Gnupg update breaks key database [SOLVED]

Hi all,
I upgraded gnupg from 2.0.26-1 to 2.1.0-4, which also removed dirmngr:
[2014-11-25 20:18] [PACMAN] Running 'pacman -Syu'
[2014-11-25 20:18] [PACMAN] synchronizing package lists
[2014-11-25 20:18] [PACMAN] starting full system upgrade
[2014-11-25 20:19] [PACMAN] removed dirmngr (1.1.1-3)
[2014-11-25 20:19] [PACMAN] upgraded gnupg (2.0.26-1 -> 2.1.0-4)
Since then, engimail complains, if I understand correctly, about not being able to migrate my gpg-keys:
Error - encryption command failed
/usr/bin/gpg --charset utf-8 --display-charset utf-8 --batch --no-tty --status-fd 2 --with-fingerprint --fixed-list-mode --with-colons --list-secret-keys
gpg: starting migration from earlier GnuPG versions
gpg: error: GnuPG agent version "2.0.26" is too old.
gpg: Please make sure that a recent gpg-agent is running.
gpg: (restarting the user session may achieve this.)
gpg: migration aborted
Reverting to 2.0.26 with dirmngr solves the problem, but I feel a piece of security software like gpg should probably be up-to-date.
Reinstalling enigmail (it's from the AUR, after all, and got upgraded) didn't help, but the message seems to me to be more about gpg, anyway.
I should also mention that I upgrade my system pretty regularly (usually twice a day), and so didn't really expect a version jump to be too large.
I'd be grateful for any help with this.

Found it, there was a file that was being created in /dev called null.  I think it is to be related to the gnupg update, and apparently I did need proc, sys, and dev mounted on my PXE client roots.

    Are you going to give me a list of all of the packages you upgraded? Is it a secret? It's easiest to just post your pacman log.
    When did you upgrade? The "lxqt" packages in the AUR haven't been updated for a few weeks now...
    There were new updated lxqt packages today.

  • Efficient way of updating data to database table

    what is the efficient way of updating data to database table  .
    i have huge amount of data in my internal table  , how to use update statement in this case .
    1. database table having 20 fields  ,
    2. one is key field and suppose 20 th field i want to change  .
    3. I have data for only 2 fields , i.e for ( 1 st and last 20 th field ) .
    i can't use update statement in loop , as it is not good practice(hits database several times ) .
    do it effects all the 20 fields for  particular record .

    Hi,
    Use UPDATE statement , check below description from SAP help.
    UPDATE dbtab FROM TABLE itab. or UPDATE (dbtabname) FROM TABLE itab.
    Effect
    Mass update of several lines in a database table.Here, the primary key for identifying the lines tobe updated and the values to be changed are taken from the lines of theinternal table itab.
    The system field SY-DBCNT contains the number of updated lines,i.e. the number of lines in the internal table itab which havekey values corresponding to lines in the database table.

  • ORA-14402: updating partition key column would cause a partition change

    Hi,
    When I am trying to execute an update statement where i am tring to update date values emp_det from 11-oct-2010 to 12-nov-2010.
    Oracle throws an error :
    ORA-14402
    updating partition key column would cause a partition change
    I think that this is because emp_det is a partitioning key of a partitioned table.
    Oracle documentation says that
    "UPDATE will fail if you change a value in the column that would move the
    row to a different partition or subpartition, unless you enable row
    movement" .
    alter table t enable row movement;
    I did not understand what is meant by "enable row movement".
    I cannot drop the partitions and recreate it after updating the table and also i don't have proper priviliges for enale row movement syntax
    because of the lack of privileges. How to solve this is issues with out row movement and recreate partition.
    Can this be done by a developer or is there any other way to execute update in this case? its urgent.. pls help..
    thanks in advance..

    I did not understand what is meant by "enable row movement". Each partition in partitioned table is physically separate segment. Assume you have a row that belongs to partition A stored in segment A and you change row's partitioning column to value that belongs to partition B - you have an issue since updated row can't be now stored in segment A anymore. By default such update is not allowed and you get an error. You can enable row movement and Oracle will move row to target partition:

  • How to create a thread safe and concurrent form that updates data to database.

