Funds Management for all transaction

Hi
I have activated funds management. I want this only for checking budget for non-assigned PO.
But it will ask comittment items for all business transactions like FI / MM / SD,etc
What settings needs to be done for the same so that other transactions are affected. Please help

Hi,
Bear in mind that the minimum account assignment that must be provided in case of FM, is funds center and commitment item, this is required for postings, budget, avc and so on.
Funds center can be a combination of cost centers that you should have filled in your PO.
To be able to derive automatically funds center from the cost center, use FMDERIVE transaction creating  a derivation rule that connects cost centers to the funds centers.
The FM derivation tool can only be used for deriving Funds Management account assignments. Additional information is
available in note 881202.

It is only a text document but with links and with all the necessary instructions to start FM in your company.

    If you are not modifying those records which are asking for a reason field to be filled, then it should be coming from the Late setup. Check the CLA setup.

  • Numbering series for all TRANSACTIONS

    hello gurus,
    Normally, in SBO system continues with the same numbering series for all Transactions.
    my question is : is there a option to create new numbering series for the TRANSACTIONS.

    It is not normal for B1 that uses the same numbering series for all Transactions.  Only if you have selected this option, you would get this results.  However, this option may not be changeable if you have posted transaction already.

  • PSM - Funds Management - Subsequent Posting (transaction FMB0)

    Good day to all forumites. I am currently implementing Funds Management at our company (City Power Johannesburg South Africa) an electricity utility. The aim of implementing FM is to activate active availibility control (AVC) for cost center/cost element expenditure. We use cost element/center planning for budgeting purposes and intend to remain so for the future. We are on ECC6 and Funds Management has also been upgraded to the latest version.
    I have made the configuration settings as I think best including a full derivation strategy for cost elements/centers to commitment items/funds centers on a one-to-one basis i.e. for every cost element/center combination there is a corresponding entry in table FMFMOACP91000001. This table is created as resut of creating the derivation steps with transactions FMDERIVER.
    I have sucessfully transferred all CO Plan Data with transaction FMCYCOPI_CO form CO Planning to FM. My problem arises with the transfer of actual CO postings from CO to FM using transaction FMB0 (subsequent posting). When running a test sample of previously posted documents (in CO)  I get error messages which refer to a funds center required in the derivation strategy. The error message isn't very clear to me as I have as stated created a derivation strategy. I am not sure if for e.g. if there is a G/L account as offsetting account in the CO posting document it creates the error message. I have created an additional step in the derivation strategy to link all our gl accounts to one commitment item but this also does not seem to fix the problem.
    During the implementaion there have been several instances where notes had to be applied. This was as result of error messages I had encountered  during the initial testing after the base configuration had been completed. I am not sure if there could be a program error.
    I would appreciate any suggestions/advice on fixing the posting problem.

    Hi Eli thank you very much for your help. By activating the trace I have removed half of my error messages. Most of the error messages relate to secondary cost elements which I have assigned per cost center to a generic commitment item and funds center i.e. many to one as suggested in the SAP Help documentation. What now remains is that the second line of a document for e.g. of an entry where an order for e.g. PM Order is referenced as object in the document line. I tried creating a second derivation step with the cost element and PM order field as source fields and a common funds center and commitment item as destination fields. The pm number range is used as the source field range as the numbers are too many for me to make a field entry with each individual pm order number. The error as described above however remains. I am not sure if I am creating the second derivation step incorrectly as it says on the screen the steps have to be in logical ord
    Can you perhaps suggest a way forward in terms of a derivation step whereby the system would recognise an order and derive the generic destination field(s) as explained above.

    I want to do commitment (for budget check) for PO. This commitment i require for PO only. Not for other transactions like FB60, F-53, etc.
    But its asking me commitment item for each and every item. Let me know how to bring it only for PO and de-activate for other transactions.

    make this commitment item is required entry for all filed status groups, assign this commitment item in fs00, to make commitment items automatically, you can do it in FIPOS, after that create a derivation strategy for 'GL and Commit.item, do the required settings for activity groups and assign it in available control. if your budget is limited to few gl accounts, make all other items as statistical. but what ever you do, you have to create at least one derivation rule to do budget after activating FM.

  • Blocking a company code for all transactions.

