Formula/KPI Documentation Question

Hi,  I have a report where I am reporting on a KPI that is an average number of events occuring within a specific month.  This average is calculated off of a number of other smaller calculations.  I would like to document this KPI and allow the user to see the business definition of it.  All of my formulas are local and I don't see a place to attach documenation to the formula.  How can I do this or should I take a different approach?
Thanks!

  • BW Authorization Error documentation Question

    Hi,
    I have a question, may be you can help in this:
    Q: In BW Analyzer if we get the following authorization error for some reason:
    ->Authorization Check
    You do not have authorization for Add or Create
    There is a Details tab to see the authorization error details. I need to add documentation for the naming conventions the Users need to use so that it's easy for Users to see what is the reason for the error and what naming convention do they need to use to prevent the error.
    Right now, details tab shows "No Documentation Available". How can I add documentation here? Where do I add this documentation and how do I link it to the Authorization Error Message's Details tab?
    I tried running RSRTRACE to see which function modules/programs get called but that does not help. It gives me the following two function modules which are being called when I get the error message and when I click the details tab:
    RZX0_MESSAGES_GET
    RZX0_MESSAGE_H_GET
    and surprisingly when I try to look them up in SE37 they do not exist … What can be the reason for this?
    Is there a system transaction, like .. SM02, in BW where we can define or create authorization error message documentation for BEx Analyzer? How do I link it to the Authorization Error message?
    Your help or advise will be very much appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Regards,
    Mandeep Virk

    It can be done via SE91.
    Message Class is R9 and message number is 108
    We have to define the Long Text and save it under the RSZ class.
    It works for me now.

  • Documentation question...

    Hi all,
    While attending a class in Newtown an instructor suggested there is documentation available for SAP authored function modules. So, my question is this...I'm using function module md_mrp_list_api and I'm interested in reading some documentation...where or from who would I request such a thing if it actually existed?
    thanks,
    Mat

    Hi,
    Not all Function modules will have the Documentation.
    SAP Generally provides documentation for those function modules which are meant for Generic services.
    Function modules which have some Functional significane may or may not have the documentation.
    You can check for function module documention in Tcode Se37.

  • Migration Documentation question

    Hi,
    We are trying to follow the "How To Migrate from SAP Enterprise Portal 5.0 SP6 to SAP NetWeaver '04" documentation, but have questions and open OSS messages.
    Does anyone have a set of documentation and or notes that can be followed to a completion of the migration?  Any additional notes that may not be in the documentation or at least clear in the documentation?
    Open questions:
    1.  Question on connectivity to the EP5 system from NW04 for migration;  In the above mentioned documentation on page 42 in the section 3.2.8 "Defining and Configuring a System for EP5" number 4, it asks for an EP50 Server Port. Is this the default port 80 or is there a way to determine which port to use for this entry?
    2.  Page not displayed on service configuration;  We have our NW04 SP14 Portal build working with Windows Integrated Authentication and our corporate LDAP for Single Sign On with our network ID's. When we login
    to the Portal with our network id, we get "Page cannot be displayed" when navigating to System Administration-> System Configuration-> Service Configuration to add the migration key. If we login as Administrator, we can see the Service Configuration page and drill down
    to applications - >UpgraderService.
    Why does this page not render with our network id's as our network id's have the same roles as Administrator?
    Any thoughts on the above questions and any help with better documentation will be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Rick

    Thanks, I appreciate your input!

    For something like...

            Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);
            System.out.println("PLEASE USE NUMBERS ONLY!!");
            System.out.print("Enter the first digit: ");

    Do I have to put anything for the @ part? Like @param or something like that?

  • 10.1.0.4 upgrade documentation question

    Hi:
    In the accompanying documentation (section 5.1.7) it says, "If any database uses Java Virtual Machine or Oracle interMedia, then install the Oracle Database 10g Products installation type from the ... Companion CD before installing the 10.1.0.4 patch".
    What does that mean? What is the "installation type"? I assume since I already have the interMedia stuff running on a 10.x.x. database I have already loaded whatever I need from the companion CD. Is this saying to do any upgrades from the 10.1.0.4 companion CD section before applying the database patches or what?
    Thanks.
    MJG

    Here's what I did. (Windows XP server)
    * Installed Oracle 10.1.0.2
    * Installed 10.1.0.2. Companion CD
    * Installed "10g Products" from the 10.1.0.2 companion CD
    * Installed 10.1.0.4 DB patch
    * Installed 10.1.0.4 Companion CD patch.
    Now I am in the "post processing" phase, trying to do a
    STARTUP UPGRADE
    but I get an error "SP2-0714: invalid combination of STARTUP options"
    Does anyone know what's behind this? Did I need to run the catpatch.sql before installing the companion CD parts of the 10.1.0.4 patch?

