Formatting Flash CFCHART data

Is there a way to apply a formatting mask to a valuecolumn in
a chartseries within a Flash formatted CFCHART? The issue that I am
running into is that I am graphing on dollar amounts, and these
dollar amounts contain dollars and cents. Apart from the annoyance
of not being able to display a dollar sign in the tooltip, whenever
a dollar amount is a whole dollar (i.e. $99.73 compared to $99.00),
the decimal (cents) portion is not displayed. Using the
dollarformat() function in the cfchartseries value throws an error.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Thanks
Pete

Most of your problems can be solved by configuring the Write LabVIEW Measurement File VI differently.
Set the X Value Columns to Empty Time Column to get rid of the extra time data from you file.
If you want to continue saving to multiple files, click on the Settings... button and change the Width from 3 to 4. This will give you a lot more potential files.
If you want everything in one file, click Save to one file in the main dialog. Given the amount of data you are saving, this might not be a good idea.
Unless you really want to use text based files, given the amount of data you are generating, you may want to consider using either NI-HWS (available on the driver CD) or the new Storage VIs intr
oduced in LV 7.1.
NOTE: LabVIEW is a very feature rich language. A few minutes of searching around will generally get you the capability you want. If it doesn't, you can always roll your own. LabVIEW is a fairly decent general purpose language (please share if you do, that's what this forum is all about).

  • CFGRID and Format=flash

    We have been trying to use CFGRID with format=flash. The
    following code works on our development server but not our live
    server. Both are running Windows 2000 server, IIS 6+, CFMX7.0.1
    with hotfix 2
    On the dev server the column headings and the data all appear
    as expected but on the live webserver only the column headings
    appear and the flash grid appears but no data yet is appears to
    load the data but does not show the data.
    you can test this at
    http://www.ametsoc.org/flashtest3.cfm
    The code is
    <!--- Query the database to fill up the grid. --->
    <cfquery name="qry_states" DATASOURCE="#dbdsn#"
    USERNAME="#dbuid#" PASSWORD="#dbpwd#">
    SELECT * from States

    </cfform>

    Thanks for the response but cfdump does in fact return all
    the data. Its as if the data and grid are not binding.
    try
    http://www.ametsoc.org/flashtest3.cfm
    you will see the grid column heading no data, but the dump displays
    the data.

  • How to change dispaly format of Due Date in BPA Invoice Template (11.5.10)

    Hi,
    I've modified the Invoice Template through template management in Bill Presentment Architecture (BPA). I copied the default layout and made the format changes, added our company logo etc. The only thing that I'm unable to do is change the format of the date Content Items like Billing Date and Due Date (TERM_DUE_DATE). Does anybody know how I can do that.
    Thanks for your help
    -Asif

    Jassing,
    Thank you for the hint about preferences. I didn't think about that.
    The date formats are suppose to follow the format setup in personal preferences. But it turns out that there is a bug that just the 'Due Date' in BPA Invoice template is not following that. The other dates are displaying according to the format in preferences. So we'll be applying a patch to fix it. Hopefully that will fix it

  • Convert a date in String format to a Date

    Hi,
    How can I convert a date in String format to a Date object?
    I have tried:
    import java.text.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.util.Locale;
    import java.sql.*;
    public class casa {
    public static Connection con = null;

    public static String sql = null;
    public static String mydate = "01.01.2001";
    /** Creates a new instance of casa */
    public casa() {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws SQLException{
    try {
    DateFormat shortFormat = DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT);
    Date date = shortFormat.parse(mydate);
    //Open Database
    con = getConnection();
    s = con.createStatement();
    sql = "select date1 from table1 where date1 <= '"+date+"'";
    ResultSet rs = s.executeQuery(sql);
    while(rs.next()){
    String aba = rs.getString("datum");
    System.out.println("New Datum = "+aba);
    } catch (Exception ex ) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    closeConnection(s, con);
    //Connection
    private static Connection getConnection() {
    Connection con = null;
    String user ="aouzi";
    String passe ="aouzi";
    String url = "jdbc:db2:EjbTest";
    try {
    //Datenbanktreiber laden
    Class.forName("COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver");
    //Verbindung herstellen
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,passe);
    }catch(ClassNotFoundException e){
    } catch(SQLException e){}
    return con;
    //close Connection
    private static void closeConnection(Statement s, Connection con) {
    try {
    s.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {}
    try {
    con.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {}
    I'm getting the following errors:
    COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2Exception: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/NT] SQL0180N
    The syntax of the representation of a date/time of day value as character sequence is false. .SQLSTATE=22007

