recently i have update my nokia 5800 frimware 50.0.005.
after update this i have problem to connecting fring via wifi.
error : (connection could not be establish.)
earlier fring is working fine in frimware 31.0.008
kindly give me the suggection for this

I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Fring.

i have a nokia 5800 xpress music mobile phone.
recently, i've been facing an error while trying to change my ringtone from the profiles
when i tap on the screen on the ringing tone tab in general profile (or any other profile), an pop-up tells me the following "not enough memory to display all ringing tones, only read-only memory tones will be displayed"
then, when i tap again , the ringing tones menu open but for sure not listing all of my music files !!
i thought it's a firmware problem, i updated my 5800 to the latest v30 firmware, but the problem still persists.

take out your memory card and consider the first two options. make sure you have a back up and read carefully
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.

Firmware not updating for nokia 5800

I got my phone from chicago flagship, they said it's a Euro VErsion of nokia 5800
when I go to device updates, it says no update available, although version 11 is out.
when I do it from the PC suite, it says that your network provider has not approved the
update, no update availabe.
I'm using T-mobile US.
Anyone have a clue on how I can update my phone, I get the usual 5800 firmware 10 bugs, like
unable to edit and add birthdays on contacts, alarms not working.
I really like to have it updated.

that is strange because euro codes usually are one of the first ones to get the firmware updates. you can serach your product code via google and find out if it is indeed a euro version of the code. this is an unlocked/unbranded unit right? you should have no issues in regards to provider in that case. does nokia flagship chicago have a service departmetn as well? you can always take it to them and request that they do the update for you. still this should not be the case if you have an unlocked/unbranded euro version of the device.

BSNL 3G not working in nokia 5800 US version

i bought a nokia 5800 US version unlocked mobile handset 10 months back. now i am using indian BSNL 3G SIM in india. my mobile handset is not detecting the bsnl 3G signal. from bsnl people i understood that their technology is 3.5G HSDPA 2100. according to gsmarena the US version supports "HSDPA 850 / 1900". is there a way to make it work with the bsnl 3G network?
voice calls, SMS and web browsing working.
Video calls, MMS, TV, etc... not working.
my mobile set has firmware version 21.2.025 date: 18-04-2009

Usb car charger not fully charge Nokia 5800

I have a usb car charger with a cable that has a usb plug on one end, and on the other end
there is a nokia 2.0mm charger plug.

on the charger itself it's written "DC 5V +- 5% Max= 1000mA"

Voltage of the charger needs to be about 5.5 V to fully charge it. There are some car usb chargers which give 5.5 V some which give only 5 V. You need to check them and see if they work properly with your nokia.

COULD NOT CONNECT TO NOKIA STORE

Hi All,
when I try to connect to Nokia store via my mobile phone Nokia C7-00 it says first Nokia Store Update Required (versiob 3.30.018-21.1 MB)
I download it couple of times and once it try to install it says update error...
So I was trying to up date it via my lap top(windows 7)
whene I try to connect thru Nokia Suite it says could not connect to server
I did check all my fire wall setting no success...

If you need to complain directly to nokia you need to write a good old fashioned letter to the nokia office in your country. As an example I know people in the UK who have had good return communication and good end results after doing this. I believe it's a legal requirement that all written complaints have to be replied to in the UK, but not totally sure.
You can get the address by contacting nokia care by telephone and asking them for the complaints address.
Be aware though that nokia will never directly supply you with spare parts that are not designed to be changed by the end user. It is totally against their policy, just like many other manufacturers.
The only sources of parts to the end user are online stores or ebay but fitting is always at your own risk and cannot be discussed here. Some totally independent (not chains like CPW) care points may also supply parts, at their discretion.

W510 not compatible with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic headset (earpiece)?

Have anyone came across this problem? I have 2 of those headset and I tried both in my W510. When I played any music source, the sound is so diffused like as if it works like a surround speaker that only produce presence sound. To get the vocal, I have to shift the Balance to the extreme left or right. First time encounter such problems. However, other headset work fine with my W510.

did you update your phone to the latest firmware for your phone currently it is v30......but it just got released so it may not be avaliable for all product codes just yet. also is your phone unbranded./unlocked if that is the case then you have a better change of updating than with a provider.

