GLOBAL TEMPORAY TABLE  with the ability for a user to see others's entries

I have a list of record available for many user at the same time for them to work on.
Every one has the tendency to chosse the first record...
I want each of the users to be able to chose a different record once the preceding record has been selected by another user.
It would have been somthing like a GLOBAL TEMPORAY TABLE but with the ability for every user to see others records
so I would do and anti-join...
Does anyon have an idea on how I could implement such a behavior?

You will not be able to use a global temporary table for such a requirement.
It sounds like you will need a permanent table, which you will need to lock certain records (prohibiting users from taking those already in use), you can look at using the DBMS_LOCK package for this.
That's just speculation based on what you've typed, if you provide more details you make get more specific help.

  • Want to know in which table is the sessionid for a user stored

    Hello,
    I am using Obiee 10g .
I would like to create a report having users and the no of sessions they logged in.
In obiee setting->admin ->manage sessions i can see the session id.
Can i just know where are they stored.
I have S_NQ_ACCT table in my db but that have the user but don't have the session id.
    Thanks

    Hi user,
I wanted to know how to frame the query if the table is v$active_session_history as there are so many columns then how ill know which is related to dashboard and which are not?
Write a query in your TOAD or SQL plus in the DB that ur using for obiee ,this is the query select sample_time,client_id,session_id from v$active_session_history where session_id=30987
and check your dashboard manage sessions for the session id and incorporate it in the where clause so you can know which user has run the report.
    hope helps you.

  • Can you Disable the ability for Users to Register Themselves on Help Desk?

I researched but could not find the answer to this.
I did find the "Do not allow users to edit profile" but I could not find where you can take away the ability for a user to Register at the help desk.
Meaning I want to be the only one able to create "End User" accounts. I will then give them their information.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks,

  • Sharing global routing table with vrf for intra-as traffic

We have a network block of 10.201.0.0/16 which is divided into two subnet 10.201.0.0/18 and 10.201.192.0/18. We are getting a internet feed for each subnet.
10.201.192.0/18 is in global routing table, and 10.201.0.0/18 is in a vrf-lite green.
I am thinking doing the following:
    ...........HUB
    VL199/....\VL198
    SPOKE1 SPOKE2
Hub and spoke are from perspective of vrf green.
For vrf green in the HUB:
    ip route vrf green 10.201.0.0 255.255 255.192 vlan 199
    ip route vrf green 10.201.64.0 255.255.255.192 vlan198
    SPOKE1
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 vlan199
    SPOKE2
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 vlan198
Suppose we already get the 2 internet feeds to HUB route with vrf green and global routing table. This should get vrf green going.
But we also have global routing table on the HUB router.
We would like to have 10.201.0.0/16 communicating with each other, and only keep internet default separated.
How should we get to 10.201.0.0/18 from global routing table and how should we get to 10.201.192.0/18 from SPOKE[12]?

In my lab, I have 2 ports configured.
    int gi1/2
    ip vrf forward green
    ip address 10.201.192.253 255.255.255.252
    int gi1/1
    ip address 10.201.192.254 255.255.255.252
    ip route 10.201.0.0 255.255.192.0 gi1/2
    ip route vrf 10.201.192.0 255.255.192.0 gi1/1 10.201.192.254
This way, from vrf green to global has go through HUB. and vrf greens will also go through greens.
Is there any other much elegant way for this purpose?

  • In OWB I need to update the target table with same field for match/update

In OWb I am trying to update the target table with the match and the update on the same field can this be done. I am getting a error match merge error saying you cannot update and match on the same field. But in SQl my select is
    Update table
    set irf = 0
    where irf = 1
    and process_id = 'TEST'
Hwo do i do this in OWB.

    table name is temp
    fields in the table
    field1 number
    field2 varchar2(10)
    field3 date
values in the table are example
    0,'TEST',05/29/2009
    9,'TEST',05/29/2009
    0,'TEST1',03/01/2009
    1,'TEST1',03/01/2009
In the above example I need to update the first row field1 to 1.
    Update temp
    set field1 = 1

    9,'TEST',05/29/2009
    0,'TEST1',03/01/2009

  • The sheet I am working on has lost the ability for me to scroll to the first few columns. I can't see the columns but I can cut and paste them so I know they are still there. Has this happened to others

The sheet I am working on has lost the ability for me to scroll to the first few columns. I can't see the columns A & B but if I cut and paste the table to a new sheet, the columns I am missing will travel to the new sheet.  I have charts and other stuff related the the original table so I need to figure out why I can only see from column C  forward.  I tried to "UNHIDE" the columns but the function doesn't seem to recognise that there are columns missing. Has this happened to others and how did you fix it?

