  • DVCPRO HD Frame rate converter not working

    Hello all
I cant seem to get my frame rate converter to work. I shot the footage on my hvx200 at 720p30 and then put it in film mode and changed the frame rate to 60. Then I log and transfered it into FCP and when i go to convert it i keep getting the same message.
    www.okayyellow.com/errormessage.png
does anyone know why? I have gotten some footage to convert before with no problems.
    Thanks

All worked well last time I did this (late March), but upgraded to Leopard since then and brought all FCStudio apps up to date at the same time.
Looks like on import (log/transfer in FCP from Firestore) somehow the files are being flagged as having 'temporal compression', which can't be true if they're DVCPRO-HD, can it? Anyway the 'temporal compression' seems to be blocking the conform in CT, as well as the DFCPRO FRC in FCP.
So I tried importing the files from the Firestore thru an older version of FCP (5.1.4) that I have on my PowerBook (the problems described above are on my Mac Pro). I then copied these files out of the capture folder over to the Mac Pro, and sure enough: no problems with 'temporal compression'. The files were all marked as "maximum quality" and were allowed to be conformed from 60 to 24 in CTools, and have dupl frames removed using the FRC as needed.
So something appears to be broken with FCP 6.0.3 and how it imported this particular set of files on the Firestore.
I should note that if I hadn't tried to conform or FRC these files, I might never have noticed that there was a problem - they behaved as normal 720/60 files when just viewing them.

  • Converter not working correctly

I have been using PDF converter for a while now with no problems, but when I tried to convert a PDF file today, it is not working properly. The formatting is all mucked up and the letters are in 5 different types of font/size.
I have uninstalled & reinstalled Reader but it has not helped fix the problem.
Sorry, but I am paying for this service, and it is not working.
It was working great, what has happened? Please help.

  • Dng Converter not working in Bridge

    Hi
I have CS3 and have already downloaded the latest version of the DNG converter.  When I use the Converter as a separate application, it works fine to convert my RAW files to DNG files.  Recently I discovered the process in Bridge called "Get Photos from Camera" where I can process many steps with one click.  Unfortunately, the part where it is suppose to convert my RAW to DNG files isn't working.  Any ideas why?  Some background info, I recently upgraded from Vista 64bit to Windows 7 64bit.  I uninstalled PS CS3 and then installed it back, and it's working fine except for this one little step.  Do I need to install the DNG converter again, but designate it to put loaded into a different folder so that Bridge recognizes it ?  Would appreciate any support or feedback.  Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.

The camera I am using is the Canon 5D MkII.  Raw images from this camera can not be read by my version of Camera Raw V.4.6.  The readable version for CR V4.6 is DNG Converter V5.5.  This is all for my PS CS3.
I discovered this Bridge process in a Scott Kelby Book, for CS3, called "Get Photos for Camera".  He specifically goes thru each step, and the second step is the DNG Conversion process.  It worked for him.  It should work for me.
Ah, but did he do it for images from a 2009 camera with a 2007 version of PS?

  • Latest DNG converter not working in command-line mode

Today I downloaded Adobe's latest DNG converter. It is failing with both .NEF and .CR2 files when run in command-line mode. It does appear to work in GUI mode. The switches+arguments I've used for my tests are:
    -u -e -p1 filename.CR2
    (or filename.NEF)
With an older (CS2) version of the converter, the above arguments produce a .DNG output file as expected (with .CR2 files; I didn't try it with D3 .NEF files; surely that older version doesn't support the D3's format).
With the very latest version, running the program with the above command produces no output. There's no error message.
The 'readme' file that comes with the converter doesn't include any information about command-line usage, but I did find a PDF file covering this (adobe.com/products/dng/pdfs/dng_commandline.pdf). The switches+arguments shown in the PDF file appear to be exactly the ones I used in the past.
I'm sure I'll need to use the most recent version to convert D3 RAW files. Is there something wrong with how I'm specifying its command-line switches/arguments?

