Formula Field incorrectly rounded when run on Enterprise Reports, OK in report

We have a report in Crystal Reports 9. There is a forumla field that has a custom formatting applied to display 2 decimal places. It works fine when opening the report and running it. However, when it's uploaded to the enterprise reports server (also version 9) and run from there, it rounds the numbers to have no decimal places. Any idea what could be going on here?

Sorry about not including Screenshots, here are a few:
- Try setting the Formviewer Zoom to page width and resizing the window, at some point the "n" from "dürfen" and the the dot at the end of the sentence should disappear:
- Shots from the full Report (here "Stundensatz" becomes "Stundens", "von" disappears completely: the second sentence is OK ) - this shows up without manipulating the zoom:

- When I export the Report ( does not matter if rpt or PDF, from the viewer or directly ) the error does not show up.
- The Problem with the "no printer" option (in my case) was it took a long time with it disabled, not enabled.

Sub report parameter prompt appears when running Visual Studio 2008 with Crystal Reports 2008

If I build a simple Crystal Report that contains another simple Crystal Sub Report, the report will print preview fine in Crystal 2008. The problem happens when add this report to a Visual Studio 2008 Web Application Project and I build and debug the application, the Crystal Viewer is prompting the user for the parameter used to link the sub report to the main report. This should never happen as the user is not supposed to see this parameter. If I type in some value for this sub-report parameter prompt, the Crystal Report Viewer gives an error message about not finding the field.
I was having the same problem in Vs2005 with Crystal 10 which is why I upgraded. Business Object's official fix for this problem was published under their KB article number c2018840 and c2019047. These hot fixes ended up causing general exception errors in Visual Studio so I scrapped these solutions.
Support had me install SP0 for Crystal 2008 (which did not fix it).
Any ideas?

According to your description, I agree with pvdg42's suggestion, so I suggest you can try pvdg42's suggestion to install the version of
Crystal Reports 10.5 to check this issue again.

Not able to clear out a formula field value when variables are equal to 0

I am trying to calculate the difference between a formula field from a main report and a formula field from a subreport. When i run the report i get a correct difference calculation only when both formula fields have a value different than 0. When both values are 0 then the difference calculation shows the last item quantity from the formula field in the subreport that had different values than 0. It looks like the difference calculation is not being clear out before jumping to the next value calculation.

try to clear the variable values once done with calculation like
whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar i:=0;

Summary on a formula field that makes a condition on a running total

Hi,
How come I can't create a summary on a formula field that makes a condition on a running total ?
My running total field is a counter that counts the number of individuals
My formula field contains this info :
IIF ( ( {#counter_running_total} <> 1)
    or ( {#counter_running_total} = 1
          and {status.code} = '04' )
    or ( {#counter_running_total} = 1
          and {status.code} in \[ 208 , 996 ])
,0,1)
When I right-click on the formula field to insert a summary, it does not allow me.
Do you have any idea I can show the information in a better way ?

The thing is, I would like to reset the counter on change of group, and put the manual running total in the group footer.
Is there a formula I could use to reset the counter ?
When I write in the group header :
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar i=0;
it does not reset the i to zero, instead, it writes "false" and continues to increment in the footer.
do you have an idea ?

Running Total - How to summarize a formula field?

I'm sorry if this comes over as stupid but I have got myself quite messed up and am not 100% au fait with Crystal Reporting.
The aim of my report is to calculate the costs of selected tests and to calculate a grand total of all tests at the end.
I have created a group of jobtests.TestTypeName
Details
1. testTypeName - to show Test Name that is being calcutaed - Database field
2. Count ({jobTests.testTypeName}, {jobTests.testTypeName}) - to show number of tests of that type - this is a formula field
3. Analysis1 - to show the cost of that test type - Database field
4. {@CountTests/TestType} * {jobTests.AnalysisN1} - to show the number of tests per test type mulitplied by the cost of that test type - this is a formula field
Report footer
Count ({jobTests.testTypeName}) - to count the total number of tests
MY PROBLEM - I need to see the sum of 4, this would be my grand total
Trying to run the Running Total I can't get it to Summarize the field 4 because it is a formula field.
What can I do?

You can't do a SUM on a formula that uses another aggregate function. However, for both 4 and your grand total, you just need to SUM() (with ",{jobTests.testTypeName}" for the #4 calc), as the database field will be the cost for each test in each record.

Is your formula attached to basic salary element or some other element? You need to make sure that basic salary element has some value and is processed before this formula is called. Are you able to see value for basic salary element after payroll run?

The WebSession() works for a detail page, but nor a list page in EP.

