Force User to Change Requester

I have a client that has buying agents that use iProcurement on the behalf of actual buyers. The client would like to force the agent enter in the actual requester when checking out. The client tried to update the POR_CUSTOM pkg to accomplish this (by setting the requester to an invalid value) but it isn't working as expected. Is there another way to accomplish this? Can we use CheckoutSummaryPG.xml to default to an invalid Requester thus forcing the user to update it?
Thanks in advance.

I checked the requester_id in the database (to_person_id) at various points in the checkout process and POR_CUSTOM_PKG is setting the it correctly to -1. However, the value is getting updated to the buyer when the requisition is retrieved into the cart (Save req, click on Requisitions tab, click on the incomplete req, click Complete button,"..items in cart, continue?...", click yes).
How do I find the code that updates the requester id when displaying the cart? POR_CUSTOM_PKG.custom_validate_req_line doesn't have any code related to the requester_id.

    Hi Kiryuu,
Xtras do need to be bundled with your application on the CD.
    They can be
either embedded into the projector or kept external in a
    folder called
Xtras at the same level as the projector.
I have info on this in my Stub projector tutorial at:
    http://www.fbe.unsw.edu.au/learning/director/publishing/projector.asp
Whether using Third party Xtras (Commercial Xtras) or the
    ones that come
with Director, the same rules apply about packaging them with
    your
    projector.

  • Force user to change cost center master data with validity date

    Dear All!
we do have customer fields in table for cost centers (CSKS) and would like to force the user to do changes for these customer fields in combination with the change of the validity from/to date. I did not find any possibility to add this functionality with the customizing transaction OKEG or any other transaction. We now would need some good ideas from you as SAP experts!

  • How force users to change passwords every 60 days

    Hi,
We're running ebs 12 and would like to know which profile option to set at the site level to force the passwords for all users to expire every 60 days.
We don't want to expire the database user passwords, just the application user password in ebusiness.
    Kind regards,
    dula

Are you looking all users to reset their password at once ? If not, as and when you define users (I assume you don't define users in large volumes daily), you can set this to 60. Assuming you've set this policy today (to expire passwords every 60 days) and wish to update this in the database for all users, the update statement that you've specified is correct (with suitable WHERE clause). For all new users, you've got to define this when defining the users, though !

  • ChaRM: approving of a change request by various list of end users

    Dear, experts.
Can I customize ChaRM so, that before initiating change request  a support message should be approved by  by various list of end users depending on component (component A - list 1, component B - list 2)?
For example some end-user wants to change  established business-process. In this process are involved other end-users, so to trigger changes he have to ensure that other end-users are agree.
can you suggest any profitable solution?
    thanks in advance

    Hey talgat,
what you need is an action that uses pfac (it s a transaction for defining rooting rules). Thanks to this transaction you can define rules that will be based on different fields of ticket od crmd_order to assign the right person to the ticket
There is a standard action that does those kind of things called SLFN0001_ADVANCED_FIND_PARTNER of action profile SLFN0001_ADVANCED available in transaction sppfcadm. You ll notice that this action uses rule id AC13200137. Well you ll need to define your action that will be alike with your own rule that you ll have predefined in transaction pfac.
Use a copy of the standard rule AC13200137 to do your own; it will ease the task for you.

  • SAP MDG - How to activate user settings for Dropdown box Change request?

    Hello Expert,
I have a question related to Hide DropDown Box Change request.
When i save change request via collective processing, Change request Dropdown box is displayed. When, i select Change request dropdown list, only change request description is displayed,  not change request number.
So how to activate access key from user settting ? Could you show me the menu path in order to activate it?
    Best regards,
    RAOELISON

This is a generic Web Dynpro question and not specific to MDG. Any way, this is how you can do it:
    Right-click the field
    Select: Use Settings --> More
    Check the "Key Visible" checkbox
Keep in mind this is a user-specific setting and not a global setting.

  • Notifying a user that an Urgent Change Request has been Approved, or Denied

Trying to figure out the best way to have an email go back to a user after a Change Request has been updated with either an Approved or Deny
What we do now is after a user creates an Urgent Change Request, and email goes out to all of our Managers. One of them will reply all to the email with either an [approval] or [deny] in the message body so Service Manager gets the email and acts on
it and the other Managers know it was acted on.
Problem is, if the Manager forgets to add in the Change Requester in the email, they don't know it was acted on. I tried using WorkFlows for Change Request to update the Change Requester of an update but there is nothing in there for  Approval or Deny.
I then resorted to subscriptions but can't figure out how to configure the subscription so that only the Change Requester gets the email. We can configure different email templates based on the whether the change was approved or denied. Just need to figure
out how to configure the Recipient.

