FP 10 debugging version crashes Browsers
Any time I am playing video on youtube it crashes my Browsers
with win32 exception error. Any Browser is the same.
Regular player seems to work fine. I am running Windows 2003
Server. Any idea why that is happening?

so please check the default process identity of ASP.NET
1. Open IIS manager.
2. Expand the “Application Pools” .
3. Right click the coresponding application pool, and then
select “Properties”.
4. Click the “Identity” tab, and select the
“Local System” identity in the “Predefined”
dropdown list.

Latest debug version crashing in Firefox a lot
Hello,
The last debug version gave me no problems in Firefox. But the current debug version crashes if I start tracing through code randomly.
I'm not sure if this is Flash debug or Firefox update.
Anyone else experiencing this?

I still crash in Firefox when I hit(not sure the name for this), one of those windows that says dismiss all.
I had back to back crashes in something that in FB 4.0, I could just click dismiss all. -
InDesign CS4 Server (Debug version) crashing for XMLCreateElementCmd
Hi All,
I am trying to create an empty tag element in a document using CreateElement method of IXMLElementCommands.
Utils<IXMLElementCommands>()->CreateElement(wTagName,kInvalidUID,parentRef,childCnt,&tagXM LRef,kFalse);
where wTagName is th widestring containing the Tag name,parentref is tha parent reference,childCnt is the index in parent.
The server crashes at this point in debug build saying
XMLCreateElementCmd::SetUpTarget: nil DB
Command::SetTarget(): nil db pointer.
Any ideas what could be the reason or where am I going wrong.

Jasmine ShaikhparentRef is the XMLReference of the root element of the document. And I am able to create an empty element properly under the <Root> element by this code in the Release build. But the server crashes while shutting down that's why tried building the plugin in the debug version.
Anyways. The problem has been resolved (Server not crashing at this point but somewhere else now . Will have to look into it ).
I added another boolean parameter(doVerify) for debug build. The create element statement looks like this now.

Is it possible to determine the exact line number in the processCommand function that is crashing? What does the + 4297 mean?I wouldn't say it's "useless"; you get a basic stack trace from users and probably a description of what they were doing at the time. Using that information, you can replicate the crash with a debug build, resulting in a filename and a line number. Also, it may be a good idea to make a debug version available to your users for QA or beta testing, which would also give you that information.

Can't install debug version of flash player
I have the Design Premium CS5 suite installed on the laptop I am using, which I have rented from my uni as my own was unstable.
I have got admin rights, and I installed Flash Builder 4.
When I tried to debug code, I got the following error [IMG]http://i52.tinypic.com/hu3w3r.png[/IMG].
So I followed the link on the error message and downloaded from [url]http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html[/url]. I downloaded the Windows Flash Player 10.3 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE) (EXE, 3.22MB)
Even after running it, the debug won't work and I can't view the image the sample code is supposed to display. Is there a better version?
I'm running a laptop with Vista. I saw someone had success with installing safari and chrome during my searches for a solution. I usually run firefox. I have installed both safari and chrome, but don't see how this can help me yet.
I found the following solution on this site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/831/cpsid_83106.html, but I can't find the INSTALL_DIRECTORY on this laptop. The CS5 is installed as follows: [IMG]http://i52.tinypic.com/1zcl1g2.jpg[/IMG]. If I right click on Flash, I can't see how to select a player or to even see which player it is set for.
I also found a page on this site which checks what version of flash you have, and I have 10,3,181,34 with no debug. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a debug version with no success.
I am new to developing as it is for a project. I'm creating an Augmented Reality app to display on my website, with a downloadable marker. Is there a way to continue with developing but not using the debug function?

You can proceed without debug by just double clicking the html file in bin-debug.

Flash Builder 4.6 differences between debug version and apk release version
I've been struggling for several days now. I have a simple swf file that just says 'hello world' on a green background. It is written in Flash 8 actionscript 2. I've used the Flash Builder actionscript mobile project and flex mobile project in both cases and I can get it to download and display quite happily in the debug version on the desktop emulator and on my ASUS eee Pad Transformer Prime using a USB cable . Thinking that all is ok I then 'export the release build' and the result is a blank white screen on my tablet.
I then did a simple Flex Project as per an adobe 'my first app' tutorial (hellow world!/Success!) and exported the release build with the same certificate I used before and it worked fine.
So after all that my question is - what could be the reason that my tablet is quite able to run a debug version of my embedded swf file but not the apk release version of it?
Any ideas?

