FM or RFC to retrieve QM notification data

Hi Gurus,
I looking for a function that can fetch QM notification data from R/3, so that I can display the same in a WebDynpro application.
I will be lucky if there is some standard FM to do that. If not, I have to do it my self for all the notification types we are using.
The same with CS notifications too.
Some one please suggest.
Any help or suggestion will be of great help to me.

Thanks for the BAPIs. They helped me. Now, my next task is the update the notification data,
I have found one BAPI for this purpose:
BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_DATA_MODIFY
Still have to test it with my code, hope it works fine. I am still looking at the BAPI fields to see if it contains all the fields i need. I will be gald if I can get some suggestions.

BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_GET_DATA.
Plese let me know if i can use the BAPIs for reading and updating CS and QM notifications.

      The process for creating an entry in infotype is as follows.
1.First you get the personal number lock for upating.You can use function
    module ' BAPI_EMPLOYEE_ENQUEUE ' or ENQUEUE_EMPREL.
2.Pass the records to function module ' HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION' with
   OPERATION - 'INS'.
3.Unlock the Employee by using function moule 'BAPI_EMPLOYEET_DEQUEUE'.

Inside your RFC you can directly use select on PA0006 & PA0655
or use FM: HR_READ_INFOTYPE
if you wan for multiple pernrs then cal the FM inside a loop or you can use the select query for multiple pernrs

Reading ISR Notification data

Hi,
I need to read Special data from ISR notification to report.
I know that I can get it from function modules ISR_SPECIAL_DATA_GET or HRIQ_ISR_DATA_GET.
But I have several (more than 1 lack) notifications to be read and reported, hence worried about the performance of the report.
Is there any other function modules, or places where I can get this data easily/efficient way?

Try to understand the functionality of the FM ISR_SPECIAL_DATA_GET and Implement the same in a Custom FM.
I have got a chance to go through it. Its working in a below manner.
FM is retrieving the Notification number from table QMEL. After that Its using the method read_for_display of class cl_isr_xml_document for reading the ISR XML Document and then method get_data_from_xml for reading the data from XML document.
Hope you can do the same by the below way.
** Get only the special Notification Numbers*
SELECT * FROM qmel INTO into it_qmel
WHERE qmnum = notification_no and auswirk <> SPACE.
Just loop the internal table it_qmel , call those two methods inside that , collect the output.

How to retrieve all the data from a BLOB using view-generated accessor

I am using JDeveveloper 10g v. 10.1.3 and am storing an image in a database as a blob object and need to retrieve all of the data to get the entire image and store it in an ImageIcon. The code I have works partially in that it retrieves the correct data, but only gets a piece of it, leaving me with a partial image.

How to retrieve Request Form Data in OIM 11g for SOA workflows

Hi,
I have a business requirement wherein, I need to retrieve a field's value inside my SOA composite for further processing and decide on the Approver of the Request. Say for e.g. I'm having a field *"Country"* inside my Request Form, and what i need to do is, as soon as the request form is submitted, I need to retrieve the value for *"Country"* attribute inside my SOA Composite using Payload, and further process it. This scenerio is with respect to provision an application instance to a user.
Now, in a similar scenario, where I was trying to create a user of type *"Contractor"*, I had used Request Service Api to retrieve the Basic information of the userform submitted, and decide on approval. Fortunately, the basic data like, First Name, Last Name, Login etc was successfully being fetched from the Request and I was able to perform further operations.
Unfortunately, the same code which was working for Creation of a User, is not working when I'm trying to provision an application instance to the user.
Below is the code which worked fine for me to retrieve basic request data for user creation, and isn't working for provisioning application instance:

RFC is not inserting the data

                I did File to RFC scenario. My problem is when i send message the message is showen as processed successfully in SXMB_MONI. But RFC is not inserting my data in a specified table. I couldn't found where i am wrong.

You should always check the system return code (sy-subrc) after any insert and update statement like this:
insert ...
if sy-subrc > 0.
message E...
else.
commit work.
endif.

Retrieving latest changed date UDATE for Vendor.

I have a requirement to retrieve latest changed date UDATE field from CDHDR table based on company code wise??.
As the vendor can be same for different company codes, I need to retrieve the company code wise latest changed date of vendor.
Hope am clear.
Currently am doing this
SELECT objectclas objectid tcode udate
    FROM cdhdr INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_cdhdr
    FOR ALL ENTRIES IN it_lfa2
    WHERE objectclas = 'KRED' AND
          objectid   = it_lfa2-objectid

SORT it_cdhdr BY objectid udate DESCENDING.
Its giving me the latest changed date. But I need latest changed date -company code wise?

