Flat monitor not seen by input HDMI on TV

My sharp aquos 42" flat panel TV does not "see" my computer in the input (HDMI) of the selector options. It's a few years old so it does not have VGA connections on it thus the use of the cable. I have a Mac PPC  G5 with a nvida 9600 video card.. thanks MAC friends.

Greetings BDAqua, It's a DVI to HDMI cable that I bought so I have no clue why this is not working. I think I'll try again to hook it up, maybe I missed something in the set up. joefrommonterey

  • Yoga 2 Pro + Windows 10 = External Monitor not working via micro HDMI

    I upgraded to Windows 10 last week and everything was smooth.  Today when rebooting my system, the unit no longer can see my external display.  I have tried multiple other displays and none seem to work.  I have the latest video drivers for Win10 from the support site installed but it still doesn't work.  Any thoughts?

    I had issues with extreme sluggisness of my Yoga 2 Pro when I connected my external HDMI monitor after upgrading to win 10. I disabled DPTF in the BIOS and all the issues went away immediately. I have not tested yet what the impact on my battery life will be. Regardless, this is something Lenovo really needs to fix in the driver! If you don't know how to access the BIOS, here is a good link: http://www.howtogeek.com/126016/three-ways-to-access-the-windows-8-boot-options-menu/

  • External Monitor not seen by MacBook

    When I switched on my MacBook Pro this morning I forgot to use the power cable and my battery was flat.
    My external monitor flashed up briefly and then disappeared.
    Now my MacBook cannot see my external monitor at all.
    Can anybody please help?

  • Samsung Monitor not receiving signal through HDMI Mini DisplayPort

    I have been having issues using my Macbook Pro on an external monitor lately.
    Up until a couple of days ago I was using my monitor as the primary display for my laptop and using the Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad, so my laptop has been closed. I tried to 'wake up' my mac as I usually would do but nothing happened, the monitors power light kept flashing, which is what is does when it isn't receiving a signal, so as anyone else would I investigated and found that my macbook was working the way that it normally would except it doesn't detect the external monitor at all.
    I have tried changing the cable, changing the monitor from my 23" samsung display to my 42" sony tv, Restarted my mac more times that I could count and have also updated to the latest software that I possibly could.
    I am going to buy a new Mini DisplayPort adapter tomorrow but I would rather just fix it with what I have if I can.
    Thank you for any help that can be provided.

    Check the cable  does not have an air gap at either end.
    Sorry ... no other ideas.

  • HP 2311x monitor not seen by OSX unless the monitor is off/has no power

    I have hooked my Macbook pro up to TV's in the past without issue, I'm now trying to hook it to my HP 2311x monitor.  When the monitor goes to sleep, or I unplug the power the Mac screen will flicker like it does when I first hook up HDMI and then I have my mirroring options and it sees the monitor, when I power on the monitor it then is unable to see it and I lose those options.  Any suggestions as to what I can do?

    So - I am having an issues with the same monitor.  I spend 2+ hours on the phone with Apple care.  They had me do all sorts of resets and stuff.  While this isn't really helpful - they had no real response.  They suggested I but a thunderbolt cable and see if that worked.  Alternatively, they noted that HP might need to update their firmware for OS Mavericks and I might just have to wait for that.  So... just FYI.  Hope you manage to resolve it better than I have been able to.

  • File picked up by sender channel but not seen in CC monitoring nor in moni

    Dear All,
    It is a file to JDBC scenario where the sender communication channel picks up a file and sends it to several receivers interfaces ( 1 jdbc receiver channel). The file gets picked up by sender communication channel, but problem is that it does not get traced in communication channel monitoring, not even in message monitoring in RWB and SXMB_MONI. Thus no file processing. Sometimes this does not happen and the file gets traced in either of the monitoring tools. Please help as to why would this happen.
    The scenario works correctly at times. its configured correctly. Please guide.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priyanka Salvi

    Hi,
    Thanks. No, archiving faulty source files functionaly was not used earlied.
    I enabled it by giving a path in the FTP server itself, but no files were placed there in the same case.
    Please give me some examples of OS commands.
    The file is picked up but it seems it is unable to read/forward for further processing.
    This is because after the file is picked up, no messages are found with the outbound interface as well in message monitoring.
    I am manually placing the file at the required path and the procsessing mode in CC is delete.
    The receiver determination and all other configurations are correct.
    I had tried by creating a new sender CC and deactiving the earlied one. Using this files were picked up and processed for few days and now again the same problem.

