Forecast Consumption in SNP for shipped qty's

Hello experts,
I got a question for forecast consumption in SNP and whether forecast stays "consumed" or not after a customer orders gets shipped (Post Goods Issue).
My example is: I have a weekly bucket forecast qty of 100 in DP and release this to SNP. Now in SNP planning book I have 30 units of open Customer Demand against it ... means I have 70 in Forecast line (30 units got consumed correctly). Once I create a shipment for the open Customer Order of 30 units in R3 the situations remains the same .. but if I post the Goods Issue now on the delivery document the Customer Demand disappears (which is correct) but my Forecast line increases again from 70 to 100. I thought forecast consumption in APO would "remember" the already shipped quantities ? I know that you can reorganize open forecast but want I'm looking for is the standard R3 behaviour of keeping already shipped qty's as consumed. Can anybody help here or explain ?

Using SCM5.0

Hi Datta,
I checked the note  - there is only point 9 in the list saying:
"9. During goods issue for the delivery in R/3, the forecast is always reduced to the date requested by the customer. In addition, overdeliveries are ignored."
Unfortunately this doesn't explain how it works or needs to be done to have FCST consumption happen in APO_SNP based on shipped qty's. In my case FCST consumption works okay up to the point of posting the goods issue on a delivery document. I wonder if there something I need to activate somewhere to have this working since I can't see any "with drawn qty" in APO.
Any other hints ?

  • Forecast Consumption in SNP for Make-to-Order products

    We are working on using APO-SNP for Make-to-order products (PlngStrategyGroup = "81" in R/3). We want to achieve normal forecast consumptino on FinishedGoodLevel and generate PlndOrders which shall derive component demand for purchasing (such PlndOrers wont be released to production - they should only function as demand driven on component level)
    What we have done so far: Forecast in APO-DP on Finished good level exists and has been released to SNP. The product gets "ciffed" from R/3 into APO material master with planning strategy group "20" (which is basically "make-to-stock") --> we were hoping this would allow us to use "normal" forecast consumption but nothing happens (FCST is not being consumpted by open Sales orders). Within the product view of such products APO is still "realizing" that this is a make-to-order product.
    Any other ideas / thoughts what could be done to achieve "normal" forecast consumption on FGI level for make-to-order products in APO-SNP ?
    Tks !

    I checked in /n/SAPAPO/RRP3 (Product View), unfortunately only FC exists there
    Seems that the open Sales Orders from R/3 are being created within another segment (the "element" Tab of RRP3 shows 2 segments:
    1) "Make-to-stock" (which contains the FC)
    2) "Make-to-order" (which contains the Sales Orders)
    That might explain the issue I see (FC and SOs are in different planning segment --> no consumption). Reading about planning segments in the help sounds like I need to find a way to bring Sales Orders for Make-to-Order products into the Make-to-stock segment  ... jus a thought .. any idea how to do this ? Does that mean I need to modify the CIF for Sales Order transfer for Make-to-order products ?
    Tks

  • IMP:Forecast Consumption/Netting by incoming Sales orders in SNP

    Dear All,
    I need your help to understand the logic of Forecast netting by Sales orders in SNP. I can see the details in /SAPAPO/RRP3 but getting puzzled for soem SKUs. We don't have any PP/DS and GATP implemented.
    Below are the details and question based on that:
    I am releasing my forecast monthly and Sales orders as usual are coming from ECC and netting happens. Then next month again i have my forecast release then will the existing Sales orders will consume my this month's forecast (we are following backward/ foreward consumption type with 35 days back and 1 day forward, so as per the time period, SO can consume Forecast). I am a bit confused because pegging relationship is created between the demand and supply element and so new forecast shouldn't be consumed by the existing Sales orders. Am i correct here?
    Secondly, could somebody explain the difference between the 'Overview and detail' tab under the Forecast tab in /SAPAPO/RRP3. Sometimes i see some data under the 'Withdrawal Qty' column in Detail view of Forecast tab. Could somebody explain when it is populated.
    Regards
    Bishwajit

    Hi,
    I think your first question is regarding the pegging relationships used for forecasting.  Even when you release a new forecast, the system remembers the forecast relationship.  So, pegging occurs but in the sense that it pegs to forecast - in general - not to one specific forecast order in the system.  If you desire to "reset" these relationships, then you need to run the program for reorganization of independent requirements (/SAPAPO/MD74).
    Your second question relates to the existence of a withdrawal quantity and differences between the overview and details in /SAPAPO/RRP3.  The withdrawal quantity represents the amount of forecast that has been "reduced" from the forecast (corresponding to actual shipments that have been PGI'd against deliveries).   Forecast consumption occurs when SO's and Deliveries are created and saved and reduction occurs when they are PGI'd.  Withdrawal quantity corresponds to the reduction...
    Hope this helps!

