Goods transfer from Depot to Manufacturing plant

Hi Gurus
Can some one explain me the the flow that will be involved in a scenario of goods imported and received at Depot (City 1). From depot it is transfered to a manufacturing plant (City 2). I want to be more clear about how and at what step the excise duties will be captured and when will J1ij come into picture.
Regards,
DDP

First of all I need to correct what I have mentioned. J1IJ is used only in Depot. While replying I mistook City 1 for plant and City2 for Depot. However, all the other steps remain same.
Whether excise transactions should be performed at Depot or not depends on whether Depot is having excise registration. If yes, it is mandatory to perform all the excise formalities as excise material is being stored. So when material comes in excise credit is taken and when material goes out excise debit has to take place. RG23D needs to be maintained at Depot.

GSL.

  • Stock value for stock transfer from depot (RG23D) to manufacturing (RG23A)

    Dear all,
The forum posts that I found are all relating to the process of how to do stock transfer from depot plant to manufacturing plant.
The question I want to post is relating to the transferred stock value.
When stock first goes into depot plant (RG23D), the excise duties (CVD, Education Cess, Higher Education Cess, Secondary Education Cess) are all inventorized. However, in manufacturing plant (RG23A), they are CENVATABLE and not inventorized.
In the transfer of stock from depot to manufacturing, how can we split out the stock value from depot and take out the excise duties to CENVAT in manufacturing plant?
If using Stock Transfer process (move stock from depot to manufacturing),
    1. Create Stock Transfer Order in ME21N using UD order type
            no accounting
    2. Create DO in VL10B and goods issue
During goods issue, moving average of stock in depot plant, will increase stock with the same value in manufacturing plant and reduce the stock value in depot plant. How can we reduce the stock value transferred to manufacturing plant by the original excise duties amount, and pass this amount into J1IEX? Is it done in this step or later steps?

    7. Question: Where to Debit CENVAT clearing? In normal domestic purchase process of raw materials into manufacturing plant, Dr CENVAT clearing will be posted during MIRO time.
If this process is not the correct way to do, please advise the standard SAP recommended way to transfer from depot to manufacturing plant.
    Thank you in advance.

You have to add the Excise duty condition types as a Delivery cost Pricing condition types in STO Pricing procedure and have used them in STO. In Pricing procedure, there is no concept of Deductible and Non Deductible. So, what ever the Delivery cost condition you add in Pricing procedure, the amount gets loaded on to the Material cost..To avoid this, a negative condition type needs to be inserted in Pricing procedure with a different accrual key.
You have to add One Positive condition and One Negative Condition type for the same. Negative condition type is to reduce the condition value from the Material cost during GI.
Try this scenario in development server and revert back with your observations.

Please guide me about below mention process :

    Hi Gurus
I am doing STO from RG23D depot to manufacturing plant (excise registered). I am using the SD/MM route for STO. I have maintained supplying plant as vendor (Depot) and maintained all excise details in J1id.
When i do GR for Delivery, i am not able to capture excise invoice generated at depot.
excise details are not maintained for vendor

Then why dont you maintain excise setting for depot in J1ID

  • Calculate price variance= goods transfer from consignment to own stock

    Hello network,
i hope you can help me. We activated the business content (purchase data). The project is now on test stage. Now we want to calculate a price variance after the goods transfer from consignment stock to our own stock. Normally we compare the price from the purchase order with the standard price in material master data. The problem is that there is no price in a consignment purchase order!  Have you got an idea how to fix the problem, probably get the price from the info record?? And if that could be possible, how can i do it?? Our IT specialist says, the extractors aren't able to do this.......
Thanks for your help in advance
    Sincerely
    Michael

    Hello Mr. Claussen,
long time ago you posted this issue - anyway, have you been able to solve it? I am at a very similar point and I'm thinking about an extension of the data source 0INFO_REC_ATTR with a new z-field "ZPRICE". I would then fill it in the R/3 user exit for extraction of master data and combine the info record with the rest of the data needed like material master or stock.
Have you found a better way?

