Getting properties used to create existing connection

I am a bit stumped trying to figure out how to interrogate an existing java.sql.Connection to see what properties were used to create the connection. If a properties file with name/value pair was used to create the connection I need to find out what value was used for a given property. So far I have been able to get a DriverPropertyInfo array from the driveManager but this only lists the default values, not those I actually used.
We are having performance issues and I need to analyze connections to verify they were created using the correct properties.
Thanks in advance for any assisstance.

Have you looked at the getMetaData() method?
It has a good bit of information, and maybe it will have whatever property you are looking for.

Getting "program used to creat ethis object is AcroExch. That program is not installed on your computer." when trying to open PDFs embedded in Word.  Some work and some give me the error message above.
I am on Acrobat Standard 10.1.7 and Word 2007, on Windows 7.
Anyone have any fixes that might resolve this issue?

There is a comment in http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/119912-adobe-10-update-acroexch-error-now-occurring that provides the following information:
Disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader X
    1. Open Adobe Reader X.
2.From Edit menu select Preferences, Preferences dialog box appears.
3.Select General category on the list, uncheck or remove tick mark for “Enable protected mode at startup”
Adobe Reader’s Protected Mode will be turned off.
Though it is for Reader, I assume it should do the job for Acrobat also.

  • Creating JCo connections while using Developer workplace

    Hi All,
Before using Developer workplace, I used to create JCo connections in the Web Dynpro Content administrator of the corresponding portal. We have Developer workplace set up over here. The application runs on the J2EE engine of the Developer workplace but where does it get deployed ??
I asked the person who set up the developer workplace over here and he says the workplace does not point to any portal. Any idea ???
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi tom,
Webdynpro all application deployed to webdynpro container ia part of j2ee engine. To create JCO Destination first of all you have to set up SLD.
    SLD Configuration:

    Hi,
I was trying to create a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity. I am using Eclipse3.4 download from "cr4e-all-in-one-win_2.0.2.zip".  I have successfully created a JDBC OCI connection.
The connection parameters are given below:
    URL: jdbc:oracle:oci8:@xe
    Database: xe
    username: <userName>
    password: <password>
I have tested the above connection in Data source Explorer and it works fine!!!
But I am getting the following error when I drag-and-drop a table from the list of tables. Not sure what I am missing here?  Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi Ted,
Thanks for the feedback. I was able to create a report in Creystal Reports Designer 2008 using OCI.  It is not allowing only in the Eclipse plugin. In our environment we are not allowed to user Oracle thin connections and ONLY OCI is allowed.
    1) Can you please let me know if there is a way to do this?
    2) Will it allow data sources using native database driver?
    3) If so, can I use JRC to create these reports from a desktop java program?
    Thanks & Regards

Can anybody help me out as to why I am getting such result while everything is right from my side. Is the program unable to connect to the database or it is not supporting the JDBC version that I am using.
    Thanks in advance

I've seen cases where NOT using the ResourceParams section, and instead using attributes in the Resource section will fix this. Don't know why.
    i.e.
    Instead of using:
    <parameter>
    <name>driverClassName</name>
    <value>org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver</value>
</parameter>use the driver attribute of the Resource tag:
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB"
    auth="Container"
    type="javax.sql.DataSource"
driver="org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"/>Also note...I don't use the org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver class (which is in the distribution), I use com.mysql.jdbc.Driver. Any reason you don't? This could be part of it. I don't really know.

I just wanted you to verify the path where you have pasted JAR file. As you mentioned
    Path 1:

but as per doc it should be under:

  • CR closes when using "create new connection"

    Hi,
    Crystal Reports 2008.
After opening a CR 10 report once, I can't create new blank reports. If I use "create new connection" to add a data source the program shuts down. No crash dump or anything.
Helpdesk could reproduce error but couldn't solve the problem.
To re-install my system after format costs a lot of time (and therefore money). So I want to try to solve my problem first by my self.
Question: does freeware software exist to trace the behavior of an EXE file?
I'd like to figure out where it goes wrong.
Manually removing CR and reinstalling didn't help either. Nothing helps. FP 1.7 installed. Still the same problem..

Please re-post if this is still an issue or purchase a case and have a dedicated support
    engineer work with your directly.

  • Which interface to use to get the bleed parameters from existing document

    Hello,
I have an Indesign document having a page with the bleed parameters set and I have to create new pages with the same bleed values.
Which is the  interface that I should use to get the bleed values from existing page and set the same to the new pages.
I used a few interfaces given in API support doc, but I am not able to get the bleed values using them. I used GetBleedBox() of INewDocCmdData interface without success.
Can anybody tell me a proper way to use this interface to get the bleed values and then set those values or is there another more relevant interface?

  • VB: use an existing connection

    Hello, experts
We use Bex for reporting. It is necessary to call RFC ABAP function. Unfortunately function has to be called several times, therefore I am looking for possibility to catch an existing connection and assign it to my object instead of creating new one every time.
    The idea is following:
    Set oFunctions = CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
    Set oFunctions.Connection = Run("BExAnalyzer.xla!sapBEXgetConnection")
The problem is with connection assginment. System shows run-time error 61704 "Internal application err"
Ofcourse I could close connection and ask to logon each time user press the button.