Hi,
Use function module CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ to get the details of CDHDR as well as CDPOS data. Records of table CDPOS where TABNAME = 'LFB1' will have the details related to changes in company-specific data. Structure EDITPOS of above function module will give you detail information.

RFC error when sending logon data

Hi;
We cannot configure the STMS of our development system. When we try to
configure it, system gives an error message: Errors during distribution
of tp configuration; TMS Alert Viewers tells us
RFC_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE: RFC communications error with
system/destination TMSADM-FKT.DOMAIN_FKT RFC error when sending logon
data and READ_PROFILE_FAILED:File

Is there any advise for solution?

You are right. The problem was releated with secstore. I found a SAP note ( Note 1532825 - Deleting SECSTORE entries during system export/system copy). I created the program which ise mentioned in the note and than run it. After that everything seems ok now.

To retrieve the Maximum Date from the record

I am using the bleow query to retrieve the max date from the record list:
select w.wr_no,w.customer_id,w.place_id, w.entry_Date, max(app.appointment_date) as appointment_date
from work_request w , wr_appointment app
where w.wr_no=app.wr_no
and w.customer_id = '020167001'
and w.place_id = '1151667'
group by w.wr_no, w.customer_id,w.place_id, w.entry_Date;
However i am getting the as many as three rows even after using the max function. The max date comes as the last record out the three rows retrieved.

In fact you want to group only on the customer (and place_id?) and get all the information from the line with the last appointment date.
Analytic functions such as RANK or ROW_NUMBER are good for this.
The select can look like this.
select * from (
   select w.wr_no,w.customer_id,w.place_id, w.entry_Date, app.appointment_date,
         row_number() over (partition by w.customer_id, w.place_id order by app.appointment_date desc, w.wr_no desc) rn
   from work_request w , wr_appointment app

;In fact I think you can do the same operation in EXCEL directly.
FIrst you need to sort the data by customer (asc), place (asc) and appointment date (desc).
Then add a column in excel that give you the line where you have a new customer id.
Assuming this new column is column H and the customerid is in column A then the function in Cell H2 would look like this.
A function like ("=A2=A1"). Copy this formular to all the other H cells.
Then add a auto filter on it and only select all the rows where the result is FALSE.
Same logic as in SQL, but done in Excel.

Hi,
I sucessfully enabled SSL on PORTAL 3.0.9.8.0 but I could only use it inside our firewall. This is because I had my servername setup to be "portal" instead of a valid DNS name like "portal.mycomp.com".
I have changes my servername from "portal" to "portal.mycomp.com" in all the conf. files that I know of and it still doesn't work. The funny thing is that I can access the single-sign-on server but not portal. For example, #1 of the following doesn't work but #2 works.

#2: https://portal.mycomp.com/pls/portal30_sso
This is the error msg I got from my browser when I try to go to #1 ---> "Error: Timeout occurred whilst retrieving page meta data."
I had also made sure that I didn't have any typo when I executed the ssodatan script. The following is how I executed my ssodatan script:
ssodatan -w https://portal.mycomp.com/pls/portal30/ -l https://portal.mycomp.com/pls/portal30_sso/ -s portal30 -o portal30_sso -c portal
*note: "portal" is my connect string.
Does anyone have any idea what my problem would be?
Yes, I have also re-requested a new SSL Certificate from Varisign with the new servername "portal.mycomp.com" and installed it properly.

we get the error "Error: Timeout occurred whilst retrieving page

3. https://<domain name>/test.jsp - works okay

Retrieve item level dates during service order creation before saving

I have a requirement where I need to retrieve item level date (First Response i.e. APPT_TYPE as SRV_RFIRST) and modify the date and put it back to the same screen field when ever a line item is entered.
To do this we found a BADI CRM_SERVICE_I_BADI which triggers when ever we enter line item. We tried many FM which retrieves item level dates from buffer CRM_DATES_READ_MULTIPLE_OB; CRM_DATES_READ_SINGLE_OB;
CRM_DATES_READ_SINGLE_OW;
Most of them are returning all the dates except first response. No configuration issues. Can anyone help me how to get the first response date during creation.

I have 10.1.2.0.0 installed. I log into portal and time to time I keep getting the following error:
Error: Timeout occurred while retrieving page meta data.
Any ideas what might be the cause. It may work ok for sometime but all of a sudden I keep getting the above error.

I could be the RAC, and have failovers etc. as usually this is associated with a performance issue or timeout... There should be something in the logs.
What I recommend you is that you log a Service Request into Support... and supply the PDA (Metalink Note:169490.1).
