Hi,
Restarting TFTP service can be done normally during production hours unless the system is already witnessing high CPU or memory usage.

    have been a Verizon customer since I got my first cell phone in my 30's - I am 50 now! A year ago, I stupidly opted to get a new phone on the EDGE program because I was trying my first Samsung device and was not sure I would like it having been an IPhone user for years.I was right! Or so I thought.... The Note 3 has been horrible. I am on my second phone(replaced it under warranty) and it still freezes, shuts off on its own, and will not come back on for long periods of time. Having had enough, I decided to EDGE Up to another device. On March 16th I tried to edge up my device online but was unable to. I immediately called to figure out what the problem was. Back in October I had a mix up in my billing where I had set up a payment. It was not done properly by customer service and as a result my line was cut off. I called the EXACT day it went off, filed a complaint about the lack of follow through for my arranged payment, and thought I had it straightened out as the payment was made that same day. That incident, although it was a Verizon error, caused my Edge Contract to be "hotlined". I spent an hour on the phone on March 16th clearing the whole mess up. When the conversation ended, the Verizon representative admitted it was a Verizon error, documented everything, and then told me she was filing a release for the hotline hold that would take a couple of days. Her name was Linda and I stupidly trusted what she said.
    The days passed as I prepared to have a major foot surgery and to get my classroom straight before I would be out recovering for 3 weeks. All the time, my Samsung continued to glitch out like it has since I got it! While sitting on the couch recovering, I decided to deal with the phone issue again and EDGE UP. I figured 10 days latter, Linda would have taken care of the issue. Unfortunately, I faced the same problem and was told it was not eligible to edge up at this time. BACK on the phone again, 2 supervisors, 3 customer service reps. ( JOE from New York being the rudest customer service rep. I have EVER worked with) and 4 frustrating HOURS latter, Jason, the equally rude supervisor from Rochester, New York, informed me that Linda gave me BAD information, there was NOTHING he could do, and I am NOT eligible until April 14th!!!!! The WORST experience I have EVER had with a company. They were completely inept, rude, and not concerned about my time, my frustration, or the problems I was facing with their product in the LEAST. I have 4 LINES on Verizon that I am going to talk to Sprint about buying out. It was a horrible experience, and I can NOT believe I have no recourse or anyone to talk to....

    Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
    I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Jabber for iPhone & iPad too long to connect to "Phone Services"

    Hello,
    Has anybody ever experienced delay issues with Jabber for iPhone and/or iPad to connect to "Phone Services"?
    In my case, the service does connect but it can take about 1 minute. Some times it can be faster but some others it can take a while to make the service available.
    Regards,

    You've hit the nail on the head with your last sentence, though to me a month (and then another) to wait for a new line is nothing - I am on my fifth order with BT. They lost the first three, then tried charging me an arm and a leg in excess charges for the fourth. I am trying again, this time with a total package to see if they are a bit more useful when they actually know I'm not going to switch to another provider - fingers crossed.
    If they do come back with massive excess charges again though this time I've done my homework. I now know the measurements between my property and the pole as well as the BT price list they use to calculate the charges. I've also worked out a cheaper route than the one they were suggesting - Ofcom say they should offer the cheapest route and the opportunity for the customer to do some of their own work but with me they didn't do either. They also didn't consider that we don't have reliable mobile signal here. They also didn't provide me with any details of how they'd come to that figure and just demanded it. I've had lots of advice from DEFRA, the Department for Business, Innopvation and Skills, Ofcom and ex-Openreach planners and should be able to get a line under the USO. I have a horrible feeling that I've done all this homework now though and they'll just come out and do it without demanding the excess, but if they do I am at least ready this time.