  • Stock transfer between the two manufacturing plants

    Dear Experts,
I am doing the stock transfer between the 2 excisable plants
1.First we will transfer the Semi finished material from one manufacturing plant to another manufacturing plants.
2.After receiving the material in the receiving plant, they will convert SFG to FG.
3.FG material will transfer to another non excisable plant.
Is we need to pay the excise 2 times (1st time as a SFG material, 2nd time as a FG material)
What is the exact procedure for this scenario.
    Regards,
    Narendra

    Respected Lakshmipathiji,
    i was little confused here...
"""Coming to your query, you need to levy tax on the selling price / assessabale value when sending the FG to non-excisable plant""""
Tax means are you talking about sales tax?
when we transfer the Finished goods from manufacturing plant to Non-manufacturing plant---Will it attracts Sales tax?
Please throw some light here sir..
Note to Narendra: this will be completely depends on your client--currently at my client they will transfer semi finished/Finished goods from one plant to another as sales cycle(attracts only excise values)--once after receival of stock--the receiving plant will raise PO to supply plant followed by MIGO and MIRO--there by the same excise values will be settled in MIRO settings(user will enter excise values manually in MIGO/MIRO to match the origin of stock transfer sales invoice)( i was not completely aware why they do so--may be need to get more clarity from my MM counterpart)

  • SUPPLEMENTARY INVOICE FROM DEPOT LINKED TO PLANT

    HI EXPERTS,
I searched in forum related to my issue but i didn't find the correct solution.  Please suggest....
We have one plant & 4 depots but all are different states of india.  We are transferring the Finish Goods at deport from Plant thru STO and further process as per standard.
Transfer rate is always same as Sales rate but some time when Price increases we are selling in higher price from depot but Excise Duty we can't forward on increased rate as duty available in RG23D is based on transferred Rate.
Now, how to raise Supplementary Invoice of Duty from Depot to customer and before that how to get same duty from plant to depot.

    Thanks Mr. Lakshmipathi,
But Still I hv issue on below process described by you,  Have look...
I will recommend the below process in case of price increase given by customer for Depot scenario.
    1) Created a zee report on Depot Pending quantities, where you should have the STO proforma reference for having dispatched the material from parent plant to depot where you should fetch the data of STO rate and also PR00 rate and of course other datas whatever you want in this report.
=>  We have such type of report.
    2) Make a note of the STO document reference where the price between STO and PR00 varies
    3) Make a note of the original dispatch quantity from parent plant to depot and also the balance quantity lying in Depot
    4) Now you have to arrive Excise Base Amount by considering balance quantity available in depot x difference in rate
-=> in this case Qty is not Balance, whatever transferred all were dispatched._
    5) Go to J1IH, Select u201COther adj.u201D, maintain material code, balance quantity, ED and click on u201CFortnightly Paymentu201D and again click on u201CDetailsu201D button. Block the line item and click on u201CDetermine G/L Accountsu201D. There maintain Business Area and Cost Center and save.
-=> How to do J1IH if qty is "0" Zero_
    6) Make a note of the JV reference. This means, you have not updated in SAP (paid) the differential amount.
    7) Go to J1IGA, select the parent excise invoice number and maintain ED and other excise values and save. One internal document reference will populate which you should make a note
    8) Now follow the normal SD process like creation of sale order from depot, delivery and commercial invoice

  • Free goods process from DEPOT

    Hi
Here is the scenario like from Depot they want to offer free goods . The goods was sent from Factory to depot and that goods only they want to offer for free
what will be the process and what all i have to create

    Hi
In SAP  Depot is also treated as plant
So when you want free goods determination to happen thro Depot which means plant it is not possible
If you add the field Plant fn free goods condition technique and maintain condition records the system is not taking that record in the sales order
I have done a extensive research on this but not able to find out why system is not taking the field Plant while free goods determination in sales order
May be Plant is an Valuation Area and hence it is not logical to give a material which is valuated stock directly as free
May be other experts has to answer Why?

