Get URL of portal

Hello!
I have, seems like, simple question:
How to get url of portal ( http://mydomain:port /irj/portal/....), which see user?
(For example, portal server access by ip 10.18.0.1, but user in file 'hosts' have alias mydomain for this ip, accordingly have http://mydomain:port /irj/portal/... in address bar)

Actually thing is that we can not access portal with its IP address so we save its Ip address with host name in drivers and then access it with its host name
For eg if ur portal Ip Address is 10.18.0.1 and u have saved it with its Host name as hello and ur instance number of ur server is 01 then ur port numbre will be
Port Number = 50000+100*Instance number
Ie Port number will be 50100
and host name willll be hello
so whole URL to access ur portal will be
http://hello:50100/irj/porttal

Hi,
I managed to get ultrasearch running now. The crawling process seems to run smooth. Executing a search gives me the correct result. However, i can not display the documents that are listed in the resultpage.
The link to the document is like this:
http://myportal/pls/portal/display.jsp?type=file&f_url=C:\ultra_docs\sultan\filetransfer\htc\site.doc
The path in the url seems ok to me.
Cliking on this link gives me the following error:
The requested URL /pls/portal/display.jsp was not found on this server.
Please, help me out here :/

I just tested it by accessing the search page with the following url:
http://myportal/ultrasearch/query/search.jsp
This gives me the same result and the links to the actual documents work fine now too! But it is not working from within portal, the links generated by the ultrasearch portlet give me an error.
The requested URL /pls/portal/display.jsp was not found on this server.

Generate URL to Portal Objects in Web Dynpro

Hi All,
I have a requirement where in I have to generate a URL to portal objects such as iviews/pages from the PCD. I am able to retrieve the PCD contents but I am not able to generate the URL dynamically.
I cannot use WDPortalNavigation.absoluteNavigate method, since I need the URL of the object.
IUrlGenerator can be used, but it is asking for the IPortalComponentRequest object. Now where can I get this object in web dynpro.
Or is there a way to generate the URL of the iview/page dynamically in Web Dynpro. I have to use standard API only.
Please provide inputs on this.

where com.abc.xyz is the ID of the xyz iview/page

Get URL by PCD in WD ABAP

Hello friends,
I'm developing a web dynpro abap applcation. My problem is when i'm pressing on button that need to open
bw iview.I am using the method CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW from the interface IF_WD_WINDOW_MANAGER, now I need to send url as paramter.Is there any way to get url by pcd ( to get the url of bw iview )?
I'm doing it that way and not by calling NAVIGATE_ABSOLUTE method because when bw iview send me back paramters( with EPCM ) i want also to close it.

Hi Udi,
We had a similar requirement where we need to call a Transaction in portal with different values for its parameters.
Assuming that your BW iView will have NON-CHANGING Url path you can store that path in a abap table ( for multiple reports also) and then get the value when required.
If you need to pass any parameters with the URL you can concatenate it to the NON-CHANGING url part and send.

I have one doubt on How to Create diff URL in Portal. We have only one EP-Server.
For Example I have done logon page for portal when open the portal URL I m getting that logon page. So I did not get SAP Standard Logon Page By using Same URL.
So I need one more Diff URL that URL having my Logon page. So that time I login into the Portal I am able to see our logon Page.
When I logon to diff URL that time I am able to See SAP Standard Logon Page.

Hi,
SAP Logon page gets loaded based on similar concept of Servlet-jsp works i.e. based on pattern passed, in usual case irj is pattern which is identified by j2ee engine based on xml as portal web component and invokes it.
Now to have 2 different logon pages; we need to pass 2 different patterns: have an entry for each in xml file and different web components for each.
This is solely based on my cinceptual knowledge but have not tried it.

Is it possible to find out the link/URL of the portal applications (for example UME or GRC) from the ABAP system. We have a test system but need to know the URL. Please help

The URL for portal on ABAP+JAVA system follows the convention
http://<hostname>:5<xx>00/irj/portal ---> This links to portal
http://<hostname>:5<xx>00 -
> This links to default Page of java
On the default page you will get options to go to UME and other options.

I am Getting Error in Portal when Booking Time sheet in Record working time Link. Getting below Error.
"Enter activity type only in conjunction with cost center"...I have entered data in KP26.
But for the same employee if i am booking the Efforts through R/3 (CAT2 Transaction) not getting the error. Successfully able to release the efforts it is storing in CATSDB.
PLease advice on this.

The url is sometingh like this (this is correctly loaded, but it could be longer)

Firefox should have problems with long GET data appended to an URL (long would be over 64k).<br />
If there are problems then it is possible that an extension is the cause of that.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Get Url from a text box

I have read a couple posts in regards to the GEt URL function
but couldn't find what I'm looking for.
Trusting someone can help.
Here are two reference files
1- Main swf that loads the movie clip
with the links
Swf
that displays the links I'm opening in a new window
I'm able to open the url on a new window but couldn't find a
way to control the height of this window. Please note that the
links are all inside a text box. They are not separate buttons they
are just text hiperlinks.
Please let me know if any of you knows how to control the new
_blank window height.

Help with calling a Get URL

I am having a problem with calling a series of web pages
within my movie. I have an index.fla that I publish to html. Within
the index.html, I am calling multiple swf files to load content.
Home.swf loads when the index page displays. Then the user clicks
on any button and each button loads another swf replacing the main
content with perhaps loading it's own swf files of content also.
Everything is working fine. However, on one called swf file, called
students.swf, I also have a menu swf file that is called when
students loads. This menu swf file has text listed with
actionscripting calling a data file that causes the text to expand
and rollout and display a label of the url. When the user clicks on
the list name I have a get url to the url of the label. Everything
works fine in the swf files when I test the movies for the swf for
the menu file and for the student file swf. However, when I publish
and run the index page and start testing out the student swf that
is called, the menu will not open up a new browser window with the
link designated in the get url. I can't figure it out! It works
fine in the swf files, but not when I test it out through the index
controlling file. Please Help!!!

if you're using as2, try adding
this._lockroot=true;
to the movieclip that contains getURL, the student file
swf.

Get URL variable in customer exit

Hi,
does anybody know how to process a variable value in a customer exit which was filled by an URL parameter? I have created an iView which calls a webtemplate via URL "http://<SERVER>/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=ZTEST&var_name_1=MyVAR&var_operator_1=EQ&var_sign_2=I&var_value_low_ext_1=12345".
When I execute the iView the value "12345" is correctly transported and stored in variable "MyVAR" and the result is also filtered on this value.
Now I would like to modify the value in a customer exit but it seams as the entry is not not stored in table i_t_var_range. Any ideas how I might get access on the URL parameter value?

It must exist a solution because SAP kowns how to get URL filters in standard, but I don't kown how!
