Planning for Sales orders for quantities greater than forecast in APO SNP

Hi All,
We have a requirement in which planning in SNP is done based on the forecast quantity transferred from DP . Demand from Sales orders is not taken into consideration for planning . The PO's are created based on the forecast quantity only SO's consume forecast . Now a situation arises where we have the sales orders quantity ( say 400) is more than that of the forecast( say 300 ) , this means for quantity of 100 no planning is being done by SNP.
We want to know are there any ways of getting the remaining quantity being planned by SNP
The planning strategy used is 40 in ECC

Hi Surendra,
For better control, the forecast quantity should match the sales order quantity for plg strategy 40. If there are cases when sales order quantity is greater than forecast, you can create a control check in ECC to inform the users who creates the sales orders to get a popup message to create a sales order with rush order type or any other type to track the excess sales orders received against forecast.
In SNP, once this rush order is entered, upon subsequent net change heuristic plan which runs day night, it considers those excess quantities and puts up purchase requisitions and procurement & production can be planned based using those PRs in SNP.

How do I search for files greater than 500M in size within a directory?

I would like to know how to recursively search through a directory and it's subdirectories for files greater than 500M. What is the command for this?

Dear All,
Our requirement is such that for a project, we need to define a billing plan at header level of sales order.
As of now we are defining billing plan at sales order line item which are having accunt assignment to WBS elements.
Pl. let me know whether we can add billing plan at SO header level and if it is possible then how to do it. Because right now there is no tab available for "Billing Plan" at SO header level.
If we can add it then will it be valid for all item levels?

I am trying to write a query to select results from a database table where the results are only fields greater than 10 characters in length.
e.g.

Jamal
the query would only show the result Jennifer Smith because this field exceeds 10 characters in length.
Any help is appreciated....

Schedule line getting confirmed when Ordered Quanity is greater than stock.

Hi Sap Gurus,
We have an issue in one of the sales scenario.
In one of the sales orders the ordered quanity is purposely maintained greater than the stock at respective storage location(batch managed).
In this case the schedule line should not get confirmed and it should not allow delivery document creation.
But in the sales order the schedule lines are geeting confirmed and even the delivery document is getting created with picking request completion.
Could you please help to understand :
1. why the schedule lines are getting confirmed when ordered quantity > Inventory?
2. How do I stop delivery document creaton in this scenario?

Say for example :
Production workcenter capacity to produce the XYZ material 10qty in a Day.
today i have created the sales order XYZ materail qty of 100. lead days has give based of MMR 21 days 17-07-2010( 3 sundays)
and in same day i have created other sales order XYZ material qty 5000 ,the lead days again it will came 17-07-2010.
Now my client requiremnt is when the schedule days is confirming in the sale order it sholud also consider the production capacity planning also
Even though my work centers are overloaded it is confirming the sales order on 17-07-2010 (based on leads days in MMR)

Tell your client he needs to install SCM. Here, you can use either CTP or MLATP to confirm orders based on production capacity.
There are a couple of standard workarounds available in R/3.
One is to create a constrained forecast for planning materials, consistant with capacity, convert the forecast to PIRs, and then perform ATP against 'Planning' rather than against product, using MRP Strategy 63.

Another method is to leave the Sales orders unconfirmed at original order entry (eg, no lead time). Run MRP, run capacity levelling, firm the levelled planned orders, and then run BOP (called 'rescheduling' in R/3) against the unconfirmed backlog, with an ATP that considers firmed planned orders as supply elements. The sales orders will confirm against the planned orders, which are scheduled according to available capacity.
Either of these two methods will work, but the CTP SCM solution is by far the better answer. Downside of SCM solution in general is the substantial implementation effort required.

