Future of SAP CRM

Hello Friends,
I need a very sincere advice with the help of this forum and would really appreciate the SAP folks to open-up and provide your best futuristic and honest suggestion
My Background
I have a total of 7.5 years of experience that includes 6 years of SAP presales support activity. Now when I say presales as you all know it stars from LEAD QUALIFICATION and ends to LEAD CONVERSION  and the capacity of work that is involved between these two word is enormous. So far my professional career got totally engrossed into RFPs, RFIs, RFQs proposal preparation, SOW preparation, estimation, client presentation, case study, defining GTM strategy, coordination between different teams (Infra, COE, Sales, Legal.....). Though this role has given me lots of knowledge on the domain (manufacturing, retail, utility, consumer goods...) as well as SAP (ECC, SRM, SCM, CRM, BI/BW.....) but what I think if I can combine my current experience (I call it as domain) with real time project experience in some module of SAP; then it will add more value and wattage to my CV as well as my future career path.
My Thoughts
I am sure there are many professionals like me who have chosen this kind of path for his/her career, but the biggest question comes WHERE ARE WE HEADING TO!!!!!!! --a sales professional, or Bid manager or an account manager there on to practice heads and so on. The answers is yes these could be an option but to be a good solution architect or AM/BM in SAP space i think it is important to be well versed with one of the modules in combination with domain.
Future of SAP
We all know the future of SAP is heading from CAPEX to OPEX market which mean CLOUD is / going to be HOT CAKE for its customer, then comes some of the emerging technology like CLOUD COMPUTING, HANA, Mobility SucessFactors, HADOOP etc. I am sure people will agree that in every human the wisdom teeth comes only after certain age but that doesn't conclude with the downfall of all other 32 teeth and in my opinion so is SAP. With these emerging technologies the backbone of SAP R/3 will continue to exist.
My Questions
The next important aspect comes what combination of modules should a professional like me choose to gain project experience and what is its future/milestone because these days we have been hearing a lot of new technology within SAP space. Please suggest from the below list which I thought could be the probable options
SAP CRM Functional
SAP SD
SAP SD+CRM
SAP SCM (APO, DP, SNP, GATP, PPDS)
SAP IS Retail
Please share your thoughts and suggestion and I am sure it will definitely add value in my decision. I appreciate your thoughts in anticipation

  • Advice on SAP CRM

    Hi Experts,
I am working on SAP ABAP, is it good to learn SAP CRM for future career, basically i am Graduate in Maths & Chemical engg.; working on ABAP for the last 3 years, i am very much interested to switchover to new SAP areas. I am doing my M.B.A(Part time course) and i have couple of years of experience in PHP/MYSQL before i was SAP consultant.
Please suggest is it fine to me in future & let me know future of SAP CRM.
    Thanks in advance.
    REgards.
    Vishnu.

    Hi Vishnu,
You have good experience in ABAP .you did not mention in which areas you are comfortable with Like SD or MM .if you want to be an techno functional expertise you can always think of having good knowledge in one of the areas you work with .
As you are looking for the career in CRM just go through this.
    CRM deals with Customers .
Customer Relationship Management has become a crucial factor for the success
of a business. The customer is of central importance to the company and its
    business processes.
The goal of CRM is to establish, retain and improve long-term relationships with
    customers.
Traditional direct sales is characterized by decentralized information on customers.
In some cases, only one employee has knowledge of the customer and contact
    information.
This information is not typically used collectively within the organization.
If information is forwarded, it is often limited and incorrect. Employee
fluctuations mean that valuable customer information is often lost.
Every employee who requires information on customer contacts can now use
CRM to obtain immediate access to all contact information.
By analyzing information, a company obtains broad knowledge of customers.
This enables a company to improve the services they offer, process inquiries more
quickly, develop relationships and promote stronger customer loyalty.
The mySAP CRM solution supports marketing, sales/distribution, and service
processes across all contact channels and supplies accurate analyses that can be
    used for decision-making purposes.
mySAP CRM is a best-of-breed solution that allows you to optimize customer
relations across all phases, from customer acquisition through sales via all
available distribution and interaction channels to customer service.
mySAP CRM is based on the SAP NetWeaver technology platform, which means
that it can be seamlessly integrated into your existing IT landscape right from
    the start.

  • Regarding Sap CRM

What about the future of Sap CRM.can people of Sap SD learn Sap CRM.Oppurtinities in India.