I've seen it happen before, or at least it sounds something like what I've seen before. The table somehow gets into the margins of the page and the app doesn't know how to deal with it. Go into Print View and try moving the table away from the left side ofthe page. You might have to change content size or resize the table to get it to correct (then put you can put them back the way you like).

In the oracle migration workbench the create table statements are done before any stored procedures are executed, so that stored procedures will not be invalid due to tables not being created yet. If all tables were referenced through dynamic sql the tables could be created on the fly.

  • Problem with global temporary table with rows

    Scenario :
I need to create a table for generating a report in a oracle 10g database. Data population in the table depends on the parameter passed from front end.
I have created global temporay table to achieve this. But use of same table by another user is not possible.
I have created the global temporary table as follows:
''Create global temporay table xyz (a varchar2(10),b varchar2(10)) on commit preserve rows''

You have not posted much details.
But yes, global temporary tables are session specific. So other session won't see anything.

  • How can I build a table with the time values of a timer from a while loop

    Hi:
I have a question concerning building a table:
Every 100ms I read a value from a sensor (while loop with a timer). I would like to build a table with the actual time and the concerning value. For example:
    0msec         1V
    100msec     2V
    200msec     3V
    300msec     4V
    etc.
If I use the Express VI for building a table, I always get the date and time, but I don't need the date and the time is in the following format: HH:MMS, which is nonsensical for me as I can't differentiate within msec. Can I change the format anywhere?
Can I also save the table to a file or even to an Excelsheet? How can I do that?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Craig:
thank you very much. To solve the mystery : ) :
I want to drive a stepper motor with a specific frequency. To get the current degree value of the motor I would like to measure the current time (from the beginning of the move on). (With a formula I get the degree value out of the time)
Concurrently I would like to get data from a torque sensor and from a pressure sensor. That's why I asked you about the time and the table. The measurement should start with the movement of the motor. How can I do that? Right now I have different block diagrams (different while loops) (see attachment) and I would like to put them in one.
I haven't done the block diagram for the pressure sensor yet, so there is only the one for the torque sensor and the one for the motor.
I also would like to set a mark in the table when the voltage value of an analog input gets under a specific threshold value. Is that possible?
I'm sorry, I'm a novice in LabVIEW. But maybe you can help me.
    Thank you very much!

  • Trigger to update field on a table with the sum of fields on another table

My experience creating triggers and pl/sql in general can best be described in oracle terms as null. I've been practicing by creating tables and applications on my personal home server to help me with some of my work related tasks. Right now I'm trying to create a trigger that will, after insert, update, delete on the assignment_time_track table update the time_spent field on the assignments table with the sum of the time_spent fields on the assignment_time_track table. Hopefully that run on sentence there is clear to people other than myself. I've attempted to script this on my own using the trigger creation tool for Oracle Database Express Edition but I get the following error:
Trigger create was not successful for the following reason:
ORA-06552: PL/SQL: Compilation unit analysis terminated ORA-06553: PLS-320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
Here is my attempt at creating the trigger on my own.
    create or replace trigger "ASSIGNMENT_TIME_TRACK_T1"
    AFTER
insert or update or delete on "ASSIGNMENT_TIME_TRACK"
    for each row
    begin
    update assignments
    set time_spent = (select sum(time_spent)
    from assignment_time_track
    where assignment_time_track.name = assignments.name);
    end;
If what I've posted isn't clear or more detail is needed, let me know and I'll respond with a complete description of both tables and my goals for each table. Thanks in advance for any help. I will also gladly accept links to tutorials or lessons that explain how to do this sort of thing.
Edited by: bobonthenet on Mar 9, 2009 2:01 PM