  • OPatch documentation question

    Hey everyone,
    I was hoping that someone could provide an answer to my question. When you are reading an OPatch file, what does this following line specify?
    Interim patches (3) :
    Patch 99***11 : applied on Sat Mar 03 10:12:00 PST 2012

  • Included documentation question

    I recently purchased an iPad Air 2 and am wondering what documentation is supposed to be included.  There is one piece of documentation entirely in Spanish and there is no English counterpart included.
    What I received:
    Three iPad Air cards - English, French, Spanish
    Three iPad info sheets - English, French, Spanish
    A booklet entirely in Spanish - no English?
    Regulatory compliance document - appears to be only for Mexico.
    Apple stickers.
    Yes, I'm very anal about this.

    There is not any. The Key Code is embedded in the BIOS. If you install Windows 8.1 from an OEM disk it will self-activate based on the BIOS. If you want to see the Code and have it physically available the current version of Magical Jelly Bean will extract the Key Code from Windows 8.1:

  • Question offsets - need to determine how to reference in formulas

    I am using Crystal XI with a sequel database and have been unable to determine how to reference question offsets in a formula.
    Example:  Question 100 in the table is Appraisal Fee.  However, question 100 has several offsets.  Offset .01 is Appraisal Cost, Offset .02 is seller paid amount, Offset .03 is lender paid costs, etc.
    The sequel database table contains question 100, but not entries for any off the offsets.
    I need to reference the offsets in a Crystal Formula.  Should I be able to do that without having the table updated to include entries for each offset?  If so, helping me understand how would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Diann,
    Sounds like you need a big, ugly Case statement. If I'm understanding correctly, essentially you are trying to create a column with the offset label in it. The only way I can think of to do this is something like:
    Create  formula field called Offset, then define the formula simlar to below:
    select
    Case "Appraisal Cost" : "01"
    Case "Seller Paid Amount"  :  "02"
    Case "Lender Paid Costs"  : "03"
    Default  :  "99";
    You could then use the Offset formul field as either a group in your report, or at least as a sort order for the records. You could also use it in other formulae.
    Hope that helps!

  • SCORE HISTORY in Scorecard ( KPI Details ), need explaination!

    Details:
    In Scorecard > KPI Details > Score History:
    In the Score History there are there latest month comparisons include the current standing month.
    Questions:
    1. How the TREND of this three month get compare to each others?
    2. Why the left two months TREND indicator always show DOWN while the current month TREND show correct?
    Thanks if any answers,

    Hello,
    I will try and answer the questions that you have.
    1. What you are calling the trend indicators are actually the gap performance trend indicators.  They don't directly compare to each other, but reflect the three month trend of the gap performance number as calculated in the KPIxxx_trddev measure in the model.  The standard formula that we use is a moving average of the KPIxxx_tardev mesaure, which is calculated over three months.  This value is then compared to the Trend Down and Trend Up values specified for the KPI in question.  So the three gap performance trend indicators show the trend of the gap performance in the last three periods.
    2. The left two values of the gap performance indicator should not always show down, although there was a problem in this area in some of the older versions of the software.  I believe that this was addressed somewhere around SM 7.0 SP3 or SP4.  Either way, if you upgrade to the most recent support package for the version that you are running, the problem should be resolved.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Documenting Type Libraries?

    Hi All,
    This is somewhat off topic, as it has less to do with RH than
    it does with a more generic documentation question. Our software
    has it's own API that we allow users to use to create their own VB
    scripts.
    The various supported objects, methods, properties, events
    and so forth are contained in a type library (a .tlb file). Over
    the past several years, I've been maintaining HTML Help
    documentation for all this information by hand. I would like to
    automate the conversion of the .tlb file into .htm files.
    Does anyone else convert .tlb files into .htm documentation
    and then into RH? What tools do you use to accomplish this?
    Processes to get the output to work within RH?
    I've been looking on the web and have found some software
    utilities/packages out there that support the conversion of the
    .tlb file into .htm files. I was hoping there would be something
    freeware or low relatively low cost (under $100) that is stable and
    has a good feature set.
    I've mainly toyed around with a freeware utility called
    DocLibTool,
    which isn't bad (being freeware) for what you get, but it has some
    bugs, isn't supported, and it's difficult to customize the final
    output. I'm also looking into a high cost commercial package called
    Document!
    X, but would really like to find something less expensive.
    Any suggestions? Ideas?

    Hi Spoli,
    At the current time the only adapter that gives you the option to
    automatically create a container for a given parameter is the LabVIEW
    adapter. In your case you will need to manually create the container
    that matches your C struct. I apologize for the inconvenience.
    One thing you can do to see this feature in future versions is make a Product Suggestion on our website. Our R&D engineers are always looking for good feedback.
    Have a good one Spoli,

  • Javax.jwsWebMethod documentation on WSDL - how?

