GPU Performance is Disabled?

I have a NVIDIA K2000 Graphics Card and Illustrator will not allow me to set the GPU Performance?
Works fine in Photoshop..??

Any help on this would be great thanks.

This is a limitation in pretty much any GPU-based acceleration, be that AI or 3D programs or whatever. It's inherent in the acceleration frameworks/ APIs and how the graphics drivers handle it and usually totally outside Adobe's control. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and that is just that. Future versions may improve things in this department, but that's all you are probably ever be getting to hear from anyone on that matter.

  • GTX 750 Ti in Illsutrator - GPU Performance feature - Compatible GPU not found

    Hi,
I recently bought a GeForce GTX 750 Ti and was really happy that I could turn on the new "GPU performance" - it really made a difference.
Today I had to reinstall Illustrator (the OS was slow) and now I can't turn on the "GPU performance" feature. It says that "Compatible GPU not found. GPU Performance is disabled"  and "Device: Multiple Graphics Cards detected"
I'm using the latest GeForce driver. I know that the GTX 750 Ti is officially not supported (Seriously!? -  this is also really annoying since older, less powerful cards are on the supported list).
I don't want to buy an other card, but if there is no other option...
    Any suggestions?

I have just completed running the entire PPBM8 script with the GTX 750 Ti, and compared it to the results that I had obtained over two weeks ago with the older GTX 560 card.
GTX 750 Ti on CC 2014.8.2 (1TB Samsung F3 as project disk):
GTX 560 on CC 2014.8.1 (1TB Western Digital Black WD1002FAEX as project drive):
It appears that the first-generation Maxwell (GM107) GPU somehow improved the H.264 rendering/encoding performance compared to the older Fermi (GF114) GPU. The MPEG-2 rendering/encoding performance is practically equal with both of these particular GPUs.
Verdict? The GTX 750 Ti is the right choice for a PC that's equipped (however less than ideally) with a higher-end i5 without hyperthreading or a quad-core i7 that cannot be overclocked much if at all (and this is assuming that that PC has a sufficiently fast disk subsystem).
By the way, the GT 740 that was suggested for the OP's system (given the "Green" drives) is not a Maxwell-generation GPU at all - but a Kepler-generation GPU (in this case, based on the GK107) instead. The GT 730 with GDDR5 memory that I recommended as an alternative to the GT 740 DDR3 is based on the GK208 GPU. (And I do not recommend most GT 730s on the market as they are based on an old Fermi-generation GPU - the GF108 that debuted with the GT 430 back in 2010.)

  • GPU Performance Experimental Feature won't detect GeForce 660 card

I'm running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 with the latest driver pack (just installed today) and Illustrator is telling me that "compatible GPU not found."  This card is listed in the required cards list (GPU Performance) and I've been thru all the troubleshooting procedures to no avail.  Any clue as to why Illustrator refuses to see my card??
    Additional specs:
    Windows 7 64-bit
    Intel Xeon E5-1620
    32GB RAM
Any other info needed?  Please help!
    Thanks!

Here's even more crazy... I'd say most of us in the Graphics/video industry use multiple monitors, and at a guess I'd say a lot of use have multipleGPUs to boost performance... but:

I have a 21" LCD as my main monitor and a Wacom Cintiq 24HD running off two GTX580s... in order to get better performance from Illustrator, I must remove one of my GPUs... What the eff!?
    I tried sli, non-sli and non-sli with monitor in each card... I guess it's a no-go.

  • New Notebook Graphic Specs for Illustrator GPU Performance

I'm looking at purchasing a notebook for use with Adobe Illustrator.  Looking at the specifications, only certain NVIDIA video adapters are listed supporting the new Windows GPU Performance.  The notebooks I'm looking at have the NVidia Optimus K1100M 2GB video adapter and the NVidia Optimus 1GB adapter.  I take this to mean the Optimus series won't make the cut with GPU performance for Illustrator, correct?  Here the spec link: System requirements | Illustrator