Running BDC in 'A' mode when called from Enterprise portal

HI All,
I have created a RFC which contains a BDC program that update data in SAP R/3. The RFC is called from Enterprise portal. Is it possible to run the rfc in A(all screen display) mode while calling from EP. I have tried it but it gives following 2 errors on EP

rfc_error_communication
what changes i have to do so that i can run the BDC in 'A ' mode when called from Enterprise portal

it would not be related to EP administration issues but something to do with GUI usage. it is loggically fare enough not to give options of viewing the debug screen in as it might concern security issues inway the data could be edited at any point of time. Moreover the screens u see in R3 are ABAP but whereas in EP it is purely based on Java and the calls to SAP is done via JCO thus enabling ABAP functionalities in EP. Maybe for these technical reasons or constraints it wont be possibel to view the screen in EP eventhough u had ext.bp activated

Error when embedding a formula field in a text box in a subreport

I am rewriting an application that merges data from a .net application into a Crystal Report template and displays it in the application. In VS2003, I have had no problems with the reports as they are written. In VS2010, I get an unusual error on some reports with subreports.
In one report I have multiple subreports. In those subreports, I have formula fields. If I take one of those formula fields and embed it into a Text Box and attempt to generate the report through the application, I get the following error:

If I take the very same field out of the text box and put it directly on the report, the report will generate without error.
In the case above, OPTIONSTRIKETIME is a string field. This rules out any conversion errors from a date/number/etc to string for the text box.
Has anyone else encountered this error? If so, what can be done to avoid it?

Trying to bottom align a formula field column header

Hello, I am using CR 2008 and Edge 3.1. I have 5 formula column headers that are designed to hold four lines of text with 10 characters per line with the font that we have chosen. The text for each column heading comes from a parameter field. I am trying to bottom align the text and it works in CR 2008 but when I load the report into the Enterprise and run it I do not get the same results. Here is my code for the Column 1 Header:

I have the same formula for all 5 columns except the other 4 are reading their respective column prompt, ie: {?Col2 Header} for column 2. I changed the number of returns for testing purposes in columns 2, 3 and 4 to step up what was printed in each column. So I put the same thing in each column header: Qtr 4 2009. When I print in CR 2008 column 1 prints in the desired location, at the bottom of the formula field, the fourth line. I changed the code in column 2 by taking away one of the carriage returns from the Else part of the code and the text prints on the third line as it should. In column three I took away another carriage return from the Else part and the text prints on line two and with no carriage returns in the Else part of the code in column 4 the text prints at the top of the field. Exactly what I want.
What happens when I save the report in the Enterprise and run it is that columns 2, 3 and 4 have the desired results but there is nothing in column header 1. I have absolutely no idea of how to fix this because it runs as desired locally.
Does anybody have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The report is being created from a VS .NET 2005 program that scedules the report to run immediately. I just use Infoview to look at the report after it has finished running. Here is the part of the VS code that tells it how to print:

I went into InfoView though and looked at how you did it above. When I go to Format->Format Options I do not have an "Adobe Acrobat" option. I have twelve options, one of which is "PDF".
Under Print Settings I could not find a "None" option anywhere no matter which of the radio buttons, checkboxes or listboxes that I chose.
Do I need to add Adobe Acrobat/Adobe PDF as a printer option in Edge somewhere or is my only option always going to be "PDF"?

Chart Expert - Why are some formula fields not available?

I have a report where I had to do Running Totals with formulas. Following what I learned long ago from the documentation, I laid in my formulas, and then setup some "Display" formulas to print out the results at the end of my report.
Now I am adding a chart to show a sort of 'summarized' version of the report - its a simple Pie chart...
But when I go into the Chart Expert and want to select those Display formula fields (there are 4 of them) - they do not appear in the list?
FYI - These four Display formulas are in the Report Footer of the report, and my chart is in the Report Header.
Why do some of my formula fields appear in the Chart Expert "select field" list - while others do not?
I checked the documentation on this, but it is very "lite" and does not indicate why this might be...
Any help is most appreciated!

Read again - "Problem has been circumvented" NOT "worked around". In other words, when you pay a fortune for a poorly documented piece of software and you are dependent on answers from a Forum, where at times no one answers your question(s) and your boss is shouting at you as to how you selected such a lousy piece of software with such "lite" documentation and is hardly going to pay any more money for a support call to answer a simple question that should have been covered (and then some) in the documentation, (let alone support of the problem) - you CIRCUMVENT, i.e. give up and find some other way to do what you were trying to do.
Hence, problem circumvented, NOT worked around.

Why do I only have the option to summarise some of my formula fields?

I'm trying to create a running total but when I look for the formula filed that I want to summarise, it's not there. There are some other formula fields that it tells me that I can summarise but not the one that I want. Any ideas?

There are are certain functions that can only be executed during the "WhilePrintingRecords" pass of the report execution. Any formula that uses one of these functions cannot be summarized.
Also any formula that is is based on aggregated values cannot be summarized.
