Getting annoyed now....

Hi,
I have a 160Gb Apple Tv running 2.4 firmware.
Until recently this has sync'd fine with my MacBook using my wireless network, however I have recently purchased a movie direct from iTunes Store through the Apple TV and want now to sync it back to my MacBook.
Everytime I try this it gets maybe 5% if that and then iTunes on the Mac hangs completely, I get the spinning beach ball and have to Force Quit iTunes before I can do anything else.
So I tried to connect the Apple TV directly to the MacBook using an ethernet cable, but iTunes wont see it at all, let alone sync with it.
I reboot both, I've tried to setup internet sharing to allow the Apple TV to share the airport connection to the internet to help the Mac see it. I've since disabled sharing and now I'm getting nowhere.
In amongst all this I changed the Apple TV sync preferences in iTunes on the Mac and now I only have the 1 movie on Apple TV. All my other content is going, and can now only be watched on the Mac.
Can someone please help me to get these two issues resolved. Otherwise all I can think of is buying the movie again, deleting it from Apple TV and then trying to sync ALL my content back over. But this just defeats the object.

Try connecting your ATV to your router by Ethernet cable and see if that works. Remember to run the network setup in your ATV again after you connect it by Ethernet cable.

  • Error 13019 really getting annoyed now please help!

    I have an iPod touch 1st generation. I have the latest 3.0 update and I have the latest iTunes update. Yesterday my iPod was working fine. Now, every time I try to sync music, iTunes backs up my iPod but then gives me error 13019. I know what it means, but how do I get rid of it? I havent done anything to my ipod or iTunes that would give it an error. I havent updated anything so why would it give me errors? I have already tried resetting my computer and iPod. It says my iPod can't be synced. But I know it can because I can put movies, apps, and everything else on it. Just not music. Please help me with this. I am really getting annoyed with all my iPod problems now!!!

    there have been previous posts on the forum where the modulation has changed to 992.5 with the change in upload speed but with download still on adslmax level.  either getting mods involved or phoning sales and agreeing a new contract appear the solution to getting download upgraded

  • 'Incompatible Codec' Preventing Edit To Tape - Getting Annoyed Now!

    Okay, this should be a really simple procedure - I have a 30 second TV commercial to master from the timeline to a Digibeta A500 VTR. The project is set to Blackmagic PAL 10-bit, as is the timeline and the view output. The video card (Blackmagic Decklink HD) is providing the Digibeta with an audio/video muxed SDI feed and machine control via RS422. The output of the A500 shows the Blackmagic card is feeding it pictures from the timeline just fine. Here comes the problem - on opening Edit To Tape to do a master with frame-accurate timecode FCP insists that it cannot playout the timeline as the timeline settings and the output settings are different codecs... yet the entire process is simply uncompressed 10-bit PAL. FCP suggests I re-render in a new timeline with 'the correct codec' but this doesn't help. No one here or at my system supplier can figure out what's up with the thing, I don't fancy sending out a TX master crash-recorded with a 'guesstimated' timecode track but failing that I'm screwed...
    ...any suggestions which miniscule and forgotten setting might be causing this?

    Hiya - Sorry guys I should have made myself clearer. I have already been doing the drag of the timeline to the 'assemble' pop up in the ETT window and this was when the 'incompatible compression setting' error came up.
    I think I have got past this issue now - it seems that the 'Blackmagic PAL 10-bit' preset is actually 5:4 aspect ratio by default which is ever so slightly different to regular 4:3 the card itself is trying to output - strangely though I get realtime playback off the timeline with this default setup but not via ETT (which annoyingly insists on spending 10 minutes 'writing video' before every master I run off - is there a way to get it to save the video file it has written for ETT output?)
    It was only on the fourth attempt that I managed to get ETT to output both video and audio together - the first three attempts it only output the audio tracks. Bizarre? Lastly the timecode is off by one frame - i.e. the beginning frame of the commercial is coming in at 10:00:00:01. Could this be a dropped frame or do I need to change the pre-roll settings for ETT somewhere (can I do this?)

