Giving and receiving ratings

One of the new features of our community is the ability for users to give and receive ratings.
Giving ratings is a way for community members to give positive feedback to another member based on the contents of a particular post. It’s a great way of recognising that the reply message was helpful to the discussion and deserves to be recognised. It lets others know you appreciate their time and effort helping you with your query.
How do I give ratings?
If a post has been a helpful reply to you, or you are reading a post that you think is a useful contribution to a discussion then you can rate that post by following these steps:
On the message from the member you’d like to rate, click on the pink star icon on left hand side of the message:
Once clicked, the ratings image will show the addition of at least one point. Different members can rate the same post, so that post can be rated a maximum of 99 times.
Once you have given the post a rating, both you and the user that has helped you will get credit for this. The original poster will get the ratings points and may appear in the Top Rated Authors leader board if they regularly help others. You will get credit for awarding ratings. This will help you move through the community ranks.
Important notes about Ratings
Members cannot rate their own posts, nor can members rate the same post more than once.
Anyone who has contributed a post to the community may give a rating to a post.

Members,
We wanted to highlight one of the major components of the Verizon Community – Kudos. Giving Kudos is a way for community members to give positive feedback to another member based on the contents of a particular forum post. Simply put, it tells the person receiving the Kudo that their post was helpful to the discussion and deserves to be recognized.
Besides recognizing individual excellence in the community, using Kudos lets the receiving member know their time and effort in assisting with a question is appreciated, thereby increasing the likelihood they will continue being supportive within the community. In addition, giving and receiving Kudos is a component of the Community Ranking process.
How to Give Kudos
If a member views a post that they believe warrants congratulations, they may give that poster a Kudo by:
On the message from the member you’d like to give the Kudo to, click on the yellow Kudo button on the right side of the post.
Once clicked, the Kudu image will show the addition of at least one (1) Kudo point. Multiple members can Kudo the same post, so that post can be Kudo’d a maximum of 99 times.
Once you have given the post a Kudo, each party will receive credit – the original poster received points in the Kudos Received category and the member who awarded the Kudo receives Kudos Given credit. Kudos can be applied to Verizon Community Forums, Blogs and Idea Exchange entries. The most frequently Kudo’d community members are displayed on the community homepage.
Important notes about Kudos
Members cannot Kudo their own posts, nor can members Kudo the same post more than once.
Anyone who has contributed a post to the community may give a Kudo to a post.
Kudos from some members may have increased weight, e.g., instead of one point for each Kudo Given, these members Kudos count for two (2) points.

There are a few ways:
- Work on the wiki, if you like writing documentation for distros.
- Improve Arch's system utilities - just wander around in the bugtracker until you find something unassigned that looks like something you could tackle.
- Write random utilities like I have and throw them in Community Contributions
If you want to open your own mirror, you basically just need good bandwidth, both up and down, and either an uncapped link or a very expansive cap. From there, the mirror maintainers probably have a set of scripts set up to keep all the mirrors in sync.

Mail adapter as sender and receiver

hello.
i made the scenario of Mail as sendeer and receiver, when as receiver it gives an error sayin "Mail: error occured: java.io.IOException: server does not support PLAIN or LOGIN authentication"...
i saw the web blog 1798 by Prasad ulagappan...over ther i see that in the screen shots the option for connection parameter for mail server is ther and thers no option for the kind of authentication which is ther in sp13...
i checked and unchecked both of them but gives error...
any suggestions..

Just now i chk my scenario on SP13 using reciever mail adapter, and my scenario runs successfully.Try giving these values in Connection Parametersfor Mail Server in ur adapter as they works fine for me.
URL: URL of ur mail server
Check the box of Configure User Authentication.
Authentication Method: Plain
User: System User Name
Password: System Password

2LIS_12_VCITM populates the same Shipping Point and Receiving Plant

Hi Gurus,
We are using 2LIS_12_VCITM extractor which answers all delivery-related requirements. However when I checked the data in RSA3, Shipping Point and Receiving Plant are the same. So I checked some sample deliveries in table LIKP and it shows the correct shipping point and receiving plant (which are different to each other). I checked VL03N and table LIKP is giving the correct shipping points and receiving plants. Receiving Plant or LIKP-WERKS and Shipping Point or LIKP-VSTEL. My question is how this happened? Consequently, when I initialized in BW, shipping point and receiving plants are the same which should not be.

