GPS only works when Verizon Navigator is open

I've been through many replacement phones and I'm tired of replacing them. All phones I have received do not have a working GPS unless I open Verizon Navigator first. Can someone please explain to me why this is and/or a fix for this? What is Verizon doing to these phones that Palm has not come out and said? This is tiring. I'm one step away from leaving either Palm and/or Verizon and going public. Never to come back to either if answers and/or assistance is not presented.
What is the final verdict palm? Is this a pre plus hardware issue or is this a Verizon issue? This is just too coincidental to not be Verizon.

Honestly? From what I've gathered, it sounds like a Verizon thing. GPS seems to work on the Pre's on other networks, but not Verizon. But if they allowed it to work, they wouldn't offer the $10/mo VZ Navigator to Pre users, so it seems like they did this intentionally. I've just gotten used to having VZ Navigator open in the background when I'm using Google maps. At least having it open (without paying for it) allows Google maps to pick up an accurate signal.

N85 GPS only working if battery cover is open

Hello,
Just bought N85 yesterday, however the GPS is not working if the battery cover is intact. Once I remove the battery cover the GPS works, I even got signal indoor in my room & got GPS locked in few secong only. It seems that the springy pin or whatever you call it at the back of the phone, once push grounded the GPS component thus no GPS signal is received.
Now I didn't recall in the user manual saying, user need to open battery cover for GPS to work.
Did anyone have this issue? hope Nokia can rectify this problem.
Hopefully the circuit shortage wouldn't affect any other components.

hey there.. i haven't seen anything like that on mine and i wouldn't know how to help you. but with all the things wrong with certain n series model, i wouldn't mind having problem. all i got out of this 85 is battery life and the rest is just.. retarded.

I have encountered an issue where my published captivate course will not load correctly (all I get is a black screen) in Firefox when clicking on the web link. All I get is a black screen. Refreshing doesn't help either. However if I instead right click on the hyperlink and select "open in a new tab" or "open in a new window" the course loads properly. I have been told that it works just fine in IE and Chrome.

Why does my G4 ibook display only work when it's partially open?

The display on my iBook G4 shows no video until I nearly close the lid. I can then see the display working but it is at an extreme angle. I'm thinking that it must be a contact problem, but cannot find any forum or troubleshooting support that address this issue. Does anyone know of a procedure to check and repair this?

I have repaired those inverter cables. The break is usually at the hinge point and often it's the red wire that breaks. If you open up the iBook (bottom case, top case (Be very careful with the power lead, it's easy to rip the socket off the logic board. I don't even attempt to unplug it, just free up the speaker cables and the power lead (blue and white) by pulling it free from the adhesive) and the top shield. (lots of patience required here to keep from bending the shield esp. near the top left). Often I'll just leave it connected and tape it to the display. You have to tease the inverter cable out and might have to remove the display to get full access. Note carefully how the cable is routed around the hinge. I tease the silver tape apart (often you can see the break - big black burned spot) so then I solder it back together, lots of tiny shrink tubing.
When I remove the top or bottom shield I'll tape the individual screws right to the shield near where they belong. 3M blue for this. That way reassembly is a no brainer. I used to measure the screw length w/ a metric rule and that took forever.
I also use a "black stick" that I made from a #3 black nylon propeller from the hobby shop. I cut it in half and tape the cut ends w/ self fusing electrical tape. The black stick is essential to releasing the tabs that hold the case together. Don't forget to release the one inside the battery compartment as I often find that one broken off in iBooks that come in for donation.

I have made a rather annoying discovery. Emails are being pushed, provided the app runs in the background. In Mobile Me times this was not necessary.

ZTE Open C Accelerometer only works when phone is upside down?

I just received my new ZTE Open C and when I tried a few games, like Sketchbook Squad, for example, I found that the accelerometer control ONLY works if I hold my phone upside down.
Does anyone know if this may be an OS related issue relating to calibration, or maybe it's a defective device?

Can you please list *all* the apps that you are having problems with? Please specify which of those apps the accelerometer do not seem to work at all, and which of those apps the accelerometer only works when the phone is upside down. This information will help greatly in investigating this issue.
Please also let us know the Build ID of your ZTE Open C device. To find the Build ID, go into '''Settings''' > '''Device Information''' > '''More Information'''.

Torch 9800 touch screen only works when slid open.

Hello everyone, this is my 1st post but I've been lurking the forum for some time. I'm running a Torch 9800 on AT&T right now on v6.0.0.600
This is what's happened with my phone: as the subject notes, my touch screen only seems to work when I slide open the phone.
What I've tried so far that doesn't work: rolling back software, rolling the software forward again, hard resets, soft resets, adjusting intervals for the touch screen.
The weird part is that I saw an older thread that had the exact opposite problem(touch screen only worked when the phone was slid closed). I have a level/ruler app for my phone and it's showing that the phone knows when it's tilted/angle/orientation. I've also closed the phone, opened it slightly (about the width of my thumb) and it stays horizontally oriented + I'm able to use the touch keyboard that way.
Anybody have a suggestion as to what I can try next to fix this? I haven't gone so far as to just go and get a 9810 yet, but i'm considering it.

Has it in anyway fallen or pressed hard at any point? It could be the belt, which would just need you to go with it to a certified repair center and get it secured.

LabWindows/CVI 2013 SP2 stops working when I try to open a file using the project file menu.

I have windows 7 on my system and sometime late last year I starrted getting a Windows dialog telling me that LabWindows/CVI has stopped working when I try to open a file from the project file menu. I also get an error when I run a project debug mode and use a selectFilePopup in the code. The error says, "The program has suspended execution at address 0x75D5025E. No source line information is available." I've tried removing and reinstalling CVI to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your response. I've attached screnshots showing the version details for kernal32.dll and ntdll.dll. I also looked at the updates to see which might have been installed when the problem started. Unfortunately there are 15-20 updates every month. I didn't take note of when the error started to occur. At first it only affected my ability to open files from within the project (i.e. file->open->Source, etc). Then I went back to modify a project that had a SelectFilePopup and found that that wouldn't work either.

Does Siri only work when connected to WiFi

Does Siri only work when you are connected to a Wifi? Mine does not seem to work through the 4G cell network.

It works over WiFi or cellular.
If you are using 4G cell network, are you using something like a Verizon MiFi 4510L to create a hotspot that your iPhone 4S is using?
There are other issues with Siri that are going on - perhaps that is what you are seeing?

MacBook Pro will not charge, only works when plugged in.

My MacBook Pro says it is at 68% battery not charging but the source is coming from the power adapter. It hasnt gone down for the past day or so. Also it only works when it's plugged in and shuts down immediately when the charger is unplugged. I just bought a replacent cord and this started happening. Does anybody have a fix for this? I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I am looking for an alarm app I can use (besides Apple's) that works even when it isn't open and I am doing something else on the phone. Try restoring your iPod via iTunes. First from backup and it the problem persists restore to factory defaults.
If still a problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it is likely that your have a hardware problem.

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

When I finish my work I turn off the imac and then again when they return to work and care, it can not connect to Time Capsule Airport, making it impossible to remove the files and make back up by Time Machine only works when I turn off and turn on the Airport Time Capsule , but I think this may end up with the unit. Use WPA2 Personal security with 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
read apple instructions to help with TM and TC.. they did finally admit it has issues in Mavericks.