    ok so i have rung customer service and had 2 engineer visits. Luckily the 1st engineer visit was the same bloke who got my line upto 3648 so he sort of knew and was easy to explain to at least i thought all he did was move the drop line into a different room when he spoke to his bosses they advised him that i was getting 1.7 mb connection and that was normal for my line? Wrong normal was 3.4 which i was getting for months. So i complained to the bt guy and he said he knew how i felt cause of the drop. So he went away after that i called customer service to report the issue had not been sorted.
    Another engineer visit was booked this time for a broadband specialist who came over and said that my line was not earthed properly as he could tell through his tests so he did some work up the pole to and came down after an hour and said that he managed to get my speed back to 3 mb which i was kinda thinking i was happy with. So after the second engineer left my home after doing no tests on my test socket only up the pole i decided to check this with speedtester and see if the downstream had gone up. To my amazement it had not so once again i had to call customer service who told me that they were gonna do something to take the line noise out and get it a couple of DB down and that the work was completed this morn and it would improve my line quality. Im not stupid i have checked my hub stats everyday since this error and nothing has gone down if anything it has gone up so it seems no work has been done at this time???? Also i have rung concerning my bb hub light kept resetting itself i got told to test another hub which i didnt have one so i was told the only way bt would send me one is to sign another 1 year contract !!!!!! Which i did cause im stupid!!! Guess what wasnt the hub .Also i was told today by customer services that it would take 3 months to get fibre and maybe wait for that hahaha do you think im stupid i live in a rural area hence the **bleep** connection i aint getting fibre for at least 10 years. Now customer service has told me to monitor my speed for yet another 3 or 4 days and get back to them. My speed hasnt improved and i wont except anything lower than 3mb connection i was getting before. My connection is bad at the moment and i cant even test my speed on bt cause i get this message

    Can a mod look into this please as im starting to get angry about the whole thing there is an issue somewhere as my line speed has dropped alot and im not getting what i got before.customer service said they would ring me back on sat as they increase the ip profile by 250 but the downstream just inst there any more so i cant see how this will help.     Clean the bottom of your installer disk or get a new one from Apple.
    If the problem continues, you have a dirty lense in your Superdrive most likely.

    How do I get annoying AI "buy now" pop up to stop opening everytime I open or save a PDF?  It's been happening ever since I downloaded a free 30 day trial of the AI software (which has since expired).

    When you install files, files and data get written to various system elements on your machine such as your registry and other key places. 
    When you simply delete an installed file or folder, you are leaving behind all of these things.
    When you uninstall, these pieces are dealt with so that they no longer have an impact on the operation of your system.

  • I, am now getting annoyed with i-cloud. I had an express lane discussion with your support group earlier this morning after discovering that the cloud icon wasn't next to music in the left hand side bar.

    I, have spent considerable time trying to connect my i-pod touch wirelessly with no success untill I saw on the i-tunes store tab that my i-tunes match was not turned on. I clicked to turn it on and I was asked to add this computer which I have already done. I talked to the Apple support group and they talked me through the set up  through add this computer again! But sure enough it worked I had the cloud icon next to music in the left hand side bar and in the store tab i-tune match was turned on and everything seemed to be working.
    I, looked again less than half an hour later and i-tunes match was turned off again. I began to turn it on again and now I get asked to pay the i-cloud subscription. How is this resolved?

  • Firefox will not save my user name and password for one of my sites. How can I fix this problem. It is getting annoying having to reenter every time I check this site. Is there a solution.

    I had my user name and password saved for my library site. My grandson hit something and now the saved user name and password are gone. It asks me every time to enter it and it is getting annoying. How do I fix this. I want Firefox to remember these codes.

    You can create a bookmark with the JavaScript code via a right-click on the "Remember Password" link on the squarefree.com website and choose "Bookmark This Link" and select the "Bookmarks Toolbar" as the destination folder for easy access.

    You need to use the "Remember Password" bookmarklet before or after filling the name and password field on the website with the <u>login form</u>, but before submitting the login form by clicking a button on the web page.
    If the site is using autocomplete="off" then you see a number not equal to 0 (i.e. attributes were removed) in the pop-up alert from the bookmarklet and Firefox should offer to remember the name and password via a drop down dialog of the key icon that will appear on the location bar (Firefox 4+) or via an info bar at the top (Firefox 3).

  • Finder not working... I'm getting annoyed at Apple.