    I suggest you read this
which is very close to what you want to do.
I've checked the link and found it working. Of course, it works only if the RA is a direct child of work item itself (so for RAs encapsulated in SA or PA it doesn't work).
Below the XML code of the management pack I used. You can engage that, just copy to Notepad and save as ManagementPack.ef9b0adf354c4afe92ede323c9427879.xml

It does work even if it is within a PA or SA or even deeper, you "just" have to follow the path to the CR from there. But then you would need a subscription for each RA depending on where it is in the flow. Try to make your users understand that :D

  • Forcing users to select existing properties in New User Request form

    Hi,
We have just started using Service Manager and Orchestrator.  So far we have successfully managed to create user accounts using orchestrator and service manager.  Now we want to start forcing users to utilise the information we already have in
    our existing Active Directory environment.
So for example, in the new user request form we want users to select an existing "office" using the attributes already in Active Directory as opposed to allowing them to type in an office and potentially accidentally misspelling the office name.
What we would like to see is a unique list of offices and a user to select
How can this be achieved?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Well, if you don't want to create a list manually, create a sealed management pack that defines the root of the new enumerator. Then create a workflow that will pull all users from AD, build the list of the locations used in AD and update the child enumerators
    if required.

  • Communication user is not requested change password

    Hi
We have set a general rule, that users must change password every 90 days (login/password_expiration_time). We have now had a communication user in the system for more than 5 months, and the password is still not expired.
How can this be? Shouldn't communication users be forced to change the password?
In table USR02 I can see a field XUPWDSTATE - "Password Change Mandatory / Optional (See Domain XUPWDSTATE)", but I can't find any documentation on this field. The values are 0,1,254,255. Does anybody know what these values mean and how/when they are set.

    > Regards, Morten
    Well, that's a common misunderstanding:
accounts of type "COMMUNICATION user" are subject of password expiration - however the password change requirement is not enforced (since the server cannot interact with the user). Actually that's not mainly caused by the user type but by the communication protocol being used: RFC and HTTP allow both, interactive and non-interactive system usage. Only the DIAG protocol (used by SAPGUI) ensures that an interaction with the user is possible - and in this case the system is enforcing a password change (when required).
Note 622464 provides an overview on the user types and the ability / requirement to change passwords (and other impacts).
Side-remark: modifying the USR02 field would not have any impact on the password change handling (beside the fact that such direct table manipulations are risky and strongly discouraged).
As reported by other SDN community members (and stated in note 320991, quite at the end) there are some profile parameters that will cause RFC and HTTP based logon to fail for passwords which are expired / initial. Setting those profile parameters will result in a downwards-incompatible system behavior - for this reason the default setting is "off".
Indeed, if you intend to use "technical accounts" for (automated) system-to-system communication, then kindly use the user type "SYSTEM". In that case, the password is neither "expired" nor "initial" - no password change is required nor can it be performed by the SYSTEM user itself. Only an user administrator can set a new password (in systems as of NWAS 7.0: even a downwards-compatible one - despite the password policy, see notes referenced by note 622464).

  • Force all users to change their Enterprise passwords with a batch operation

    Hello,
Do you know if there is a way to force all users to change their Enterprise passwords with a batch operation in the SDK? Is there any implementation done?
    Many thanks!
    Bea

You can logon to Enterprise as Administrator in your SDK application. Query all users using following query:
    select * from ci_systemobjects where si_kind='user'
then loop through the collection InfoObjects returned and cast east object to IUser.
Either call setPasswordToChangeAtNextLogon(true) so that the user logs on next time will be forced to change his\her password. Call commit on InfoObjects collection at the end to save the changes.
Otherwise you can call setNewPassword("new password") to reset password for that user.
Depending upon number of users you can do bath commit. You can use commit(infoObjects, true). The 2nd argument is true for batch commit.

  • Email to Manager of user on Urgent Change Request

I think I asked this before so I apologize but I am trying to figure out a way for a Manager of a user that creates an Urgent Change Control to get an email with the Change Control details.
I created a subscription and it triggers off the Title looking for the word Urgent. That works OK. The subscription uses Change Request as the Target.
The problem comes with the Recipient as is usually the case. I have to use Related Recipients because it could be anyone that submits the Change Request.
    I have tried the following:
About Configuration Item[User] --> Manages User [User]
Is Related to Work Item[Work Item] -->About Configuration Item [User] --> Manages User [User]
Neither of which work. I know the subscription itself is working because the Assigned user gets the email, but the Manager does not.
Is this even possible without using Orchestrator? Seems reasonable that it should be.

    Hi,
You need some custom workflow that will send emails. I posted in the

  • Restrict creation of Change Document without a change request

    Hello Experts,
Is there a way within Charm to restrict the creation of a change document through crmd_order or a business transaction and instead force the creation of all change documents to start from a change request? Some users are bypassing the approval process through sdcr and are using the push button in crmd_order to create a normal correction without having the change approved.
Please advise on a possible solution to fixing this issue.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Raquel,
Thanks for the quick reply. The problem is that the individuals that have access to create an SDMJ or SDHF are the ones creating them directly from crmd_order instead of through the sdcr approval process. From what you are saying I guess there is no way to force them to go through sdcr instead of creating an sdmj directly from crmd_order if they already have access to create a change document?
    Thanks
    Mike
