GetVariableData() usage with global-scope primitives (BPEL 2.0)

My composite has a global scope variable named "length" that is defined as an integer. When I attempt to access it at the same scope from an embedded Java using getVariableData() I get a funky error.
My variable definition is:
<variable name="length" type="xsd:integer"/>
And my embedded Java looks like this:
try {
int pwdLen = getVariableData("length");
}catch (Exception e) {
addAuditTrailEntry("Exception occured in length: " + e);
Can anyone see why this isn't working?

getVariableData() doesn't return int. The following works:
try {
int pwdLen = Integer.parseInt((String)getVariableData("length"));
}catch (Exception e) {
addAuditTrailEntry("Exception occured in length: " + e);

We are building a multi threaded server application. We have the need to use some constants (finals) across mutliple classes/threads. Is there a way to create a list of final vars with a global scope? We've considerd a class with static vars, but that would imply using the classname when using the vars. e.g. GlobalClass.VARNAME. We would like to use just VARNAME. Is there a way to do this?

Resolving session scoped component in global scope component.

I am implementing batch process and i am need to resolve session scoped component in global scoped component.
In global scope component (one of the component referred by my scheduler which also in global scope as usual) and i need to resolve session scoped "/atg/epub/workflow/WorkflowView" component in my scheduler.
I tried all possibilities but nothing worked out. I do not have access to current request, because its batch process. following ways i tried,
1. getResolveName("/atg/epub/workflow/WorkflowView") method of GenericService which is extended by my global scope component -- This returns null.
2. Tried to get the current request on ServletUtils to use resolveName() method on request.
ServletUtlis.getCurrentRequest() - This returns null as expected.
Is there any way to resolve session scoped component in global scope component. Thanks in advance.

If you want to resolve the name of a Nucleus component from Java code that is not itself a Nucleus service, you must first initialize Nucleus with this construct:
Nucleus.getGlobalNucleus().resolveName("target component")
where target component is the name of the component you are looking up. Note that this construct works only for components with global scope.
You can also resolve names of Nucleus components using the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI). The following example shows how you can use JNDI to access the Scheduler component:
String jndiName = "dynamo:/atg/dynamo/service/Scheduler";
Context ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext ();
Scheduler s = (Scheduler) ctx.lookup (jndiName);

Persisting variables to global scope (M spec's 'shared' keyword?)

Hi,
I wanted to declare multiple variables I'd like to reuse in a query, and be able to keep them in scope afterwards for use in other queries. The alternative of redeclaring them in each query separately would seem tedious, while individual queries can also
only return one variable each (be it a table/list).
I read in the M formula specification that it should be possible to global-scope a variable using the 'shared' keyword, though apparently this was only for use in the 'sections' part of the M specification unimplemented in Power Query itself. Am I missing
something? Might there be some other way to persist a variable to the shared (global) scope from within a query?

Thank you for the further clarification on sections; I didn't really know they are still kind of there in the background.
Reconsidering, I suppose my perceived issue isn't really so bad. I think what I wanted (using M functions from text files like an external library) is pretty well doable, so I've Github'd (https://github.com/tycho01/pquery) what I have for others to try;
perhaps that may help illustrate my use case a bit. I think I'm actually satisfied now, though I may as well explain better what I was trying.
What I'm imagining (as an analogy to my experience with Excel VBA) is basically having a larger library of user defined M functions to flesh out the built-in ones, with smaller functions for relatively basic tasks, and mid-level functions building upon those
and upon each other.
Considering the (current) effort in adding a bunch of functions to different workbooks, not to mention edit syncing concerns, keeping such all-purpose functions separate from individual workbooks (in analogy to VBA's 'personal' workbook) would seem sensible.
If that were to work out, eventually it may be preferable if things were to 'just work', in terms of all functions being in scope, so each such library function could freely call other such library functions.
At present, if you load multiple functions through Expression.Evaluate(), possible in batch through lists/records as you mentioned, they will all be available in the original scope.
However, with no effective way to pass this around (unless environments?), the loaded functions will not know of each other though. What I do now is to explicitly load used library functions in each function where they are needed. Under this limitation of losing
scope between functions, it might be ideal to have all available functions loaded only once.
Reloading in batch (i.e. load the whole library rather than the parts needed) within every new function scope may become less desirable in terms of unnecessary overhead.
I suppose for the most part my scenario is still largely hypothetical though, so I might as well try and see if the general idea would take off in the PQ community for now. In either case, thank you for your replies.