  • No internet or phone service for over a month

    I will try to write calmly, but I am EXTREMELY angry and frustrated with verizon support.
    Our internet and phone service have been down for over a month. We've called over and over, and they've sent technicians. The first two technicians disappeared after fiddling around with our cables. Then someone from Verizon came around and said our cables and setup was fine, but it was something wrong at the Verizon office. They said it would be fixed within 2 days.
    Then about a WEEK after that, we got angry and called Verizon support. They sent a technician 2 days later, who fiddled around. He said that it should be working within an hour and that he'd call us to see if it was working. Well 2 hours later, it still wasn't working..but Verizon sent me a call on my cellphone saying that our "problem" was cleared.Well IT WASN'T.
    And now it's been about 2 weeks since THEN and we haven't had internet or phone service. We filed another request, but it says in the Status that Verizon does not need to send a technician or something. Well WE DO NOT HAVE PHONE OR INTERNET SERVICE. And they have the NERVE to keep sending us bills.
    We are just tired of Verizon. We do not know what to do. Somebody get me a lawyer. Or some verizon support that DOESN'T have an indian accent, and can fix this **bleep** problem.
    Thank you.

    I can see why you would be angry and frustrated. I got the same Central Office story from the (otherwise very helpful) agent with an Indian name that I online chatted with yesterday, which makes that sound like a generic **bleep** response for something that's wrong with the Fios network. I've only been out for about 34 hours so far (they've said I will have service back by the evening of May 3, meaning only 4 1/2  days without service, lucky me!), but I was dumb enough to get phone, internet and TV all through Fios, so I have none of those. Fortunately I kept a Comcast internet account as backup, which is how I can access this forum.  I do have a cell phone and I can get a few TV channels over the air, but that's not why I'm paying {please keep your posts courteous}$155 a month. And it is simply insulting to call Support and get put on hold for an hour. I'm reminded of the old Lily Tomlin SNL skit where she says something along the lines of "we're the telephone company, we don't have to care". Verizon may no longer be Ma Bell, but that attitude hasn't changed.

  • PHONE SERVICE FOR SPECIAL NEED CUSTOMER - YOU NEVER SHOWED????

    We have been able to maintain my brother-in-law in an independent setting for most of his 59 years of life. Beyond his diabetes, cognitive delays and heart disease, he also struggles with the residual effects of schizophrenia and an awareness that he his different from other people. Recently, we had to move him into a new apartment and he needed land line phone service. We were not thrilled that we would have to wait more than 3-weeks to get an appointment - even after we explained he has medical needs - but we put as many supports as we could around him (needless to say, he forgets to charge his cell  phone, but the walkie-talkies worked ok).
    THEN the day of our appointment arrives - AND NO VERIZON??? We waited from1-5pm, taking time off work... and no technician showed. When we called to ask the status of our appointment, we were told that the appointment was on the computer but no notes as to why  no one came. We were told we could Verizon could come the net day (which would be today , as I write) but it would be any time between 8am-5pm.
    Why is this ok? Where is the customer service, the care? Why do I now have to wait from 8-5 for another technician - when we should ahve been put first on someone's list? I know we are not getting FIOS but...
    I am venting here because there seems to be no customer concern hotline or email and I do not think this should get lost in the shuffle. Phone service for my brother-in-law is essential and vital to his wellbeing and abilitty to continue to function safely within the community. How can I recommend and respect your commitment to servicing persons with disabilities and special needs if this is my experiences with Verizon?

    I'm sorry you are having difficulty. An agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue.

But my appointment was for YESTERDAY??? YOU DIDN'T SHOW UP. Why do I need a new 'expedited' appointment? AND, where was my phone call that you were NOT coming?
    Verizon - please... explain this customer careappraoch? especially for someone that needs the phone service for his safety and well being. We ONLY needed the phone turned on - This is appalling and should NEVER have happened.
    Shame on you, Verizon.

  • IP Phone Service - Weather

    Hello. I'm looking for help in deploying weather as a service for our VoIP environment. We've got CUCM 6.01. An as easy as possible explanation would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    First of all you need to find a web server that runs IIS. Then you put it somewhere on the server and need to figure out how you can access the asp page, e.g.
    http://myserver/somepath/weather.asp
    Then you create an ip phone service with that url according to this guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/all_models/xsi/6_0/english/programming/guide/xsi60adm.html
    The guide also includes instructions on how to subscribe the service for a phone.
    Naturally you need to verify that the weather service that ships with the ip phone sdk still works.. afaik those have been deprecated years ago because the underlying services that were used have changed.