  • User exits/BAdIs for Forecast consumption by sales order

    Hello Experts,
    My question here is: When Sales Order either new or change comes from ECC to APO, what are key fields considered for Forecast Consumption? Is requirements strategy is considered from location product master or Sales Order brings own data from ECC into it's own structure? I have read from SAP help or documentation that Sales Order coming from ECC does not use requirement strategy from Product Master. Rather it get its own fields like planning strategy/group / requirement class from ECC. It uses location product master only to get consumption parameters like forward/back word consumption days. So I am thinking to use some user exits or BAdIs to enhance the incoming sales orders to consume separate forecast categories in APO.
    My requirement is:
    For the same one product we want sales orders (can have two different order types or identify by a custom field) to consume two different order categories (ie. FA & FC) by enhancing incoming sales orders. So we have regular 1)Forecast key figure which is 'FA' category and 2)Forecast Additional key figure which is FC category. When we release two separate forecasts from DP we release into these two key figures and categories. Now we want incomping sales orders to consume these two categories separately when our sales orders are having two different order types (i.e OR and ZR).
    I want to kow what way we can acomplish this? Are there any user exits or BAdIs for this purpose?
    I looked arount BAdI /SAPAPO/DM_BADI_CSP and I am not quite sure it's going to help. Are there any others?
    I appreciate if anybody explain me the process?
    Thanks in advance!
    Raj

    Standard Logic --- Whatever plant is visible in the Sales Order, the sales order will appear under that Product Location in SNP
    There is no standard way of making the sales order visible in another location.
    Depending on your requirement(Ex: Forecast Consumption, planning etc),using APO-BW we can simulate the requirements in the other plant which can be a nightly run and not immediate.
    Now coming to your question, if the delivering plant is A, how does ECC Delivery document know when the sales order has plant B that the delivering plant is A.
    Can you be more specific.
    THanks

  • Dropship SO can be used for forecast Consumption?

    Hi Arpita,
    There is no such sis report available. You will have to configure and create two seperate reports and do the comparison.
    If you want, I will send you the list of all T.codes used to generate reports in SD.
    Revert back to me if you need the same.

  • Release Of Forecast From DP To SNP (For Some Locations, Only Baseline)

    Dear All,
    Generally, we follow the following procedure....In the month begining, we generate the baseline forecast for all the locations (we are having around 20 branches). Then we used to open the DP planning book for a couple of days to our branch persons so that they are able to feed their correction. After which we release the final forecast i.e. Baseline Forecast +/- Branch correction to SNP for further proceesing.
    This month, we opened the planning book (as usual). Branches did  the branch correction. But on final checking, we found that around 4 -  5 branches have done corrections / updations very vagely i.e. roughly. So, we wants to ignore their branch correction.
    My query be that is it possible that while releasing the Forecast from DP to SNP... can we release baseline forecast for selective five branches and for the rest of the branches, we wants to release final forecast key figure i.e. Baseline +/- Branch correction.
    Kindly advise further.

    You have not mentioned at what level you are doing the forecasting. If forecasting is done at material- branch level then what you are asking can be achieved easily. All you have to do is go to /n/sapapo/mc90 ( or create a release profile) and for the branches for which you want to release baseline forecast , you have to specify the baseline forecast keyfigure in the input and specify the material branches in the i/p criteria. For adjusted forecast you have to use another variant and specify the adjusted forecast key figure and the corresponding material branches.
    Iam not sure how your requirement can be achieved in case you are forecasting @ material level.
    Thanks

  • Planning for Sales orders for quantities greater than forecast in APO SNP

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement in which planning in SNP is done based on the forecast  quantity transferred from DP . Demand from Sales orders is not taken into consideration for planning . The PO's are created based on the forecast quantity only SO's consume forecast  . Now a situation arises where we have the sales orders quantity  ( say 400) is more than that of the forecast( say 300 ) , this means  for quantity of 100 no planning is being done by SNP.
    We want to know are there any ways of getting the remaining quantity being planned by SNP
    The planning strategy used is 40 in ECC
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Surendra

    Hi Surendra,
    For better control, the forecast quantity should match the sales order quantity for plg strategy 40.  If there are cases when sales order quantity is greater than forecast, you can create a control check in ECC to inform the users who creates the sales orders to get a popup message to create a sales order with rush order type or any other type to track the excess sales orders received against forecast.
    In SNP, once this rush order is entered, upon subsequent net change heuristic plan which runs day night, it considers those excess quantities and puts up purchase requisitions and procurement & production can be planned based using those PRs in SNP.
    Please confirm

  • How to migrate Tax lines in Data Migration for Partial Shipped Qty?