    Hi. Long time Apple Fan, 5 years now, heavy computer user for 15 years.
    I recently installed a Brother Fax/Scan/Copy machine on my iMac with Leopard. The software that comes with it gives me the option to scan into PDF in one small step. Easy. I love it. However, the software is weak in that it doesn't clearly show where the pdf's are by default saved. I've solved that problem for the Black and White scans, but for the color scans, because I do them so rarely, I've not taken the time to figure it out.
    So last night, I was scanning my Passport because I'm getting a new one soon. In the process, every time a scan completes, it opens the file in preview with the .pdf file and the default file-naming convention of CCI00001.pdf, CCI00002.pdf, and so on sequentially. Well, thinking I could easily find the files later, I just closed the Preview window thinking I'd open them later.
    Well, the only way I can find these files is under the 'File>Open Recent' in Preview. Problem is, I've opened a few files with Preview since these scans, so I think, I'll just go to finder and type in the file name. Well, Finder can't find them. The ONLY way I can get to the files is through 'Open Recent' in Preview. However, some of them are no longer recent, so 'poof' they've disappeared. So I thought, well, let me click 'save as' in Preview and that would open the folder they are in. Well, it did, but it opened it in a finder window that is not the usual finder window. I.e., I can't navigate away from the folder that the 'Save as' function in Preview opens. Well, I can, but it doesn't clearly show me where that folder is that it default opened. I use the drop down arrow to open the 'advanced' finder window or whatever, but there is no 'root structure' (for lack of a better comparison that you can find in Windows) the name of the folder happens to coincide with my 'user' folder, but it doesn't have the little 'user' icon that you normally see next to your user folder in finder. It's just a normal blue folder that happens to have the same name as my user folder. So, I thought, why don't I create a new folder with a peculiar name that I can search for in finder- I called it 'Baffle Me' ... keep in mind, this is within Preview, File>Save As...> not changing the directory that it defaults to even though it's the name of my home folder or whatever, and then adding a folder called 'Baffle Me'... I saved in that folder. Logic would conclude that I could do a search within Finder now for a folder called 'Baffle Me' and wala- I'd find the folder where all my .PDF scans are. Nada. I thought, well maybe OSX needs to take time to scan it again- I'll come back tomorrow. So I did. Nada. I'm at a lost here. How can a file be on my computer and Finder not find it??
    Can someone tell me how to find these scans? Did they get thrown out because I just closed the Preview window instead of saving them and they were in some sort of 'temp' directory? That doesn't make sense though, because I can still go back in 'File>Open Recent...> in Preview and find them. I'm at a loss here, and I'm really getting annoyed.

    Command click on the filename on the preview window and it will give you the path to the file... That is also a live path, so if you click on the folder that the file is in you will be taken to where the file is. Or click on the Sidebar button on the preview window and click on the gear/wheel on the bottom and select sort by path. It will then show the path under the file name...
    You should also play with spotlight to see if you can figure out why it was not working for you. I was able to find pdf's by name as well as text within them... It should've found them really easy with the file names.

    Click on the hard drive icon in the sidebar and you see the 'root structure'. The mac layout is no different than Windows...

    There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
    You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
    Back up all data before making any changes.
    One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
    If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
    Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
    Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
    In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
    Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
              Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
              Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • Jerky playback of movies, Im getting desperate now, help !!

    I have recently purchased a Sanyo Xacti digital camera which records onto an SD card in MPEG 4 format, the camera came supplied with Quick time to view the movies on.
    I installed it and everything worked fine. I looked at the option of going PRO with the software because of the editing and file conversion facilities it offered, the £19.99 fee seemed reasonable also, so I did, during this quick time upgraded the player to the current version 7.1 also, since doing this my movies do not play back properly, the quality is grainy on some parts and the footage is choppy and laggy. I am really annoyed now as I expected to gain some useful features, not loose the one thing this player was intended for!!
    I have searched through the forums for any clues and tried do some suggestions, i.e. running in safe mode, uninstalling QuickTime and reinstalling off the CD that came with my camera and I have upgraded my graphics drivers as well.
    The thing is I downloaded the free VLC media player and that plays fine, the same movies also play ok on my editing software that came with the camera.
    I spent half an hour on hold to apples Technical help line then got cut off! nice service eh and its cost £20 for this pleasue with no way of getting a refund or any help on the matter!! so it seems?

    I have done all the memory upgrades, external (new 1TB:Mac OS Extended (Journaled) / internal: Capacity: 233 GB Available 90GB) moving new project onto 1TB drive and making more room on the internal drive too. Skipping/jerky playback still occurs.
    I copied a small section, placing in & out points on a few seconds of the project. I stopped at that point because I couldn't figure how to move to the internal HD. (My brain has been on overdrive and dropping memory rapidly ~ another support topic.) Please tell me how to move the clip to the internal drive.
    I did play another completed project, that had no previous problem. It did skip when the player was over the titles/transitions.
    I thought of copying the project and starting w/new titles & transitions to see if there was some corruption problem, until I played the 2nd project and had the same result.

