Firefox 5 keeps downloading after closing

Firefox 5 continues downloading after closing it. For example, in youtube after watching a video I close the tab. But, still my network monitor showing some thing is downloading. Then I used TCPview provided by microsoft to see who is using the bandwidth. And I see that firefox is downloading something. This is a very big problem. Please solve it fast...

  • Why does my emails keep downloading after deleting them?

Why does my emails keep downloading after deleting them?

It sounds like you may be "synced" to an IMAP email server with your ISP.  You would need to go into Mail>Preferences and set the messages to be removed from the IMAP server after some period of time so they don't redownload to your computer.  That's one possiblility.  Another is if you are synced with iCloud, then the mail is stored on your iCloud server backup and will redownload until you remove it.
    Hope this helps

  • Firefox keeps downloading dlg.zip on occaision at startup, what is supposed to be done with this file ?

Every few days Firefox keeps downloading dlg.zip at startup meaning that my download manager catches this zip file at startup, I use IDM but the issue appears to be Firefox as there is a dlg folder in Firefox installation folder. What am I supposed to do with this zip file as it appears to contain exactly what is already in the installation folder.

Those folders seem to be related to a Conduit "community toolbar" add-on. If you check your add-ons list, do you have such an extension?
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
The list is alphabetical within two different groups: enabled and disabled (grayed out).

  • Firefox keeps crashing and closing after I've used HP Photosmart software

As title. I'm using Firefox 35.0.1 but the last few versions of FF have done this too.
After I've done any scanning with HP Photosmart scanning software Firefox keeps closing with a send-error-report box if I switch to a different tab or scroll up or down with the mousewheel. It does this almost immediately every time I restart FF and the problem is only solved by rebooting my laptop.
I updated all my drivers including nVidia drivers about ten days ago but it hasn't made a difference and tbh it doesn't seem like a graphics error to me anyway. This problem has gone on for several versions of FF now and I don't really have time to reboot my laptop every time I use my printer :( Maybe it is down to the HP software, but Chrome, Opera and IE don't have this issue, only FF, and using other browsers only serves to remind me how much I really prefer FF over all the others LOL x

Please provide some Crash Report ID's.
Follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
''' Note:''' If a recent Report ID does not start with '''bp-''' click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

  • I have customized my Firefox toolbar. After closing the browser and then reopening it, the toolbar has returned to the way it was before I customized it. How do I get my customization of the toolbar to become permanent?

I have customized my Firefox toolbar several times. After closing the browser and then reopening it, the toolbar has returned to the way it was before I customized it each time. How do I get my customization of the toolbar to become permanent?
It has occurred with Firefox 4.0.1 and 5.0

    see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
Take a picture of your toolbars so you can easily reconstruct them from the default after solving the the problem.
If it happens to you it will probably happen again in the future so you might want to keep some copies of your modified localstore.rdf file so you can delete the bad one and rename one of the replacements in waiting. Saving, copying and renaming must be done with Firefox down, of course.

  • Firefox keeps crashing after Lollipop update on HTC One M8. Won't even open!

After updating my firmware/software to the new Lollipop OS, Firefox keeps crashing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling directly from the Googe Play Store and still nothing. When I click the Firefox icon the browser opens and then I immediately get a "We're Sorry, Firefox has crashed" notification. How can this be remedied? I've downloaded Dolphin Browser and might just not come back to Mozilla unfortunately if this continues...

i would suggest the following steps:
    1. goto application manager, find firefox, press all available button to clear everything.
if it doesn't work, proceed with:
    2. uninstall firefox
    3. turn off the phone, boot into recovery mode and wipe the cache (this is NOT hard reset and you will not lose your stuff).
    4. reboot and reinstall firefox
    hope it helps!

  • TV Pilot that keeps downloading after deletion

I have one TV pilot I downloaded years ago.  It keeps downloading every time I connect to iTunes to my PC or apple devices.  I delete the download, but everytime I connect to iTunes, it tries to download again.  Is there a way to delete tv pilots so they never download again?  Also, when using Apple TV can you delete previous TV programs you purchase for free so you can erase their history from your account?

It appears that the Droid sees a particular E-mail coming from your Comcast server and sees another E-mail coming from your Outlook. Droid may be a smartphone, yet it can not see that these two E-mails are the exact same. You might try turning of the synchronization between the Droid and your Outlook. I get the same thing with a different scenario. I have Hotmail and Roadrunner. So, I get the very same E-mail in Hotmail and Roadrunner and Gmail. Triplicates! I just delete the excess baggage. But, as I said previously, I would just turn of the synchronization between Droid and Outlook. That might solve your duplication problem.
Sorry for the confusion.  The problem is only between my Droid and my Comcast server.  I leave messages on my server, but delete them on my Droid, and then the Droid downloads the messages again from the server, like it is new.