MyArray is not responding as GLOBAL scope?

And to loop that array in some button (on click event).
PLs. let me know how can i declare a array that is GLOBAL in scope, really global? at what level i hv to declare it? at root node level (say, my form name is VISITORinfio, so, keeping curson on this node and declaring array in readDoc event? )

Comparing the BOM usage with the actual usage for materials.

My client want to compare the BOM usage with the actual usage and have a report for this within a period? More specified they want to calculate the BOM usage, based on the requirement quantity from confirmation - but with out the scrap %. mulitplied with the confimed quantity of the header material.
The actual usage should be based on goods issuing from stock, either as goods issue to order (backflushing) or as goods issue to cost center.
I havent been able to indentiy a standard report for doing this - does some of you know a standard report?

Look at tabel RESB and compare it with MSEG, but I have some diferent problems with this.
- In resb there is no qty before scrap.
- The data amount from MSEG, is so huge so it is not possible to make a data search for a whole period (eg. month)

if it doesnt meet your need, you may have to create a custom report.

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.

Calling Web Service with SOAP header from BPEL

I am calling a web service (with header information) from BPEL. In the Invoke activity, i created a header variable to pass the header information.
But, when i test the BPEL service, invoke activity fails because the header information is not being passed.
Below is the error message (copied from clipboard).

ME57 transaction with ALV scope of list

hi all!
i want to run ME57 transaction with ALV scope of list, but i'm facing a problem because if the list of requirements are bigger than 50 recors, the system says that 'Max. 50 requirements can be processed simultaneously' and I can not assign source of supply to all my list. I guess this will be customizable, because if I run it with A scope of list, there's no limit of processing.
how can I change that value in order to be able to process all the requirements of my list in ALV view?

This limit is maintained in class CL_REQUISITION_AGGREGATE_MM
attribute N_EDIT_MAXIMUM initial value 50.
If you want , this value can be changed using transaction code SE24. However , please take note that this change is considered a modificationto the SAP standard system and will no longer be supported.

Huge data usage with Verison 4G LTE hotspot ( Verizon-890L-50DB)

Recently upgraded my internet service to a Verizon 4G LTE hotspot (Verizon-890L-50DB). First month - no problems - second month - I have 6GB of overage charges. Every time I log in to check email or any other minimal data usage task, I get hit with another GB or more of download usage. My computer is an HP Pavilion Laptop, Windows 7 with NETWORX installed. Networx tells me it is indeed MY computer that is downloading this data and my hard drive is also showing the increases in data.
I've run AVG, Glary Utilities, Speedy PC PRO and Spybot Search and Destroy but found no virus, rootkit or anything on my computer that would explain this problem.
When I use a different wireless internet service, I do NOT see the extraneous data usage.
I contacted Verizon's support team and got no help diagnosing the problem but they did agree to send a replacement for my hotspot device. Hopefully this fixes the issue; then I have to battle with them about the unwarranted $60 or more in overage charges.
Has anyone else experienced a problem similar to this?

I would recomend getting out of the contract before the 14 day trial period ends.   Verizon will charge you an activation fee, restocking fee and one months service, but that is better than being stuck with this mess. I have homefusion and am afraid to use since verizon seems to fabricate data usage. Unfortunately I did not realize this untill after the 14 day trial. Now is will cost me $350 to terminate my contract.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I purchased the Verizon Jetpack™ 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L two days ago. After one day, I had supposedly used half the 5GB monthly allowance. After two days, I am at 4.25 GB usage. I don't stream movies, I have the hotspot password protected, I live alone, and no one else uses my computer. I have not downloaded any large files. At this rate, I'll go broke soon.