    Hi,
the future is definitely going to be bright with the rise in development and modernisation across the globe inorder to be a better place where you get quality in time all the time. For all this to happen industries would want to have a strong ERP system in place and there comes SAP. The number one in the ERP segment. And thus you can find oppurtunities in SAP SD and grow further with the addition of CRM as the internet segment is further geared for a huge growth. So, CRM on internet, mobile are few of the things going to be in demand.
India is one place where SAP AG is particularly interested as the environment is poised for growth at par with China.
Hope the info throws some light. Pl reward if found useful

  • Variant Configuration in SAP CRM

    Hello all
My client is  currently using SAP R/3 4.7 and heavily use VC for configurable products and also for pricing but in the process of moving to ECC
Now we wish to explore the possibility of using SAP CRM 7.0 to enable our sales force to use CRM Web GUI to create quotes and sales orders ( in the future)  for configurable materials.
    My questions are as following:-
    1. Is it possible to download all VC related data into CRM from R/3 including pricing? I understand that for different VC object, I will have to use different CRM objects but is it possible? If the data transfer is possible, is it typically done by a middleware resource?
    2. I would also like to confirm that by creating a run time version and Kbase is required  to enable the download to CRM.
    3. No changes are possible on the product that can be replicated back to ECC
    4. Looking at the forums - I gather that "from CRM 2007 the PME is replaced with WEB UI in CRM. IF you want to do the modeling of a product then u need to use WEB UI and also for generating the KB" - does anyone have any information on this using the XCM ?
If you could please point me to the appropriate help on this topic, I would really appreciate it.
    Best regards
    Raj

    Hi Anne,
Hope you have done the following settings -
The product is marked as configurable in the product master data.
Product configuration is activated. You activate product configuration in Customizing under Customer Relationship Management Master Data Products Settings for Configurable Products Allow Configurable Products for a Product Type . For more information about activating product configuration, see SAP Note 854170.
You have created a product model (SAP CRM), or replicated a knowledge base with the configuration master data from SAP ERP to SAP CRM
These are mentioned in the below link  -
Product Configuration with the Configuration Engine in SAP CRM - SAP Library
    Hope this will be useful.

  • Some question about SAP CRM consultant

    Dear all,
I'm a center-based consultant in china. Our company is among the first batch to run SAP CRM in china in 2006.Our version is CRM 5.0.From my two years' working experience, the status of using CRM in our company is not very good.Complex UI,sychrorize problem makes our partner not willing to use this system.
I used to do some ABAP developing then i began to transfer to MM&SD.CRM work is the recent thing.During some months' work in CRM,i found i am more interesting in CRM.
I want to find a new job in outside consulting company in future.I want to focus on CRM.One aspect is that i'm interested in CRM.The other is that CRM is a new product and there is not so many people doing this. However,i seems getting some worries.First,SAP CRM seems not quite mature just from my understanding in 5.0 version. We  need to develope a lot not just using User-exit.I don't know whether 7.0 has changed a lot.I've seen the UI of 7.0.It seems much better. But is it means more company will choose SAP CRM 7.0 other than Siebel? In china, there seems not many CRM projects now and i don't know the status in other countries.Second,CRM may have much differences from ERP implementation because there are many process which can't be solidified.
In one word,i'm worried about CRM consultant's future. And i hope gurus to give me the answers.THx.

    Hi Feng
It would be very intersting to clients as well as consultants to work on SAP CRM. Career wise you have ample opportunities in the same. With the advent of various features in CRM 7.0 version, SAP is now more user friendly and is easy to implement with lot many processes covered as a part of vanila offer.
I wish you all the best and hope this helps.

  • Order not available in ECC6.0 where as the same order is in SAP CRM?

    Hi SAP Experts,
I have come up with one issue  as follows:
I have changed the sales order in SAP CRM  and when i try to open the same document in ECC 6.0 in TCode:VA02,it is directing to logon screen with user ID and Password. When i input my logon details and enter , it is now directing to VA02 screen with error as " sales Document Cannot be blocked" and the error info shows as " document may be archived in CRM".
In VA03 ,i can access the order but in VA02 this problem is  occurring. This only one order is having the problem and other orders i can access and change in VA02.
I would appreciate providing the solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards
    Succhi

    Hi Succhi,
Since your document is changeable in CRM then report CRM_CHECK_DISTRIBUTION_STATUS  wont fix in this case but just in case you need the report in the future you enter the object ID which you can get in table CRMD_ORDERADM_H and the transaction type. To update the status you uncheck the P_CHECK field as this just runs in test mode to see if the document status needs updating.
The orders have the status I1056 - transfer_failed. If the order have this status we don't delete the csl reference because the order can only changed in the crm system and should be not changed in the r/3 system. Does your document in CRM have this status? If there are no unprocessed queues then you can manually delete the CSL lock in ERP but this should only be an exception and not part of normal processing.
    Kind regards,
    Vanessa