  • Adobe 11.0.3 keeps running after closing the program and uses all cpu

After closing Adobe reader it remains in the background on task manager and uses about 25% of CPU for each instance, each time a pdf is closed it adds another instance in the background, when there are four my cpu is maxed out.  I have to use my computer with task manager always running so I can end task each time I close a PDF.  I tried the solution stopping welcome screen with registry fix and other fixes for prior versions, none help.  Running Windows 8.

In order to deploy via GPO, you need to create AIP (Administrative Installation Point) for Reader 11.0 and then patch that AIP with 11.0.04 to create AIP of 11.0.04
    Method:
    1. Extract Reader 11.0.4 exe via the following command line,
    AdbeRdr11004_en_US.exe -sfx_o"<extraction_path>" -sfx_ne
e.g. if you want to extract to c:\temp_folder
you should run the following command,
    AdbeRdr11004_en_US.exe -sfx_o"c:\temp_folder" -sfx_ne
You should see the following six files in c:\temp_folder,
    ABCPY.INI
    AcroRead.msi
    AdbeRdrUpd11004.msp
    Data1.cab
    setup.exe
    Setup.ini
    2. Now navigate to "C:\temp_folder" folder to create AIP for 11.0 in "C:\Rdr11AIP" and follow the wizard
    msiexec /a AcroRead.msi TARGETDIR="C:\Rdr11AIP"
    3. Now navigate to "C:\Rdr11AIP" to create AIP for 11.0.4 in C:\Rdr11AIP" and follow the wizard
    msiexec /a AcroRead.msi TARGETDIR="C:\Rdr11AIP" PATCH=<"Path to 11.0.04 patch location">
for this example, "Path to 11.0.04 patch location" is going to be "c:\temp_folder\AdbeRdrUpd11004.msp"
    So the command would be,
    msiexec /a AcroRead.msi TARGETDIR="C:\Rdr11AIP" PATCH="c:\temp_folder\AdbeRdrUpd11004.msp"
    4. You will see following files in your "C:\Rdr11AIP" folder,
    AcroRead.msi
    Common
    CommonAppData
    program files
    Win
    Windows
    5. Now copy the contents of this folder to your network location and link the AcroRead.msi file in the Group Policy Editor, you are now ready the deploy 11.0.04
    Hope, it helps.

  • Toolbar search engines keep reappearing after closing Firefox after "Managing" and unchecking "Show search engines" box. Why?

I have gone to "Manage Search Engines", deleted the ones I don't want, and unchecked the "Show search engines" box several times. Every time I close and re-open Firefox all of the original search engines are back in the list. Why is this, and how do I fix it?

Hello AleishaDawn1980, default search engines are stored in the Firefox [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory installation directory] in the "searchplugins" folder, you can find and delete the "*.xml" file (e.g., "google.xml") if you like.
If the search engine you want to delete is a newly-installed(you install it) then it is store in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox profile folder] again in the "searchplugins" folder, find it and delete it.
    thank you

  • Firefox process keeps running after closing

If i close Firefox i cannot reopen it afterwards because the process is still running in the taskbar.
I already disabled all plugins and addons but this didn't work.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall (without deleting personal data) without success.
If i start firefox in safe mode the problem also occures.

  • After installing Firefox 5, why, after closing and reopening the programme, do I seem to have lost most of the new features?

After installing Firefox 5, replacing my previous version (4.5), I could see the new features. However, having closed and reopened Firefox, it seems as though it has reverted to the previous version, even though 'Help - About' says I'm running on version 5.0.
I had to download 5.0 from the Mozilla website, as I tried to update via the update tool in 4.5, but it claimed I was fully up to date, even though I have 5.0 on another machine (which works perfectly).

Can you please describe the "new features" that you saw first time you opened Firefox 5?
    Thank you.

  • Videos continue to download after closing tabs

When i view a video in firefox then close the tab half way through the video my network meter says that something is still being downloaded. In my avg task manager it says firefox is still using my connection. but also if I close firefox and its processes Resource Monitor on my windows still says firefox is using it but the application is closed. I have done a system restore but failed because I noticed this started in the last 2 days and the only thing I have recently install was adobe update. I have uninstalled firefox and re-installed it. also ran avg anti virus and malwarebytes

I don't know if its a setting in avg. the plugin container I would actually end that process in task manager and network would still be downloading. The user.js file I think is because I like Firefox to save my tabs when I close it to resume my last session. I'm gonna try re-installing avg to see if that fixes it. Thnx for ur suggestions.