Killing a bean with application scope?

Is there any way to kill a bean with application scope?
I am writing a web application, that most likely the browser window will never be closed. The problem is a user is authenticated onto our site but because the bean containing the users acct info is application scope, if another user logs in it still shows the old user as logged in. So on logout i would like to kill the application, the bean, servletContext...anything that will refresh the bean and the corresponding jsp. Any help is much appreciated.

There is an indirect way if you know servlets. The "application" implicit object that you use in your JSP is the javax.servlet.ServletContext object. Instead of declaring your bean using the jsp:useBean tag, directly put your objects into the ServletContext using ServletContext.putAttribute() method. Objects put in the ServletCOntext are available to all pages in the application. Just use the ServletContext.getAttribute() method to retrieve this bean in any other page.
To "kill the bean", just reset the value of this object to null by calling putAttribute(null).

Share stateful session bean in JSF managed beans with different scope

So I created a new stateful session bean and its local interface.

The xsd was created via the netbeans J2EE enterprise application dialog and I think its the most recent.

Error with the Scope parameter for component

Hi, I am using JSF2.0 in my web. In the home page (index.xhtml) i have an album gallery with session scope. However the gallery is available to all the users, what should be the scope for this component? After setting session scope, a session key is generated which is appended with the URL and because of this (perhaps) other links are not opening. i mean whenever i clicks on any link (about.xhtml), it displays nothing. Removing the bean from session scope makes everything fine except gallery (gallery doesn't rendered).

That version of the package has been built with apache 2.2.x. Be sure to use that version of apache too, as 2.0 won't work with that specific package.

Has anyone tried to extend Spatial with a 3D primitive?

Has anyone tried to extend Spatial with a 3D primitive that for example can model buildings and tunnels? I am trying to add the polyhedron primitive next to the existing point, line, polygon model. I just want to hear some tips or ideas...

The plan is to make a new GType and new stored functions that recognize this GType.
A polyhedron could be of type 3008,3D and 8=polyhedron(=new). The elem_info
and ordinates contain multiple planes. Self-created stored functions would be
able to recognize this GType, e.g. area3D should give the sum of the areas of all the
faces of the polyhedron and should also work on Gtype=3003 and give the real area
of a 3D polygon instead of the projection.I wouldn't suggest this methodology if you are considering using any spatial indexing or
functions with your data.
There is a mechanism Oracle Spatial has for defining custom datatypes. It should only
be used with custom apps, i.e. it won't be usable in the context of applications that know
about Oracle Spatial data types.
The mechanism allows you to define you own element using an element type of 0, and using
the interpretation to define what you are looking at. You would also include an a supported
element type that approximates your geometry, and that element is the one that is indexed,
and the gtype entered is associated with that geometry. Your private functions could access
the 3d geometry when required. For instance, you want to have a 3d cube. It might look like this:

the 1,2,1 in the elem info array corresponds to a 3d line string that when indexed with a minimum bounding
volume encloses the 3d cube. The 0,0,0 and 2,2,2 in the ordinate array stored as the line string when indexed
include the bounds of the cube. Next in the elem info array are 7,0,1. The 7 means offst 7 in the ordinate array
and in this example is fixed. Next the 0 tells Oracle Spatial to ignore this element. The interpretation of 1 you define,
the number could be anything. Since it is my example, I'll say the 1 means this is the definition of the first face in the
x,y plane (i.e. the front face of the cube which faces me). I've set the ordinate array with the coordinates of that face.
Next in elem info comes 22,0,2 which is starting at offset 22 there is another element that Oracle spatial should ignore
(element type 0), and next comes 2, which might mean this is the second face definition, that I've defined as the right
hand side y,z plane.
etc.
The meaning of the interpretation value is only limited by your imagination.
Note while you can index three dimensions if you want, the only spatial functionality that supports 3d is a spatial
index and a filter query, and some lrs functions. You will not be able to run any operator except for SDO_FILTER if you
have a 3d index, and all spatial functions will only work on 2d.
Do not define your own gtype and expect to use spatial. it will not work.