I was curious about your experience with CS5 Master Collection, since I purchased the CS4 Master Collection more than a year ago.
I had previously bought the CS3 Master Collection and upgraded.  The original CS3 collection was reasonable to work with because there was a  Disc for each different program.  If you needed to reload a program you could figure it out.  When I upgraded to CS4 which was a decent price, I figured what I would get would be comprehensible in the sense that CS3 was.  What I received was (I believe 5 discs...I don't have them with me) labeled Content
and Applications.  It wasn't long, because of the general 64-bit confusion, that one of the programs (Acrobat Pro) became corrupted.  I wasn't sure which disc or discs to load.  There are absolutely no instructions or anywhere you can go to find them.  Adobe provides nothing for Master Collection
owners, or rather up-graders...try sending an email...good luck.  Try calling...to find out how to load a program?  By the way when I try to load one of the Content discs, I get a message that says my laptop, with all the bells and whistles, and which originally accepted the Master Collection, cannot load the software, whatever that means.  I wrote several emails to Adobe asking for help, I'll even pay for it...no answer.  I also subscribe to the Professional Photographers podcast and Adobe is frequently mentioned as having terrible customer service and having over-priced software.  I'm seriously thinking of alternatives, but everyone uses Photoshop, which you're probably better off buying by itself.  Or, you could wait for another frustrated customer to post his/her complaint to the Adobe Forums.  I don't think the Adobe administrators will let this be posted, but please, be forewarned about the terrible customer service.

    Hi,
This is because your management packs were disabled, You can enable these management pack - "DIAGNOSTIC" pack to get this performance tab.
The following document, helps you to navigate to the location where you can enable /disable the packs.

  • GPU Performance with Illustrator - New Notebook Specs

I'm looking at purchasing a new notebook for Illustrator use.  The system requirements for Illustrator list only certain models of NVIDIA video adapters.  The notebooks I'm looking at have the NVidia Optimus K1100M 2GB video adapter.  I would like confirmation that the Optimus series of adapters will not provide Windows GPU performance and that I should be looking at only the adapters listed within this link:

    Thanks!

Thanks for writing. Please don't mind if I pick apart your statements.
"For an extra $200 the 5870 is a no brainer." I agree on a pure cost basis that it's not a hard decision. But I have a very quiet environment, and I understand this card can make a lot of noise. To pay money, end up with a louder machine, and on top of that realize no significant benefit would be a minor disaster.
So, the more interesting question is: has anyone actually used the 5870 and can compare it to previous cards? A 16-bit 60 megapixel image won't require even .5GB of VRAM if fully tiled into it, for example, so I have no ability, a priori, to prove to myself that it will matter. I guess I'm really hoping for real-world data. Perhaps you speak from this experience, Matthew? (I can't tell.)
Background work and exporting are helpful, but not as critical for my primary daily use. I know the CPU is also used for demosaicing or at least some subset of the render pipeline, because I have two computers that demonstrate vastly different render-from-raw response times with the same graphics card. Indeed, it is this lag that would be the most valuable of all for me to reduce. I want to be able to flip through a large shoot and see each image at 100% as instantaneously as possible. On my 2.8 i7 that process takes about 1 second on average (when Aperture doesn't get confused and mysteriously stop rendering 100% images).

  • MSI GT70 0ND-219US Bios settings for fastest cpu, and maybe gpu performance?

What is the best BIOS's settings (I have the unlocked BIOS)
For overclock cpu on startup and GPU

Honestly? Stock. There's little to no performance gain overall for the CPU.
You can't change the GPU performance from the BIOS.
If you're asking these types of questions, you're probably better off not changing anything without doing a TON of research first. There's plenty of website out there that detail what you can do, and why, and how it really isn't very effective (especially in the mobile space) just because you can't increase it as much as you can on the desktop space (in some cases).
Unless you have upgraded the CPU from the 3610 that was originally installed in your laptop, overclocking is really pointless.

  • My android GPU performance is far more stable now!!!

The other day my phone was updated to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), coincidently i was prompted for the Air2.7 update as soon as i rebooted.
My Air app GPU performace stability has really improved a ton! I figure it was Air 2.7 update, but so far Adobe has not really claimed any GPU performace inhancements in Air2.7 (as far as i read it was mostly CPU performance).
Previously I had good performance but after a few days of the phone being on, Air apps would not perform well, i would get intermittent rendering stutter in GPU mode. Eventually i would need to reboot the phone and it was good for a while, even if i had everything else closed out and high memory availble. It would only seem to be Air apps with the issue
Since the update(s) my performance is rock solid! The difference is huge, if no GPU enhancments, perhaps 2.7 garbage collector update was just that great?
    Anyway i wanted to say
    1) Great job Adobe team!!
    2) It is possible that Android 2.2  (froyo) might just not perform as well or have slight memory managment issues.