  • MM Stock transfer from blocked stock between plants

    Dear friends ,
Could I transfer material from Blocked stock between plants but in Blocked stock ?
I not found this movement types in ECC.
    best regards,
    Ale

It is not possible to move blocked stock between plants.
You have to transfer the stock into unrestricted- then you can move it to the other plant- then again a transfer posting into blocked stock.

  • Capital goods transfer from plant to plant

    Dear All,
Is there any possiblity to transfer capital goods through STO in R/3 between 2 purchase organisations and separate palnts under one legal entity.

Edited by: Suma Mani on Mar 19, 2009 11:53 AM

    Hi,
Yes you can transfer capital goods from one plant to other plant using STO order from one purchase organization to other purchase organization.
Ask MM to create the STO order for the same & transfer post the material from the sender plant to receiver plant & do GR against the receiving plant.
orelse you can do transfer posting from one plant to other plant using MB1B transaction with movement type 301,309,311 or 415.

  • Goods receipt from process Order, different plants same warehouse

    Hi All,
Would really apreciate guidence on my issue below.
We plane to implement the following Org Structure:
    Plant A                 Plant B
        Warehouse 0001
warehouse 001 shared by both plants
I execute a process order in plant A, when I perform Goods Receipt against the process order will it show under Plant A or both Plants A & B.
Plant A executes for Plant B as Plant B is new and all master data is set up in Plant A.
My hope is to get the business to execute Plant B process orders in Plant B but this will require huge effort I think as masetr data will need changing etc.
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi,
If you post GR in Plant - A, then the stocks in the warehouse will reflect for Plant - A & not in Plant - B.
Although the warehouse is the same, it is linked to the combination of Plant & Storage location. You can check the warehouse stocks using LS26, just specify the warehouse number & material number.
But there is also a concept of planning plant & production plant, so Plant A can be where the planning takes place, while Plant B is where the actual production takes place. In this case, although you produce in Plant B, the GR will be done in Plant A.
    Hope the above clarifies.

    Vivek

  • Stock Transfer of Excisable goods from Depot to Depot

    Hi,
We are facing an issue with Stock Transfer of Excisable Goods from an excisable depot to another excisable depot which had arrived from an excisable manufacturing plant.
We are following the below steps:
    1. Create STO PO at Depot A (ME21N)
    2. Delivery of Goods from Depot B (VL10B)
    3. Create Depot Excise Invoice at Depot B with reference to Orginal Manufacturing Excise Invoice (J1IJ)
    4. Goods Receipt at Depot A (MIGO)
    5. Capture Excise at Depot A (J1IG)
We are getting stuck at Step 5. When we are performing J1IG and entering Depot Excise Invoice or Original Manufacturing Excise Invoice, we are getting an error message as "Excise invoice does not exist in Supplying Plant".
Kindly suggest how to capture excise at Depot A.
    Regards,
    Debarshi

    Dear G. Lakshmipathi,
We have tried your solution but we are still stuck at the same place.
In J1IG, if we enter the Depot B excise invoice and press enter, we are getting the message "Excise invoice does not exist in Supplying Plant".
If we enter the Original Manufacturing excise invoice and press enter, then also we are getting the message "Excise invoice does not exist in Supplying Plant".
If we enter the Depot B excise invoice and give a tick in the "Depot Excise Invoice" and press enter, we are getting into an infinite loop.
Kindly suggest how we can capture the excise at Depot A.
    Regards,
    Debarshi

  • How to map sales return process from customer to mfg plant without Depot??

