First BT bill gigantic

Hi, I am new to the forum, and I am struggling to understand the massive first bill, I would really appreciate if anyone could shed some light.
I have a bt broadband and calls package (10gb limit).
I suddenly get a first bill which, incidentally has a second phone line which we never requested, and which we are not aware of (which makes me weary to start with), but more to the point, the bill claims we have used around 90GB over our download limit in two months (and thus we have to pay £90 extra). This sounds like absolute nonsense, and we never received a notification that we went over the 10gb to start with.
I am trying to figure out how did this happen, (if it did), which computer in our small network has used up such an enormous amount of data, but of course the mybt usage monitor is down for the last couple of days.
Is there any way I can check how was the data downloaded, and any way that I can limit the total usage of each computer in the network?
We have all the security set to wpa&wpa2 option, so I understand it is unlikely someone is leaching our line.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
UPDATE: I have tried to ring this second unrequested/unused (but billed) 2nd telephone line, an i get a "the number has not been recognized" message from a landline, and a continuous tone from a mobile phone.

we have had major issues with BT too, they set up 2 accounts for us, and have charged us rediculous amounts for broadband and phone line, we have left them last month and thought all our problems were over, but how wrong were we, today i checked my bank statement and they have taken a direct debit out, when i phoned them they said i was due a refund anyway, but when i questioned them as to why they took another payment, he couldnt really explain it, and of course they cant give me an immediate refund as my account is closed, so i have to wait for them to contact me with my refund, and they wonder why people are leaving them, guess i will be contacting OFFCOM to get them to investigate, I suggest if you are not happy with the second line that you never requested you also contact OFFCOM Sorry for hijacking your post but i am really annoyed with BT

  • First Generated Bill DOUBLE what I expected!!!

I just received my first generated bill.  It is DOUBLED what I expected!!!  I changed plans in the middle of the month to increase my calling minutes and I added four "friends and family."  They added $120.00 in "Monthly Access Fees."  This is after the fact I have not received my $100 Blackberry Rebate!!!
Is this what I can expect from Verizon every month????  Off I go to the Mass. Attorney General's office.

Additional charges on the first bill may be due to prorating for a partial month, then full billing for the next month (as budone stated).  Changing plans in the middle of the month also pro-rates your minutes for each part of the month, and can drastically increase your bill.  For instance, if you were on a 700 minute plan, and changed at the midpoint to 1400 minutes, the first half of the month's allowance would be 350 minutes; so if you were at, say, 500 minutes by that point, then you would be charged with 150 overage minutes.  If this is what happened, then you should call Customer Service (as has been suggested multiple times) and ask them to BACKDATE the plan change to cover the entire first month of service.
Also, your Friends and Family numbers do NOT apply to the whole month, just from the day they were added.  Any calls made to those numbers before they were added to your account will subtract from your allowance.
Hope you get this all worked out....

  • First 50 bills for the customers will get discount

    Hi Experts,
I am creating a promotion in SAP POS like  First 50 bills for the customers will get 20 percent discount for a particular date range and as the 51st bill created this promo should not apply
I am unable to create this promo. Is it possible to create this promotion in SAP POS (SAP Triversity) and if yes then what would be the procedure to create this promo in SAP POS (SAP Triversity) ?
Prompt response will be highly appriciated.

    Hi Vikas,
You can check in Promotion Criteria, if such provision exists,
But I suppose 2 option exists:
    a. Promotional prices for a single PLU
    b. Promotional prices for a group of PLUs
Defining of range also talks about defining a range (high-low ) within which the price of the items must fall to be eligible for the promotion
You can tweak on some other things, Pricing Method section,Pricing Target Type field or others to see this scenario of your's is possible or not in SAP POS.
    Hope it helps.

  • How do I get Verizon Wireless to honor what the store personnel told me, which I agreed to and was reflected on the estimate of my first monthly bill?