  • Implementation of IP phone services

    Hi,
    I want to implement some IP phone services like weather.I use CCM5.
    in the first time, I installed CiscoIPPS_SDK_V4[1].1.1 in which i found for this service in C:/CiscoIPServices/ASP/weather 4 codes. after that, I added this service in CCM5 in which i specified this URL:
    http://localhost:81/CiscoIPServices/weather/ASP/weatherzipinput.asp?name=#DEVICENAME#
    my IIS is declared in port 81.
    when opening this service with IP phone it displayed:
    Authorization required!
    UserName:
    password:
    Real:tr>
    <head>
    <style>
    please, im waiting for your help
    thank you in advance
    salima

    I've looked into the weather.asp code and I found that the URLs used to get the zip code from state and city and the one used to get the weather info based on the zip code are both not valid.
    I've found these two valid urls, but you'll have to change the weather.asp code to make it parse correctly the new pages:
    Weather forecast based on zip code :
    http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/
    Zip code lookup based on city/state :
    http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/zcl_1_results.jsp?visited=0&pagenumber=0&city=&state=
    terms within <> are the parameters to pass to the services.

  • IP IVR - Query to a DB as a Phone Service

    I already develop a script for IP IVR to access a DB on MS SQL 2005 which is working very good.  But I was wondering if I could do this same task to make a query to the DB using a Phone service, in the xml mode, is this possible??  Can I use the same script or have to develop another one??
    If the answer is yes, give some ideas, commands or anything to look at, it will be very helpful your help.
    Regards,

    Well that's the must logical next command, but how to I define the value on Document field??  I tried to use the lines created before for telephony trigger, but it's logical that the syntax I'm ussing it's not correct.
    I tried with this lines:
    StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer(100);
    buffer.append("First Name(s):  ");
    buffer.append(GetFirstName);
    buffer.append(System.getProperty("line.separator"));
    buffer.append("Last Name:  ");
    buffer.append(GetLastName);
    buffer.append(System.getProperty("line.separator"));
    buffer.append("Your account is:  ");
    BigDecimal bd_orig = new BigDecimal(GetBalance);
    BigDecimal bd_frac = bd_orig.divide(new BigDecimal(1),2,BigDecimal.ROUND_HALF_UP);
    String GetBalanceEmail =  java.text.NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance(java.util.Locale.US).format(bd_frac);
    buffer.append(GetBalanceEmail);
    buffer.append(" dollars");
    return buffer.toString();
    and I received the message error "unassignable type: String; expecting Document"
    How would it be on xml format??

  • Verizon, why do you keep changing my phone service?

    When I first signed up with Verizon (couple of years ago,) I had the very basic phone service. It was all I needed, since I use my cell phone as my primary. I didn't, and still don't need a landline. I don't even have a phone hooked up to my phone line, since I don't use it. I know I technically have to have service in order to get DSL, which I'm fine with.
    However, this is the second time Verizon has upgraded my phone service without my permission. The first time was when I moved apartments about 8 months ago. When I moved my service got downgraded to the 1mbps speed. After a while I managed to get it back to what it was before, which was the 7.1-15mbps service. However, my basic phone service somehow got upgraded in the process, so I was then paying ~$20 more per month. I talked to someone at Verizon, and they told me they'd fix it, and I'd get a credit for the change, but that never happened.
    Fast forward to this month, and I see my bill has gone up, from $79 to $140! It seems I somehow got put on the Freedom Essentials plan. A few weeks ago I got a call from a woman at Verizon in regards to a service issue they had recently addressed. She told me she was reviewing my file/case, and noticed it'd be cheaper for me to bundle my phone and DSL. She said it wouldn't be very much, but I'd save ~$7 a month. I told her I'd be fine with changing it as long as it was cheaper, but had no interest in paying for the higher tier service, since I don't even use my landline.
    So now I have to waste more of my time talking to Verizon to get them to fix their mistake, and I'm still out several hundred dollars as a result.
    Verizon, when your service works, it works great, and I love it. When it doesn't, it's a trainwreck, and lately, it's all been a trainwreck.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this?
    *Edit*
    I should mention that I tried to change my service back to the lowest tier by using the "Add/Change Services" page, but that page has NEVER worked for me. It only ever lists the services I have, not ones I can switch to. I've always had to call or chat with Verizon in order to upgrade my services.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
    Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • What do you suggest for phone service provider?