    Hi experts,
    On WebLogic 8.1, we put our Web Service documentation in the javadocs of the JWS files. That's very handy since the generated WSDL contains the documentation about the operations. So anyone that imports the WSDL is able to read the generated documentation. We do someting like:
         * This service does this and that and that. Detailed description that lives with the code.
         * @common:operation
         public void doTheThing(ThingInDocument inDoc) {
         delegate.doItInTheRoad(inDoc);
    And the generated WSDL contains something like:
    <s0:operation name="doTheThing">
    <s0:documentation>
    This service does this and that and that. Detailed description that lives with the code.
    </s0:documentation>
    Question: I'm not being able to do this in Weblogic 10.3. I put the javadoc next to the @WebMethod annotation, but nothing was generated in the WSDL.
    Is there a way to do this or customize the WSDL generation?
    Thank you!

    Hi Massimo,
    Quiet a few points here.
    1. Oracle Type objects do not map to XML Complex type
    2. Oracle Type objects do not map to Apex Page Item Types
    3. Apex Page Item types are substituted into the WS Request XML by a process which is part of the Web Service Reference creation through the Wizard in Apex.
    >
    After created the web service (without any errors), I click on test.
    - I can select the Operation --> CREATE_LINGUA
    - I can input data for Basic Authentication
    - I can't view Input Parameters --> Report returned no rows.
    I've tried with normal type like Varchar2 and all was ok.
    Is possible in Apex to use web services based on complex type, tipically an Array?
    >
    As you have guessed the Wizard driven Web Service Reference definition process cannot handle complex types of input parameters required by a Request. By definition the number of complex types possible are infinite, so they are not likely to come built in.
    Passing an array is no solution because finally the values passed have to be plugged into the right SimpleTypes inside a ComplexType in the Request.
    Based on your WSDL your Request will be
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:cre="http://xmlns.oracle.com/orawsv/GRIMALDI/PKG_WEBSERVICES/CREATE_LINGUA">
       <soapenv:Header/>
       <soapenv:Body>
          <cre:SNUMBER-CREATE_LINGUAInput>
             <cre:PLINGUA-LINGUAT-CIN>
                <cre:LINGUAT>
                   <cre:CODICE>?</cre:CODICE>
                   <cre:DESCRIZIONE>?</cre:DESCRIZIONE>
                </cre:LINGUAT>
             </cre:PLINGUA-LINGUAT-CIN>
          </cre:SNUMBER-CREATE_LINGUAInput>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>However, all is not lost. You can always use the UTL_HTTP package API to construct your Request.

  • ASAP Question & Answer  Database

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone provide inputs on accessing ASAP Q&A database???
    Where to check it??
    Please help..
    Regards,

    hi,
    Question & Answer database
    Purpose
    The Question & Answer database (Q&Adb), through which you navigate using the, SAP Reference Structure, is the key tool you use to define your business requirements when implementing your SAP System.
    You can use it to set your project scope in a process-specific manner and to draw up your Business Blueprint. As well as the standard Q&Adb, industry-specific versions (for the consumer products and automotive industry) and for Global ASAP are available.
    Features
    Items in the SAP Reference Structure are assigned elements that are stored under the tabs Business Analysis, Information and Technical Analysis on the right of the screen. Here you will find:
    Information such as SAP documentation, transactions, information on input and output, and organizational units
    Business-specific information, such as project documentation, Questions, CI templates, and technical data (for example, on conversions and interfaces)
    The substructures of the SAP Reference Structure are organized according to specific topics or according to enterprise areas, helping you to map your enterpriseu2019s requirements to the SAP System.
    You can assign IMG activities to structure items, allowing you to automatically generate a Project IMG for the enterprise areas that have been set in scope.
    The Project IMG serves as a basis for the ASAP - IMG link, which makes it easier for you to make configuration settings. From the BPML, you can go directly to the IMG activities that are relevant for a particular structure item that has been set in scope.
    In an industry-specific implementation project, you use value chains to generate your Business Blueprint. Value chains describe all key processes for a specific industry, across all enterprise areas. In an industry-specific Q&Adb, these value chains are located in the Business Processes substructure within the standard SAP Reference Structure.
    The Q&Adb contains a flexible reporting system, allowing you to generate Business Overview reports, Business Blueprint reports, and master lists (for example, Business Process Master List), Organizational Structure Lists, Development Lists, Authorization Lists).
    The Issues Database is also part of the Q&Adb. Here you can gather open issues that occur during your implementation project.
    You can assign owners to structure items, and may edit or model them as required. For more information see SAP Reference Structure.
    thanks and regards