I previously had a $60 per month loyalty package with 2 GB for my smart phone.  On 1/31/15, I purchased a tablet at the store to go with my  phone, because the sales rep  told me she could reduce the total monthly charge for the phone to $30 per month at 1 GB and add the tablet for $10 per month. The store specifically said the total monthly charge (before taxes and fees) would be $40.  I just received the first bill, where the monthly charge is double at $80.  The Verizon supervisor said he would credit the first month overcharge, but that I would be stuck paying the doubling of the charge for the remaining time period.   Totally unacceptable.  I have been a Verizon customer for years and am completely dissatisfied with Verizon's failure to honor their agreement.

What are you talking about?? This is what he said above:
I have copies of the two electronic receipts signed by me - one for the purchase of the tablet and one for the monthly charges.  Neither receipt references an extra $40 "line access fee."
Hence he has a receipt for the monthly charge which does not reflect an extra $40 bucks... So you are saying employees should not be held accountable for misrepresentation? And its the customers fault if its not reflected in a customer agreement? Verizon is liable because it was their employee.

  • Credit on First Verizon Bill??

Has anyone signed a new 2-year agreement with Verizon through Best Buy recently during a promotion for a $40 credit on your first bill? If so, did you get it? I did not receive the credit, called Verizon. They said they saw no notes on my account for a bill credit. Called Best Buy. Best Buy called Verizon. Was told that it can take up to 3 billing cycles for the credit to appear. I've been a Verizon customer for 10 years and I've never been as uncomfortable as I am right now. I'm not happy about the new "upgrade fee" (why should I pay you a fee for my giving you money in exchange for a phone?? and why should I pay you for signing another contract??) But that's not Best Buy's problem. However, I was told that the credit for the promotion would cover that. Now my bill is $160. I'm not happy.

Upgrade fees have been around for years on all major carriers except Verizon, until recently. As for the $40 bill credit, it is true that it may take a few billing cycles. This is an automatic credit and would not require any special notes on your account. Both of the above are on Verizon's end.

  • Fees and services added to first month bill

I just signed up today for the Performance Internet service.  It is an internet-only plan.  The service is $24.99 and the installation fee was $39.99 despite me opting to provide all of my own equipment.  These were the only fee/items listed when I checked out. My account on the site has been setup and when I went to view my first bill, the installation fee is listed at $59.95.  Additionally, my account is apparently waiting for TV service and internet to be activated but I specifically signed up for an internet only plan.  How do I go about correcting this?

    Hello Sickvisionz,
I'm sorry for your troubles. I've sent you a private message to discuss your account concerns further.
    Thank You!

  • Overage Charge for prior month on first bill

Got my first Verizon bill today and found something interesting.  I was charged for going over my data for the prior month to the tune of $15 for a gig.  Problem is, I've only had the phone for a month and there is no prior month on my account!
Or at least there shouldn't have been.  Looks like my billing cycle started the day after I got the phone, so all the data from setting up my phone in store was overage.  This is crap.  Anyone else notice this?

That one day of the prior billing cycle was prorated based on the data plan you selected and divided by the number of days in the billing cycle.

  • First bill from AT&T

Hi all, I was wondering what the final cost of the phone bill would be if one selects the $39.99 voice plan along with the iPhone Data plan? I just was hit with a bill of almost $80! Is this normal? I was well within the 450 daytime minutes and so there are no extra charges on my plan. Does almost $20 of taxes seem right?

Sounds like your activation fee might be in that bill also. I have the 900 min/month plan with the RAZR and I was charged about $85 to $89 per month with phone insurance and some variation in text and data. I check the ball game scores every so often. I haven't gotten my first Iphone bill from them yet but I expect it to be about $105 and I expect my rolling block of 3500 rollover minutes to remain secure. I might invest the extra $25.00 month to the international plan since I've been burned in Canada a few times roaming on Rogers network after roaming in Canada it was not unusual for my bill to exceed $250 at times.

