Form completion on iPad

On numerous sites when entering my email address I get a message "must enter a valid email address". The email address is correct but it won't take it. When I go to the same form on my MacBook all is fine.
This only happens on my ipad2.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

What iPad app did you use?
Some apps like ExpertPDF do a reasonable job, but it does not have all of the features that desktop Acrobat/Reader has.
You have to test your form and possibly work around the limitations of the app.

  • How can I create editable forms on an iPad?

I would like to be able to have a form on my iPad (do not care what format it is in) that I can fill in fields and then print out or email. I do not need to save the data entered into the data fields on the form.

Tab? Not really a function native to iOS except maybe in some browsers using a web form. Its possible you  might find an app supporting that, but i have my doubts. As for completing a form, there are several apps available that support that at a variety of price points, but you may have difficulty finding one that will write protect the file from anyone with a full version of Acrobat. Not impossible, but obviously a search through the app store and some close reading of descriptions and reviews is in your future.

  • I'm looking for an app that will allow me to upload my contracts and forms to my iPad, fill in a customer's personal information, sign them, save them and email them.

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to upload my contracts and forms to my iPad, fill in a customer's personal information, sign them, save them and email them.  I looked at easySign, Filemaker, FM Touch, Sign Docs, Zosh, Exzact, Mi-Co

FormConnect (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/formconnect/id432653695?mt=8&ls=1) can handle the filling out, signing, saving and emailing the contracts/forms but uploading the contract and the form is going to be a challenge because you’re dealing with paper documents that have to be scanned.  If you can convert the scanned documents into an OCR program, you might be able to copy and paste the contract without having to retype it but the form itself is probably going to have to be recreated.  Alternatively, you could use a document annotation program such as iAnnotate and mark up the contract with ink.

  • Having Problems Seeing your LiveCycle Designer Forms on the iPAD Adobe Reader App?

I'm not a computer wize and very new to Adobe and creating forms with LiveCycle.  So apologize to anyone that reads this and says "duh", but hopefully it will be helpful to someone out there who is struggling like I was.
    First off - the IPad will will definitely be able to view your livecycle forms regardless of what anyone else says!  These were my steps;
    1. Create form in LiveCycle Designer.
    2. When you save, select "save as"
    3. When the dialogue box opens, and you are creating the name of what you are going to call your file, below you will see a drop down box labeled "Save As Type".  Make sure you switch the file type to "Adobe Static PDF Form (*.pdf)"
    And that's it!
Here is another tip for a user like me:)
I need to create a form to post to a website, where people fill it in and save it to their computers.  I found that when I just saved the form straight from LiveCycle Designer and then posted, some of the free adobe versions wouldn't let the user fill it in.  So this is what I did,
    1. Follow the first 3 steps I listed above.
    2. Next open Adobe (the full version) not the reader.  I have Adobe X.
    3. Got to "Save As".  It will give you a bunch of options.  Select "Reader Extended PDF" and then "Enable Additional Features"
    Add that should be it!
One more tip for the average to low level user.  We had some feedback that when someone open my form in the iPad app. they were not able to fill it in.  They could, but what they didn't realize was they needed to select the icon at the top that is a little picture of a speech bubble and pencile.

Yup. I filled in the form and made a bunch of comments, closed the app and everything I had filled in on the form was still there. I also tried emailing the filled in form to myself and opening it. The comments and filled in sections don't appear when I open it in my email viewer, but as long as I open it in the adobe app everything is still there.
Now all I have to do is to convince my web guy not to be mad when I Tell him he has to repost all my files (JK) ;)

  • Forms Completion Mystery

I use a PC running Win 7 Ultimate (64bit) & Acrobat Pro X. I have created a form Using Acrobat Pro X. I gave the form Reader Extended features & sent it to multiple recipients inside & outside my LAN. When some recipients return what they believe is a completed form, it is blank when I open it, even though they can open/close it multiple times on their desktop & their completed fields display fine. One such recipient uses a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.8 & Acrobat 9. I can read fine the forms completed by other Mac recipients running 10.6.6 and Acrobat 9. Any suggestions? Is there a compatibility issue with MacBooks?

There is a knowm issue with the PDF viewer software that Apple provides. If your users use Adobe Reader then they will not have the issue. Here is a link to a forum post that discusses the issue and gives a potential solution:

  • Can I have Email Recipients of a PDF Form Complete via Smart Phone Email?

    Hello Adobe PDF Forum,
Is it possible to have email recipients of my PDF form complete via their smart phone email platform?  If so, could you step me through the 'how to' process in making this possible for my recipients?
Thank you!  Have a great afternoon.
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
Your recipients can use the free Adobe Reader mobile app for iOS or Android to fill out PDF forms via their smart phones. They can download the Reader mobile app from Features | Adobe Reader mobile app. Then, when they receive an email from you with your form attached, they can open it directly from the email client into the Reader mobile app and fill it out. Easy!
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Has anyone found an app for creating fillable pdf forms on an ipad?

