Forcing Document Types by Transaction

For transaction FBS1 is there a way to force only one document type for the accrual entry?

As suggested by one of our friends above, OB28 is the best way to do this.
You can give by default a specific document type using OBU1.

    Besides using a validation, is it possible to limit document types for certain transactions Eg. FB60 - Doc Type KR and KA and KG ONLY.

    You can create a transaction variant for FB60 using trancode SHD0, select the document type and make it output display only.
    This would prevent the users from using a different document type.

  • Change document type within transaction ABSO

    Hello Experts,
    I am trying to change the standard document type AA to AF for the transaction ABSO. But unfortunately I am getting posted in AA which I don't want.
    Current situation :
    Created a new transaction type Z42 copying an existing transaction type 640 (Unplanned depreciation on prior year acquisitions). Then within the document type I have inserted AF as the default document type (screenshot attached).
    To be :
    Change the document type to AF.
    Any suggestions are welcomed.

    Do you mean when I make a repeat run of  AFAB or AFAR it will create a AF document ?
    But then why is it showing the amount 0 on the movement type but on the unplanned depreciation field the correct amount ?
    Is there something need to be done ?

    Can someone give me a clear and detailed understanding of how to maintain transaction types in SRM system and document types in the backend system based on various scenarios (i.e standalone,classic. extended.....)
    Is it mandatory that the document type assigned in org plan attribute BSA be maintained in the local system as well??

    Thanks for the compliment, but no, I'm in france. I work on SRM for now 5 years, so it helps
    In fact META BAPI are only BAPIs, with a certain way of developping: What SAP calls "Abstraction Layer".
    This allow you to manage Partner system version differences, and backend unavailability, the process is:
    ->META_BAPI
    -First try synchronously
    -->Read table BBP_FUNCTION_MAP (and now get into BADI) to get the exact function module to be called depending on the partner system type and its version
    --->Call of this function (which either makes local actions, or call the backend system with RFC)
    If the system was unable to call the partner system , it creates a job to re-try the call (based on what you entered in customizing).
    Here is the SAP description:
    <i>- Depending on the release level used, you can use various Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs) to implement the business processes in the back end system. The abstraction layer encapsulates the BAPI calls in the back end system that are necessary to generate the back end documents from requirement coverage requests. The abstraction layer accesses the following sources of information:
    -Dispatcher: This function module analyzes the Customizing settings and then knows:
    --     Which driver it must call
    --     Which back end system it is communicating with

  • Transaction ME59N for different PO document types

    Hi,
    I am in process of setting up process for converting PRs into POs automatically through transaction ME59N.
    I have created various document types per Plant. That means, one PO document type for one plant & other document type for another plant.
    Now, my problem is how can I control (or select) the document type while running the program. I want to run the program for MRP generated PRs in various plants with different PO types.
    There is no selection possible for PO document type in transaction ME59N.
    Is there any way out for the selection of PO document type in transaction ME59N.

  • Document type AB needs to be changed

    Hello everybody,
    I have a question regarding document type. The document type AB is made by default for the transaction like f-30, FB1D and many others. I have a request that for the transaction FB1D on specific accounts on clearing a down payment with the invoice the document type to be other than AB precisely AV. Does anyone now a method to do this?

  • How to define certain document type (BKPF-BLART) for certain movement (101)

    Sometimes ( I think it is becuase of the tcode)  certain purchase 101 movements create a WA type FI document and some other times purchase 101 movements create WE type FI documents. I have seen a table ( accessing from omba transaction) in which for diffenent tcode´s we have either WE or WA. If we always use migo transaction why sometimes in bkpf we have migo_tr, migo_gi, ....;....
    How should I do in order to create always WE FI documents for purchase 101 movements?

