Triggering Event in BW through a ABAP Program in R/3

Hello Friends,
I am working on triggering a process chain in BW using ABAP program in R/3.
1. I have created a test process-chain in BW which sends test email upon running. This process chain is triggered by an event "Z_START_PC".
2. I created a function module "ZBW_EVENT_RAISE" which triggers this event.
     ( This function module is "remote enabled module")
3. I tested running the process chain, with function-module (SE37), which works fine.
     ( i.e. I do receive test-email after..)
4. Now I created a ABAP program "ZBW_EVENT_RAISE" in R/3.
     The code of which is as follows:
     REPORT ZBW_EVENT_RAISE.
    parameters: rfcdest like t000-logsys.
    parameters: bwevent like tbtco-eventid.
    call function 'ZBW_EVENT_RAISE'
    destination rfcdest
     exporting
     eventid = bwevent.
5. When I try to run this ABAP program in R/3 (SE38),
     The process chain does not get triggered.
(a) The "<b>rfcdest</b>" i got from SM59 - RFC Destinations -
        R/3 Connections - BW Development Server Client
        Value is "BWDCLNT999".
How do I go about debugging this issue? I know for sure, the BW- function module -- to Trigger -- to Process-chain is working fine. Only part is R/3 to B/W function module starting.
Any help is appreciated.

in ST05 there is an option for RFC trace. Not sure how much detail that will give you but you can try.
It is possible that your userid doesn't have an RFC call authorization in R/3. Do a SU53 immediately after running the program.
Also, replace the FM with any other FM that you know for sure runs (eg some BAPI FM) and run it - either in SE37 in R/3 with RFC destination for BW, or, from your code itself and see if that works (you can check return code).

Triggering event FMRE-CREATED in an infinite loop

Hi guys,
Iu2019m having a big problem in Public Sector Management with Founds Management Government when I create a Found reservation Tcode FMX1.
My problem is the triggering event FMRE-CREATED (event to start the Workflow) because when the document is created, this event is generated by the system which is fine, but inside on my Workflow I have a task to change the status with FMRE-SetLock, when this method is executed, automatically trigger an event FMRE-CREATED again, so my WF gets in a infinite loop.
How can I tell the system to donu2019t trigger this event when the status is changed?

How you changing the status? Check any Function Module or BAPI to change the status.
You have acheive it via Start Condition, check are you getting entry in the Table SWFREVTLOG for Creation.
If second time creating, check for the entry in the table, if found not allow it.

Function modules to generate the event required

Hi guys,
I have created a workflow but its start event is not getting triggered though condition data is correct.
I want to debug and see when the Business object's event is called.
Can you please tell me name of the Function modules to generate the event. This way i'll put a breakpoint on those and check the flow ?

Also I want you advice on the real issue i'm facing.
I have created a workflow giving some condition with start event as CHANGED of BUS1006. Now the work of populating the field in condition is done automatically by a BADI i've created.
The issue is that the workflow is not triggerd during automatic population of teh field but is triggered when i explicitly populate the field.
The reason might be that CHANGED event of the business object used is triggered before the SAVE BADI has populated teh field. So CHANGED event 's condition is not satisfied before the BADI has finished updating.
Is there a way tackle this. Can I somehow push back the trigger of workflow...I'm new to workflows so please don't mind if this sounds foolish

BUG? VIEWS with INSTEAD OF triggers are updatable????

When I try to update the view created with the PL/SQL code from
below, with an infobus data form generated by JDev wizards , i
ontain this error "ORA-22816: unsupported feature with RETURNING
clause"
Below this text are an plus80 sql text file, producing the same
error and creating the database environment required.