  • Monitor not recognized by Mac anymore?????

    Hi
    This is big and what is APPLE doing to solve this issue??
    I just copy some posts from the forum to show how big this issue is, there is 8 more pages with the same problem, and i am one of them!!!!
    HELP!!!! WE ARE FREAKING OUT HERE AND NEED A SOLUTION!!!
    Yes, me. I have an HP w2207 who worked with my 3 y.o. old MacBook (OS 10.4.??) via the DVI-port flawlessly. Then bought a brandnew MacBook Pro with 10.6.X and the external monitor stopped being recognized. It works now that I have changed the connection to the VGA-port of the monitor (and bought yet another adapter for the MacBook Pro) but the quality is not what I'm used to.

    Yes. I've tried 7 different Macs including a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard (10.6.2) and my external monitor doesn't work with it either.
    For me here's a recap:
    Installed SL on a Mac Pro connected to a 23" Cinema via DVI and Olevia 537 via HDMI Input #1 and now that input no longer works with Mac computers.
    Reinstalled 10.5.8 on the Mac Pro and HDMI #1 still didn't work, so I plugged the Mac into HDMI #2 and it worked.
    Reinstalled SL on the Mac Pro connected to a 23" Cinema via DVI and Olevia 537 via HDMI Input #2 and now that input no longer works with Mac computers.
    Since then, every device (PCs, DVD Players, Video Cameras, etc...) I connect to either of the HDMI inputs work fine. However, neither HDMI input works with ANY of the 7 different Macs (regardless of OS version) I've tried, except for a 10-year-old G4 running Panther or Tiger.
    The monitor had previously worked with the MacPro (HDMI input #1) and a G5 (HDMI input #2) for almost 2 years.
    When I plug the MacPro into any other monitor via HDMI, it works fine. Same thing with the G5.
    My theory is still that the installer for Snow Leopard somehow made my monitor's HDMI inputs incompatible with Macs. I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to buy a new monitor, but since there's no guarantee that a new monitor won't be adversely affected by Snow Leopard, I'm still dubious.

    Another "me too" post...
    Not sure exactly when it stopped working (since I don't use it every day) but my Viewsonic VX2455wm stopped working with my MacBook recently too. Checked with another MacBook (six months newer than my Late 2006 model) and that exhibited the same problem. Both machines have fully patched Snow Leopard installs. Both started with Tiger. Mine is regularly connected to the external monitor, the other has never been connected. I'm connecting using a DVI cable and a mini-DVI-DVI adapter.
    The monitor appears to work correctly. I've checked with a Windows laptop connected on the VGA port. I want to test with another DVI-enabled machine to see whether or not its the cable.

    Hi Guys
    I have the same problem with my new Dell 2209WAf. It worked fine before i changed from L to SL.
    I didn't know what happened so i have spend hours and hours to resolve the problem.
    Hours with Mac support and friends didn't change anything, i still cant make my Dell to work, or show up in preferences. I am working as a photographer and this issue is a real problem.
    I just heard from Mac Support that Apple is working on it.....well, doesn't help us with the problem today.
    So Apple, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! NOW! this problem should NEVER showed up, this is something you should have fixed before telling all the Macers to upgrade!!!

    Experiencing the same issues. However, on bit different hardware.
    I'm using the XLR8 ProView USB input devices. Using these devices on a mixture of 10.5.8 and 10.6.2 systems (2 MacBooks, 2 Mac Mini and 1 iMac).
    I can confirm the following:
    When attempting to mirror video, or extend the desktop, using a mini-DVI to S-Video/Composite device on OSX 10.6.2 no video is sent to the mini-DVI device (inputing into the XLR8).
    When attempting to mirror video, or extend the desktop, using a mini-DVI to S-Video/Composite device on OSX 10.5.8 video is sent to the mini-DVI device (inputing into the XLR8).
    Let me also state, that the mini-DVI port on the Mac Mini's do work. They have been connected to 19" monitors and working without issue. Today, the mini-DVI devices were replaced with minidisplay port devices, which are use in conjunction with the mini-DVI ports.
    It would appear, in my case, that the problem is that the mini-DVI port on both the MacBook and Mac Mini, running 10.6.2, as a secondary display device is not operating properly.