I have found many apps that allow me to fill in already created fillable pdf forms on an ipad, but I'm wondering if there are any apps that allow the creation of PDF forms on an ipad?  (similar to adobe professional...?).  Thanks for your time!

PDFpen pro can be used on the Mac to generate fillable forms.  It is much less expensive than Acrobat.
For IOS, I would check out
    PDF Expert by Readdle
    DocuSign Ink
I know the allow you to sign your name on PDF forms.
I would think they can extend that to fillable forms.

  • How to set up automatic form filling on iPad

Can anyone tell me how do I to set up automatic form filling on iPad.

    From the iPad User guide.
    “Fill in forms
Whether you’re logging in to a website, signing up for a service, or making a purchase, you can fill in a web form using the onscreen keyboard or have Safari fill it in for you using AutoFill.
Tired of always having to log in? When you’re asked if you want to save the password for the site, tap Yes. The next time you visit, your user name and password will be filled in for you.
Fill in a form. Tap any field to bring up the onscreen keyboard. Tap  or  above the keyboard to move from field to field.
Fill it in automatically. Go to Settings > Safari > Passwords & Autofill and turn on Use Contact Info. Then, tap AutoFill above the onscreen keyboard when you’re filling in the form. Not all websites support AutoFill.”

    Hello Samrocker69,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that situations where your iPad does not respond or turn on can be both frustrating and concerning. In this situation, there are several steps that I would suggest working through to troubleshoot. Please use the attached article below as a reference.

  • LiveCycle form Completion

A form I created has fields to be filled in by different applicants
    .Example. 1 Form has 4 sections -
Section A : to be filled and signed by 1st applicant.
Section B: to be filled and signed by 2nd applicant.
Section C: to be filled and signed by 3rd applicant.
Section D: to be filled and signed by 4th applicant.
All the steps are in sequence.
After the applicant 4 fills in the form the application is finally submitted.
I am not sure if this process can be mapped in workbench as it is the form completion process and the user 2,3 and 4 are defined by user 1 in section A by capturing their mail ID.
All the applicants of 1 form can be in different locations.
Not sure if workbench has this ability?

Installing it first, eh.  Now why didn't I think of that.
Thanks very much indeed.  I have posted a rather fuller account of my various issues at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4408527#4408527.  You've answered question 3, but if you have any brigfht ideas on the others that would be very welcome.

  • Can I use PDF forms on an iPAD?

I have completed a multi page interactive PDF file. It is a survey and works fine off a laptop or desktop.
My client has expressed an interest in having this work on an iPAD. The idea is use the iPAD for its convenience and then send the completed form via email back to the home office.
Presently my file does not reveal the fields so I am thinking I need to do something more. I've got an iPAD but with less  than a week experience. I am speculating that it is the nature of the platform and probably the only way to make this work is to have the form on a server and use safari to be the depository.
The business problem is a chronic web connection to work this way is not an assumption.
    Thanks for any thoughts

You and your clients can try an iPad app under the title PDF Expert. Above all available features, I usually use this application to fill out PDF forms. PDF Expert even works with those forms that have built-in calculations. What is mostly important for me as a lawyer - sign up feature, that allows me affirm contracts, agreements, etc with the own signature right on the iPad and email back the documents to the office or clients.
More information and features you can find in the app's description: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pdf-expert-fill-forms-annotate/id393316844?mt=8

  • Is there a way to enable tabbing betwen form fields on ipad?

I have forms created in Adobe Acrobat X Pro on an ipad 3. The forms work as expected apart from being able to use the tab key to move between fields. is there any way to enable this on the ipad. Works fine on a pc and tabs in the correct order.
    thanks.

There is no tab button on the on screen keyboard. Instead, there you should use the prev/next. As for the bluetooth, this is something we're considering. One odd issue with PDF is that the fields aren't actually fillable fields until they are activated by tap. This is why the standard prev/next behavior with the tab key on the bluetooth keyboard doesn't work. However, this is something we're actively investigating for a future release. It won't be in our next release, but please keep an eye out for future updates.

  • How to allow users to post an image in a PDF form using their IPADS

    Hello,
I need help with a work project.  I need to create forms for our trainers to use on site.  I have Adobe XI Pro and can do the basics, however I would love for the trainers to be able to submit photo's, video etc with their PDF forms.  Can anyone tell me how I can get Adobe XI Pro to insert an image field, so when the trainers are conducting an assessment they can take a photo with their ipad and embed into a designated area on the form?  I would be ever so grateful.

The only PDF Viewer on the iPad that I know supports this is Readdle's PDF Expert. Adobe Reader for iOS does not. It involves using the buttonImportIcon JavaScript method. More information here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6037991