Demostrating the correctness of this code there are a

Are INSTEAD OF triggers the only way to insert/update
information from a form using a view that combines
fields from two different tables? My goal is to try
to get away from using so many triggers and contain
as much as I can within HTML DB. Is this really the
only way?While you might be intimidated by the seeming complexity of an instead-of trigger, in the long run you'll be glad to dug in and did it the right way. The instead-of trigger is a thing of beauty where databases are concerned.
One thing to be careful about: when you attach a trigger to a view and recompile the view, if it has 'CREATE OR REPLACE' in the definition, any triggers defined for the view will be lost. All your hard work creating that elegant trigger could be gone in a keystroke.
Either use 'CREATE' without the 'OR REPLACE' or save a copy in your script repository or someplace safe so you can recreate it the event that it 'goes away' unexpectedly.
As always, this is only my experience. Your mileage may vary. Perhaps you're smarter than me and have a nice trick you'd like to share for preserving such things in a more elegant way??

You can design your report and use Function module VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL for that.
You need to use Action type as 'S' for displaying and 'U' for maintaining the table.
Ex:

"Refresh after" insert fails for DB-View with INSTEAD OF Triggers

I have a database view with INSTEAD OF triggers defined for INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.
For some EO attributes the refresh after insert and update is defined.
Posting to database fails.
According to Database 9.2 Manual and a previous thread (BC4J and Updatable Views the RETURNING clause is not allowed for database views with INSTEAD OF triggers.
Is there a workaround so the refresh after is done, but without the RETURNING feature?
I only need to refresh some values. The PK i can set in the create method of the EO so refresh via a additional SELECT would be possible.
If not Feature Request:
Add the possibility to do the "refresh after ..." with a 2nd SELECT using the PK instead of using the RETURNING clause.
Of course then it is not possible to set the PK in the database trigger. PK has to be set in the create method of the EO.

Hi Markus,
Turning on the stack trace (-Djbo.debugout put=Console - in the Project/runner) did help and I should have done it sooner. Turns out that when I constructed my EO based upon a database view - I should have left out the PKs of the base tables.
In my case, I am using an "Instead Of Trigger" to populate a multi-table arrangement (parent - child - grandChild - greatGrandChild relationship) where all base tables are using dbSequence/dbTriggers.
Final analysis - I would like to see BC4J handle this situation. I do not want to use View-Links and I should * not * have to resort to stored procedures and BC4J/doDML. If I construct a DB View this is participating in an parent - child - grandChild - greatGrandChild relationship that are using dbSequence/dbTriggers, then BC4J should be smart enough to construct VO knowing that I want to do insert, update, delete, selects - based upon this structure.

Regarding Workflow triggering event.

Hi,
Description: I have created a Object type and a event for the same by transaction SWO1, after that i have created a WorkFlow(WF) for which the triggering event is the event i have created in the Object Type. There is a report in which i have used the FM "SWE_EVENT_CREATE" and passed the Object Type, Event Name, Key field values and the creator.
Problem: When i am executing this report the FM is called and the sy-subrc after call is 0, stating that the call was succesfull, but the WF is not getting triggered when i went to transaction SWI2_FREQ to check this WF is not at all triggered. But when i tested from WF transaction SWDD it is working fine.
Could anyone please explain me on this. or is there any other way to use an event of a Object Type to trigger WF.

Work Flow - Triggering Event through Webdynpro

I am new to Workflow. I have generated the Workflow related to claim (Objects as ABAP Class). Now I have generated Webdynpro component and through this I need to execute the Workflow. I have used the FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW & SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT. To raise the event 'cl_swf_evt_event=>raise'. I have used. But this is not triggering event. So, Any one can help me on this issue.
In workflow using ABAP CLASS is essential or Business object.
In my case I have used only ABAP CLASS. In workflow I have generated the Triggering event as SAVE. In webdynpro I have generated the code in 'ONACTIONSAVE'. When ever the user clicks SAVE' button. Workflow shouild trigger and approver should receive the mail as notification and he/she will approve/reject the claim.

After SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW do you have COMMIT WORK?
Does the SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW return some error message?
Are you sure that the event is not triggered? Check this with event monitor SWEL (turn monitor on in SWELS).
Also, ready Jocelyn Dart's blogs about ABAP OO. She have clear instructions about how to trigger ABAP OO events.