  • 3 Issues - Getting annoyed with 4s

    Anyone having these issues. 
    1) The circle icon rather than the 3G symbol next to the bars.  Happens all the time and I'm in a good coverage area. 
    2) Searching for coverage and then comes up with No Service.  I landed in both Denver and Boston and turned on the phone and got No Service while people with AT&T went right to 3G.  Now I know the coverage with Verizon is better in both areas.
    3) This just happened this morning.  Phone showed that is was fully charged but only read 93%.  Had been on the charger overnight.
    I did the lastest OTA update but getting annoyed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Your 3G issue might be related to the issue that was going on before the 4S was released...there is a 50+ page thread on it. For the most part though it seems that iOS 5 "fixed" the problem for most. Try the usual (reset/restart/restore) to see if it helps. Also, try calling *228 and choosing option 2, especially after traveling to a different area so that the PRL can update. This may or may not help but it is one of the first things that tech support at VZW will attempt to do in order to fix things. I assume that you updated to the latest iOS update (5.0.1) and have the carrier update 11.2 (I assume that's what you meant by the latest OTA update?)...if not update to the latest iOS update and see if that helps. You haven't mentioned if you have contacted VZW at all to see what the issue may be...as frustrating as contacting VZW may be you really need to do so if none of the above resolves the issue so that you can have a record of attempting to have tech support done. If you can, you might prefer to go to a local VZW store rather than call in. You can also try visiting an Apple store if one is available to see if they can offer any help or determine if there is an issue with the device, but if the problem is a VZW issue then Apple won't be able to do much.

    Due to prolonged illness, I purchased the Logic Studio Upgrade version (I already had Logic Pro 7.2.3, with dongle) only last week. Logic Studio Upgrade version initially installs Logic Pro version 8.0.0. I then dutifully set out to download both the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update and the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update.
    As of this week, all attempts and maneuvers to simply get the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update have failed. I cannot even find it, let alone download it!
    Yes, I've tried the relabeling juggling act to fool Software Update into eventually listing and providing both the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update and the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update—but no luck, not any longer. These moves may have worked up until relatively recently, but they do not work now, at least as of this week.
    All searching of Apple's site(s) and Support pages results in nada—Apple itself no longer lists any such file/dmg/download/update anywhere! All previous links are either dead or just dump one back on to the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update page.
    (In my many searches, I noted what seemed to me to be a majority of opinion that the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update was a dog, especially in Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2 or 10.5.3. Many users reported crashes, panics, and.or freezes. Is this why Apple has pulled the update and rendered it extinct?)
    I Googled, I Asked Why, I Cuiled—but no Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update, except as that which lurked in the murky warez waters. Still, frustrated as I was, I did even try all such I could find . . . but no third party-hosted update worked at all.
    I am concerned because in all my previous experience with Apple and its applications, ample information is made readily available about the contents of any update and an explanation of its relationship to previous updates. By this latter I mean: Apple indicates that update "x" incorporates the previous updates "u" and "v"; therefore one can proceed safely to install update "x" even if one missed updates "u" and "v" or for whatever reason did not install them.
    So . . . do I need Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update, if I am then going to further update with the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update? Does Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update incorporate the changes made in Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update? Will I be missing (critically?) something(s) in Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update if I in fact do not ever get it or install it? And how would I know? Apple has not only removed the update and all traces of it, but Apple has also removed all information about Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update—it is now literally as if it never existed.
    So what's a po' boy to do? Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update cannot now be found on VersionTracker or MacUpdate or anywhere else. To date, no user group or organization or educational institution or program or audio-related company posted it or archived it.
    Where/how can I get a copy of the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update?
    If I can't, what do I do?
    If I can't, what do I miss?
    And where is Apple's support for Logic Studio/Logic Pro in all of this?

    thanks.  your answer was correct, clearer.  I have another question, maybe you can answer.  I just purchase my ipad2 2 days ago.  yesterday, there was a sound.  today there is no sound.  there is a sound only in movies and you tube and music.  but no sound on all apps and keyboards.  I look it up and seems like ther are few that have this problem.  I called walmart coz I bought it there and they told me that they have not heard that before but if I can't fix it, just return it and exchange it with anew one since I have 14 days to do that.  I tried rebooting it and still won't work.  Should I just restore it?

    First turn off auto-renewing subscriptions:
    iTunes Store: Purchasing and managing auto-renewing subscriptions
    Getting a refund won't be as simple. For that you will have to contact iTunes Store Support.