    Hi ,
    I am creating an application which will store information from 4 or 5 text boxes in the database.
    At the same instance of time atleast 300 users will be trying to update to the  database.
    That is trying to execute the same code.
    I am worried if there will be any issue of object lockign or my page giving some error or performance issue.
    How can I solve this issue.
    Regards
    Vinod

    SQL Server manages simultaneous access to data itself, when it comes to executing a single query. It locks/unlocks tables/records automatically. So, if you are using a single UPDATE, INSERT or DELETE command, usually you won't need anything to take care
    of synchronization, but a problem named "Concurrency issue" which I explained a little ahead.
    However, if you are updating more than one table, you must use transactions, so that your changes are applied atomically. This can be done both in database level in T-SQL and also in application level in C#, VB, etc.
    In T-SQL you want to use BEGIN TRAN, COMMIT TRAN, ROLLBACK TRAN commands and in C# you want to use TransactionScope.
    You should pay attention that, transactions indeed have a hit on the performance of your database. But using them is indispensable. To prevent performance degradation, you have to tune your database and queries which itself is another big topic.
    One thing that is more important is a problem known as concurrency issue.
    If more than one user tries to update a single record, each one might overwrite the update of another user without being even notified of this. Suppose user A and B both try to update a record. They are not aware of each other working with the application.
    They open a record in edit mode in the application. Edit it and then click the "Save" button. When the application saves the record with the data provided by each user, one data will be lost definitely. Because it will be overwritten with the data
    another user has provided and his Save command, executes later than the first user.
    There are multiple ways to avoid concurrency issue. One of them is using Timestamp (old method) and RowVersion (newer method) column in a table. They can help you detect a change in a record since its last time read. But they are unable to detect what column
    or columns are changed.
    You can get better answers for this if you ask a solution for concurrency issue in a SQL Server forum.

  • Update primary key/delete and reinsert records

    Hi, I have been told to update some fields. The database is new to me, and now I see the field is the primary key (and it has child tables with that as foreign key). The person who told me isn't reachable until next week...
    ...wasn't a bad idea to update pk's? I see it's possible, deferring constraints...
    update primary key
    Re: Update Primary Key
    ...but it's better/safer the script deletes and later re-insert the records, right?
    Thanks

    Always is better be able to undo any change .
    But ¡, why would you update pk's? it's possible but you colud find few problems like:
    - many levels of foreign keys exists.
    - not validate pk

    Hi,
    I don't know if this is the correct forum.
    When updating Model from database seems does not update the entity nullable property.

    maybe related..
    today.. i changed the PK size.. from char(10) to char(36)
    got many problems.. easy to fix...
    but some query stop working:
    Table1Record.Table2Reference.Load(); //i'm trying to load table2 from table1..
    throw this error: A relationship multiplicity constraint violation occurred: An EntityReference expected at least one related object, but the query returned no related objects from the data store.
    i get this error only when PK is greater than char(10)...
    with SQL profiler.. i saw that PK was truncated to char(10) :
    exec sp_executesql N'SELECT [... some fields...]
    FROM  [dbo].[Table1] AS [Extent1]
    INNER JOIN [dbo].[Table2] AS [Extent2] ON [Extent1].[NoTable2] = [Extent2].[NoTable2]

    (NoTable1 is the PK changed from char(10) to char(36))
    i'm working with VS.NET 2008
    so, i looked at Model1.Edmx... in notepad
    CSDL was not changed when i did the "Update Model from Database" !!!
    here is SSDL part:
            <EntityType Name="Table1">
              <Key>
                <PropertyRef Name="NoTable1" />
              </Key>
              <Property Name="NoTable1" Type="char" Nullable="false" MaxLength="36" />
    here is CSDL part:
            <EntityType Name="Table1">
              <Key>
                <PropertyRef Name="NoTable1" />
              </Key>
              <Property Name="NoTable1" Type="String" Nullable="false" MaxLength="10" Unicode="false" FixedLength="true" />
    Cool.. i found the prob.... but why ? and how to correct this ? manually change Model1.Edmx in notepad ??
    why the maxlength property is readonly in Model Browser pane ??
    what about VS.NET 2010 ?! same prob ??
    is it a bug or by design ?
    I hope this can help someone.. I spent a few hours on this prob

  • Updating registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE/KEY_OraDb11g_home

    We are installing 11gR2 32 bit on Window XP Professional . During the installation its stucked on given below operation (setup files operation ). I have tried multiple time , but every time it is stucking on same point (setup files operation -- updating registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE/KEY_OraDb11g_home1') . Not able to install 11gR2 on Window XP.