  • Integrate SAP DMS with SAP CRM

    Hi Experts.
I'm currently performing an analysis to evaluate if SAP CRM and DMS are the ideal tools to replace a legacy system which has workflow and document management capabilities.
Thus I've been consulting the Documentation at http://help.sap.com regarding CRM , Knowlege Provider (from SAP WAS) and Document Management.
However I've been having some dificulties acquiring answers to some points, so I'm here trying to ask if you can provide me with information/documentation/links that would enlighten me on the refered points.
I'll will list the requirements that we're supposed to achieve and I would like to know if it is possible
to implement them using CRM and DMS
    Requirements:
    - any given workflow is started upon arrival of a requisition at the application (the requisition is digitalized and sent)
    - the workflow moves trought different departmens/users, each with their own set of permissions
    - at any given time in the flow, a user can add a note to the flow. This note will become read-only for the next steps in the flow
    - the user will receive visual alerts (blinking windows, different colours in the process title-header) regarding
process priority, new process arrival, process deadline
    - the current application allows to send e-mails
    - they require the abbility to extract reports and statistics from the processes
I have the following ideas from what I've read:
    - i've seen a post where someone talked about DMS workflow. Does DMS allows to create workflows such as : document goes to one department for analysis, other for approval and another for release?
    - I also read that it is possible to create different status for a document and also a status network? Is this
the workflows that DMS creates or something else that can be used in parallel
    - I know we can define responsibles for documents in DMS. Can this be used to set permissions?
    - Every reference I saw to DMS, I never find a reference to a front-end besides trough the KM in the Portal
( the enterprise Portal is not an option to be used at this time and probably in the future)
    - Is it possible to integrate DMS with CRM's Interaction Center WebClient
    - When I go to SPRO in my CRM instalation, I find in the SAP IMG-> SAP WAS-> Knowledge Management -> Document Management Service. Does this means that I can use DMS at will or must I install something more?
    - Is the meccanism of adding notes to process capable of being implemented in DMS? The user must be able to add more one note.I was thinking if the mechanism of Logical Documents in DMS would allow to add simple .TXT files thus emulating the added note.
I would be greatly appreciated for any help you could provide me on these questions Obviously, good answers
    will be rewarded accordingly.
    Thanks in advance.

When I do the search using document type in attachment tab I'm getting a message No documents found.

  • SAP CRM Groupware Connector for Exchange on 64 Bit platform

    Hi All,
We have successfully installed SAP CRM 5.0 on Windows 2003 x64 Server R2 SP2.
OS, Database and SAP Kernel are all 64 Bit enabled.
Now we are trying to install SAP CRM Groupware Connector on the same server.
But we encounter problems with SAP Groupware Connector 2.1 for MS Exchange installer (setup.exe), which stops with the following error:
    Required Software missing:
    - MS SOAP Toolkit
    Installation cannot be continued !
But SOAP Toolkit 3.0 definitely is installed.
Obviously the Groupware Connector is still 32 Bit.
It is the only available download in SAP Marketplace i could find.
The CD is located in the same area where the CRM installation CDs can be downloaded.
SAP does not differ between 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions.
I'm wondering if it is possible, to run a 32 Bit Groupware Connector in a 64 Bit environment.
Does anybody have experience with such a configuration ?
Or is there a 64 Bit enabled version available for download ? Where can i find this version ?
    Thank you in advance.

I got an answer from SAP Support:
SAP still recommends to use 32-bit system OS in order to avoid any future confusions.
So we have to install another 32 Bit Server only for the Groupware Connector.
    Thx for your interest.

  • SAP CRM Scope n Growth

    Hi Guys,
I am SAP-ISU Consultant with 5 years of work experience and before coming to SAP, i had domain experience in SD for 3 years. Now the growth and scope for ISU is getting stagnated, i would like to move on from ISU to CRM in order to en cash upon my domain experience. Could you please let me know the future scope and growth for SAP CRM module? Which are the important needs learn in order to have good career. Thanks
    With Regards,
    Patil

    Hi Patil
If you are already working in SAP-ISU do you have other colleagues or your company to discuss learning and transition opportunities.
Since you are familiar with SAP what sort of research have you already done? Future scope and growth will partly depend on where you are located and work opportunities. Have you searched local job sites for key words to see what is listed? This would help give you an indication?
CRM is a product that companies do invest in. If you are going to diversify you might also want to look into SAP Sales and Distribution to get the integration with SAP ERP as well.

  • Role of SAP CRM functional

I would like to know the role played by the SAP CRM functional. What is the scope of this role in future.