    Same problems here. I reloaded OS 10.4.6 which is what shipped with my MBP1,2 17" 2.16 Intel Core Duo 2GB ram and after installing that, i was able to select 1920x1080 for my external HP w2338h, DVI-VGA, never been able to connect DVI-HDMI. On SL, the max rez I was able to "use" was 1600x1200 which looked horrible. So this leads me to suspect that this must be an issue with SL.
    I spoke with Apple Tech support on Sat and was no help. The only suggestion was that I take my MBP and Monitor to the Apple Store. Those of you who are fortunate enough to live in Chicago in the winter, then you know that option really isn't that feasible, it is but just a giant pain.

    I have an iMac 9,1 Intel Core 2 Duo that I bought last June. It came with Leopard, but I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Currently, it's running 10.6.2. My HP w2207 Widescreen monitor works perfectly with it using the DVI port on the HP and the mini-display (not mini-DVI) port on the iMac.
    However, I just bought the top-of-the-line iMac 11,1 Intel Core i5 QuadCore three days ago and it crashes nearly every time that it wakes from "sleep" when the HP w2207 is connected to it. It doesn't even recognize that the w2207 is connected to it. Additionally, when the w2207 is connected, it (a) looks terrible - very dim and very granular, and (b) causes the iMac QuadCore to operate very sluggishly. When I disconnect the HP w2207, the iMac QuadCore is lightning-fast.
    Much like my older iMac, the QuadCore is running 10.6.2 and I'm using the mini-display port.

    Another me too post. I have a new 17" MacBook Pro with 10.6.2 installed. Trying to connect to an HPL2245wg - sometimes it works flawlessly - other times not at all. Some mornings I spend 30 -40 minutes rebooting, unplugging and plugging the monitor, Detecting Displays, changing the Graphics Card (Energy settings) - all to no avail. Very, very frustrating Apple - please figure out what is going on with this issue....and get it fixed!

    I seem to have found a fix for myself. I was having terrible issues with the screen blinking and flickering constantly. I tried to reset the SMC with everything unplugged and the computer would not reboot at that point on it's own which led me eventually to reinstalling SL.
    Reinstalling SL is quite painless actually as it installs on top of your profile. After reinstalling I ran software update which installs the cumulative upgrades. Now I usually don't have any problems but must follow the instructions to run in clamshell mode to the letter.
    After a week of running in clamshell mode I started having an issue with the dock not lining up so I put the computer to sleep, disconnected the monitor and restarted with nothing connected. After that, followed the clamshell mode instructions again and have been working fine again all week.
    I've also disabled my screen-saver, and deleted the windowserver preferences as part of my debug process but not sure if that has contributed to my new found stability.

    Me too. I have a MacBook Pro 2,2 running the latest Snow Leopard 10.6.2. After I have installed yesterday's security patch it does not recognize external displays on the DVI port any longer. Tried it with a 23" DELL at the office and a 23" Samsung at home. Both have worked without any problems for years.
    I am curious to learn how this behavior is related to security...

  • Partner functions for a specific customer not seen in XD03 but appears in XD02

    Hello SAP Gurus,
    I have a situation where a partner functions for a specific customer not seen in XD03 but appears in XD02, In XD03 only one partner function (Ship to) appears but in XD02 (Sold to, Ship to, Bill to and payer appears), from the customer master I can see that account group for this customer has been changes to Sold to (Z001) from Ship to (Z002).
    I checked in settings for OB20 transaction for display customer centrally, it is in Display mode as required and not suprresed would like your inputs as to why this is happening and what can be done to fix this.
    Thanks and Regards
    Mohammed Roshan

    Hi ROshan,
      Open customer master in XD02  sales view and save it then check in XD03 it should display the partner functions.
    As you said the account group has been changed I think the records needs to be saved again.