  • Fixed due date for billing created in a period

    Hi
We want the new payment tem that should work in the following way
Billing date from 01.01.2008 to 31.03.2008 due date should be 20.04.2008
Billing date from 01.04.2008 to 30.06.2008 due date should be 20.07.2008
Please note that the billing period is for three month for which we want a fixed due date.
We required the expert's comment on the above scenario
    Regards
    DILIP PARAB

    Hi Dilip
This can be configured in the payment terms (OBB8).  Here under baseline date calculation
Fixed Day should be 20 (in your case)
    Additional Months       3
then select posting date as default for baseline date.
This will take for every month invoice 3 months.
But in your case as you stated 1.1.2008 to 31.3.2008 it should be standard 20.4.2008 u have to create 3 payment terms as above with a difference of additional months, one for 3 (for the first month billing), second one as 2 (for second month billing) and 3 rd one as 1 (for 3 rd month billing).  You can attach the respective payment terms at the time of your sale order creation.
    Any additional help revert back.

  • How to bill the customer as per billing plan according to a contract

    Hello All
Plz help  me out I am  stuck, scenerio is I am doing a contract with Perodic billing plan for every month. in contract the billing date shows rightly. but when I do vf01 for first month billing it shows all the billing plan days . but when I select first date for billing system allows me to save the bill. but later when I again go for vf01 for next month billing from putting the same contract no it shows a log stating that "paritially processed". Plz show me the path how to bill th customer on every month. is my process is right or any alternative Please suggest. I am waiting eagerly. thankx in advance.

    Hi  Mohan ,
In the periodic billing plan, you can adjust conditions to the length of
the period, only if you use the following calculation type for the
    condition:
                 M     quantity - monthly price
                 N     quantity - yearly price
                 Q     quantity - daily price
                 P     quantity - weekly price
In this case the pricing determins correctly a prorated value
according to the lenght of the period in the billing plan.
Please check your conditions and use in a periodic billing plan
only conditions which have the mentioned calculation type. Otherwise
you will get every time the same value for a 'long' period or a
    'short' period.

  • Progress Billing with Downpayment and Retention

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I just wanted to check if you have encountered a scenario wherein the purchase is billed progressively and that downpayments and retention are recognized for the purchase. For example:
    Total Contract Price: 9900000
    1. Downpayment (30%)                                           -  2,970,000.00
    2. First Progress Billing for 45% Accomplishment    - 2,673,000.00
        Value of Accomplishment           4,455,000.00
        Deductions
         10% Retention                       445,500.00
         30% Downpayment               1,336,500.00
         Subtotal                            1,782,000.00
    3. Second Progress Billing for 83% Accomplishment - 2,257,200.00
        Value of Accomplishment           8,217,000.00
        Deductions
         10% Retention                    821,700.00
         30% Downpayment               2,465,100.00
         1st Progress                    2,673,000.00
         Subtotal                         5,959,800.00
    And so on...
It is basically a scenario wherein the progress is based on the accomplishment and then the charges will be net of the downpayment and the retention. What I initially had in mind was to create the PO in 3 major segments, 1 PO item for the DP (30%), 1 PO item for the retention (10%) and the remaining 60% for the whole lot purchase.
Is there any other (better) way to go about this? I heard that there is a facility for downpayment and retention recognition via EHP4; however, I am not sure if it also accommodates mixing in progress billing.
Your responses will be most welcome.
    Best regards,
    DeLo

This problem "was because in the Accounting settings of "Reconciliation accounts (A/R, A/P)" [OB14],  the sales order field was suppressed. After unhiding this field, it started working fine as this is the field whch forms the link between the Downpayment recieved in the Accounting to be affected as a subsequent line item in the Billing Document.

  • Problem: software changes my Outlook contact info when synchronizing (cuts off part of first name)

When I sync, the BB software cuts off part of the first name of my Outlook contacts.  The problem seems to happen when I have a space in the first name (eg: First Name - Bill & Jane).  I have several of my contacts listed that way so I can see spouses of contacts easily.  I have never had this problem before with my other MS Op phone.  Thanks for your help.
Message Edited by friedchicken on 01-05-2009 01:23 AM

    I found out what happens.
Wherever the First Name filed on the BB contains a Blank (or Space) character, when synchronizing to MS Outlook, the content of the field is divided in two parts: the first part, before the Blank, is transferred to the Outlook First Name field, the second part, after the Blank, is transferred to the Outlook Middle Name  field.
This goes beyond the useser's intentions and is a nuisance, becuase you can of course turn around the problem after synchronization, by exporting the MS Outlook contacts to MS Access, or MS Excel, put the two fields together, and reimport them into MS Outlook. But you need to do that each time yoy synchronize.
It would be nice if RIM could fix the issue.

