Function to find users in Role assignment

Is there any function module to get the users for the assigned role in the cProject task?

Hi Harshada,
After you get the guid of the BP of user-id.
1. Select dpr_bupal_link using BP guid to get the role (concrete) guid.
2. Select the dpr_part using the role guid to get the role.
3. Select the dpr_entitiy_link using the role guid to get the assigned tasks.
If you would like to take the abstract role into account, you can use cgpl_hierachy to abstract role.
Then repeat steps 2 & 3 above.

All users are created in SOLMAN_SETUP with the proper authorizations, just follow the guided procedure. In LMDB, you can set up the RFC connections to your satellite systems after you pushed the system information with RZ70 / SLD data supplier.

Function module to Delimit the roles assigned to the user

Hi All,
I am working on security role automation process abap report.My requirement is to delimit the roles assigned to the user on account of employee termination or retirement. I have used the function module "BAPI_USER_ACTGROUPS_ASSIGN" to delimit the role assigned to the user.
Passing the importing parameter "username" and in the Tables parameter"ACTIVITYGROUPS" passing the respective parameters AGR_NAME(Role), FROM_DAT(Start Date),TO_DAT(termination date - 1). When I passing the parameters as mentioned above,the role assigned to the user is getting deleted,instead of delimitation of the role assigned to the user.
Is there any other function module we can use to delmit the roles assigned to the user? Please help.

Find users with Role A and Role B but not Role C

Hi all.
How can I find users that have a combination of roles? The find user and user reports only have one line for selecting a role the user has. Is there a report that lets you select multiple roles? It would be really handy!

If you haven't found it, there are likely no such reports, but it is easy to do that in a custom report. The problem is that its really badly documented how to make a custom report. But, it's really not that difficult if you know what to do. I will, when I get some spare time, post a guide here on how to make a custom report, the way I, and some other people, think it should be done.
Roughly a custom report consists of three parts, a listing object, to make the report turn up in the report list, a report form, and the report WF. The trick is to know the correct subtypes, attributes and such.
But take a look here Sunday, and there will possibly be a nice custom report guide posted.

I think a download of table AGR_USERS will provide you with the desired information or at least with enough info to filter on in Excel..

Find user rights related to schema

i am stucked in a problem.
i have an oracle 9i database release2 on windows server 2003.
there is schema IINVENTORY and there is 96 tables in this schema. there are many roles creted in this database.
how i can find which roles are created for this schema.
there are plenty of users created in this database. now i want to find which users are assigned which roles
regarding this schema INVENTORY.
i also search the forums, google, tables like privs but i could not find my results.

Personalize Link and Standard User / End User Core Role

Hi Expert,
Need your help in customizing service that appear when
Personalize hyperlink click on Portal Right hand side.
I understand the Personalize hyperlink
appearing from Standard User Role or End User Core Role.
I have copied End User Core Role and changed the ID,
after that have removed all workset apart from User profile
and assigned the new edited role to my user ID and it working fine.
My Query is can any one please let me know,
1. How is the new End User Core Role working? Where are the details property /or any other settings
with respect to use the End User Core Role done,
as the Personalize hyperlink appears when End User Core Role assigned to user?
3. What are the configurations or any other changes that I have
to do, if I need some other XYZ role to appear as a hyperlink like Personalize hyperlink appearing when End User Core Role is assigned?
4. What are the steps / Process, if I have to remove all the tabs except General Information tab under User profile iView { Without using (CTRL + Right mouse click)}.
5. If the pages at {portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/pages}
are been used how are they used?

Hi Eric,
you can add the Personalize iView to the page or end user role you created.
to add the personalize iView to your role navigate to
Content Provided by SAP - Admin Interfaces - Admin iView Templates - you can find different iViews related to Personalize.
add the iView you want the end users to change.
This is the simpler way.