  • 2nd monitor not using all available pixels

    So am I the only one having this issue? -
    I have a Mac Mini that is running Windows 7 in bootcamp.  I have 2 monitors.  My 2nd monitor is connected with an HDMI to DVI cable.  In Windows, the whole screen of both monitors is used (edge to edge, top  to bottom).  But when I switch over to Yosemite, my second monitor has about a 1 inch bar of black on both sides and a 1/2 inch bar along the top and the bottom.  This is literally unused space.
    I've talked to Apple Support several times but they don't seem to have an answer.  I get transferred to someone but each time I get cut off.  (so I gave up trying to fix this over the phone or on line chat).  There are no features or selections in the Syncmaster to adjust this.  Why does it work perfectly fine in Windows but not when I switch over to Yosemite.
    Maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal but it's so frustrating that I'm actually finding myself not wanting to use the Yosemite side.
    Does anybody have a solutio

  • Final Cut Pro 2nd monitor not working properly?

    Been here before a long time ago, can't remember how it was resolved.
    Working in a new edit suite, FCP Studio.  Two new Samsung monitors (not my choice).  I want one to be my playback monitor.
    I set:
    Final Cut Pro > Audio/Video Settings
    > Digital Cinema Desktop Full Screen
    > View > External Video > All Frames
    But all I'm getting is a black frame on the 2nd monitor.
    They've also got one of those very flat alluminum keyboards ... where F12 becomes a sound control.  I'd love to know how I can change the function key to work as an FCP action / 2nd monitor toggling on and off.
    That's two questions.  Would be most appreciative of an answer for either.
    Ben

    Hey Andy,
    I did the first half of your suggestion, but not the second half.  Heading down to the studio this morning ... set up in a tiny white chapel looking out across the silvery North Atlantic ... and will try the second half of your suggestion.  Will also see if there are two graphics cards installed in the Mac Pro.  Will also check out the Window > Arrange in FCP (something I should have checked first off).
    I talked to a filmmaker who previously worked on the system, only to discover he never uses the second monitor as a full screen, but rather as a large 'bin'.  Interesting.
    If worse comes to worse and I can't solve it I suspect I could size the canvas window to super large and drag it over to the second monitor.
    Will post back when I've tried the latest suggestions ...
    Thanks you mucho guys,
    Ben

  • External widescreen monitor not working properly

    Hi! i have an LG Flatron 2243S monitor and i just hooked it up to my late 2011 macbook pro 15" through the mini display port and vga cable since the monitor does not have DVI input, Im having issues with the resolution it shows. if i put it in 1920x1080 60hz it leaves a black space on the left side of the screen. I have it set to 1400x1050 60hz so it fils the screen but it looks streched since i believe that is more of a 4:3 resolution... Can you guys help me?

    Well, I think I have solved the problem. One of the external cases apparently was screwing up the works as far as the USB bus was concerned. After removing that unit from the setup, it seems as if everything is back to normal. I now have to test the HDD's to see if either of the two from that particular enclosure have a problem.

  • PowerBook 160   Powerbook Video Cable: how to connect to mdern flat monitor?

    I wish to connect a Macintosh PowerBook 160 (very old) to a modern flat monitor. I have got the Macintosh PowerBook Video Cable that connects with one end with the Powerbook and has a sub-D 15 (two rows of holes) female connector on the other end. What kind of connection is required between the video cable and the 15-pins (three rows) of the monitor?-- Thanks for any hints, Peter

    If your "modern flat monitor" is a widescreen display (16:9 aspect ratio), its optimal resolution will not be supported by the PowerBook 160 and its very limited 512K of VRAM.  Even if you used a Mac-to-VGA adapter to connect the display's VGA plug to the PowerBook's display cable, the onscreen result would be unacceptable.  I wouldn't waste the $$ attempting to do so.  Mac users with much newer and capable Power Macs having PCI graphics cards sometimes have compatibility problems with new displays.

    Customer have implemented solution id 201056033 in WebLogic 9.2 MP3 patch 2 with PT 8.49.12.
    However, when they change signin.html for a web site the change is not seen. Browser cache has been purged.
    Yes, the web server were brought down and back up.
    Yes, the solution is implemented. It does not work as documented.
    Problem being:
    Able to change static HTML and have it seen by the user's

    though the Solution ID says that doing what is documented in the

    I need an answer to why the Solution ID is not working. I need
    to be able to change statuc HTML and have the web server serve it
    out to the browser.
    weblogic.xml has been updated as solution 201056033, that is to add