  • Billing of pre-selected orders in a specific sequence

    Hi,
my customer uses manual data entry of sales orders with data he gets from a bunch of papers thus generating a lot of sales orders each day. When the time comes to bill these orders - one bill per order - of different content (customers, billing dates etc.), he selects them using a client specific report - depending on application oriented criteria - and wants them afterwards be billed in a background job / without any further user interaction in the sequence of the order numbers.
The reason for it is, that he has to check the printed bills with the bunch of paper he used for data entry of the sales orders and he has to add some of these papers to the bills to be sent out via mail afterwards.
So the sequence of both has to be the same for obvious reasons. The sequence of the bunch of papers is reflected in the sales order numbers, the sequence of the bills in the bill numbers. Bill numbers are generated internally thus depending on the sequence in which the sales orders were billed.
I tried VF06 giving it sales order numbers to be billed in the proper sequence. But it seems that VF06 sorts these orders first by bill date and/or customers thus destroying the order of sales orders.
Additionally I tried a couple of VF06 runs, one per sales order. But these runs are computed in parallel thus again destroying my preselected sequence. If I could change the job attributes of such a sequence ob VF06 jobs - one depending on the finishing of the prevoius one, this would solve the problem. But unfortunately the jobs are already "planned" so that I can't add a dependency between them after creation via VF06.
Does anyone has a good idea? Additions to my suggestions above? Or fresh and new ideas?
Thank you very much in advance.
    GeraldS

    Hello Gerald,
sounds like a quite curios process.
The standard transactions (VF04/VF06) are more or less written to deal with mass processing, so i don't think you could influence them the way you need.
If you need the invoices in the order of the ordernumbers, the only way is to book them one by one using VF01.
You could use a background job if you write a little own program performing these steps:
    - selecting order-Number to be billed,
    - sorting them
    - calling vf01 for each order via call transaction
      ( with Update option 'S') .
Make sure that this program can only run  once in the system ( using an lock object).
As a small solution that could work.
A bigger (and better) solution would be scanning this 'bunch of paper', connecting the documents to the orders inside SAP.
    Regards Wolfgang

  • Had no luck trying to get a bill error fixed.

BT Sport is suposed to be free with bt broadband ( infinity 2 to be specific ) right?
Well I agreed to re-contract 12 months with that starting early feb 2015 with infinity 2 discounted, and paid a years line rental up front to boot and agreed that the package included BT sport for free ( Though i'm expecting to have to pay extra in the comming months for champions league so it should be discounted by £13.50) for 12 months,  and that i'd pay £3 a month BT Sport in HD and the £7.45  for unlimited lan line calls.
First 2 bills after the re contract are fine. the 3rd bill i get hit by this unexpected charge.
Recharge: FREE BT Sport PackW7 Feb-4 Apr 15 £ 26.04 We gave you a special offer discount on the full price of the product. We have adjusted the discount because it has either ended or changed
Which I quickly call up about and the customer service agent agrees this is wrong, This will be credited back to my account and count towards my next bill.
Now i'm buzy so i don't always get chance to check everything right away only to find i'm still being charged £6.75 for bt sport which should be free. If i'd have know this was going to happen and agreements would be broken i'd of gone with plusnet and got BT sport with them instead.
I've called again and taled to an indian guy who i'm not sure fully understood what has been happening, trying to get me re-contracted ( and i will be really anoyed if he did that ), but i already did that to get bt sport free.  I'm not sure if he fixed it or if i actually have the correct credit on my account from the months i should of been having BT sport free.
I now make it my next account should be £39.54 in credit to go towards my next bill ( which is more than my bill should be), how on earth do i get though to a anyone in customer services that can actually fix this properly, and not just talk a good game, convince me they have fixed it only to find out a month later that it isn't !
    Solved!