    A compnay code is having two plants assigned. No open documents in that company code.
    How to block the company code for any transactions including purchase document creation?
    However all the past data to be available for viewing and reference.

    You can remove authorization from user profile to use this company code.
    And when someone try to save any documents , error message will be send.

  • Display role for all transactions

    Hi,
    We want to create a role with all transactions, but display only. (Same as SAP_ALL with display access only)
    I have read previously posted messages in this forum, but didn't find the solution.
    The SAP_ALL_DISPLAY role was available prior to 4.7. But we want to create role on WAS 6.4 onwards.
    Does anyone has solution for this?

    Hi Prasad,
    My response was to Rajeswari's question rather than your situation which I appreciate is different to the one he was talking about.
    Creating a display role based on SAP_ALL with all activities set to display mode takes around 2 hours, it sounds like it would be worth your while creating it from scratch, though I appreciate that it is a tedious task!
    By using a display role in this manner you will still have the potential for access to functions that are controlled by shared objects, however the risk is reduced unless you give them access to debug & replace.

  • Blocking Vendor for All Transactions

    Hi all,
    I have activated sensitive fields for vendor master creation and change. When there is a change in predefined sensitive fieldsu2019 vendor is blocked until confirmation. But my problem is I can still open PO for these blocked vendorsu2019. Shouldnu2019t it be blocked for any transaction such as opening PO or invoice verification? Until vendor changed is confirmed by superior it has to be blocked. How I could achieve this. I would like to hearing from you.

    You can't stop looking the documents for that vendor, just because even if you see you can't post the document again as the procurement from that vendor has been stoped..
    for eg : So if you block the vendor even if the PO is visible, it is not possible to have any further procurement from them, and system will show a error message that the
    vendor has been blocked.
    So there is no need to worry abt it...

  • Funds Management for PO with reference to a PR

    Hello,
    I'd like to check the system's behavior on the next issue:
    Letu2019s say I have a funds reservation for $18,000,000.00 and I create a purchase requisition with one item with reference to this funds reservation for an amount of $17,000,000.00.
    Then I create a purchase order with one item, making reference to the purchase requisition for $10,000,000.00.
    At the moment I have availability in the reserve of $1,000,000.00 and a commitment (also pre-commitment) of $17,000,000.00 ($10,000,000.00 from the purchase order and $7,000,000 from the requisition).
    If I later (after I had saved) try to update the purchase order item increasing its net value, for example in more than one million (exceding the reserve's available amount), the systems generates an availability control error indicating that I donu2019t have enough funds in the funds reservation (which its true).
    My question concerning the systemu2019s behavior is, doesnu2019t it recognize the fact that the PO is referenced to a PR, therefore being able to consider also the remaining amount of the PR as a funds source for the increased value of the PO item (instead of only the reservation available amount)?
    If I make a new PO with reference to the same position of the PR, I can do it for the whole available value (funds reservation + PR), and the system makes the necessary reduction for the PR at funds level.
    However, as I mentioned before, if I increase the value of the PO item it only recognizes the available amount in the funds reservation as a funds source to AVC check.
    Iu2019d like to know if this is a right behavior and if there's a way to make the system use the amount commited in the Purchase requisition, to be able to increase the item in the PO, making the necessary reduction in the PR and funds reservation (BUT RECONIZING BOTH FUNDS RESERVATION AND PURCHASE REQUISITION AS POSSIBLE SOURCE OF FUNDS FOR THE INCREASE, INSTEAD OF ONLY THE AMOUNT AVAILABLE IN THE RESERVATION, DURING THE AVC CHECK).
    In the activity "Define Activation of Availability Control" is specified "Active with usual check logic".

    Thanks for your answer, but I'm using type C (Active with usual check logic) for the fiscal year in question (2009).
    But the system is only checking the available amount in the funds reservation when I increase the value in the purchase orde item, it doesn't try to decrease the value of the purchase requisition, which still has a $7,000,000 commitment, in order to be able to use that as funds to be able to increase the value in the PO. That's what I don't know if it's a normal system behavior or it could be something in the customizing to help me solve this issue (bear in mind that I'm updating the purchase order, because when I create the PO there's no problem or even creating a new one with reference to the PR, it let's me use not only the amount available in the funds reservation, but also the commitment in the PR as available funds for my PO).
    I wouldn't want to decrease the value of the purchase requisition to be able to increase the availability in the funds reservation (so I could increase the PO item value), because it has been released and approved. And I can't either fix the "closed" indicator on the requisition to release commitment, because the remaining value of the requisition could be used to create other purchase orders.