Automatic Single Item multi-level planning on sales order creation

I am using strategy 50 and want planning for single item to be carried out at the time of sales order creation to avoid MRP run everytime sales order is created..In order to achieve it i checked Automatic Planning Indicator in "OVZG" for the requirement class "045" which is requirement class for sales order of strategy 50. But still unable to achieve the desired result..

in sales order go to Procurement tab there u will get the requirement type. system will determine requirement class based upon following criteria
1) by strategy group in material master
2) if strategy group not there then MRP group
3) if mrp group not there then material type
4) by this also not able to fine the requirement type then special rule is used with the help of item category and mrp type
5) if this also fails then it will go with item category only
6) this also fails then it will give any requirement type

Handling Planned order created from Demand planning and Sales order in MTO

In MTO\ Repetitive we genrate Dependent requirement from demand planning (PIR) after running MRP which finally planned order created but on the other hand in short term we have Sales order which generate planned order after running MRP(In MTO), How we should handle planned order generated from Demand planning and the ones generated from sales order.(both after MRP Running).

You can combine the planning strategy also main as 56 and second as 65 and in demand managment MD61 you have the option select requirement type.
Then while creating sales order use MTO strategy and take MRP run through MD50 and then MD02.
and if you want to assign the stock to sales order then you and do it through MB1b with 412 E movement type.
As per my knowledge, generally 56 strategy only takes Sales Order Stock into consideration.
Consider setting the Individual/Collective indicator to 2.
Mark those characteristics that should have a usage probability in demand management as Relevant for planning.

You have to enable the PERIODIC BILLING as the billing plan for your case.
You can refer to the OSS note 831158 which gives lot of other OSS notes for you to configure the scenario.

Bill Plan with Sales Order item rejected

Milestone Billing Plan created.
IMG Config Sales Order Item Reason for Rejection = BIC checked (Not Relevant for Billing)
Add material on the (Billing Plan) Sales Order Item.
Set the Item Reason For rejection (same reason as set in IMG config for BIC above)
Create some Billing Plan dates (at the sales order header).
[F3] back. You get an info message "Value-based differences in the billing plan cannot be allocated"
Save the Order.. All is fine.
If I do not set a reason for rejection on the item all is fine.
Can anyone explain this ?

I have resolved the problem myself. I have used sap note : 97272 and downloaded the utility/ correction program ZZUNREJE and ran it for rejected sales line item.
The reason for rejection was successfully reversed without touching any of the associated POs.

BAPI or Function to update Billing Plan in Sales Order Items

Hello all !
     I have to update some fields in the billing plan data in sales order's item (VA02) with a program (receiving it's data form csv files).
     I've searched a BAPI but infortunately there are no "Billing Plan" data structure to update thoses fields.
     The transaction in VA02, the billing plan data is found in FPLT table, linked to VBKD table with key field VBKD-FPLNR.
     I've tried theses Functions with no result :
BILLING_SCHEDULE_MAINTAIN
BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE
BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGEBOS
BAPI_SALESDOCUMENT_CHANGE
For now I'm searching how VA02 is saving the billing plan data, but it's very tricky and maybe not reusable.
     If someone have an idea for updating billing plan data in a abap program ( and not a batch input of VA02 because the line to update can have a variable position ).

Can the project status be influenced by billing plan in sales order?

I am facing the following problem:
I linked the WBS Element to a sales order billing plan (in header: account assignment).
Now, is there a possibility to prevent changing the status of the project to close technically, while there are still some invoices of the billing in the sales order not billed?
I want to make sure that a project can only be closed once all the invoices related to the project were billed.

I have different view here:
System status is set to FNBL automatically when all the items in the sales orders are billed. So user does not really need to set it.
TECO is a status which should follow FNBL generally speaking. And it has to be put manually.
Now, if the requirement is to throw an error when FNBL or TECO is put manually if not all the sales orders items are billed- it can be done by using validation.
A validation can be activated which will check for any open billing item for that WBS when status is set to TECO. If there is any, it will throw an error while saving WBS with TECO.So it will not allow to set TECO. T code for validation is OPSI.