    Hi,
If the assignments table has only one row per assignment, why is the primary key the combination of name and time_spent? If you have two two assignments called "Lab Report", isn't it possible that you would spend the same amount of time on each of them? I suggest using a sequence to assign an arbitrary id number to each assignment, and use that as the primary key.
What does each row in assuignment_time_track represent? It sounds like it is a chunk of time spent on one assignment (that is, you want to know that you spent 90 minutes on Tudesday morning working on some assignment, and that you spent another 30 minutes on Tuesday afternoon working on the same assignment). If so, then there should be a foreign key constraint in assignment_time_track referencing the primary key of assignemnt, and not the other way around.
Alex is right; you can get the total time spent on each project in a query or view; there is no need to replicate that data.
If you're new to Oracle and SQL, you should invest your time in getting more experience with the basics: everyday things like queries (using joins and GROUP BY) and views, and not spend much time on things that aren't used that much, like triggers.
If you really did have to copy the data, then you could have a trigger on assignemnt_time_track that kept the total in assignment up to date, like this:
    UPDATE  assignment
    SET     total_time_spent = total_time_spent
                    + NVL (:NEW.time_spent, 0)
                             - NVL (:OLD.time_spent, 0);I suggest you name the column in assignment something different than the column in assignment_time_track, to reduce the risk of confusion. Also, since they represent different things, the same name can't be the most descripttive for each of them.
In case you're wondering about the use of NVL, above: It allows the same statement to take care of the situation when you INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE a row in assignment_time_track. That is, if you UPDATE a row in assignment_time_track, and change the time_spent from 60 to 90, then you want to add the new time (90) and subtract the old time (60) fro the total_time_spent in assignment: that is, total_time_spent would increase by 30. If you INSERT a new row into assignment_time_track with time_spent=30, you just need to add the new time_spent (30): there is nothing to subtract. But rather than write an IF statement and a second UPDATE for that situation, you can just rely on hte fact that all :OLD values are NULL iwhen INSERTing, and treat that NULL as a 0. Likewise, when DELETing, all :NEW values are NULL..

  • Living with the new Fora

Ah, the new fora. Still getting used to them. Here are some reflections on the Pros & Cons, as I see them with IE7:
    Pros:
The formatting is nice, as is the ability to attach files.
Being able to add a link quickly, to open in a second browser window is nice.
The indentation of replies, to other than the OP.
    Cons:
Sometimes really slow, but could just be server overload, or maintenance.
The slight color differentiation between read, (updated) and unread could be much better.
The loss of the "red flags," is greatly missed.
The "New" banner is greatly missed.
The expansion of all replies, when opening an older thread is bothersome.
Learning to NOT use Back, once I’ve posted, is coming along slowly.
When a forum has multiple pages and you are past #1, going back to "Discussion" always takes me back to page #1. There has got to be some navigational trick that will get me back to page #X, regardless of whether I’ve posted, or am just reading.
The loss of many stickies, especially some of the FAQ’s and instruction on posting good questions with proper info.
Just some personal observations, with more in the works, as I explore.
    Hunt

    JerryK,
Yes, we are all in similar boats, regarding learning to live with the new fora. You guys just have the extra tasks of doing any modifications.
As to the "Previous/Next Page" issue. I do not think I was clear on my "problem." That, or maybe I misunderstood your reply.
    To clarify *my* problem:
Say that there are multiple pages on a particular forum. I am now reading articles on Page 2. I read the article, and hit Back (browser), or mouse button (left side for me), to get back to the discussions. I always get Page 1, and have to now hit the "2," or "Next" to get to Page 2 to move onto the next article. In all other fora, that I am familiar with, if one is on Page 2 (in my example) of the forum article list, and they read an article on that page, when they choose Back (however they choose it), they are taken to the article list page, where they were, not to Page 1, having to then navigate back to Page 2, or whatever. It is the seeming inability to get back to the article list page, that there were just on, without having to navigate to it, always from Page 1. It's the same if using the "Discussions" link from either location - goes back to Page 1 regardless of where one was in the page numbering scheme.
It's like having a sub-Menu in Encore, where you make scene selections and never being returned to that previous Menu - only back to the Main Menu and having to navigate back to the sub-Menu every time. It's like the End Action (the Back on the browser) defaults to the "Main Menu," and never to "Previous Menu."
Once one gets to about Page 5, they not only have to navigate back to Page 5, but also remember that they were on Page 5.
I hope that it's just OE on my part and there is really an easy way to go about reading all of the articles on Page 2 (or whatever) and not having to re-do the navigation after every article.
Thanks and good luck to you fella's.
    Hunt
PS on IE7, if that makes the difference

  • Is it possible to have 2 tables with the same name in an Orable database?

    Hello,
I'm a complete Oracle newbie so please excuse my question if it's stupid.
I was trying to create 2 tables with the same name using different tablespaces but it does not seem to work. Like this (second time just change the name of the tablespace):
    CREATE TABLE test_tbl (
      id INTEGER,
      status VARCHAR2(10),
      last_modified DATE DEFAULT SYSDATE
TABLESPACE tblspc1Is it in general in Oracle possible to acquire this goal?
    Thanks a lot!
P.S. I have already created the needed tablespaces
    CREATE TABLESPACE tblspc1 DATAFILE 'tblspc1.dbf' SIZE 10MEdited by: 808239 on 02-Mar-2011 02:18

It is not possible to create two tables with same name in same schema.
A user can own one schema with his own name and another with the schema name SYS.
For this you have to grant sysdba privilage to the user and then have to connect using sys password or with the password specified in password file.
But this still you have to access to the table in sys schema using sys.table_name.
    Hope Answered tthe Question.