    Greetings,
Firstly, fantastic work that you are carrying on in the forum.
Secondly, I would appreciate if you could advise me my next step.
I have close 11+ years of experience in
Sales. Business Development , Key Account Management, Brand Management, Public Relations

    My questions are :

    look like with my profile?

    Dear Expert,
    1. Do you know how to transfer data for APD to SAP CRM ??
    2. The one that i know that we can transfer attribute of Business Partner (0BPARTNER) to CRM.
Can we transfer the data beyond attribute of 0BPARTNER? For example, data from ODS to ZTABLE on SAP CRM..
I really need your guidance & suggestion.
Many thanks all for your attention,
    Best regards,

    Hi,
<i>1. EEWB in this case is used to create tables in CRM Systems. So once i've made it (the tables), I can see that tables on BW Systems (particularly when i'm creating transformation).</i>
    Yes you are correct.
    <i>
    2. The procedure that i should make sequently :
    a. [CRM Systems]: Create z-tables through tcode EEWB.
Btw, do i make tables throught this t-code either in BW System & CRM System ?
If yes, Should the project name in EEWB for both system has the similar name?
    b. [BW Systems]: Create APD.
    c. [BW Systems]: Create transformation in APD for mapping where you'll see the table created in CRM System.</i>
    a) correct
You will make tables in CRM system. After the extension creation you can check it in the t-code SE12 in CRM system.
b)by project name you mean the project you assign to the TR's????
then it depends upon your system.SInce these are two different systems therfore you should create two different projects in the two systems and assign the projects accordingly.
    c) correct
    <i>An for others,
i made project in EEWB then i choose the business object is ADS (Analytical Data Storage) .. => Do i correct in choosing the business object there?</i>
    yes.
Yes this is I think a bug.I faced the same issue many times ... what you can do is try to deselect all the key figures and again select the keys.....this will help sometimes....after trying 2-3 times I think you will learn a way to come out of it:)
In future need my help ...you are welcome.
    Thanks

    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EmTech/StarTree+examples
I would like to learn more about the tool. Is there any documentation available? How is the tool to be implemented in the system architecture? How can I get a demo installation and prototyp use done?

    Thanks Eric,
The statement from the Roadmap and the Faq are politically correct,SAP says they will stop the future develoment or would be limited ,its like reading between the lines in particular this quote
"Projects requiring an Excel OLAP Integration should be carried out with BEx Analyzer 7.0. The tool is safe for 8+ years, and customers will be able to upgrade to Pioneer Excel. "
    Hope it Helps

  • Need help in getting information/training material for SAP CRM (Functional)

    Hello,
    I am a SD Consultant.
I want to learn SAP CRM (Functional) on my own without going to any training institute or some thing.
Therefore, can anyone help me in forwarding the link(s) or document(s) with which I can learn about SAP CRM (Functional).
I want information/training material regarding SAP CRM 7.0 (on system/software working, not the general information, for example- why CRM, where CRM, etc)
For example, about org data, org structure, possible scenarios, etc.
Thanks in advance for spending your valuable time for me.

    Hi Chaitanya,
Since You are already a SD Consultant, We assume you are very much familliar with SAP and for you CRM will also be not a big Deal.
Customer Relationships Management (CRM) is a model for managing any Organization's interaction with current and future customers. It involves technology to organize, automate and synchronize SALES, SERVICES(postsales) AND MARKETING(presales).
First of all you need to get SAP CRM installed in your system and then you need to get command over Account and Contact Management (Business Partner). The same can be learned using WebUI or GUI. From GUI the transaction launcher is WUI then web page opens up enter your credentials and select Role - Salespro. Open the Account and Contact section and do some R&D and you can learn. But in GUI you need to go to SPRO -> IMG -> Cross Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Number Ranges & Groupings -> Define Number Ranges. Here you have defined number range then you need to assign to some group created from SPRO same way. And Finally maintain Business Partner using Tcode - BP.
Then You Learn Organizational Management which allows us to map our marketing, sales, service structure maintaining company's structure including the position and Employees in an Application and assign specific attributes to the otganizational units.
Path: SPRO -> IMG -> CRM -> Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Organizational Model -> Create Org Model/Change org model.
Just Go ahead and with some more R&D in the system and taking of F1 Help of SAP Documentation I think you can easily learn SAP CRM.

Most importantly we need the website to be able to link into our SAP CRM. The only simliar products i was able to find was CoreMedia and Sybit. Do you guys recommend any kind of a CMS?

(Expand/click on technical information -> click on building block library)
    1. B03 - General Settings for BW Integration

    3. BS4 - Basic Configuration for CRM Analytics
    4. B72 - Leads Analysis