  • Verizon Billing / Account management confusing intentionally?

I've been a Verizon Customer for over 8 1/2 years.  My account has never been delinquent.  In September I bought the new iPhone 5 to replace the iPhone 4 I was using.  I left the Apple store in the mall and walked into the Verizon Wireless store 3 doors down.  I met with an 'Account' Specialist' and reviewed my account with him.   I had two standard lines that we were not using that were able to be cancelled a week after my store visit (9/29 - 10/02). We reviewed the different account options, and decided that the most cost effective way to go forward was to convert my account to shared data, give my iPhone 4 to my wife, and retain only the third of three standard cell phone line.  This was my father-in-laws that we had added to our account after the passing of my mother-in-law.  He did tell me that the charge for the standard lines was changing from $10 to $30, but this still made sense as my wife would be using my shared data plan, and two of the lines were being cancelled a week later.  The associate told me that the first months bill would be a 'few dollars more' than usual due to making the changes in the middle of the billing cycle.
October 2nd, my wife called to cancel the two standard lines on our account.  She was told at that point only one could be cancelled, the other was under contract until February.  She cancelled the first line.  When our bill came in October, it was approximately $40 higher than normal.  To me, a 20% hike was more than a 'few dollars more,' but we payed it.
In November my bill arrived.  It was $358. I called, admittedly a bit perturbed, but remained cool.  I explained to the account person the issue, and asked for an explanation.  She explained that the additional charges were due to the account being changed mid-billing cycle.  I asked about having the charges reverted and returning the plan to the original billing.  She said that she would look into it.  I asked about the mis-information given at the store level.  The supervisor in the billing department said she would call the store, and check in with me the following day.  Total call time was approximately 50 mins.
Four days later I called back.  I still hadn't heard anything.  I spoke with Tamara, a supervisor in the billing department again.  I asked her what the possibility of having the spare line cancelled, as the information I was given in the store was incorrect.  She said that there were 'no notes from my previous call, or that I was to get a call back... so she needed to  look into my account, and said she would call me back in regards reverting it to the original pricing.  We agreeded that she could call between 3 and 4 o'clock the next day, as I would be available.  She transferred me to the Loyalty department about the phone line.  I spoke with a lady there who said she'd be happy to cancel the line, but I would have to pay the $75.  I told her that it was unacceptable, and asked if she had my account information in front of her.  She confirmed that I had been a customer since April of 2004. She confirmed that I had never let my account go delinquent. I then asked her when my final contract would expire.  She gave me the date.  I asked her to make a note in my account to cancel all line effective immediately on that date.  She asked why, and I explained that after 8 and a half years if Verizon, a multi-billion dollar company couldn't waive a $75 fee to accommodate a documented 'good' customer, I would give AT&T a shot. She seemed taken back by the comment, and asked why I would do that.  I explained that I work in customer service (Ford), and that I, and my organization do make mistakes from time to time.  When I do, I go beyone the 'protocol' to take care of customers, especially those that have shown loyalty to my Company.  If my loyalty wasn't worth $75 to Verizon, I would gladly give another company a shot.  She kindly offered to split the charge.  I again reminded her of my history with Verizon, and said thank you, but that would not be acceptable to me.  She was silent for a moment, then said she would cancel the line at no charge.  I thanked her for her offer and accepted.  Total call time, 1 hour, 3 mins.
I called back the next day again.  Again, I had heard nothing from the supervisor who promised to call me between 3 and 4 o'clock.  I spoke with a customer service rep who was excellent.  She apologized for the inconvenience, and put me on hold and got an authorization to revert my account.  I was on the phone with her for an hour as she debited and credited my account accordingly.  When it was all said and done, my bill was reduced to $184.30.  WE looked at the monthly charges and my bill was to be around $190 + taxes monthly.  I thanked her for her diligence, hung up and immediately paid that amount online.  I thought this nightmare was finally over.