I have a graphing application that ran fine until later versions of Browsers and Flash Player.
It still runs in IE 7.0, although I had to install FP 10.
Are there lines of code I need to get it to run in Firefox and Safari? Both tell me to install Version 10 of FP, but it is installed. Won't run in Vista or Mac in Firefox.

Debug version & Release version on same machine?
Hi all
I'm new to sdk. I've few questions..
I've indesign cs3 realease version in my system. Now I need to install indesign cs3 debug version in the same. Will it make any problem??
or can I install it in different user in the same?
will the debug version have all features that release version has? For example, if I develope a script with debug version will it work on realease version and viceversa?

THAMILOnce again I'm using CS4, not sure if CS3 writes user prefs in the same fashion.
Is your concern with user saved preferences?
I'm assumming that the location you referenced is where user preferences will be written for Indesign on a Windows machine. Since user preferences are comprised of things like color settings, font info, scripts, workspace setting etc. As you change any user stored setting via the release or debug builds both apps will write to the same prefs files. So any changes you make to prefs in the Debug version should be honored when the release version is next launched.
There are settings specific to the debug build for tracing and so forth, but I beleive those are limited to the current session and are not saved across sessions.
If your concerned about registration data, that info (on a Mac) is stored in the same Adobe Registration database file but each Adobe app/version has a separate entry.

Help debugging JVM crash on linux
Does anybody have any tips on debugging JVM crashes?
I have a third-party shared library that I link in and use through JNI bindings.
When I use this third party application with the 1.6.0 JVM on red hat enterprise linux, it causes the JVM to unpredictably SEGV.
I'm stumped, I don't know how to debug this since I don't have source code for either the third-party app or for the JVM.
Even some thoughts about what might cause the JVM to do this would be great. I've looked in depth at signals and signal handling but didn't find anything wrong there.

Since you said you use JNI, did you try to use the -Xcheck:jni parameter? It will perform some extra consistency checks when calling JNI, at the expense of maybe some loss in JNI performance. This might catch any problems that might occur at the JNI level. Of course, if the third-party library has bugs and corrupts the VM heap, there's no much we can do.

AIR 3.7 - Debug version not working on test device
Hi there,
yesterday we updated the AIR version to 3.7.
If the app isn't connected to the PC , the debug version of the app won't start on the test device (Samsung Galaxy SII).
Is this intended?

omiThanks for the reply. Basically, because of a bug it's showing up a black screen instead of the dialog. If you want to launch the debug app and you're not doing debugging, then please use the following workarounds.
1. Select wifi debugging option (when packaging from Flash Builder, even if you don’t have a wifi, because anyway you don’t want to debug it, you just want to install/launch it on the device)
2. Export a Release APK from Flash Builder.
and if you're on command line.
1. Package apk/apk-captive-runtime
2. Package apk-debug without –listen switch

I have already went to the link the dialog box provided to download the debug versions of the Flash Player. I have installed both the Plugin and AX versions of the debugger. Restarted all browers, Flash Builder and rebooted the PC for good measure. I have spent a good amount of time looking for information on this issue. All the threads that I found that were related to this issue didn't have a workable soution so far. Hence I'm starting a thread on this problem.
I'm running Flash Builder 4.5 on Windows Vista 32-bit. I have tried using both FireFox 3.6.24 and IE 8.0.6001.
I started with the Trial version then purchased the license online. I don't know if that has any bearing.

Try to uninstall Flash Player with this Adobe uninstaller, please ensure you close all application which might be using Flash Player. Then try to install your Flash Player debugger again. It solved for me. -

Both Flex Builder and the SDK include the debug version of
the standalone flash 9 player. How to I get the release (non-debug)
version of the standalone player for Windows? Does it exist?
I see a place to download the release version of the
standalone player for OSX but not for Windows.
