the default is for all notifications to be on and you usually need few to none of them.
That said, while an iPad can run warm, too hot to handle isn't right. ALso you should get about 10 hours....depending on what you're doing of course. If you're doing processor intensive stuff, like gaming and videos it can drain faster and generate more heat.
I would say if you have an apple store near by, make an appointment and have them check it out. If the issue is due to what they determine to be manufacturer's defects then it could fall under the warranty. But that's up to the store to determine.

Sap can't calc overtime for more than 24 hours in a day

Dear experts,
I'm having problem currently with overtime, because of the following condition
1. The employee worked on saturday (let's say this was 9 jan 2010) and monday (10 jan 2010) where in both of those days, the employee should not work (FREE Work schedule)
2. The employee worked from 09.01.2010 at 6PM until 10.01.2010 at 8PM (26 hours)
3. we're using time events, so the clock in and clock out are noted in IT 2011 with the following :
    -in:09.01.2010 6PM
    -out:10.01.2010 8PM (but with assigned to prev day indicator set)
4. The overtime approval using IT 2007 is defined using this one record :
    -begda:09.01.2010     endda:10.01.2010
    -time:6PM - 8PM.
5. We can't separate the overtime entry in 2011 into two separate record, because of progressive rate of overtime. (i.e for first 10 hours of overtime, you get $10, for the next 10-20 you get $20, and so on)
However the resulting time evaluation only calculate overtime from :
09.01.2010 18.00.00 - 20.00.00 (2 hours)
10.01.2010 42.00.00 - 44.00.00 (2 hours)
for total 4 hours,
We've tried :
1. creating two of 2007 record for :
     -09.01.2010 6PM-00.00 (6 hours)
     -10.01.2010 00.00 - 8PM (20 hours)
    => result : only the first six hours were taken into account
2. create one 2007 record for :
    -09.01.2010 - 10.01.2010, with time 00:00 - 24.00
    => result : we got 26 hours. However the attendance quota shouldn't contain full day time (00:00 to 24:00), because if the employee fill the 2011 with more than he/she should eligible, he/she will get those also.
3. create one 2007 record for :
    -09.01.2010 - 09.01.2010 with hours : 26 (using unit instead of time), but if the time contains minutes (such as 18:02 or 20:18) this will needs to be calculated manually, which will be a hassle.
where what we need is total 26 hours, with using attendance quota, than can span days, but without filling manually the hour. Or perhaps something similar. Any idea how to achieve that in SAP ?

this reply is related to option 1 as mentioned in your post. Can't tell for 100% whether the following makes any sense as I have never recorded overtime in IT2007. (I normally use IT2002).
But in most of my previous projects where not all recorded overtime was calculated, this was often to a missing selection rule in T554S.

Depends on how strong your wifi connection is.
you can try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.

Attach Database running for more than 2 days

I have a sql sever 2005 database of SAP development which is having a deferred transaction error while DBCC. After restart the SQL log says the below. Still the DBCC error exists.

PSE8 Backup/Synchronization not working for more than a month

1. Reconnecting files shows that a file is not connected; however, no file is listed. How do I find missing file's properties.
2. Backup/synchronization preferences works fine.
3. I can select one or more or the whole catalog.
4. The twirly icons show next to the album(s) for a second or show but then the synced icon remains in album/albums.
5. I click OK and after the hour glass shows a while, it finishes.
6. I click on icon and see that sychronization is on.
7. If I check (unsynced items, synced items, or items marked for sync) it shows nothing and says that none of those choices matches.
8. I have repaired and reindexed countless times (never has there been a "repair" problem.
9. I click on optimize and that works.
10. After that I notice "generating thumb nails" and the twirly thing moving. I've let it generate thumbnails for more than 24 hours and it's still going.
I have spent countles hours during day and night, and I can't get it to work.
I noticed that someone wrote that he had a similar problem that began with his using the IPAD. And I started using the IPAD also, but I couldn't sync my files with photoshop.com before that.
Customer service and Help provides me with no answers. What should I do?