Which firmwar version do you have?. I have the 1.0633.18.01. RM-208. Perhaps the problem is a firmware version.
My phone reboot automacally and it makes a lot of times during a call. That is very frustating. I´ve heared in other forums and in this forum that those stability problems are common in this phone.
There could be 3 reason for the problem:
1.- Firmware problem: Very easy to solve by Nokia. I believe that it is the cause of the problem (too many posts with stability problem to a hard problem)
2.- Hardware bug of this model: That is imposible to solve. The doubt is that there are people that don´t have any problem (as you).
3.- Hardware problem in this unit: If it is the cause I have to send it to NOKIA and be without my bussines phone for 20 days. That´s mean no blackberry mail, no contact (I have almost 1000 and there isn´t any tradicional phone or SIM that support that amount...)
In the past I had a Imate SP3 with windows and didn´t had any problem with it (some times it makes strange but never interrumped me a call).
So everybody can see that I´m "very happy" with this phone...
PLEASE, NOKIA, PUBLISH NEW FIRMWARE FOR THE PHONE THAT SOLVE PROBLEMS.

  • Get GPU Performance Info

I have a W8 computer with an intel GPU. How can I script the automatic grabbing of GPU stats? My plan is to take readings over a time span and output them into a csv.
    Things I've looked into:
    CIM class, seen here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/943b52c0-ae9d-4157-addd-2b8878e5396b/how-can-i-measure-gpu-loadusage?forum=winserverpowershell
This post revealed some gpu settings but nothing to do with available memory or % utilization.
Get-Counter: With NVidia cards, getting performance counters is as easy as calling Nvidia Graphics (something like that) however a quick
    Get-Counter -listset * | Select CounterSetName | Sort-Object CountersetName
reveals that Intel does not provide this feature (perhaps I can import it?)
I'd prefer to do this with powershell because this is just a small portion of a larger script. But I'm willing to use anything if it works.

If the feature is not provided then you need to contact the vendor.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Air 3 and GPU performance on iOS

I was wondering what perfomance differences were being experianced on Air 3 GPU comparitavly vs. 2.7 (better or worse).  And, if adobe had mentioned that there 'should' be better performance expected, or the performance should remain the same as 2.7.
    -dis

Though not IOS specific, this is from last weeks Q&A session:
    226. darklite: I have been considering starting to build some apps using Flex/Flash for mobile but the last time I saw a flex app (air 2.6) running on a droid (evo) it was quite laggy (lag between views, animation were choppy). This was also the case with the tour de flex app using AIR 2.7.   Does AIR 3  address a lot of these performance issues?
    * Greg Wilson: AIR 2.7 addressed a lot of those issues already – far better.  AIR 3 will go even further.  Def worth another look
Lots more questions were answered - and many weren't . Check out the transcript on flex.org.

  • GPU Performance Grey Out

    Hello All
    i have a strange issue
i have a quadro 2000 video card and my option in illustrator performance is grey out how can i enable it ?
    Thanks

It only works on Windows computers. Somebody posted a chart here with the limits of the GPU Acceleration. I can't remember the exact details but how many CPU do you have. There was a limit on the combination of CPU/GPU on which it will work.

  • Premiere Pro CC Bad GPU-Performance...?

    Hi,
I just have testet the new Premiere Pro CC...
Could it be that the GPU-Performace is now totally slow???
I have a 1080i Project, and if I just use a Chromakey (Ultrakey) with activated MercuryEngine (CUDA), the playback stutters extremely!
If I try the same in CS6, everything plays smoothly!
    Is this a joke???

I update this thread. For me the performance in Premiere CC is a bit "terrible". Is this related to my old projects created with CS6?
My GTX680 4GB seems that doesn't changes performance speed with GPU enabled or not. In CS6 i can playback smoothly AVCHD files from my MKII or GH2. In CC the yellow line makes all stutter...
    My system:
    i7 980x
    Intel DX58SO
    12GB Ram
    ASUS GTX680 4GB
    Bests,
    Roberto
    Edit
Ok,it all seems related to CS6 projects. I've run a long session with new projects,AE compositions winth Dynamic Link and goes really smooth.
    My bad!
    Bests,
    Roberto

  • Performance and Disabling Fonts

I have read that disabling fonts will help performance. I have disabled fonts that I will never use (I didn't disable any system fonts). Does this help only in startup or does it help when running apps or both or other???
    Thanks!!!

    TempusThales
How many fonts are we talking about? if it is the normal OS X installation plus a few it is not worth considering. If it is too many of them (hundreds or even thousands) then yes by disabling those you do not use will help your system breath. Please read Kurt Lang's excellent tip regarding Font Management in Tiger and Panther.