    I think many of the SW users (including myself) will be jealous of your Google Fiber! :)An easy transition would be to look at a BYOB hosted voice provider. The good news is that there are hundreds to choose from, the bad news is that there are hundreds to choose from!
    You don't mention how many phones you have, but the beauty of hosted voice is that you can start with 1 line and scale as you need. Many plans include new, free phones as well as unlimited usage, all for a monthly fee. Most hosted providers share similar feature sets (IM/Chat/Presence, Reporting, VM to Email, IVR etc), but making a suggestion will require a little more digging on your current environment and planned growth, as well as your (and management) expectations/requirements.Happy to help, PM me with the details and I can help guide you and bring you multiple good...

    We are in Kansas City and Google Fiber is so prominent and we are switching from Time Warner where phone service is free with the internet and services;  Google Fiber does not have phone service and I am not ready for my business line to be on a mobile phone!  There was the Magic Jack that came out that runs off internet through the computer or router;  What is out there now?  What does anyone suggest?

  • FED UP!!!!!!! Phone Service

    We've had comcast HD Triple Play about a month or so now, and if this issue is not investigated or an answer found I am disconnecting my phone service and going elsewhere, regardless of expense...we are getting at least 10-15 calls a DAY from CA, particulary NAPA Valley CA, latest was last night 5/19/15 at 12:45 a.m while I was sleeping and having to get up at 6:30 a.m for work, this is very disturbing, I call these numbers back to find out why we're being called, I've actually spoken to some of these people and they confirmed it was Napa Valley CA and that they DID not call me, yet their number is showing up on my caller ID, yet my own son who is in my area code cannot get through!!! What the heck is going on???? Please do not tell me to change my land line number, i've had this number over 20 yrs so not changing it is an option, we have a family member who is coming to their end of their life, my husbands father and getting calls at 1.am is a bit upsetting in every way possible.  So I wil do what I must to stop this....we're getting church calls, everything from Napa Valley, check my records and investigate to be sure the installation was done properly....I am going to take my phone service back to WOW very soon if no answer is found.   I had no such issue with them at all!!! It all started once my # was switched to Comcast. Thank you

    These are scammers (not legitimate telemarketers), mostly from overseas, who are spoofing numbers to cover their tracks and steal your identity or money. There have been several stories about this online and tv, where they will: pose as an IRS agent or utility company and demand that you pay them via a green dot card or pre-paid credit card, and if you refuse, they threaten to call the police and have one of their co-workers call you back pretending to be the police;posing as a computer tech and saying your computer is pinging them, and they need access to your computer so they can fix this (where they are actually feeding a virus into it to steal your information;pretending to be a relative who needs money to get out of jail or foreign country; andposing as a person who can lower your APR or telling you that you won some contest/lottery but you have to send money to get the prize or check.The thing is not to fall for these tricks. If you answer the phone and it says push a button to be removed from list, DO NOT DO THIS! it just tells them that the number is live and they will never stop calling you. The newest thing is that these evil individuals spoof the number that they are calling so that it appears you are calling yourself! They hope you will be curious and pick it up:http://www.bbb.org/council/news-events/bbb-scam-alerts/2014/06/scam-alert-how-scammers-use-caller-id-spoofing-to-pose-as-you/ You can either: use NOMOROBO as someone suggest, but this will not block legitimate private citizens' landlines that are being spoofed by these demons;buy one of those TBlockers from Amazon where you can program up to 1200 numbers to block (even just the area code and first three digits, since each scammer tend to change the last four digits only). I have a 2012 version of TBlocker and it works great, but scammers still know that line is active because the blocker picks up the line and hangs up before your phone actually rings if the number is in your blocked list. But at least your phone remains silent, especially at night.on your answering machine, record the SIT tone (disconnect phone line tone) as the first part of your outgoing message. This is suppose to tell the auto-dialer that the number is no longer active and remove it from their computer system. I just recently implemented this because someone spoofed my own number when they called me, so I changed my outgoing message starting with the SIT tone, and then a message that informs people who are calling my number because it showed up on their caller id that it was probably not me because some scammer has spoofed my number. I really don't want to come home to a bunch of angry messages on my machine, when I am just as much a victim as they are! Don't know if it will work, but so far scam-free today (usually get at least two a day). FYI, it is not exclusive to landlines - now I am getting a few on my cell phone too (and I only give that number out to people I know). Thankfully there are apps to take care of that too.

