Generating a application rights report.

Hello everyone,
( I hope this is the right plase to put it)
There is a user in our company that has to be able to view which users have
the right to acces which software packages. But, we dont want to give this
user acces to Console One or NWADMIN (because of the risks). Ive tried to
display the rights with the NLIST program, but it doesn't seem to work with
Applications.
Are there simple/free programs that can generate such report? (the software
packages are divided amongst several OU's)
If not, is there a simple way to give that user acces to console one /
nwadmin without acces to all the features?
Hopefully you can help me with this problem!

I see this sort of error notice in Bridge and Photoshop, preceded by the message " Photoshop (or Bridge) has encountered a problem and must close. Tell MS.
Yes or No."
It most frequently happens in PS when running Dfine 2.0. I have no clue what triggers the Bridge closure. It happens randomly.
CS3, so nobody gives a tinkers dam, I suppose.
I see this kind of message in software testing on a regular basis. Of course, when the test is under way, the software is generating a detailed log file which we package up as part of a bug report. Then at the bug scrubs, lively discussions ensue as to who has to fix what!
I can only image what would happen if the Dfine people and the PS people had to sit through one of those!

Software Applications Deleted Report

Seeing the applications installed report generating data, but I'm not getting any data from Software Applications Deleted Custom Inventory report and I have uninstalled apps through Zen. Any ideas on if this report is working for anyone and if so, any clues?

Generate a new pdf report with itens on my pdf form

Hi! My name is Heitor.
I have Adobe Forms Central and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed on my machine.
I would like to know if its possible to make a pdf report.
Example: Clicking in a button "print" on my already open and filled pdf form, and gathering all my 30 itens (see that i am only showing 5 itens on my form. but on my form exists a "Add" button to add itens on variables) on a dropdown list and generating a new pdf report with all these itens listed.

You could open the report with the SQL Report Builder. In Report Builder you can find where the data from and the data structure.

No Data to display in Application failure report for a specific Application

Hi ,
For a specific application,Application failure report showing no data to display but for the same application other reports shows value.
Application failure reports seems to work fine for some other application except few.Need to know the root cause.
Kindly help us to sort this issue.

Is there any error message when you run Application Failure Analysis report for the specific application?
Does this application have any failure alerts?
You may also look into operation manager even logs to check is there any errors or warnings.

Using Designer to generate Web Applications

I'm using Designer R1.3 to generate Web applications but example in a textfield i need make a validation how ca i do this using designer without make this using schema manager to correct by hands line by line

You can certainly do this with JWS. You will have to request full access permissions to the user's machine because you will need to start the web server (& maybe DB server) from your JWS application. Do this with:

That means you'll have to get a certificate for your server.
In terms of resources - When you start resin, seems to me that all you should need to do is include all of the jars that resin needs in the command line classpath variable. To get access to this information, this code by Masahiro Takatsuka was very useful for me:

We did something similar to what you are doing - we ran Apache's Xindice XML DB from the JWS client. (We have since ditched Xindice because of performance issues, but launching it worked fine from JWS)

Unable to Generate JHeadStart Application in Jdeveloper 10.1.3

Hi,
I migrated forms 6i to web JHeadStart 10.1.2 with JDeveloper 10.1.2,without any problems but when i Opened the same project in JDeveloper 10.1.3 to Generate JHeadStart Application the version
of JDeveloper 10.1.3 was unable to open this project.
I tried do update
JDeveloper 10.1.3 with the Service
Update 2 but still there was no option under TOOLS->PREFERENCES for generating the JHeadStart Application which is present in JDeveloper 10.1.2.
Any suggestion would be a great help..

JNDI error while generating pdf from crystal reports in java

Hi, i want to generate PDF from crystal reports in java. I have the .PDF file with database configured into the report. Following details are available in report.
1. Server Name      = testdb
2. Database Name = testdb
3. User
4. Password
I am using CR XI.
In CRConfig.xml i had given following details.

Actually, the question boils down to; does the framework support the fonts?
I believe that my question re. this working in the designer was valid. The designer does not use the framework, so if it works there, it is either a framework issue or a runtime print engine issue.
I believe if you use the code below, it will list fonts available to the framework:

Application Server Report Path

Dear Oracle Gurus
I am new to this area of expertise. We have a peculiar problem. Let me try to explain this
We are running Oracle Appication server in Windows based environment( windows server 2003 i presume)
we have multiple projects running in this server. Two of our projects are almost similar and identitcal. They share the same name for forms and reports but the content will be different.
The problem is when we execute a call to a report from our application, the report with the same name from other project gets executed.
I discussed this with our Hardware and network engineers. They said that the path to find the reports is specified in the windows registry file where it is specified that the folder of the other project is given first and then our project folder is specified next.
Tempororily , they put our project folder's name first.
I beileve that there should be some other better and permanant solution for this

Hi ssr,
the best way is to create two or more report server with different names. For each report server you can define a sourceDir and tempDir. You must enter the values of the sourceDir and tempDir in the*.conf File from the reportserver. You will find the *.conf-File in the following directory: $ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf The name of the file is <reportservername>.conf. It is a XML-File. IN Line 15 or 16 you find the Part for the sourceDir and tempDir. After that you must restart the report server.
Call from Forms:
Wenn you call the application you use a "?config=..." part in the formsweb.cfg. Then you must use two diferent *.env-Files. In each *.env-File you add a new environment parameter. Excample REPORTSERVERNAME=.... In your Forms application you can read this parameter with TOOL_ENV.getvar('REPORTSERVERNAME', l_name); And than you can controll wich application use wich reportserver. In our enviroment it works fine.

Application Usage Report Blank - ARD 3.8

We are trying to run an Application Usage Report on one of our clients. We are using both 3.8 Admin and Client.
It will run the report but the output is simply blank.
Has anyone seen this before? Any advice. Tried it on several clients and same issue each time.

Hi all - I'm suffering from similar ARD/VNC/ScreenSharing problems, too - in this case however Yosemite to Yosemite!
Client computer:
     Laptop: MacBook Pro
     Yosemite 10.10.2
     ARD 3.8.3
Remote Computer:
     Desktop: MacMini
     Yosemite 10.10.3
     ARD 3.8.3
I cannot connect to my remote machine (to control or just view it), neither with ARD nor with VNC.
It does not work with Remote Management enabled nor Screen Sharing.
Attempting a connection reports - after a while - the error "Connection failed ... Please make sure that Screen Sharing ... is enabled" (but it is enabled!)
In the log on the client machine the following entry appears:
Screen Sharing: SSSessionView.m:1815:-[SSSessionView ssSession:connectDidFail:]: Communications error
In the log on the remote machine the following entry appears:
com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.apple.screensharing[692]) Endpoint has been activated through legacy launch(3) APIs. Please switch to XPC or bootstrap_check_in(): com.apple.screensharing.server
Note, however that other functions work:
- On my Laptop ARD reports that the remote computer is available and displays the user and the current application correctly
- A connection does seem to be established between the client and the remote machine, because I can send a "Message to the Administrator" from the remote machine back to the client machine, which is correctly displayed on the client machine.

I am invoking RS web services to render reports, using Apache Axis to generate stub classes from Reporting Service WSDL.
Please let me know if I can integrate Report Viewer control in the jsp where I am writing the report output. Else do I have to create my own custom tags simulating ReportViewer functionality.