Sorry to hear about the troubles.
On your #1, you may have disconnected files of media types that are not visible. To ensure that all media types are visible, go to View > Media Types, and check any items that are not currently checked. Then try the Reconnect.
As far as backup/sync not working, disconnected files can stop sync from working.
After resolving the disconnected files issue, let us know if sync is not working. We may need to look at the sync log to determine why.
As for the Organizer constantly generating thumbnails, this could indicated that you have many files, for example 10,000, in your catalog.
If you have many files in your catalog, then you may need to just wait for the process to finish.
It may also indicate a problem with the thumbnail cache that can't be repaired by the Optimize command.
You can manually reset this file by doing the following:
Determine the name of your Elements Organizer catalog.
The name of the catalog appears in the lower-left of the Organizer.
    Alternatively, you can open the Organizer and then click File > Catalog. The name of the catalog will show in the list at the bottom with " [current]" after it.
Close the Elements Organizer.
Navigate in Windows Explorer to the folder that contains your catalog. Here are the default locations:
   Windows 7 or Vista: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\<CATALOG NAME>
Click Start, type "%ProgramData%" (including the quotation marks) into the Start Search, and then press Enter.
Open each folder in the above structure until you have opened the catalog folder.
   Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\<CATALOG NAME>
Choose Start > Run, type "%AllUsersProfile%\Application Data" (including the quotation marks) in the Open text box, then press Enter or click OK.
Open each folder in the above structure until you have opened the catalog folder.
   NOTE: Replace <CATALOG NAME> with the name of the catalog that you determined in Step 1 above.
There should be a file called thumb.5.cache, which is the thumbnail cache. Delete this file.
The next time you open the Elements Organizer, the thumbnail cache will begin to rebuild. This may take some time, depending on the number of files you have in the catalog.

Hai, I am using Sony xperia C4 which i bought 20 days back My problem is when i keep my phone idle(i.e not using it for more than 7 hours), and then when i press the power button back, the screen turns black and not responding too. notification lights were on, and once i force shutdown my phone ,then the phone restarts and back to normal.. and that time my battery was in 20-30%... I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

HP LaserJet 1300 not connected for more than 1 day

Since Apple came out with the Yosemite printing system, I cannot print wirelessly for more than one day. I have reset my modem, changed the location of my network, unplugged and repowered Airport Extreme, started in Safe Mode, and more.
No matter what I do: I either get: a printer name with a number in parenthese or a long Bonjour number when deleting and adding a printer on my laptop.
Whatever I do, it only works from about 24 to 36 hours. Then when i go to print it says Printer is Not Connected. I can delete and add again, usually it will find the printer, add it, print, and then a day or two later, the printer is not connected again.
But I have to keep redoing this both to my laptop and my wife's, and we have not had reliable printing since Yosemite cane out about October 18, 2014.

Router: Airport Extreme
The only thing I have not done I can think of is reset Airport Extreme. I can do that, but don't know if I will then have additional problems.
This all started with the YIosemite update but at this point I don't know if it is an HP-related problem or a general Yosemite-related problem.
I appreciate any help I can get. Have wasted probably 40 hours over two-plus months trying to get this fixed. When Apple could not fix it back in October, the person referred me to HP. The person at HP Business did not know my printer was supported for Yosemite although his own web site said it was. So that was not much help And after resetting printers, deleting and adding printers, etc., I don't know what else to do.

Thanks Shootist007, by blockd files I mean files that I have changed to blocked and when I tried to move then for the first time, I had to unblock again. I am trying to backup my pictures, my songs and other files like word documents and excel tables. First I put all of them as blocked, what caused the first problems on trying to move them. Then, I've unchecked the block option and if I try to move one by one, there is no problem. The issue is to move all together, because it gets stuck in the preparing to copy files step. Anyway, if I cannot do all by once, I'll do it one by one, event though that was not suposed to happen if we are talking about technology, right? Anyway, I thank you again for trying to help me!

Many apple phone users are especially fed up with RSGI Communication , Erandwana, Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Allthough Mr Punit ( Technical Dept. Apple.) had requested RSGI to chance the device, still RSGI said they do not have the device ( I phone 5, white ,16GB) in stock.
Today when we contacted them they said they won't be able to replace OR order to Apple unless and until we do not keep the device with them for 3 days.

Quota deduction when EE has been inactive for more than 180 days / Advance quota days when employee does not have enough balance

Dear experts,
We have two requirements regarding to the "Anual leave" quota.
1. Quota reduction when employee is inactive for more than 180 days
2. Advance quota days when employeee does not have enough balance
We have in place an "Anual Leave" quota related to a calendar year period, that gets generated dialy in time evaluation. This quota gets the employee entitlement from a set of rules that stored the corresponding balance in a period time type, that is the one that we defined in the customizing. This is working fine. The problems start when we try to incorporate the other two requirements.
Regarding the first requirement, if the employee has been inactive for more than 180 days in a calendar year due to unpaid leave, we need to start quota reduction as follow,
First, we need to clear the balance that was calculated above in the schema.
Then, we need to calculate one leave day for every 20 days worked till the end of the year, considering as such, everyday the employee is expected to work, except days on which the employee has been absent on unpaid leave.
For the second requirement we created a manual quota call "Advance Anual Leave". So, if the employee, wishes to take 20 working days holiday, but in his/her Anual Leave quota has only 10 days available, we have to create an "Advance Anual Leave" quota manualy for 10 days. When the quota for next year gets generated, we need to deduct these advanced 10 days from it. This deduction should stop the year after.
The problem we are finding with these two requirements is that, due to the Anual Leave quota gets generated dialy, we can't get the balance right.