    Hi,
    We are migrating 11.0.3 Orders to R12 and there are some Sales Orders which are in Partial Shipped status. In this scenario, we are bringing two lines where one line is completely closed and other line is awaiting shipment.
    My question is, how to manage the Taxation for this type of lines?
    For e.g. If original line is of 10 qty, 4 qty is already shipped. So we are bringing this line as Closed. For 6 qty, we are bringing line in Awaiting Shipment status. How to derive at the correct tax amount for this type of line?
    Client is storing Tax amount in 11.0.3 at Header level.

    Through the TopLink code API, you can set an
    Expression as the additionalJoinExpresssion for a
    descriptor, this "filter" will be applied to all
    queries for this class.
    i.e.
    ExpressionBuilder builder = new ExpressionBuilder();
    descriptor.getQueryManager().setAdditionalJoinExpressi
    on(builder.get("region").equal("AU"));The problem with this solution is that the parameter ("AU") is hard-coded in the mappings. Hibernate filters can use session-specific parameters. That allows, for instance, session A to filter on region="AU" and session B to filter on region="NZ".
    To resolve this problem, I wrote a new expression class that can retrieve a parameter value from a TopLink session property:
    class SessionPropertyExpression extends ParameterExpression {
    public SessionPropertyExpression(String propertyName, Expression base) {
    super(propertyName, base);
    public Object getValue(DatabaseRow databaserow,
    oracle.toplink.publicinterface.Session session) {
    return session.getProperties().get(getField().getName());
    The new expression class can be used in the mappings. For instance:
    ExpressionBuilder builder = new ExpressionBuilder();
    SessionPropertyExpression propertyExpr = new SessionPropertyExpression
    ("regionCode", builder);
    descriptor.getQueryManager().setAdditionalJoinExpression(builder.get("region").equal(propertyExpr );
    The application can set the property in the TopLink session associated with a particular request. For instance;
    Session A
    session.setProperty("regionCode", "AU");
    Session B
    session.setProperty("regionCode", "NZ");

  • CTM - Forecast Consumption for Dependent Demand

    Hi
    We have a scenario where the Planning Strategy for a assembly part (say X) is set to a custom copy of 70 so that forecast is consumed by dependent demand. Forecasts are released from DP for such assemblies.
    The Parent of this assembly (say A) is defined when sales order is taken (Engineer-To-Order scenario) and BOM defined with X under it. The Finished Good 'A' itself may have any other planning strategy (say Make-To-Stock or Make-To-Order).
    The problem we are seeing is that when system plans for X during a CTM run, the system adds the the dependent demand of the parent to the forecast of X itself. There is no forecast consumption, so this leads to doubling up of demand.
    I understand that forecast consumption occurs in Livecache and CTM does not store the intermediate results of planning in Livecache as orders, so there is no forecast consumption.
    Any suggestions on how forecast consumption of dependent demand can be achieved during the CTM run ?
    Thanks
    Rishi Menon

    Hi,
    Request you to go thru the CTM help library under topic sub assembly planning to resolve your issue..
    It says you need to carryout two CTM runs.
    In the first CTM planning run, you plan the sales orders, and in the second CTM planning run that you then execute immediately afterwards, you plan the planned independent demands of the assembly.

    I have created a generic extractor, in the past, with the FEBEP table. However, my requirement was to join it with the BSID and BSAD tables in order to determine payments that have been received into the lockbox but not cleared, so that the Credit Department has a more up-to-date look at customer accounts.
    If you have multiple companies you could end up with a Cartesian product when the data for this view is rendered because the Accounting Document and Fiscal Year don't uniquely identify records in BSEG and BKPF. Additionally, you wouldn't know exactly which Accounting Document Line Item is the correct record on BSEG. Both of these cases are potential sticky points for both a custom view or User Exit in CMOD, unless you've been given by the end customer a way to mitigate these. For instance, you may be able to derive the Company Code for the FEBEP entry by using the Cost Center or Profit Center, unless your Cost Centers or Profit Centers can span across companies.

  • Which order type gets collected and is used for forecast consumption

    Hi all,
    I would like to know which Order Types (transaction types) get collected into ASCP (appear as demand) and which Order Types are used for forecast consumption.
    I tried to find something in the user guides, but had not yet success :(
    What I want to do:
    1. decide which order types are collected or not
    2. decide which order types consume forecast or not
    Anyone any advices?
    Big thanks in advance,
    David.

    Hi,
    Rather speaking like Order types, we may use word Sales Order. ASCP will collect all the Sales Orders for which we need to intiate action for Supplies. How it is determined?. It is determined from SO lines where in we have So lines are scheduled(it is prt of Workflow action too) and It is flaged 'Yes' for "Visible Demand Flag" . This is what designed functionality. We do not care what type of order type it is.
    thanks,