Today leaving church I logged onto the 'My Verizon' App on my phone.  My upcoming bill is now $400. I called again to try to get an explanation.  I spoke with the billing department and was transferred to a supervisor.  I started to explain the WHOLE issue again and the superintendent interrupted me and said 'We've done all we can do for you.  There will be no more credits issued.'  I asked her again why my bill was so high.  She said that there was a $157 past due amount from last month ago, and if I had payed my whole bill, it would be the correct amount of $243. I tried again to explain the issue, and she interrupted me and said explained there was nothing more she could do. I asked for her supervisor.  She said no one in the building could help me, I'd have to call back tomorrow (Monday) at 1PM, and even if I did, no one would help me.  She then wished me well, and hung up on me.  Total call time - 25 minutes ( at least it was quicker).
I called right back, got another Customer Assistant. I said that I would like to file a formal complaint about the previous supervisor I dealt with, and would like to talk to someone about my bill.  She was pleasant enough at first, but her demeanor changed as I failed to accept that my bill was partially unpaid the previous month.  She left me on a lengthy hold (20 minutes) while I waited to speak with yet another supervisor.  Also as a side note - She claimed that they could see that I called, and which call center I spoke with, but the supervisors names, and the names of those previously are not recorded unless they recorded them in the notes manually, or an account change was made.  As I was on hold, I reviewed my online bill.  I noticed that the phone line that the loyalty department had offered to cancel at no charge was still activated.  When she picked the line back up, she said that she had double checked my bill, and found that I was mistakenly charged two (2) $92 charges for line access, when there should have only been one.  She was removing that as well as a $9.99 fee for a line that should not have been there.  She made the changes and dropped my bill down to $300. I told her I appreciated her diligence, however the bill was still $100 too high. I told her that the credit and debit process was one that I did not need to understand completely. All that I, the end user, the consumer was concerned with was that my bill should be around $200 each month.  That's what I was told, and agreed to in previous calls.  She again began to grow short in temperament.  I asked if she could once more see this from my perspective. I got a new phone and went to the Verizon store to review account changes.  Based on the mis-information I made the decision to make the changes to my account and switch phones.  Because of the mis-information my bill was 175% it's normal amount.  Because of this I had spent hours and hours on the phone with customer assistance in multiple departments trying to get my billing fixed. Because of the changes that were made, and then made back, I was being billed an additional $100.  She said no, that the charge was for line access.  Again I questioned how I was being charged for past line access that I 'didn't pay previously' if my bill was ALWAYS paid.  She couldn't answer.  At this point I was 1 hour and 10 minutes into the call.  I said, 'congratulations, I concede.  I no longer have the will to fight.  You win...' and I asked to have the loyalty department for the line that was still being billed.
The loyalty department lady was nice as well.  She had me hold while she read my account notes (which surprisingly were lacking any information about my previous call.)  She put the line cancel through immediately, and said that she needed to get an ok from a supervisor for the line cancel credit (so that I wouldn't have to pay the early termination fee.)  She is off tomorrow and Tuesday, but will follow up on Weds.  I'm not getting my hopes up.  Total time on the phone today - 1 hour, 50 minutes.
Why is this so difficult?  Why can we not track previous calls? Why can we not speak to the same rep or department when we call back?  Had I not been persistent, I would be paying for a line that they said they would cancel as a good will gesture, AND a $92 fee that should not have been charged to me.  I'm STILL being penalized for the $100 line charge.
This is a terrible way to do business, Verizon.  I unfortunately use my phone constantly, so I cannot cancel it.  But I can no longer tell my friends and family that I am happy with your service.
    Anyone else encounter this??

We just returned from a cruise and were met w/ a $3,200 + mobile bill, we are stunned, retired seniors and have been asking for help, w/ little offer to reduce or help at all, my phone is cut off, and they tell us they are taking it out of our checking account which has been auto pay for years, they are trying to urge us to agree to time payments or a small reduction we don't understand why they can't help u w/ this we saved for a year for the cruise and don't know what to do next so far we have spoken to at least 8 people. Thanks for any advice.
