Format of line above split footnote

hi, i have formatted footnotes in my document the way that footnotes start below a 0,5pt line which is of the same width as the text frame. but with long footnotes which must be split the problem is that i can't apply the same format to the line above the footnote which is split, the line is formatted automatically as a 1pt line with a length about three fifths of the the witdth of the text frame. how can i apply the same fotmat to all lines above footnotes?
thanks

Does the paragraph style you have set for your footnotes have a paragraph rule applied to it? You can see this in the Paragraph Style Options panel under "Paragraph Rules"

I run a sql*plus report whch i want to be outputted to XLS file. But the format is not matching. I am using data->texttocolumns feature of excel , which is manual .
As the headers are coming dynamically from query . i CAN NOT set header off.
    So first of all ,
I want to get rid of the first blank line above the hearder.
i want to get rid of the dotted line below header .

    Hi,
You are not being clear here,
As the headers are coming dynamically from query . i CAN NOT set header off. You are saying that you have SQL*Plus script but can't use the SET command?
Besides, that I thing you want SET PAGES 0, instead of SET HEADER OFF.
If you could paste your SQL*Plus script here (Perhaps replacing the actual query with a very simple one, then perhaps we can help.

  • Lines above and below the total values

    Hi All,
This is for an invoice. I display line items and then the totals. I want to draw lines above and below the total values. i am able to underline the total values using the paragraph formats but that will give only lines below the values. how can I get the lines above and below the values in correct proportions? Please give me some ideas on how to do this.
    Thank you,
    Prathima.

    Prathima,
You should not be using ULINE and VLINE commands here. Instead you have to declare boxes.
    /:           BOX FRAME 10 TW
/:           BOX XPOS  '3.0' CM  WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
/:           BOX XPOS  '6.0' CM  WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
/:           BOX XPOS  '9.0' CM  WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
/:           BOX XPOS '12.0' CM  WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Using boxes is advantageous in a lot of ways as you can specify the x and y positions exactly.
    Thanks

  • Regarding the color of the line of the footnote

Hi I'm using pages 09, - love it!
I'm currently doing a major repport, in where I need to have a specific coloscheme. It works quite well in all aspects, except regaring the black line that occurs when I put in a foot note. So my problem is, how can I change the color of the standardized black line?
Just to sum i up, I have no problem whatsoever of drawing a line in my colorscheme it's only regarding the black line which seperates your acctual text from your foot notes.
Looking forward to hear from you all,
    regards
    DenmarkC

There isn't any setting regarding the footnote line. What you can do is use a line shape and position it above the footnote line. Copy it and past it on the next page with a footnote and so forth.

  • Read line and split into different fields

I have a flat file with space (multiple spaces between different fields) as a delimiter. The problem is, file is coming from 3rd party and they don't want to change the separator as comma or tab delimited CSV file. I have to load data in ODS (BW 3x).
Now I am thinking to load line by line and then split data into different objects in Transfer rules.
    The Records looks like:
    *009785499     BC               2988              244        772       200
    *000000033     AB                     0                  0            0           0
    *000004533    EE                     8                  3            2           4
Now I want data to split like:
    Field1 = 009785499
    Field2 = BC
    Field3 = 2988
    Field4 = 244
    Field5 = 772
    Field6 = 200
After 1st line load, go to 2nd line and split the data as above and so on. Could you help me with the code pleaseu2026?
Is it a good design to load data? Any other idea?
    Thanks.

    Hi Mau,
First capture the data into the internal table (say itab).
    Loop at itab.
      it_final-field1 = itab+1(9).
      it_final-field2 = itab+12(2).
      it_final-field1 = itab+16(4).
      it_final-field1 = itab+21(3).
      it_final-field1 = itab+25(3).
      it_final-field1 = itab+29(3).
      Append it_final.
    Endloop.

  • Red line above the time line

How do I get it so after initially importing my video the line above the time line will be green instead of red.  It stays red until after I render the whole clip.  I am importing my video clips from my camcorder.  How do you determine the correct project settings if that is the issue?
    Thanks

    freedog69
How do I get it so after initially importing my video the line above  the
time line will be green instead of red.
Not possible as worded. If you have the correct project preset, there  will
be no colored line over this Timeline content.
If you do not have the correct project preset, there will be a red line
    over this Timeline content.
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer
operating system is it running? APE 8  Windows XP 3GB  of ram Pentium Dual core
    Proc 2.41 Ghz
If you are talking "red" line, then you must be working with a version of
Premiere Elements earlier than 11. Assuming that....
If your project preset matches the properties of your source media, then,
when you bring one of those files to the Timeline, you will get no colored
line  over the Timeline. But, after that, after you edit that content, a red
line will  appear. That is when you render the Timeline content to turn the
line  green.Thereafter, that original content will never revert to the no
colored line  status as you work through editing that project. It will just go
through the red  green color indicator system.
No colored line and green = the program telling you that you now have the
best possible preview of the Timeline content when viewing it in the Edit
Mode  monitor playback. Red line = the program telling you that you do not
have the  best possible preview of the Timeline content and, if you want that,
then you  can press the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to make that
    happen.

  • Is there a way to create a heading with shading behind the text and thin lines above and below?

    I'm working with InDesign CS6, Windows 7.
Is there a way, using paragraph rules, to create a heading with shading behind the text and thin lines above and below the text?
I'd like to create headings that look like these:
    Thank you!

