Frozen on the apple

I've not had any major problems with my 30g photo over the past 5 months, but am all of a sudden having some major issues. First, I plugged in my ipod yesterday to transfer some songs over, but itunes popped up with a must restore message, which is a problem because I don't have all of my music backed up. Second, this morning, after using it for about an hour, songs started skipping and it finally entirely froze. I was able to reset it, but it's been frozen on the apple ever since, and won't move beyond that screen. Anyone deal with this before or have any thoughts?

I haven't had this happen myself, but it sounds like you've got a corrupted hard disk, in which case a Restore will be necessary to correct. It's just a guess though. Too bad you don't have everything backed up. If you read much of these discussion groups, you'll see that it really is a good idea to keep your library backed up.

That's not a good sign, take your iPhone to a premium reseller or to an Apple Store.

How do i fix my home button it has completely stopped working after i dropped it and now its frozen on the apple screen?

so yesterday i dropped my iphone and the home key stopped working. i had to turn the phone completely off to change screens and get back to the home page. today i turned it off to get back to the home screen and now it is frozen on the apple screen. its been like this for about an hour or so. i plugged it into the computer and it still hasnt done anything. i try to reset it but of course since the home button isnt working it wont allow me to do so.
does anyone know what to do besides taking it to apple?

You can try the steps recommended in the User Guide. If they don't work bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Try as much as you can. When it says to place in recovery mode use this program instead.

Unknown "source"? Do you mean unknown "error" followed by a number?

Follow the instructions in the article. When you connect your phone again, you may have to press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears, then continue pressing the home button until iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode.

Reset it by holding the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears.

Is there anything that I can do myself?

Unplug it and let unit go dead. Then hold your Home button down and plug the USB power cord back in. iTunes should see it and then restore.
