Get Type of Step by activex

Hi guys,
I want to get the Type of the Step by activex. I have the name but in case of a Statement Step the name can be changed.
If I get the Field Type that we can found on the tab Properties, General I will be able to get information I want following the Step Type.

Most objects in TestStand inherit from the PropertyObject class. The PropertyObject class has a property called Name. In my statement I return the StepType object by using Step.StepType. Then I use the Name property to get the name of that object. NOTthe name of the Step. If I used Step.Name then you would be correct in assuming that the name will change and can be anything.
And ultimately you will most likely be using something like: RunState.Sequence.Main[Some Index or Step Name].StepType.Name. Or if you are in an engine callback you would use something like: Parameters.Step.StepType.Name. Or if you are iterating through the sequence in an external code module it would depend on how you are getting the steps.

An error occured while creating the new dataset Could not get type informat

Uses: Windows XP Pro SP3+; OracleXE; Oracle 8i Client; ODP.NET; Visual Studio 2005 PRO;
I had OracleXE and was using OracleXE's Oracle.DataAccess Version 10.2.0.100 which was located in C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN. Then to use Oracle Developer Tools for VS, I installed ODAC where the Oracle.DataAccess's version was 2.111.6.20.
Everything connected via SqlPlus and even was able to Oracle XE Home page and was able to loginto it. Further, was even able to create connection with Oracle Dot Net Provider. The problem was created when I tried to create a datasource from DataSource Menu in VS.2005. It was giving an error saying "An error occured while creating the new dataset Could not get type information for dataset". However I wittnessed that Dataset is been created in Solutions Explorer but not in Data Source Tab. Further researching I was able to create Datasets with Microsofts Oracle Data provider with out any issue.
My Path variable list the following:

"Unable to install or run the application. The application requires that assembly Oracle.DataAcces version be installed in Global Assembly Cache First."
Is it due to change in the production machine? Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Which enhancement package are you on currently? This is observed in cases where originals in DIR's are invisible and sometimes error message 26296 occurs in transaction CV01n. Hence,please check your entries in the table SDOKPROP to avoid such a problem in your system.

Getting Type Mismatch Error while passing Array of Interfaces from C#(VSTO) to VBA through IDispatch interface

I am facing issues like Type Mismatch while passing Array of interfaces from .NET to VBA and vice versa using VSTO technology.
My requirement is that ComInterfaceType needs to be InterfaceIsIDispatch.
My Interface definition is somewhat like this

TS4062 HELP!!! When I try to sync my iPhone with iTunes it gets stuck at step 2 and goes no further. I have iTunes 10.6.3.25. It happens all the time. I have Windows 7.

What is the difference between single step and two step movement type in Stock Transport Order? What is its significance?
My understanding in case of stock to stock and plant to plant material movements in Inventory management:
If we use single step, once the goods are issued at the issuing plant stocks are updated immediately both at the issuing plant (reduced) and receiving plant (increased).
In case of two steps,
Stock to stock material will be in <u>stock in transfer</u> for receiving plant once the goods are issued at issuing plant
Plant to plant Material will be in <u>stock in transit</u> for receiving plant once the goods are issued at issuing plant.
Is this the same concept in STO?

What is the significance of Movement type 1-step in Scheudle line category?

Get Digit String Step on UCCX 8.0.2

Hello,
I'm using the "Get Digit String" step to prompt callers for their account number. I am using this step to collect account numbers from Spanish speaking callers. I have created a spanish prompt asking the callers for their account number and am playing that when the call enters the "Get Digit String" step. I have also configured the "Timeout" and "Unsuccessful" steps to also play Spanish prompts before sending the call to the next step in the strip. The problem that I'm having is that if I don't enter a number, after the initial prompt, I hear a message, in English, that says "Are you still there" and then I'm prompted to enter my account number again. How do I change the "Are you still there" message to a Spanish message? Can this even be done?

If you modify the system prompt, chances are in the future an upgrade can overwrite your recording. What you should do is set your retry and timeout counts to 0, put an increment node and increment an int variable, and use an if statement to check the index of that int to see how many times you retied. Within the timeout and and unsuccessful node put an audio file there to represent each message.