    Check the settings in SPRO-MM-Inventory Management-Number assignemnt-Define number ranges for accounting documents.
    Here you assign accounting document type to tcodes.
    Normally , WA is used in receipts for MB1C/MIGO_GI tcode - for e.g for 561 mvmt type.
    SAP recomends keeping this setting as it is.
    SAP help text copied here for reference:
    Define Number Assignment for Accounting Documents
    In this step, you set the number ranges for the accounting documents which are created when goods movements or inventory differences are posted.
    Accounting documents in inventory management
    For accounting-relevant goods movements, the system creates two different documents:
    material document
    accounting document
    Both the material documents and the accounting documents have their own document numbers. When inventory differences are posted, the system also creates an accounting document for the physical inventory document.
    In this step, you only maintain the number assignment for accounting documents.
    Document types
    Accounting documents are split into document types to allow differentiated document number assignment, which is the basis for distinguishing between the various accounting operations. A number range is assigned to each document type. In a company code, you have to define number intervals for each number range and fiscal year.
    In inventory management, the transaction determines which document type is used.
    Example: Goods receipt for purchase order
    Requirements
    You have already defined the company code.
    Default Settings
    In the standard SAP System, the following document types are predefined for inventory management:
    WA  for goods issues, transfer postings, other goods receipts
    WE  for goods receipts with reference to purchase orders
    WF  for goods receipts with reference to production orders
    WI  for inventory differences
    WL  for goods issues with reference to deliveries (SD)
    WN  for net posting of goods receipts
    PR  for revaluation documents
    Each document type is already assigned a number range. In company code 0001, number intervals are defined for each number range both for the current and the previous fiscal year.
    Number range 49 with the year-related interval 4900000000 to 4999999999 is assigned to the document types for all goods movements, except goods movements with reference to purchase/production orders.
    Document type WE is used for goods receipts with reference to purchase orders and production orders. This document type is assigned number range 50 with the year-related interval 5000000000 to 5099999999.
    Please note that net postings of goods receipts (document type WN) are not active in the standard SAP System. If you want to post goods receipts net, you have to assign document type WN (instead of WE) to the transaction MB01.
    Document type WI is used for posting inventory differences. This document type is assigned the number range 01 with the year-related interval 0100000000 to 019999999999.

    Activities
    1. Check whether you can use the standard settings.
    2. If not, you have to add new document types to satisfy your requirements:
    a) Define a new document type under Financial accounting document
    b) types.
    c) Assign a number range to the document type.
    d) Under Financial accounting number ranges, define the year-related number intervals for the given number range in your company code. If you do not want to use the year-related number assignment method, enter 9999 in the Year field.
    e) Under Allocate document type to transaction, assign the relevant document type to the transaction codes of inventory management.
    Document type PR (revaluation documents) is already assigned.
    Notes on transport
    You transport number range objects as follows:
    Choose Interval -> Transport in the accounting document Number Range screen.
    All intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.
    Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
    All other activities are linked to the automatic transport.

  • Document types need restricted to specific posting keys

    Hi,
    When posting a KR document type with transaction F-43 we are able to post GL posting key (40) and posting key(50) without ever entering a vendor posting key(31).
    The question is how do we prevent this situation and make sure that a vendor posting key is used. We can use a validation rule but can this be done with standard configuration.

    Use a Validation OB28. You can use document type or transaccion code(f-43) in order to make mandatory the posting key 31. Keep in mind that you would need to use the accounting key 40 in order to post the expense.

    Document types are attached to the transaction being used, not to the movement types.
    You can check the same in transaction OMBA or
    SPRO-> Materials Management-> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory-> Number Assignment-> Define Number Assignment for Accounting Documents
    Under Allocated document types to transactions in the transaction click on the Goods issue document type
    For the Transactions you can see the Document types attached
    These transactions are attached to the Movment types in OMJJ transaction, select the movment type click on Allowed transactions page.
    So based on the transaction attched to the Movement type the
    document type is determined for the Movement types.
    Movemnt type Linked to Transaction & Transaction linked to Document type.

    Good afternoon.
    If you are trying to run a report for a particular cost center (or range of cost centers) and have the report show the GL document number and document type, try transaction KSB1.  You can update the line layout to show these fields.
    If you are trying to run a report for a GL account and have the report show the cost center, run FAGLL03. You can update the line layout to include cost center.

    Hi,
    You can add new custom attributes to ZFIPP. Then you can do your start condition.
    And how company code is not in ZFIPP? Company code is one of the key fields of FIPP, so it has to be there. Or you you mean some other company code?

    If you are running the F.47 is back ground then it would have created a batch job session in SM37. go there and change the variant. Hope my understanding is correct.