    This appears to be a download or extraction corruption.
    -Ensure the download size of the files are correct.
    -Don't use Windows native extraction to unzip the files, use something like winzip or 7-zip.
    -Ensure that the installation files are stored locally in a directory without spaces, such as c:\temp
    -Both zip files need to be extracted into the same directory. If you end up with more that one folder (ie: database), then you did the extraction improperly.
    -Do not install into c:\Program Files, install into a directory without spaces such as c:\oracle.
    Possible permissions issue:
    -Ensure you are an administrator on the system.
    -Ensure that the Workstation or Server services are running.
    -Turn-off system/virus protection
    -Do the installation from the console, not remote desktop.
    -Ensure failed installations are properly removed/cleaned.
    - run from the command prompt the deinstall utility (Oracle De-install Utility (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit))

    v$license is a dynamic view, you don't update it directly.

    or better way to get dvd from oracle itself.I think you can create a service request to do this, but it has been so long since I've done it I don't know if this is still true. Oracle assumes you can connect to the internet, a not unreasonable assumption these days, even if it means downloading to another computer then moving the zips around. Oracle also assumes you want to send all sorts of information over the internet to them from the database, an unreasonable assumption in my view.

  • DV7 laptop - Break key?

    Laptop is HP DV7-6175us.  I need a Break key for MS Access code debugging, but there's none on the keyboard.
    The right-shift key's alternate label is "Pause", so I tried Fn+right-shift that but it doesn't do it.  Tried adding the ctrl key to the sequence - that didn't work either.  Nor does Esc.

    Try the MS Windows on screen keyboard.  Get more info on it a the MS site:
    <http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Type-without-using-the-keyboard-On-Screen-Keyboard>
    The pause/unpause key should help you with this task.
    A google search can provide some other work arounds involving third party utilties and changes to you registry...

  • What are the things 10.6.8 update break?

    After the 10.6.8 update I am having so many issues,
    first, the %100 cpu usage of dock, disabled parallels, and now it is ok,
    then, a reboot and I am unable to login, I enter my password, it begins the login process, then logs me out,
    if I persist, it logs me in after a couple of tries, but each time a few of my applications are missing at random, and the environment is very very unstable, sometimes I see no desktop background, sometimes I start firefox and I am logged out again.
    I've seen some people suggesting removal of login items to resolve a similar but not the same issue, so I'm inclined to think overall, there is an issue with some applications which 10.6.8 update breaks.
    For starters my login items are:
    GrowlHelper
    Geektool
    EyeTv Helper
    Canon IJ Network scanner
    ituneshelper
    Magicprefs
    Sophosuiserver
    Does anyone have any problems with any of these?
    I only verified the parallels desktop 6 issue up to now.

  • Is it possible to Update Remote Key

    Hi,
    I have a remote system which create remote key while syndicating to ERP...
    ERP will create the material number which inturn needs to be updated in MDM using import manager..
    While importing I am mapping Material number to remote key.. which is creating new remote key along with defualy remote key generated while
    syndication... Is it possible to have one key as it is of same material from  same system? And at the same time it is again syndicating after
    I import with material number (Remote Key)..
    Thanks
    Rajeev

    HI Ravi,
    by doing so I am having the dublicates in the Data Manager...
    Steps I peffromed :
    I have a main table of fields FName(DF),LName,City ....I created a remote Sytem (Remote1) with range of 1000 to 2000 .. Imported two records say ((A,AA,City1)(B,BB,CITY2)) using FName as matching filed (I didnt mapped remote key).. MSS is started so I see the keymapping as A,Remote1 and 1000 and B,Remote1 and 1001 for these two records..
    NNow I created a dummy remote system and added a new field to the main table MatNumber.... I importing the file with (A,AA,City,Mat1) and remote system as dummy where I am mapping MatNumber to Remote Key... By doing so I see three records with one record dublicating as It got imported from new remote system with key value Mat1..
    Can you please guide how to havve only two records by just updating the key value....
    Thanks
    Rajeev
