Fixed Background (resizing browser so background does not move)

Hey,
Im a noob at dreamweaver so please bear with me while I try to explain this to you guys.
Im designing a website, and I need to keep the background image in a fixed position, so that when u resize the browser it doesnt move and stays in the place that you want it to according to the main page. For example the adobe forums that we are in, when you resize the window, the background doesnt move, but instead extends, leaving the checkerd design where it is next to the page, except I need that on both sides. (For example, gametrailers.com, resizing it leaves the designs next to the page.
I cant really explain it much more than that, I just need the background image to stay fixed behind the page, and I have no clue how to do it, not to mention what the method or style is called so I cant search for tutorials. Sorry if I used wrong termanoligy or anything, really new to this.

That site uses the following CSS rule on the body tag
body {
margin: 0;
text-align: center;
background: #C2C4C6 url(/images/gt6background.gif) repeat-y scroll center;
If you're not familiar with CSS, now's a good time to start learning to decipher the above.
You may want to use "fixed" instead of "scroll"

Background does not show up when creating a PDF in InDesign

I have placed the same image in Illustrator and the PDF does show up the image.

Layer 1: background (TIFF): does not show up
Layer 2: Type and logos (EPS): do show up in my pdf.
-When I select Overprint Preview in Indesign the background is missing.
-I have created pdfs in different presets (smallest, high quality, etc) and still background does not show up.
-When I place ONLY the background on a new InDesign document, it does show up in the PDF.
-I have created a pdf with the background in Illustrator and it does show in my PDF.

Fixed background does'nt behave as before

Since Firefox > 17 the fixed background does'nt work as expected.
Please scroll down the page http://bukowina.info with FF 17 and with FF > 17.
(Safari works as expected)

Looks like a reflow issue (bug). 
The background image is corrected if I hover a (yellow highlighted) link.

Texture background does not come up or save with font with effect

I did this before and it worked-now it does'nt. I am picking a font in Live Type and putting a brick background behind-and I am clicking apply and apply new track. The brick background does not show up when I import it into Final Cut Express. Any ideas-stumped?

Browser back button does not work (IE) - Error On Page message

Just take over website from our designer; I'm new, probably doing more fiddling on the live remote website than I should be...

Error On Page message, internal links work, but the browser Back button does not (at least in IE).
I have a backup of my local site from before this happened, but I do not know how to actually replace it.

Hi
First, get rid of your designer, the page design/code is a mess.
There are a number of problems with the page, not least being the disabling of the back button in all browsers I tested it in, (visitors may visit once with this, but are unlikely to do so a 2nd time).
The menu system is a fixed size so that when the browser is resized it overflows the browser window.
The use of tables for layout is not recommended as it is inaccessible to users using assistive devices.
To put this more politely, if you paid for this, ask for your money back. If you did not pay, then start again and use one of the dreamweaver layouts for your page, for more info, see - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/introducing_new_css_layouts.html.

This bug figures out also when creating a custom spark ComboBox, then trying to programatically update the userProposedSelectedIndex property. The proposed selected index is selected, but does not apply the same skin as when mouse is on rollover or item is selected due to up and down keys.
The issue seems like updating the status of the item renderer to rollover or selected to get the same skin applied.
Please could you attach DropDow nList.as that you edited ?

SQL Server Browser service group does not exists. Check for earlier failures in the setup. during sql express 2008 R2 setup

Hello,
I have an issue while installing SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. When I was installing SQL Server, I occurred an error message as shown in the figure.
I have followed couple of links as in

this links but it did not fix the issue. Can anyone help me on this issue?

According to your description, you fail to install SQL Server 2008 R2 express with the error that SQL Server Browser service group does not exist. Please help to post SQL Server setup error log for analysis. By default, SQL Server setup summary and detail
logs are located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Based on my research, this issue could occur when you install SQL Server on a Domain Controller, or the machine's name has been changed and the browser service group is named with the original machine's name.
To troubleshoot the issue, you could follow the solutions below.
1.Use SQL Server 2008 R2 Best Practice Analyzer to detect if SQL Server is installed on a domain controller. If SQL Server is installed on a domain controller, please demote your machine from being a domain controller and install the SQL Server again since
it is not recommended to install SQL Server on a domain controller.
2.Check if the name of local user group matches the machine's current name. If it doesn't match, please change the name of the local user group accordingly, and install SQL Server again. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:

Photo browser in Mail does not work anymore

Since upgrading from Leopard to Mt Lion, the photo browser in Mail does not work anymore and I also cannot drag and drop photos from iPhoto into Mail. Any idea how to solve ?

I can only open one Firefox browser window. When I click the firefox icon from desktop or taskbar to open up another browser window it does not open. I am ablt to open up new tabs within the one window.

Have you tried: click Firefox button > New Tab > New Window '''''OR''''' CTRL+N '''''OR''''' File > New Window (if using the Menu Bar)
Once open, Firefox locks the Profile that is in use and you can not open another window with that Firefox version and Profile combination using the Windows Desktop icon or the Windows Programs list.

When I double-click the tab bar, FF4 just resizes the window but does not open a new tab

When I double-click the Tab Bar, FF 4.0 just resizes the window but does not open a new tab. It happens when Menu Bar is disabled (not ticked).

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). 
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]] 
 
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. 
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions. 
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Playing back music on Itunes stays on 0.00 and counter does not move

Hi When I try to play any music in Itunes the counter stays at zero 0.00 and does not move along. I found this thread which best describes my problem so appears to affect quite a few others: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1205504&start=30&tstart=0 however I have tried all the possible solutions discussed on there without success. My operating system is XP Pro. This has happened several times in the past and quite frustrating (only a reboot normally fixes it but there has to be a reason why this keeps happening). Music and video plays fine on other media players (same as users in the thread attached). My wife's Itunes also does it and she is running Vista on her laptop. By the way I have the latest Itunes updates/versions etc and have also tried restoring to earlier backups - all without success. It was playing fine the other day with exactly the same updates just not today. Thank you for any help.

Initial postion of image changed but now image does not move

hi can any one solve this problem please, i have been trying to change the initial position of my image when i run it 1st on java textpad......