It struck me silly that I've been running tests with v.3.3 when 5.2 is the latest, so I downloaded it. The setup "wizard"...hmm, why is it a "wizard"? It provides no choice of installation path. I didn't realize this because immediately after I'd launched it, I knocked something onto the floor, reached down to pick it up ... and looked back up just in time to see the "wizard" complete the installation...but where, I didn't know. It didn't display any information about where it had installed the app. Adventures In Discoverability. :) I hunted around on the hard drive until I found it (C:\Program Files\Adobe -- well, at least you can launch it if you think to look for it in the 'Start' menu). So ... that needs a bit of work. Anyway, I copied the app into a directory of my choice -- one that's in my system's %PATH%, replacing spaces in the name with underscores. It works fine in that directory -- no problem with the name-change as far as I can tell. Now back to the fun stuff...
This version doesn't seem to require a fully qualified path to the input file or to the output directory when "-d" is used. That's an improvement. IOW, this worked:
    converter -p1 -d DNG filename
where "converter" is the program's name, "DNG" is the name of a subdirectory of the directory where I'm running the test, and "filename" is the name of a RAW file in that directory.
The program still doesn't know how to create a directory (or ask about creating one if it doesn't exist). Fails silently if "-d" is used and the specified directory doesn't exist. But at least this version returns an exit code of 1 due to the failure -- better than returning 0.
Still doesn't understand wildcards. Hope done sprang eternal there for a moment, but oh well. Back to "for" loops...
Still fails silently, returning exit code 0 (oops), if a nonsensical command-line is used (e.g., using "-c" as the only argument).
Hey, how about a truly silly command-line error -- a command line including both "-c" and "-u". What happens? It "consumes" the first of the two mutually exclusive switches, ignoring the second -- you get a compressed DNG file. Swap the order of the switches, and you get an uncompressed file. (I'd vote for a syntax-error message in that case, m'self.)
Interestingly strange little program...If I run it from the command line, it drops back to the command line immediately after I press ENTER. That makes it appear to have failed. But it hasn't -- it's running in the background, and a few seconds later the DNG file is created. But, if I run it from within a batch file, it does NOT return control to me until it has completed writing the output file. Wonder what's up with that.
    Fun stuff. :)

  • Dvi to vga converter not working anywhere

Hi guys, recently my lcd screen went completely black, the macbook pro (from 2007) still turns on and still makes sounds, but the screen is completely black. i need to save important info so i used the dvi to vga adapter (not the mini one but the one i got with it in 07) and i tried it on 2 old moniters, and 2 new lcd monitors. none of them work, i am very concerned. the 2 moniters just stayed black, and the 2 lcds said "no signal, going to sleep". guys what's going on, please help me

do you still hear the chime? try the smc reset - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
    & the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
if your screen is still black, then your video card has likely failed, so you won't see a display at all.
to recover data, boot the machine holding T. once it chimes, hold it for about a minute or so. now plug the mac into another via firewire cable. if it's another intel mac, you should be able to boot from yours, restart the 2nd mac holding OPTION, select your drive when it's listed & press return. you should then be able to reover files, export contacts, bookmarks, etc. to another drive or to DVDs.

  • DNG Converter not working

I have CS4 and just bought a D7000, realised it won't convert the RAW images to DNG.  I have downloaded the latest converter but it is not seeing the images on the SD card or from a folder on the laptop.  Have downloaded several times.

  • Crystal Converter not working

    Hi All,
Using 8.8 SP01 PL12 and when trying to convert any standard SAP PLD layouts to crystal using the crystal converter it gives the error - Conversion failed. Try again.
Issue is reproducible on SAP UK demo databases.
Is there a fix from SAP for this?
    Many Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi,
I am afraid that this issue is bugs of the converter.
Have you read the pdf file How_to_Work_with_Crystal_Converter_in_SAP_Business_One_8.8_PL08_and_Above ? if you can't find the solution  there, it is time search the solution in SAP note. if it is available, log a message to SAP support.
Probably there will be an upgrade for the converter in the sap portal or sap note about the issue you are facing.
    Rgds,

  • 2G shuffle autofill with convert not working

Since updating to iTunes 7.5 I've been unable to sync (autofill with convert to 128 kbps). It begins syncing but repeatedly goes back to the beginning and resyncs. It's been going three days straight without making it through. I'm running Vista and the songs in question are either mp3 high bitrate or alac. This worked just fine (taking a couple of hours due to the bitrate conversion) up until I upgraded itunes to 7.5

    HI,
Since the upgrade to Snow Leopard, I have lost the ability to have Usernames & Passwords Autofilled(?) for some sites which formerly allowed this function.
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences and select the Autofill tab. Make sure: User names and passwords is selected.

  • PDF converter not working still

I am ready to ask for my money back. I purchased the PDF converter and it continues to tell me that I have no more "free trial conversions left". The problem was resolved once and it let me convert one file and now it is back to the same problem.
I was told it was a bug and they were working it out but that was over a week ago. Help!!!!

How are you trying to access the ExportPDF service?
Are you using the web interface (http://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html)?
Or are you using Adobe Reader?
I show a paid subscription associated with your [email protected] Adobe ID.  Make sure you're logging into the service with that Adobe ID.

  • IPhoto 9.6 not loading after Yosemite, Library Converter not working

So did the Yosemite upgrade on my old iMac that was running Mountain Lion (skipped Mavericks on this one) and had the similar problem opening iPhoto that everyone else was having. Tried to upgrade it through the App store, and it still gave me the "iPhoto cannot be opened" problem, so I deleted iPhoto and reinstalled from App Store. Now, it's telling me "to open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared" and links me to the iPhoto Library Upgrader application. I downloaded and installed that, and when I run it it tells me "you can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto".
So now I'm stuck in a loop and can't open iPhoto at all. I have backups of the photo library on Time Machine, but not sure at this point what my next step should be.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