I have a document where I almost do such, but without the fill. I use a Head Style which Spans Columns for this instance; it allows the haeds to flow and fill the width.
Paragraph Rules above and below are turned on with plenty of offset.
I tweaked my setting to accomodate your need - It required only one instance, not above and below, and changing the stroke to a double stroke.
It may be necessary to create a custom stroke to modify the proportion of stroke vs fill. There is a difference of thin-thin and  thick-thick, neither of which seemed perfect but might be dependent on the Character height.
Creating custom strokes is accomplished via the Strokes Panel.

  • Sequence clip with  red line above

I imported several clips from a Nikon D300s camera into PP, and put on a sequence timeline.  4 show the yellow line above, indicating matching settings, but 2 show red lines, and I don't know what is different.  All were done at the same time, and shouldn't have any different settings, to not match like the others.  What could be the reason?

Originally, I created the sequence by matching the camera settings, and then imported all the video clips.  that's why I don't know why 4 would have yellow lines and 2 red, since they were all from the same source camera and day.  All had been put on one sequence.
After finding I could have separate sequences within a project, today, I dragged the original, untrimmed AVI files to the new sequence box so they would match for sure, and then I copied and pasted the same (but trimmed) file to this sequence, so each of the 6 has its own sequence.  Still the 2 have the red line.  I didn't find any effects to clear either.

    Hi,
when clearing open items we need to preserve the line item split in clearing document as it was in cleared items. We need one item per assignment in clearing document. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi
I am unable to bold a random Cell vertical line inside the cross-tab. My cross-tab is having access database which pulls every data correctly,
To elaborate , here is the images to make it clear.
First one is the current output of cross-tab & 2nd one is the desired output :
To make it more clear ,
I am giving the screenshot of Format grid lines option,  when I have selected Cell vertical lines , I can change Line options (Like style, width, color) from it. When I change it, it changes all three lines simultaneously. But, in that, I just want to bold only the last line of this grid.
The screenshot as follows (To denote the lines, I have put numbering under the vertical lines, where I want to bold only the third one) :
Please let me know, if  any solution to this. I m using CRVS_13.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    try to do this way..
Right click on crosstab - > crosstab expert -> customize style -> select your particular column then goto Format Grid Lines -> select your particular one based view -> ok..
I hope this not yet possible because select 1 automatically 2,3 vertical lines are selected..
See how it works......Please update ASAP

  • [SOLVED] WARNING: bad format of line 333654 of /etc/fstab

    Hi everyone,
I know that there are couple of topics concerning my problem but non of them  was helpful, because my computer doesn't even boot.
    Here's how it started:
I was trying to mount a game for the first time and something went wrong. I got message in terminal saying: the file couldn't be found in /etc/fstab so I pasted the iso image in /etc/fstab. I quit trying to mount and changed the appearance of my desktop (changed the theme, wallpaper the size of the folders etc.) and restarted the computer. When the booting started everything was normal until the message  WARNING: bad format of line 333654 of /etc/fstab showed up it started to go on and on and on - the same message with different numbers and it doesn't stop.
    What should I do?
I've tried to use my apple laptop to go to my linux Arch pc but I get the message "Host is down"
    I also have a Kubuntu 9.10 i386 cd.
I really don't want to re-install. I thought maybe there is a way to somehow get to /etc/fstab and delete the file I pasted.
    p.s
I am new in Linux and Arch linux, I am still trying things and often do something silly that I have to find a way to fix
Last edited by Encho (2011-02-27 15:01:42)

/etc/fstab exists to be a file system table. It does not and indeed should not contain the contents of an image file such as an ISO. Disk images contain filesystems themselves, so the most you would need to put in /etc/fstab to mount them at boot is a line describing where the image sits and at what place in the filesystem it should be mounted.
That message about not being able to find it in /etc/fstab appeared because you either didn't specify a mount point for the image or the specified mount point did not exist. But, first, you will need a live CD of some sort to fix your boot issue. You could use the Arch installation live CD to do it—I recommend it. Whatever you choose, you need to mount your root partition and edit <mountpoint>/etc/fstab. If you need to figure out what your root partition's name is in /dev/, type blkid. For example, on my system I would do something like this from the live cd to mount my root partition:
    # blkid
    /dev/sdb1: UUID="06f29dbd-8ce8-4d98-82ee-9e84b7d44758" TYPE="ext2"
    /dev/sdb2: UUID="3747c62b-2be0-415e-bdba-58ca44a67f6d" TYPE="swap"
    /dev/sdb3: LABEL="roothome" UUID="50f8625e-3eeb-4578-9229-e7030bd2a082" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/sda1: UUID="7CAC3BEAAC3B9D98" TYPE="ntfs" LABEL="System Reserved"
    /dev/sda2: LABEL="halite_windows" UUID="92863FB7863F9AA5" TYPE="ntfs"
    /dev/sdc1: LABEL="citrine" UUID="35987e49-a4e7-4c5f-81cb-1a4e87373ecc" TYPE="ext4"
    # mkdir /mnt/roothome
    # mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb3 /mnt/roothome
    # vim /mnt/roothome/etc/fstab # to edit the fstab
Once chrooted, edit the /etc/fstab file with your favorite console editor, e.g. vim, nano, emacs, and remove all the stuff you pasted in. It might be helpful to copy the first 20-30 lines of the file – that should be about all your fstab should need – truncate it, and then add the mounts that you copied. (Indeed, it should be possible to use sed or another utility to truncate the file after the last line of the fstab, before the data image begins.)
In the future, if you see a message about not being able to find the file in /etc/fstab, create a mountpoint for it:
    # mkdir /mnt/iso
    # mount -t iso9660 image.iso /mnt/iso/