Link users - positions - roles - authorization objects

Hi guys,
I want to write a report that would link USERS to POSITIONS to ROLES and finally to AUTHORIZATION OBJECTS. The user would enter the SAP username in the selection screen and the report should extract all the information listed above.
I am able to link the following:
+ Users to positions via function module RH_BRANCH_GET
+ Users to roles via table AGR_USERS
+ Roles to authorization objects via function module PRGN_1251_READ_FIELD_VALUES
Unfortunately, I dont know how to link positions to roles
Does anyone know how to do that?
Also, is there a more efficient way, than the approach highlighted above, to complete this requirement

Hi,
you can find a link between role and HR object in table HRP1001. The field SOBID contains name of the role. You need to find way how to convert object ID into position role. Be careful about additional fields from that table.

Role info not appearing once role assignment request is submitted from UI

Hi Everyone,
We have a strange problem in our project in IDM 7.2 SP8 where IDM role concept is used which contains privileges (could be role/profile) of backend systems.
Usually when ever a role (i.e IDM role) assignment request is submitted from UI, the activity with the associated info (like user details, role details, audit ID) should be stored in MXI_LINK table from where the info will be fetched and used in next stages of the processing
Even though the information is getting available for most of the cases for all users but some times for few users once the role assignment request is initiated from UI there is no info is getting available in MXI_LINK table corresponding to this activity which is strange.
Because of this problem even though user submits role assignment request no role info getting passed to IDM, set to pending state for the user which is getting meaning of user not submitted any role assignment request at all.
Can any one suggest what are the things that gets involved between these two steps and any troubleshooting hints are highly appreciable.

Is this a situation you recreate at will? In other words, is it always happening on the same users? If so, you could put a trace on that user's account then try to add the role and see what that trace log shows. Additionally, you could just follow the links in the chain of the various tasks that kick off when you do a role assignment and check each task / job's job log and see what that tells you. There's got to be an error somewhere along the way that's preventing this from executing properly.

How to Pre-Populate the user information during Assign Task operation

I have a requrirement to Pre-Populate the form fields (Name, Email, Phone etc...) when a task is assigned to a user. The users are dynamically assiged, so I am using the Find User and the Assign Task services to locate and assign the task to the user. Since I have a User variable that is a result from the Find User operation, I was hoping to retrieve the user information with the attributes of the User type.
I tried to use the Set Value service to set the form field (Email) with the email attribute of the User object type i.e.
/process_data/MyForm/object/data/xdp/datasets/data/Form/User/Email   -> /process_data/facilityAuthority/object/@email
However I get the following error when I try to do this - com.adobe.idp.dsc.util.InvalidCoercionException: Cannot coerce object: [B@335d of type: [B to type: interface org.w3c.dom.Document.
Is it possible to retrieve the user information from the User object? If so how do I get the values for the User attributes (Name, Email & Phone etc...) so that I can populate them in the form?

If you are facing an exception of the form "com.adobe.idp.dsc.util.InvalidCoercionException: Cannot coerce object: [B@335d of type: [B to type: interface org.w3c.dom.Document.", It is because the system is trying to cast a Byte Stream into w3c Document and failing. To resolve this we can explicitly cast this byte stream to appropriate data type (String in previous example). To do so we can use a SetValue operation.
As an example
Setting
/process_data/MyForm/object/data/xdp/datasets/data/Form/User/Email   -> /process_data/facilityAuthority/object/@email
results in the exception
so we can modify it to
/process_data/MyForm/object/data/xdp/datasets/data/Form/User/Email   -> string(/process_data/facilityAuthority/object/@email)

Find User Exit or BADI

Hi all,
When I worked in the version 4.6 I used to use the object v_ext_act, v_ext_imp and the transaction St05 to find a user exit or a badi when I need it. But since I started to work in the version 6.0 it seems that with these objects I can't find anything.
Any of you know if SAP has changed the name of these objects?

Hi Raul,
Another approach that you can use in order to find out user-exit or badi in a program or transaction is to start execution of it in debug mode and then put a break-point in following statements:
CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION --> to find user-exits.
CALL BADI --> to find BADI's
Then just press F8 and SAP will stop whenever a user-exit or badi is invoked.

Strictly speaking the user/group/role assignment is not part of the normal transport process in that it will not make those mappings when you transport the content to the next system in your architecture.
However - you can export users / groups which includes the mappings details. This can be used in your downstream systems.
Subsequent transports of objects do not "break" existing mappings.