Triggering event from for-each

Hi,
I have a process that takes long to execute, I want to be
able to send a progress notification to the user with the hope of
not getting him bored or impatient, for some reason I can't achieve
it and I don't know where to go for help, if you know how to solve
this, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have some code like this:

I would expect to see my ProgressBar advancing as the process
is completed, but for some reason the process seems to take control
of the execution and no onProgressEvent is fired until the foreach
finishes execution. It will run perfectly in the debugger (step by
step) but it doesn't work at runtime.
Is there any way I can achieve this in Flex?? Is there any
event class I can use to solve this issue?
maybe anyone has done this before or knows a link to more
information on this subject?

Flash functions execute within a frame. They finish before
any UI rendering is done. You will have to use callLater , somehow,
within your loop to give the UI a chance to draw.. There is a more
detailed answer to this thread somewhere else.

Editable views with instead of triggers in Oracle 10G

We are attempting to migrate our database application from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10G. We have found that we are getting the error [ORA-03113 end-of-file on communication channel] when we attempt to insert multiple rows into database tables using editable views equipped with INSTEAD OF triggers. When inserting multiple rows, we are using a single insert statement of the form insert into...select from. Strangely enough, when the select query within the insert statement returns a single row, the insert statement is successful. We also noticed that if we issue a commit right before executing the insert statement, the insert statement is successful regardless of the number of rows being inserted. But this is not a viable workaround as the current transaction contents needs to be maintained. We did not have these issues in Oracle 9i. Does Oracle 10G have any known issues with editable views equipped with INSTEAD OF triggers? Are there any settings in the INIT.ORA file that can resolve these issues? Thanks for your help.

Confirmed. If you use 2D input, or change the Z dimensions so they are different, you will get the results you expect in 10g. Otherwise - a line.
I'm not sure why, and can't see a bug report on that in support, but obviously it was recognized and fixed as you indicate.
Try it with 2D input, and it will work:

DM 3.0.0.665 instead of triggers not generating DDL correctly

There seems to be a bug in the DDL generation for manually created INSTEAD OF triggers on views. The INSTEAD OF trigger does not have the INSTEAD OF clause upon DDL generation. Instead, it has the BEFORE clause. It seems to be treating INSTEAD OF triggers as normal triggers. Note: When I reversed engineered a database that already had an INSTEAD OF trigger, it imported and generated DDL was fine. This bug shows itself when manually creating INSTEAD OF triggers.
Steps to replicate:
1. In any design that has a view.
2. In the physical model, find the view, expand it, right click to create Trigger for view
3. By definition, a trigger on a view can only be an instead of trigger.
4. The dialog box will have the 'Triggering time' showing as INSTEAD OF. You can't change it. (Which there is no reason to do anyway)
5. Generate DDL. When generating the DDL, the trigger will not be generated as INSTEAD OF, it will be generated as a BEFORE (INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE).

Move RE cost from Contract No to Building/Property within RE module instead of FI

Hi, RE experts:
Our company's process moves costs from contract to Buildings/Properties by posting a FI document that will debit to Buildings/Properties and credit to contract nomber.
Is there any way to move the cost from contract to Buildings/Properties within the Real Estate module instead of posting FI documents?

Hi Jenny,
As per my understanding through a REFX contract you can make the FI posting entries, at the same time you can define the objects as per your cleint requirement, for those objects you can distibute the charges / conditions what you are paying through a contract.
In your case you want to flow the costs to Building, so try to assign the building in the RECN Contract in Objects Tab, (instead of rental object).
While adding the conditions in the contract ( conditions tab ) try to select the Building and for that you can assign the conditions.
To assign building in contract ( Objects tab ) you may need to do the foloowing configuration as below.
SPRO - Flexible Real Estate Management (RE-FX) --> Contract --> Objects --> Permitted Object Types per Contract Type --> you can select your contract type and assign it to building, so that it will allows you to assign the building in contract.
( Attached screen shot FYI ) .
After assigning in contract - conditions tab - simulation mode - you can see the object cash flow ( against your building & partner related cash flow ).