    I have gone through the OBC4 and modified but Settlement period apperead and not on scrren ,it is in more data.
    Please suggest how can i retrieve that settlement period on line layout from more data.
    Moreover Ref.specification key also couldn't appear Y?

    It is not possible to keep the field you asked from additional data to main screen.
    If you really require that, ask your abaper to copy the program & create a new zscreen program and design the layout.
    ask ur client to use instead of main transaction.
    As per my knowledge, this is the only way as I faced this kind of problem earlier.

    Our companys wants full authorisation ( sap_all + sap_new ) for Auditors but in Display Mode only.
    What I did, I created Z_auditor role and selected all logistic ( Not Tools ) and in authorisation S_TABU_DIS I kept only display.
    But in many transaction i seen that there is create, change option available.
    Pl. guide us what to do, urgent ?

    Please DO NOT try to create SAP_ALL_DISPLAY.
    There are standard roles for auditors which should be a great start for your roles.
    Please look at http://service.sap.com/ais , there you'll find lots of information about the Audit Information System.
    Auditors are used to this, usually.

  • [t431s] Code 28 in Device Manager for all external storage.

    I'm using Windows 8.1 on a t431s. I'm having this problem where none of my external storage is being recognized. Under "Device Manager" any sort of external storage I plug in ends up under "Other devices". When I click on the device, I get Code 28 "The drivers for this device are not installed." Trying to update the driver brings me nowhere. The devices don't appear under disk management.
    What's weird is that other USB peripherals such as mice and USB headphones don't have any problem. 
    Here's what I've tried so far: 
    Updated the BIOS.
    Used Lenovo's SCCM package for Windows 8.1
    Tried installing the individual drivers for each hard drive.
    Nothing works! What's going on here?

    After doing a bit of research. It seems your not the only one with this issue. WD has had this issue with even Windows 7 since 2012 with other Passport models.
    I honestly recommend seeking support with WD about this issue if you have not done so already as the ones who where able to fix this issue did so with updated drivers from WD.

  • Check point in fund management for budget and creation of po

    I have a Budget for a perticular expenses say Rs 100000/-, so the po should not be created for more than Rs 100000/- as per the budget. but the po is been created for more than the budget amount.
    pls. let me know where the check point has to be maintain.

    First of all as a primary step you can do the following :
    1. is the commitment item getting derived in the PO.
    2. Is the commitment item non statistical ( means you have not put the tick on statistical commitment item ) in FMCIA .
    3. check the budget amount via the report FMRP_RW_BUDCON for the budget amount and released amount .

  • Exclude budget update in Funds Management for particular FI document type

    HI FM gurus !!
    We have an issue in FM .We do the service entry for Transporters for the whole years charges at one time . ( for some reason it cant be done for the month) So we have to pass the FI entry for the Prepaid Expenses. But when we do this entry in FI  corresponding effect goes in FM and the Budget for this committment item gets INCREASED. THIS WE DONT WANT since this temperorily available budget may get used for other things. This is the background .
    so All we would like to do is to prevent the budget update in FM for this Prepaid entry. How can we do this ? is there any config or BADI ?
    PLEASE ADVICE

    For budget not being available for consumption after being posted through FMBB th issue was in my AVC profile. and for the second part where budget was not consumed after invoice being posted through FB60 the issue was in my fiscal yeas variant year shift. the posting was taking plane in the wrong fiscal yeas hence consuming budget for that particular fiscal year and not of the year i intended to post to.   • Show History showing 'Manager' for all changes

    We have come another instance where by an order which was added on SAP yesterday
    A user (USER1) updated the Sales order by adding a space on the remark field and  then updated.However the show history function is displaying the log as Manager who did this.  USER1 did not log in as Manager. Has anyone ever come across this? The version this is happening on is 8.8 PL20.

    Out of interest, if the marketing document has formatted searches on it and these are set to update when a header field is changed i.e. If you're in a sales order. Add it then move to an existing sales order thus the header information's changed and the 'Update' field becomes available. Does this update the history as the user you're logged in as or does it user a generic 'Manager' user?