    I'm pretty sure it won't understand what date.toString() returns. If you know what format the database understands, you do it like this:
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MMM-yy"); // e.g. 18-Apr-02
    String datestring = sdf.parse(date);
    and use that instead of date in your sql string. Some databases understands it if you do
    "to_date('18-Apr-02')"
    so you could include that in your sql string as well..
    You could also try to make it a java.sql.Date and hope your jdbc driver knows how to convert it to a string that the database understands if you don't know the format:
    con = getConnection();
    PreparedStatement ps = con.prepareStatement("select date1 from table1 where date1 <= ?");
    ps.setDate(new java.sql.Date(date.getTime()));
    ResultSet rs = s.executeQuery(sql);

  • Problem Viewing Flash Exposure Data in Bridge

    Hi Folks
    When I view flash exposure data on my camera it will show me the flash compensation value I have set eg -0.7 or +2. When I download the images and view the metadata in Adobe Bridge (from CS3) I appear to lose this information. It will tell me that the flash fired or nor, but that is about it!
    Is there anything I am missing here, or is it just a limitation of Adobe Bridge.
    Any information would be gratefully received.
    Regards

    I have been looking for the same information in CS5. Although I can't find it displayed anywhere in the Camera Data you can find it if you really need to.
    Choose File Info from the File menu and then go to the Raw Data tab. Use the search function to look for "FlashCompensation". I found it there for my Canon G11.
    Painful but works if you really need it too.

  • Conditional format with large data fails and show error as "Selection is too large" in Excel 2007

    I am facing a issue in paste special operation using conditional formats for large data in Excel 2007
    I have uploaded a file at below given location.
    http://sdrv.ms/1fYC9qE
    The file contains two sheets, Sheet "Data" contains the data on which formats are to be applied and sheet "FormatTables" contains the format tables which contains conditional formating.
    There are two table in "FormatTables" sheet. Both have some conditional formats applied on it.
    Case 1:
    1. Select the table range of Table1 i.e $A$2:$AV$2
    2. Copy it
    3. Goto Sheet "Data"
    4. Select data area i.e $A$1:$AV$20664
    5. Perform a paste special operation on full range and select "Formats" option while performing paste special.
    Result:
    It throws error as "Selection is too large"
    Case 2:
    1. Select the table range of Table2 i.e $A$5:$AV$5
    2. Copy it
    3. Goto Sheet "Data"
    4. Select data area i.e $A$1:$AV$20664
    5. Perform a paste special operation on full range and select "Formats" option while performing paste special.
    Result:
    Formats get applied successfully.
    Both are the same format tables with same no of column and applied to same data range($A$1:$AV$20664) where one of the case works and another fails.
    The only diffrence is Table1 has appliesTo range($A$2:$T$2) as partial of total table range($A$2:$AV$2) whereas the Table2 has appliesTo range($A$5:$AV$5) same as of its total table range($A$5:$AV$5)
    NOTE : This issue is only in Excel 2007

    Excel 2007 No Supporting formating to take a formatting form another if source table has more then 16000 rows and if you want to do that in more then it then you have ot inset 1 more row in your format table to have 3 rows
    like: A1:AV3
    then try to copy that formating and apply
    Solution Case 1:
    1.Select the table range of Table1 i.e AV21 and drage it down to one row down
    2. Select the table range of Table1 i.e $A$2:$AV$3
    3. Copy it
    4. Goto Sheet "Data"
    5. Select data area i.e $A$1:$AV$20664
    6. Perform a paste special operation on full range and select "Formats" option while performing paste special

  • Formscentral - how do I change required date format to long date (e.g. January 2, 2014) in a form field?

    Formscentral - how do I change required date format to long date (e.g. January 2, 2014) in a form field?  I can't seem to change it from the short date format.

    Hi,
    I would suggest you to change the form language to English (UK), Here are the steps:-
    1. Open your form in FormsCentral
    2. Clik on Options tab
    3. Click on Language and Formatting and check out the selection for Form Language and make sure English (U.K.) is selected and the default date format should be day/month/year.

  • Cfform format="flash" not loading

    The Problem: When I load a file that contains ANY cfform tag
    with format="flash", all I get is a partially rendered object with
    a spinning clock for a pointer.
    Your initial reaction is probably "oh, thats just bad
    code"... but, read on.. the plot thickens...
    I have 2 domains... Domain.A is hosted out of the root of my
    folder (i.e. /hosting)... a second domain, Domain.B is hosted out
    of a subfolder of the root (i.e. /hosting/DomainB)...
    I have a stripped down page with a cfform format="flash"
    located at /hosting/DomainB called test.cfm.
    If I open a browser and go to www.domainB.com/test.cfm - the
    file will NOT compile or load all the way
    If I open another browser and go to
    www.domainA.com/domainb/test.cfom - the file loads correctly.
    Exact same file, referenced by 2 different domain paths, with
    2 different results.
    I have copied this file to various other folders in my main
    domain, and it works fine. I have also copied this file to other
    servers and it runs fine. I have created new files and placed them
    in DomainB's folder and they ALL exhibt the same problems - they
    will only compile so far and then I get a spinning clock for all
    eternity.
    I'm at a total loss on this one and would appreciate ANY
    thoughts...
    Thanks all!