The data for the 2LIS_12_VCITM is not just sourced by LIKP (Delivery Header), but by LIPS (Delivery Item) too.
Plant, in this extractor, is sourced by LIPS-WERKS instead of LIKP-WERKS. The receiving plant is LIPS-UMWRK. If you require this data, you will have to enhance the structure and create the User Exit code in tcode CMOD to extract that particular data.

Want to Tranmit and Receive an Audio file separately. Need Help??

Basically i m implementing OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and data to process is an audio (wav) file. All i want is to transmit and receive audio file with separate transmitter and reciever. Both transmitter and receiver are working in combination (i.e in single VI) but when i separated them, transmitter is giving no response. Please tell what should i do?

It seams that you want to receive a lot, but you are not very interesting in transmitting something Before you post some code, we can not help you. This forum will probably offer you some advices. But you will never receive a "turn key" ready application.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted

its a personal ipad, its my wifes actually.. bought it last week. i have managed to finally add it as a pop server... wasnt giving the option to choose imap or pop just automatically ? Emails now seem to be incoming again however the issue is sending an email.... all settings are correct for a blueyonder email account, it shows in sent items but not received at the recipients end..
I know its an issue with the SMTP settings on the ipad and iphone as sending it from online mail works fine... very strange? any advice

I am having issues sending and receiving group texts on iphone 5c. I may get texts only from the sender or a few of the recipients, but not all. I spoken to Apple. They are working on the problem but it has been almost two months + and the problem seems to be getting worse. Any one have this issue?

ajspurr, sorry to hear that you're still having some troubles here, but we want to figure this out. If you have already cleared the application cache and data and it's still giving you an issue, we may want to reset the device. By resetting the device we can ensure there are no underlying software issues. If you have the device backed up you can take a look here to see how to reset the device http://vz.to/1ucTCmE. Just wanted to add some additional detail to Gen's response.
With a free account:
The first time that your form reaches 5 responses, FormsCentral will send you an email letting you know that your form is seeing some action and that you may wish to upgrade.
Then the first time that your form reaches 45 responses, FormsCentral will send you an email letting you know that you are getting close to your quota, again giving you the option to upgrade.
Finally, FormsCentral will send you an email once your response count goes over your quota of 50. ie. on the 51st response. Responses will continue to be collected until the count reaches 75, giving you time to upgrade. After 75 responses, people accessing your form will see a message that the form is full.

You should still use Image Capture IMHO. If it was my gear, that's what I would do. No need to worry about software upgrades.

How to send IP Addr in an alert and receive the same?

1. I have an 'alert handler' process that's sending an alert using 'Create Alert' activity.
2. I have a listening/receiving process that get's triggered by this alert from the 'alert handler' process.
3. The listening/receving process telnet's to a router. I want the listening/receiving process to extract the IP Address of the router from the alert that triggered this listening proecess.
4. I tried sending the IP address of the router as 'Parameter 1' using the 'Create Alert' activity in the 'alert handler' process.
5. In the receiving process, in order to telnet to the router, I chose 'Execute on this target reference' option for the 'Open Terminal' acitivity, but was unable to access 'Paramter 1' of the alert. It shows greyed out.
Question:
What is the best way to send the IP address of the router in the alert and receive the same in the listening process such that I can telnet to that router in the listening process?
Please note: tried creating a 'terminal target'...there is no way for me to supply IP address info from outside into terminal target...looks like terminal target only takes a hard coded IP address or host name.
Will appreciate your prompt response please.

We discussed this, but just to post here. To view alert or other tasks parameters via the reference variable fields you have to select the show advanced checkbox.

Cannot send or receive email from the cloud. all updates are competed and everything else is working fine on MAC. iPad sends and receives fine. any ideas.

On Imac I am not able to send or receive messages. All software is updated. My iPad that uses the same email address and the Cloud, sends and receives just fine. It is not "the colored" thing that is spinning but the little black and white circular icn that is spinning away. My other email address is functioning fine. It is merely the ICLOUD based email that is acting up. Any ideas?

To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone.
