Fixed Assets Posting period

Good Afternoon,
We have a customer that accidently created a posting period for a Year, e. g. 2011-01, when it was supposed to be created for months (12). He then deleted the period from the Posting Periods in System Initialization and created the correct period, e.g. 2011. In the fixed assets add-on both periods remained and the add-on can´t be updated accordingly.
When they did the fiscal year change they changed from 2010 to 2011-01, instead of doing to the correct one, 2011. Then the fixed assets values were updated for the period 2011-01 (and not for 2011).
Now they need to do the depreciation run for January (and next months) and they can only select the option 2011 (can't select 2011-01). The depreciation runs but, in the end, doesn´t post anything in the journal entry.
What can I do to solve this issue?

How can I break the links related to fiscal year change done from 2010 to 2011-01?
When I try to do fiscal year change again i can't select the 2011 year, the field is automatically filled with 2011-01. Then I can´t update de fixed assets values for the period 2011.

  • Error AA 738 while periodic asset posting - ASKB

    Hello,
    could you please advise if anybody have encounterd following error when executing transaction: ASKB (test run) as background processing:
    Number range 01 has not been created for document type AA.
    Message no. AA738
    Diagnosis
    No valid number range interval has been created for document type AA.
    Procedure
    Specify an interval for number range 01 in the year 999 for company code XXXX.
    I checked that for the mentioned company code number range 01 is created for the current year.
    Additionally users executed production run of ASKB (without a test run) and then got an error: Account determination - Loss made on  asset retirement w/o reven. not found for area 20 for account group 1411000 - this was fixed but then additional error AA738 came up.
    If you can advise how to get rid of error AA738, I would be more than grateful.

    Though the error says 999, usually its maintained for 9999 (assuming there is no issue wiht your FYsettings)
    In addition to that,
    The report evaluates all asset transactions since the last run. Unlike the periodic depreciation posting program, the APC posting run is not tied to a certain accounting period. It generates one document per posting period and depreciation area. That means that asset values are summarized for various account groups in one document. Document number assignment is external. You have to enter the document type in Customizing for Asset Accounting.
    What I suggest, pls go thru the blue colour 'i' icon in that T code input screen.

  • CJ88 Issue - Periodic settlement to a fixed asset

    Dear partners:
    We are facing troubles because of this situation:
    I am trying to make a periodic settlement using CJ88, but then appears error AA834. It only happens with one external activity linked to a purchase order with an advance payment. With other activities which have a periodic settlement to the same definitive fixed asset and no advance payment, there is no problem with the operation using CJ88.
    Please excuse me if I am not being clear, I am an engineer and it si very difficult for me to talk about financial stuff even in my first laguage!

    Hi,
    Please check whether you have defined in transaction code OAYB for "Transaction type group" 15 (down payments) the asset class of the affected asset You are posting to in settlement (normally this is the AuC which You can derive from the settlement rule->from there You can check the asset class).  You might receive the error on in settlement as indicated in the long text for the exact transaction group. Normally for transaction type group 15 you have to define all AuC classes to run settlement properly.

    1.<b>Indexed Replacement</b><u></u><i></i>:In this case change in value of asset is posted automatically at the time of depreciation posting.In this method we have to define index series.Follow the steps given below
    a. Deifne dep area (OR64) In this step we determine the dep area in which we want to manage revaluation of assets.
    b.Define Index series(OAV5)
    c.Enter index series in asset class or asset master record(as02) for the specific dep area.
    2.<b>Revaluation with Inflation management</b>:<u></u> In this case either we can go for one time revaluation or periodic revaluation.

    Hi Venkatareddy,
    You make specifications for fiscal years and posting periods in the SAP R/3 System in Customizing for Financial Accounting. This is done in the fiscal year variant in the global parameters of the company code. These settings are, in general, also binding for Asset Accounting. The depreciation periods in Asset Accounting then correspond to the posting periods in Financial Accounting.<b> It is usually not necessary to create a separate fiscal year variant for Asset Accounting.</b>
    The period control in the depreciation key determines the start and end of depreciation when asset transactions are posted . The period control determines the relationship between the calendar period in which the asset transaction is posted and the depreciation period.
    These calendar periods are independent of the posting periods in Financial Accounting. The only restriction is that the beginning of the first calendar period and the end of the last calendar period defined in a period control have to match the start date and final date of the fiscal year in Financial Accounting.

  • Fixed Asset calculates extra period for Depreciation

    Hi All,
    I have imported the Fixed Asset for 2007B for the Year 2010. while checking the import, i notice that the system calculates an additional period for depreciation.
    Here is my scenario :
    a. Asset Cost = 15,863.12 (purchased on 31-May-2007).
    b. Useful Life = 36
    c. Remaining Life = 4
    The above are displayed according to import file.
    At the Depreciation Tab, there are 5 rows of planned depreciation calculated. Period 01 to Period 05.
    How can the system calculates 5 periods when there is only 4 remaining periods for the asset?
    This happens to all the assets being imported.
    Please advise.

    Further information.
    The Net Book value = 1762.94
    with Accumulated Depreciation = 14100.18.
    So the remaining 4 periods should be calculated as = 440.735 (per month for 4 months).
    but it is displayed as 352.59 per month for 5 months.
    The Fixed Asset is setup as Monthly Basis.
    Using Straight Line Mehtod = Net Book Value / remaining life.