    Dear All
we have a Mfg plant (mfg1) & having  seven Depot.
regular process of STO DEPOT process
    ME21N-Purchase order STO
    VL10B - Replenishment delivery
    VL02N - PGI
    VF01- Proforma invoice
    J1IIN - Excise invoice
    MIGO - Goods Receipt
    J1IG - Excise Capture
    VA01 - sale order
    VL01N - Out bond Delivery
    J1IJ - Excise invoice
    VF01 - commercial invoice.
    J1IDEPOTSTOCK - RG23D Report.
In Case of rejection the Sales Return is directly delivered from customer to
manufacturing Plant,In this process depot is not directly  billed. The transaction is
done between customer to manufacturing plant.our question is how to MAP above scenario in sap
(currently all this activity is done in excel sheet ) please suggest any proper method....
    Regards
    Sachin

    Hi Laksmipati,
Thanks for your reply, however one of my clients requirment is that the returns delivery will be made directly to the mfg plant and not to the depot plant. In this case the excise calculation is going HAYWAYAA......I understand that it will make sense if the returns is 1st made to the depot and then to the mgf plant. The system wont allow me to do a returns with refernece to the invoice since it has been made from the depot to the plant. Also this will create a problem while doing A PGR. I will be grateful if you could comment on the same.
    Thanks
    Sachin

  • Depot Returns to Plant ( Business Process - STO Depot to Plant)

    Hi Lakshmipathi,
i have a problem in Plant to Depot Returns
i am following below procedure for Depot returns to plant
    Create STO
    Create Delivery In Background
    Create Depot Excise Invoice (J1IJ)
    Billing
    GR for OutBound Delivery
    J1IEX - Capture & post Exc Invocei
while capturing excise invoice (J1IEX) for STO or GR document i am getting following error
Excise Invoice XXXXX 13.10.2009 of plant PLANT NAME does not exist
    Please suggest
    Regards,
    Girish

    Hi,
    1. Create STO which must be created in receiving plant (Manuf.plant) by ME21N
    2. Create outbound delivey order) and PGI w.r.t. STO in Depot.(VL10B)
    3. Post depot excise invoice using J1IJ.
    4. Post the Goods Receipt in receiving plant.
    5. Post excise invoice number using J1IEX.
    6. Verify Invoice using MIRO.
    Returns from Customer to Depot
    1) Create a Depot return sales order in VA01 with reference to original billing document
    2) Create Delivery
    3) Create Transfer Posting using MB1B with Movement type 453 and dont forget to make a note of the material document number
    4) Go to J1IG, click "Capture". There enter material document number and the respective series group. Then click "details". Now select the line and click "More documents". Maintain the excise invoice number created at supplying plant.
Returns from Depot to supplying plant
    1) Go to J1IG and click on red icon from the toolbar. Enter material document number created during MIGO, year, series group of Depot and hit Enter button. Now click on "Item" so that you will be taken to next screen where you can see line item for RG23D cancellation. Save so that system prompts you asking whether you want to cancel the entry. Click YES.
    2) Verify this by going to tables J_1IEXCHDR & J_1RG23D. Check GRPO entry in both the tables where the status must have changed to "D"
    3) The original excise invoice can be canceled via J1IH and check whether DLFC entry has the status "R" and at this time entry CEIV is also created confirming excise invoice and CENVAT reversal.

    Pherasath.

  • Transfer of goods from Manufacturing Plant to Sales Depot plant

    Hi,
The Client is having Manufacturing Plant and Depo Plant wherein the goods shall be transported to Depo with Exice Invoice and sold from there without any excise duty.
As per SAP best practice, we have maintained the Price Control as 'S' in the Manufacturing Plant and 'V' at the Depo level.
The Client requires that the valuation of Finished goods at the Depo level should be inclusive of the excise duty paid when the material is despatched from Manufacturing plant to Depo.
How the excise duty paid amount can be loaded on to the material value and then sent to Depot?.
Please offer your valuable suggestions on this issue.
    Cheers,

    Dear
In manufacturing plant the stock transfer material's price control should be S and V for Depot material.
And configure Excise duty as condition type in Stock transfer Purchase order, which will automatically change the moving average price.
    Prakash.