    Wolvie....I sure hope you found an answer to your problem and
    if you'd post it, i'd be most appreciated.
    I have the exact same issue on cfform with flash rendering...
    incident and incident has been post with goddaddy and finally
    got someone to toss me a tidbit of info.
    since i host domains in subfolders as you do i experience the
    same works/doesnt work scenario.
    I am told the key to this solution is in the Application.cfm
    file. (not confirmed)
    Now...exactly WHAT is to be declared, i dunno.
    however, the acid test is to provide a full path to your
    failing cfm. if it works doing that. then its some sort of pointer
    to the IDE folder in issue (i am told) (again not figured out...im
    just sharing at this time)
    when i provided the full path ie:
    www.mySite.com/subfoldername/myForm.cfm the failing page rendered
    correctly. (and finally without that GD spinning clock ^^)
    so i feel i'm on the right road here.

  • Date format for parameter data entry

    I've just started working on MS SQL Server 2008 for the first time and am using Crystal XI11.5.  I have a date parameter used to pick data.  It works fine but the users are used to entering dates in mm/dd/yyyy format but this parameter forces users to enter using yyyy-mm-dd.
    Normally I am not too concerned as there is the calendar but I have a couple of keyboard users who would like to just enter in the date format they are used to.   I can't find any spot in Crystal to change the data entry format for the dates.
    I do understand that SQL Server does store dates in yyyy-mm-dd format so is this why I only have this option?  Any way to change it?  I do have dates in the report presenting in d-MMM-yyyy format without problem, it's just the date entry prompt.
    TIA rasinc

    The later versions of CR will not allow you to directly edit the SQL statement. You actually have to add a Command and remove the tables from the data source. You can, if you wish, copy the SQL from the "Show SQL Query" and paste it into the Command.
    The reason I tried to delete my previous comment is because it dawned on me (after I made the comment)  that the date picker control itself, won't accept any format other than YYYY-MM-DD.  So, while you can write the SQL to accept a variety of date formats, you won't be able use any of them while using that control.
    The CR date picker control can be found (and therefore replaced by someone w/ more guts than me) in the following locations...
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\crystalreportviewers12\prompting

  • DVT X Axis Date Formatting using tabular data

    Hi,
    I have a curious question about the <dvt:attributeFormat>.
    I wanted to format my bar graph x-axis with locale sensitive date formatting.
    I saw this attribute <dvt:attributeFormat> which I think is the best tool for the job.
    <dvt:barGraph id="wsssudg1" subType="BAR_VERT_CLUST" tabularData="#{myBean.tabularData}">
              <dvt:a t t r i b u t e F o r m a t  >
                   <af:convertDateTime locale="#{myBean.locale}"/>
              </dvt:a t t r i b u t e F o r m a t  >
    </dvt:barGraph>
    My only concern is this.  I am not using page binding in building my graph data but using tabularData property instead.
    I am passing a java.util.Date object also from my getTabularData method
    public class MyBean{
        public List getTabularData(){
            /*More code her*/
            return list;
    According to the java docs here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24382_01/apirefs.1112/e17490/tagdoc/dvt_attributeFormat.html
    The name of the categorical attribute is the name of the attribute/layer that was added to the Graph DataModel. The Graph model can be set declaratively by updating the pagedef. Here is the associated view pagedef for the above graph:
    <graph IterBinding="EmpView1Iterator" id="EmpView1"
          xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/dvt" type="BAR_VERT_CLUST">
        <graphDataMap leafOnly="true">
            <series>
              <data>
                <item value="Bonus"/>
              </data>
            </series>
            <groups>
              <item value="Hiredate"/>
            </groups>
        </graphDataMap>
    </graph
    >
    ..but since I am not using page binding then what name should I put there?
    Any DVT experts around?

    I tried different name but I cant find the correct attribute name.  Tried 'object', 'attribute 1' etc but it seems not correct.
    <dvt:barGraph id="wsssudg1" subType="BAR_VERT_CLUST" tabularData="#{myBean.tabularData}">
              <dvt:a t t r i b u t e F o r m a t  >
                   <af:convertDateTime locale="#{myBean.locale}"/>
              </dvt:a t t r i b u t e F o r m a t  >
    </dvt:barGraph>
    Does this mean that this tag only works when you are using page binding?
    If you are using tabulardata in managing your data then does it mean that you cannot use this tag?
    Then how do you format DVT graph data that uses tabularData if you do not know the attribute name?
    The javadoc tag reference does not mention anything about this.
    Anyone has experience in dealing with this scenario?
    Use case:
    How do you format date attribute in a locale sensitive manner when your graph is using custom list in the tabulardata tag property of your graph component.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    if you use the sy-datum attribute to get the date of today,
    it will be yyyymmdd, normally your attribute for the inputfield should have format datum or dats