Could not connect with nokia pc suite

I have one nokia 2690 and in its connectivity option is given nokia pc suite. I installed nokia pc suite 7.1 on pc. But when i tried to connect my phone with usb cable a message from the bottom right corner of the taskbar of pc pops up and says "usb device not recognised" and also "click this balloon to fix this problem". When I clicked on the balloon it opened a window in the first tab of which my usb posts were listed- one was showing HID COMPLIANT MOUSE and the other in which i had connected the phone was showing UNKNOWN DEVICE. The other tab was of DRIVER and it shows No drivers are installed for this device. But I know that windows and nokia pc suite automatically install required drivers. I disconnected cable from my phone and also switched the usb ports but again the same message appeared. I also uninstalled each and everything that nokia pc suite installed on my pc and also the nokia pc suite itself and again reinstalled pc suite but of no help.What would you suggest- is my cable not compatible with my phone(i borrowed it from my friend but it connect to my phone perfectly) or the cable is damaged or nokia pc suite version 7.1 not compatible with nokia 2690 or anything else? Full screen caller image not coming in nokia 5800

Hi,
Previously i was getting full screen caller image in my nokia 5800 but from last week i am getting thumbnail size small image during the call. Please let me know how to fix this.

This happens if you change the location/remove of the picture on the phone used as the caller image, since the phone just links the contact files to the picture files. Moving the picture breaks this association. You could also use Ovi Suite to embed the picture into the contact file so as to have no problems like this in the future.

i wanted to connect my phone to pc but pc os window 7 ultimate is not detecting my phone but when i put usb in my phone its show pc suit etc but not in pc . I have already uninstall my pc suit and then remove it completly by pc suit cleaner

Please provide us the exact error message. We suggest rebooting the phone and the PC. You may also uninstall and re-install Nokia PC Suite on your PC.

Nokia 5800 - USB cable connection - Frequent "Conn...

When I connect my Nokia 5800 to PC with USB cable and try to send/recieve any data to/from it, the connection fails after 5-10s. All software form Nokia is affected. The latest PC Suite , Ovi Suite, drivers etc. are installed. With Bluetooth connection everithing is more or less OK but from time to time the phone asks for confirmarion to allow access from PC (despite the connection is already established). Looks like the problem with Connectivity Cable Driver (7.0.2.1) ...

kind of same problem here. I installed the PC Suite from the web. When I want to save my data (contacts, sms, settings) via Content Copier it stops after the contacts and I get a message "connection lost".
On the other hand if I use it as a mass storage I can transfer as long as I want.
SW-Version is: V 11.0.008
Special-Version:11.0.008.243.02
I wanted to upgrade the firmware but not before saving everything ... but that's not working.
Also software like the Communication Center do not update the data. I'm missing calender entrys, contacts cannot be manage, etc. The software tells me connection is established but well not 100%.

Nokia 5800 - Unable to connect WLAN

Im trying to connect my Nokia 5800 to my network at home via the WLAN. I'm using a netgear DG834PN with Security Option WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key). I have already disabled the security code once but i got the same error message. Any tips?

Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia 5800 crashing after fw u...

When I start my Nokia Ovi Suite (V. 2.2.0.245) it works as usual, I can brows around my content without any problems. As soon as I connect my Nokia 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006) it crashes. Worked just fine before I upgraded to the latest version on the phone.

Uninstall Ovi and re-download from Nokia web. Reinstalled Ovi Suite but that didn't work.
I then uninstalled all Ovi and all Nokia related software, cleaned Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite: Failed to fix.
Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize.

Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize with Nokia PC Suite.
Made a complete backup on my phone.
Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
It now works again????
Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.

Tsup guys, I`m having this new release of nokia s60 5th edition (Nokia 5800 Express Music) but since I bought it last month I`ve started discover some features are not working as I always used to see them to my previous handset (Nokia n73-1). At my previous nokia n73 when I`m on playing music that I`ve store in my handset and then the I receive the sms message its only makes a light beep sound even if I`m on profile that setted another alter tune for sms but in this nokia 5800 when sms comes in the middle of track playback its pause for a time from plyaing the song then start ring the current profile`s sms alter tune then keep on playing the track. On the side of adding sms recipients, if your forwading an sms to more than one person then you`ve started adding recipients by either searching or scrolling you might face some of the contacts doesn`t appear in your list after adding some others even if you do it by search contacts for typing the first alphabets of the recipients you are searching. So in order to get them you`ve to select OK then select the ADD RECIPIENTS again then you will find the contacts that were not seen before. Lastly, on the message writing. When I use the HANDWRITING style, I can write my things well but still up to know I`ve not yet find the area where I can erase the words that I`ve wrotes. Instead I`m supposed to change the keyboard type so as I can get the erease key. Can anybody help me to locate where can I find the erease key when I`m in mode of HANDWRITING style that uses a given special touch-screen pencil. I`m using it which means I`II keep discover many more things that seems these nokia have lack in this model & if there is anybody else found something please don`t hesitate to contribute here too.