  • Very poor CPU and GPU performance when disconnected from AC

I've been looking for a similar topic here but after a while I didn't find anything similar.
I know when the Macbook Pro is running just with the battery the performance and speed is lower than plugged to the AC, but in my case the difference is ridiculous. I can't use the Macbook Pro unplugged to do my work with apps like InDesign and Illustrator and I have a lot of trouble viewing mid to hi res videos.
I've been running Xbench tests and when the AC is plugged, my results are:
    Results 121.03
    System Info
    Xbench Version 1.3
    System Version 10.5.6 (9G55)
    Physical RAM 2048 MB
    Model MacBookPro4,1
    Drive Type Hitachi HTS722020K9SA00
    CPU Test 126.56
    Thread Test 275.13
    Memory Test 162.74
    Quartz Graphics Test 191.30
    OpenGL Graphics Test 168.71
    User Interface Test 277.31
    Disk Test 39.38
But when I'm using just the battery:
    Results 59.58
    System Info
    Xbench Version 1.3
    System Version 10.5.6 (9G55)
    Physical RAM 2048 MB
    Model MacBookPro4,1
    Drive Type Hitachi HTS722020K9SA00
    CPU Test 52.46
    Thread Test 108.53
    Memory Test 74.91
    Quartz Graphics Test 61.50
    OpenGL Graphics Test 54.07
    User Interface Test 61.99
    Disk Test 40.04
The difference between the CPU test is like 60% lower performance and in the Quartz and OpenGL tests are like 70% lower performance!
I think something is wrong here, is it normal?

    +is it normal?+
I don't think so, here's my results for comparison; basically not much difference at all.
    On Power Supply
    Results 118.55
    System Info
    Xbench Version 1.3
    System Version 10.5.6 (9G55)
    Physical RAM 4096 MB
    Model MacBookPro5,1
    Drive Type Hitachi HTS543225L9SA02
    CPU Test 140.67
    Thread Test 313.72
    Memory Test 176.49
    Quartz Graphics Test 165.82
    OpenGL Graphics Test 145.97
    User Interface Test 261.48
    Disk Test 37.91
    On Battery
    Results 117.13
    System Info
    Xbench Version 1.3
    System Version 10.5.6 (9G55)
    Physical RAM 4096 MB
    Model MacBookPro5,1
    Drive Type Hitachi HTS543225L9SA02
    CPU Test 140.79
    Thread Test 299.52
    Memory Test 172.89
    Quartz Graphics Test 145.97
    OpenGL Graphics Test 129.50
    User Interface Test 295.27
    Disk Test 39.09
If you remove the battery and only run on MagSafe power then it will only use one CPU and you'd see a major drop in performance, but you're seeing this result with no power and battery only it's very strange.

  • GPU Performance

I'm using RADEON R9 290X 4GB graphic card on Windows 7 64 with one monitor.
Photoshop CC 2014 supports GPU acceleration but Illustrator CC 2014 is not!
I'm quite sure many users faced the same problem but I don't see any solutions or response from Adobe!
does anyone found a solution for this?

    Hello @iko21,
Welcome to the forums, lets see what we can do about your video concern.
First off I would like to thank you for provide the great amount of information this is a big help.
    -Intel i7-4510U (2.0Ghz)
    -12 GB ram
    -Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M 4GB
    -Windows 8.1 64bit
One thing I must state right off is that this is a notebook.  It will play games but that being said, gaming requires power.  The required power to keep up the gaming at a constant level tends to produce allot of heat.  One thing you may want to consider is to help with cooling on your notebook first and foremost.
Next we may consider trying a system restore back to around the time you noticed your system slowing up at bit.  There may have been an update that has caused some configuration change.
Here are a couple of links to help you with that.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
Over time your notebook will collect all sorts of nasty dust and so on. This will not help with heat.  Here is a link to help you with keeping your notebook cool.
HP Notebook PCs - Reducing Heat Inside the PC to Prevent Overheating
As well you may remove and then reinstall the drivers for your video.  Here is the link to the support page for your notebook.
HP ENVY 15-k046nd Notebook PC support
If after all this you are finding an issue with the system,  Here are a couple links for hardware testing.
Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista)
Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
I hope this will help you out.  Please post back and let me know
Thank you again for posting and have a great day.
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!
Also be sure to mark my post as “Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others who face the same challenge find the same solution.