In Function module...... Under changing tab, give the parameter name and type enter associated type any.... You would get that same in the source code and also choose Optional check box.....

i tried it on a G5 : perfect
on an intel machine the file type is reversed : JPEG becomes GEPJ, AIFF becomes FFIA

Please excuse me for not fully understanding the distinction you are drawing here. I think you are saying that INDEPENDENTLY FILES HAVE:
a). a type
b). an extension
These are somehow correlated in Windows. When I remove the .jpg extension from a file name indeed I see the "blank icon" and right clicking the icon to expose the properties shows that it has file type "File" where it used to be "JPEG image." When I use the Get Type and Creator.vi I still see ????.
I would like to understand exactly the distinction you are drawing, and exactly how to see the problem you are reporting. Please be so kind as to dictate a very specific list of instructions with which this can be reproduced. If it requires using commands in the command line, please specify exact syntax so that isn't a hurdle in and of itself.

PS - Another idea just hit me - is it possible that you have the folder options item "hide known file extensions" checked? I think this is default in XP, and perhaps you are simply not seeing the extension of your jpg files since windows is hiding them. If that's the case, but you DO see extension, your file names may actually be something like myFile.jpg.jpg, where the trailing .jpg are just being hidden from you. It sounds like you're familiar with how windows distinguishes file types and extensions, but I thought I would at least throw that out there, since it is a bit subtle.

Rapidinstall getting struck in Step 3 of 5

Hi All
When I try to install Oracle Applications 11.5.9 on Windows 2003 with Oracle as user, the Rapidinstall is getting struck in Step 3 of 5 while running the command adrundb.cmd. - g performing database charecterset conversion adsvdcnv.cmd
There is no error message or alert after this and its not moving forward.
What could be the problem?

Please verify the following:
- The user who is doing the installation is a member of Administrators(local user), not a member of GUEST or any other group.
- The server is not a domain host controller.
- You are doing the installation locally (not thru remote connection).
If the above is verified then do the following:
1) Comment out the following line in %ORACLE_HOME%\appsutil\template\ad8isqlnet.ora
sqlnet.authentication_services= (NTS)
2) Stop/Start the DB as well as the listener from Windows services
3) Run rapidwiz -restart
If the above does not work, then most probably your staging area is corrupted.

Subsequently most of my music and apps are missing from my iphone because it never finishes syncing. How do I fix this?

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Ignoring Keys in "Get Digit String" steps

I have a "Get Digit String" step to allow users to press '1' to bypass some announcements. The Prompt for this step is set to play the announcments. On the Input tab, I've set Maximum Retries = 0, so that I don't hear "Are you still there?" after the announcements play. On the Filter tab, I've set only the '1' key as a valid option. I've also set the Input Length = 1. What happens is that if any key other than '1' is pressed, then the Unsuccessful branch executes, and the announcements are terminated. But I only want the announcements terminated if the '1' is pressed. All other keys should just be ignored, and the announcements should continue playing.
Any ideas on how to get this done?

That's not possible for one simple reason. The script executes in a serial fashion. One step at a time.
What you are asking requires asynchronous activity.
In one instance you need to play a message, and in another you need to validate user input.
From what I can think of, your best solution is to eliminate the exclusivity of the number 1 and just allow any digit.
I did think of an alternate method, but it requires greater knowledge of CallManager an MOH sources.
Here's an example:
2 CTI Port Groups, 1 for the call to land on, and 1 for your to redirect to which has a special MOH source that plays messages to the caller.
Call comes in on port group 1
You process some info
You redirect the caller to the messages phone number in port group 2
Place Call Hold
Get Digit String (filter "1")
     Success
          Call Unhold
          Call Redirect somewhere else
     Failure
          Loop Get Digit Step
EDIT: Again, I want to stress that this method requires exceptional knowledge of CallManager's ability to handle MOH. There's a lot to consider on this one.

Had the same thing happen to me when I tried syncing my iPhone this a.m. - talked to Apple 7 hours ago and evidently there's an "issue" with the iTunes server. The Apple adviser told me to try syncing in an hour. Well, rather than do that, I've continued to check Twitter, searching on "itunes sync" or "itunes server" - seems the problem's still going on.
I'm going to wait it out til tomorrow. Or whenever.
The REASON I was synching is that ever since the iOS 5 "upgrade" photos that were in albums synced from iPhoto had disappeared. Not all the photos, just all the photos in some albums. Weird.
Too many bugs in iOS 5 (syncing, Bluetooth connectivity, etc.). They should have waited til it was right before releasing it.

On your Desktop, click [Start]>>[All Programs]>>[National Instruments]>>[NI 488.2]>>[NI 488.2 Help]. Now, under the "Contents" tab, click [Contents]>>[Multiple Device NI-488.2 Calls]. A list of multiple device function calls can now be referenced for help in performing your desired action within Visual Basic.