    solve the problem?
    Any thoughts , pls help.
    Thanks

    It's not working because this change only causes the server side to reload the resource. The browser still has it cached, so it ignores it.
    What you have to do is send HTTP headers along with the response that convinces the browser not to cache the resource. One way to do this is to implement a servlet filter that injects the appropriate HTTP headers to cause this.
    The code for the class could look like this (I haven't declared it in a package, but you should):
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.servlet.Filter;
    import javax.servlet.FilterChain;
    import javax.servlet.FilterConfig;
    import javax.servlet.ServletException;
    import javax.servlet.ServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.ServletResponse;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
    public class NoCachingFilter implements Filter
         private FilterConfig filterConfig = null;
         public void destroy()
              this.filterConfig = null;
         public void init(FilterConfig arg0) throws ServletException
              this.filterConfig = filterConfig;
         public void doFilter(ServletRequest request,
                                  ServletResponse response,
                                  FilterChain chain)
         throws IOException, ServletException
         HttpServletResponse httpResponse = (HttpServletResponse) response;
         httpResponse.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
         httpResponse.setDateHeader("Expires", 0);
         httpResponse.setHeader("Pragma", "No-cache");
         chain.doFilter(request, response);
    You would declare this filter in your web.xml like this:
    <filter>
    <filter-name>No Caching Filter</filter-name>
    <filter-class>carousel.NoCachingFilter</filter-class>
    </filter>
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>No Caching Filter</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>

    How can i solve this problem?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Jey:
    I have tried this:
    MODULE listbox INPUT.
      TYPES: BEGIN OF vrm_value,
               key(40)  TYPE c,
               text(80) TYPE c,
             END OF vrm_value,
      vrm_values TYPE TABLE OF vrm_value,
      vrm_id     TYPE vrm_value-text,
      vrm_ids    TYPE TABLE OF vrm_id.
      DATA: name       TYPE vrm_id,
            list       TYPE TABLE OF vrm_value WITH HEADER LINE,
            poplist    TYPE TABLE OF spopli WITH HEADER LINE,
            popanswer  TYPE c,
            popindex   TYPE i,
            value      TYPE vrm_value,
            lt_dyntab  TYPE TABLE OF dynpread  WITH HEADER LINE,
            dynpprog   TYPE syrepid VALUE 'SAPMZxxxx',           "Enter your dynpro here
            dynpnr     TYPE sydynnr VALUE '0100',          "Enter your screen number here
            dynpfield  TYPE help_info-dynprofld VALUE 'SCARR-CARRID'.
      IF list[] IS INITIAL.
        name = 'SCARR-CARRID'.
        SELECT carrid carrname FROM scarr
        INTO (value-key,value-text).
          APPEND value TO list.
          poplist-varoption = value-text.
          APPEND poplist.
        ENDSELECT.
      ENDIF.
    Use some method to display a list for selection
    Here is a simplified way of doing it but there are
    much more sofisiticated methods.
      CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_TO_DECIDE_LIST'
           EXPORTING
                textline1          = 'Select an entry'
                titel              = 'Selection'
           IMPORTING
                answer             = popanswer
           TABLES
                t_spopli           = poplist
           EXCEPTIONS
                not_enough_answers = 1
                too_much_answers   = 2
                too_much_marks     = 3
                OTHERS             = 4.
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
      CHECK popanswer NE 'A'.
      popindex = popanswer.
      READ TABLE list INDEX popindex.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
        lt_dyntab-fieldvalue = list-key.
      ENDIF.
    Update the screen field with the selected value
      lt_dyntab-fieldname  = dynpfield.
      APPEND lt_dyntab.
      CALL FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'
           EXPORTING
                dyname               = dynpprog
                dynumb               = dynpnr
           TABLES
                dynpfields           = lt_dyntab
           EXCEPTIONS
                invalid_abapworkarea = 1
                invalid_dynprofield  = 2
                invalid_dynproname   = 3
                invalid_dynpronummer = 4
                invalid_request      = 5
                no_fielddescription  = 6
                undefind_error       = 7
                OTHERS               = 8.
    ENDMODULE. " LISTBOX INPUT
    I think that there is a error that I have not seen because I put a breakpoint at the beginning of your code and the execution doesn`t stop.
    Now I execute the dynpro and appears my field 'SCARR-CARRID' and I can't choose a value and I can write in input field.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks a lot.