    I did a testing by changing the No of normal posting periods from 12 to 13 in FI Fiscal Variant. I did a testing in different areas of GL, AR and AP and the posting was well with no error at all.
    I have a issue with Assets accounting, in the Assets Master Data, Usefull life was throwing error. Depreciation Posting was having the problem so is the reitrment ABAVN.
    Any body has idea, how to overcome the Assets accounting issues.

  • Posting of accounting entry related to Fixed assets

    Dear All,
    I have an issue as below:
    We have implemented ECC 5.00 in oct,06. As part of implementation, asset management also has been implemented.
    We have uploaded the asset values properly. At the same time we have posted an accouting entry through OASV  to update the GL account balance.
    It was observed that Fixed account and accumlated depreciation account has been posted with higher amount.
    Value of the assets as per register  100,000
    Less Accumulated dep.,                   10,000
    Net value as per asset register          90,000
    At the same time GL account balance has been posted as below
    GL Account(cost of asset)  :150,000
    Less accumulated dep a/c     60,000
    Net value as per B/s              90,000
    When we compare asset register and GL balance, we could not find any difference as both are showing 90,000 only.
    But when we compare cost of asset account(as per b/s) with value of the asset as per asset register we can found difference amount of 50,000.(150000-100000)
    Same situation for Accumulated depreciation also. 50,000 has been posted excessivly.(60000-10000)
    Now can some one tell me how to adjust the difference between asset register and b/s.
    Is there any way we can get the individual balance sheet accounts to mirror the fixed asset register.
    Can i post any adjustment entry through OASV as below
    Accumulated dep account dr 50,000
    cost of asset a/c                  50,000
    Is it suggestble to post an account entry in 2006 as above.
    Also let me know is there any side effects?

    You can post this entry. This makes your recon perfect. However, it may not be advisable to post in 2006. Please find out from your finance users and try to post in the beginning of 2008, since 2007 must also be closed by now

  • Assets Depreciation Area posting period authomatically opend for 2010 in 2013

    We are in year end process, currently facing the issue regarding assets accounting period closed and opened due to while we try to open new fiscal year 2014 ,system showing error closed fiscal year 2011 first for the deprecation area  I found in details of deprecation period has opened in table T093B, even we posted deprecation Mar 2014,
    Development changes
    Development for the all value allowed  for unplanned depreciation in last week  for all depreciation area , change in AODB
    Is there any effect to above issue ?
    What is the reason to changed deprecation fiscal year.

    The query returns the assets which have the 'transaction date entered' between the periods submitted.
    But what about the assets who's 'Beginning Year Balance' is not zero [in the periods submitted in the query], those assets should also get displayed in the report.[and seeded report 'CIP Detail Report' shows assets who's 'Beginning Year Balance' is not zero along with  the assets which have the transaction date entered between the periods submitted]
    Any inputs / help / suggestions on this ?

    This is a strange requirement, depending on the columns you have and what are optional in them, one way is to have separate operations and each opeartion will have different inputs and for each operation , a different DB Adapter is called. But this way, it results in more number of operations for the service as well as more number of references in the composite. Even if you pass the column inputs to the SQL procedure, it will result in a large number of if-else cases..

    Recently my Finance Manager decided to hv a cut-off date for all the FI transaction on 14-Dec-2007.
    These are the rules:
    1.) All the FI transaction < 14-Dec-2007 posted in period 12
    2.) All the FI transaction Between 15-Dec-2007 and 31-Dec2007 will be posted in special posting period 14.
    3.) All year-end adjustment will be carried out in posting period 16.
    My problems are:-
    1.) How can i proceed the Asset depreciation run for period 12 and special period 14.
    2.) How the system select or capture the asset doc? By posting date or by posting period?
    3.)If possible pls give some examples when we should use these options and what are the advantages?
       a.) Planned posting run.
       b.) Repeat
       c.) Restart
       d.) Unplanned posting run.

    Hi, First of all you need to understand the function of special period.  You need not to mention the spl period of depr. run.
    The system considers period 12 as usual.

    By posting date.

    a.) Planned posting run.
           When you run the depr. on regular peiod basis ie., one by one, U choose (a)
    d.) Unplanned posting run.
          When you want to calculate the depr. for some periods as a whole, U choose (d)
    b.) Repeat
         Suppose u ran the depr for Jan.  In Feb. you have capitalised an asset for Jan. So, U have to calculate depr for the new asset for jan.   U choose (b).
    c.) Restart
           When you are running depr. you might have face some uncontrollable problems like power off, server down etc.  In such instances, you choose (c).

    Hello Experts,
    How are you? We have a client who have encountered an error during fixed asset retirement thru scrappingu2026.In one retirement document, SAP did not assign an account in the account column but still the document was saved but with erroru2026On her next retirement document, she could no longer save her document and the error points to the last retirement document she has saved with error.  We have tried to cancel the document and its journal entry but still she could no longer retire assets  using scrapping.  All other retirement transaction using scrapping could not be saved.
    The client is using SAP B1 8.81 patch 5.

  • PRRW: Incorrect posting period (fixed posting date)

    ¿Can anyone help me? I have problems when using transaction PRRW in order to transfer travel expenses to accounting. The issue is that for one company code the posting date is not of the same posting period as the travel. If I try to transfer all the travel expenses created in september, PRRW tries to use july posting period. Does anybody know how can I customize this? I don't know why it is always trying to post in july.