  • Upgrading to high speed internet enhanced with budget local phone service?

    Searched for this issue but can't locate anything on here.  I have gotten conflicting information on this by phone and online chat.  When I click on "Order Now" for High Speed Internet Enhanced (29.99) it takes me to the bundle page where it wants me to add TV service and upgrade my phone.  All I want to do is upgrade to enhanced from the regular High Speed (19.99).
    I don't know which dept I was connected to 1st on the phone, but her system wasn't allowing her to order it for me.  She referred me to E center who wasn't sure and asked the online chat people sitting near him who said I have to upgrade my phone as well to get enhanced?
    Is this true?  I need to have a regional calling plan to upgrade to High Speed Internet Enhanced?  Instead of paying an extra 10 bucks a month, it jumps to an extra 25 to 30 per month.
    Does anyone else have budget phone service with High Speed Enhanced?

    Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up.  It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace)  might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
    For example this what I saw when I was using Verizon
        news.giganews.com
        traceroute to 71.242.*.* (71.242.*.*), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

    Step two: Can you provide the Transceiver Statistics from your modem?
    #3 If you don't know how to get that info:
    a) What is the brand and model of your modem?
    b) If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to it: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
    #4 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to the modem, even if you know how to get the Transceiver Statistics from the modem: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?

    I have two older iPhones (3g, 3gs) that I've given to my granddaughters. The phones don't have phone service so they're using them like an iPod touch. Can I set up Messages for them on these phones without a phone number or data plan using only Wi-Fi?

    Yes you can. Just make sure you have iMesages on. You will need to go into Settings>Messages and turn it on and log in to their Apple IDs. I was having some activation issues when I first got my iPhone 4S [it was the carrier's fault, not the iPhone's] and I was using iMessages with my Apple ID to text my friends who had iPhones. I of course had to be connected to Wi-Fi for it to work. Hope that helps.
    You could also have them download a texting app and they could use that on Wi-Fi. There are many free ones out there. I personally enjoy Text Now. Gives you your own phone number so others can text you too, not just iDevices.

  • Phone Service disconnected over VPN

    Hello,
    I'm using Version 9.2.1 (147214) of Jabber for OS X and I'm using a VPN to connect to my work network with AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
    My issue is that Phone Services are disconnected while the Voicemail and Meeting Accounts are functioning as expected.
    My server settings are configured automatically, and I'm using the same saved credentials that work when I'm at the office.
    Any ideas?
    - Ken

    This issue is fixed.
    Once I changed the automatic configuration of the CCMCIP from an IP address to the hostname that my CUCM uses, my phone service registered across the VPN.

    ASA 8.21 Within a clientless WebVPN homepage, is there a way to open a listed link/bookmark in a new tab?  When I try to do it with the browser (right click.. Open in New Tab) it simply opens the site in the current tab. Thanks! Jeff
