Performance tab disabled in Grid Control
Enterprise manager tab performance is disabled in Grid Control. How to enable it?
Regards,
dba
Hi,
This is because your management packs were disabled, You can enable these management pack - "DIAGNOSTIC" pack to get this performance tab.
The following document, helps you to navigate to the location where you can enable /disable the packs.

Performance tab in Cloud Control 12c
Hi guyz,
How can I activate Performance tab in EM Cloud Control 12c? Do I need any license or is there light version?
In Grid Control 11g it was easy to activate.
Thank you beforehand.Could you please confirm the Database Diagnostic Pack and Oracle Tuning Pack is enabled for the database.
From the Setup -> Management Pack -> Management Pack Access
To enable the Management Pack for Oracle Database:
From the Setup menu, select Management Packs, then select Management Pack Access.Enterprise Manager Cloud Control displays the Management Pack Access page.
In the Management Pack Access page, from the Search list, select Database ===> It will lists all the Oracle Database targets being monitored.
From the table, for the select your Oracle Database target and enable the Oracle Diagnostics Pack, Oracle Database Tuning Pack and click Apply.
For licensing information on the Oracle Diagnostics Pack and Oracle Tuning Pack

Understanding the Management Packs in Enterprise Manager (dbconsole, grid control and cloud control) (Doc ID 1566956.1) -
Enterprise Manager "Performance" tab is suddenly disabled.
I've been logging onto Enterprise manager using the same credentials for months with
no problem. Today I logged in and I suddenly can't access the performance tab
on EM. I usually logon as sys as sysdba.
I DID change some DB init. parameters, increasing the number of processes and cursor resources but that's it.
Why is my "Performance" tab disabled now ?
How can I get it back ?Try logging into your OEM again.
Then go to 'setup' in your upper right corner.
Once in the setup screen, go to the left border menu and select "Management Pack Access".
Take a look if you have a check in the box for 'Database Diagnostic', and one for 'Database Tuning' -
Windows external authentification in grid control
I am currently facing this error when i try to connect to a windows database for "performance information tab" through a grid control installed on a linux platform :
"Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection"
The sqlnet.ora on the windows platform has the following content :
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
The listener.ora on the windows platform has the following extra content to be able to log errors :
LOGGING_LISTENER = ON
TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = ADMIN
I tried to use many accounts that are in the "ora_dba" group but i get the previous error.
Below an extract of the listener.trc file generated when i try to connect :

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------On your WIindows NT server your AGENT is going to be on, you are required to specify the HOSTNAME.
The listener.ora configuration file uses a fully qualified hostname. Open a command prompt and issue a ping to display the fully qualified DNS host.
You want that to be the HOST= value in the listener.ora and the HOSTNAME of your AGENT.
When you install the AGENT you will be prompted for the OMS hostname and port (like a TNS string) for your Linux 64bit Management Server box. -
Does anyone have a screen shot of the PERFORMANCE tab for 11g database control?
Couldn't find one online.Hi,
Then I think you need to download more of the Internet to your PC :-)
If I use Google, as http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=oracle+database+control+performance+tab then under the Google "Images" Tab there are lots of screenshots with the performance tab, along with the websites where they can be found like here: http://docs.oracle.com/html/B14338_02/admin.htm
However:
If you use Database Control on a Standard Edition database I'm wondering if the Performance Tab is actually shown.
In 11G Grid Control it is only available for Enterprise database WITH the Diagnostic Pack installed. For all other databases it is turned off.
And yes, I know you can turn it on, but then you're violating your license. Be aware of that !!!
Anyway, I doubt if you really, really searched online
Success!!

Problem setting up the Software Library in Grid Control
Hi,
I installed Grid Control version 10.2.0.2 and patched it to 10.2.0.4 (on Win2003 Server Enterprise Edition 32 bit). After the installation i was advised to configure/add the software library. So i did as it was specified:
"To configure the Software Library, click on the 'Provisioning' sub-tab and set the path for the Software Library from the 'Administration' page. After setting the path, run the following command from any one of the OMShosts: "${OMS_ORACLE_HOME}/bin/PARDeploy -action deploy -parDir ${OMS_ORACLE_HOME}/sysman/prov/paf -force" on Unix, or "${OMS_ORACLE_HOME}\bin\PARDeploy.bat -action deploy -parDir ${OMS_ORACLE_HOME}\sysman\prov\paf -force" on Windows."
The problem is that when i set the path under the 'Provisioning', i get the following message:
Successfully added Software Library Directory :
C:\OracleOEM\swlib\, but Par files deployment failed
And if i run the PARDeploy script, i get the following error:

Actually this is the same behavior as described in bug 6822086 on metalink - but I couldn't find any solution there. I also searched through the forum but couldn't find anything....
Thank you in advance for any answer/suggestion.
JureHi,
Issue solved. The workaraound was to manually upload the *.par files.
Procedure:
Under Deployments Tab click on the Provisioning Link in the Top Left section of the Page. In the Administration Tab go to the bottom and ensure that a location to the Software Library Configuration is setup. Then go back to the Deployments Page by clicking again the Deployments tab and click in Deployment Procedures link on the bottom. Using the 'Upload' button upload one at a time the files located under the OMS's $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/prov/paf directory.
Once all .par files are uploaded, all components, directives and deployment procedures should be visible from the Deployments tab in the Grid Control console.

Grid Control performance tab not available when on the target home of ASM
I noticed recently that the "Performance" tab/link is not available when you are using 10g Grid Control and you are on the home page of an ASM instance. Can this be explained?
Hi MarGur
I try to help you. The OEM Grid Control in some times not discover the Oracle 9i databases and you must to add manually.
First, check in your target machine that the user owner of agent software have rights of read and write in the ORACLE_HOME directories of Oracle 9i databases.
Go to Grid Control Console
Select Targets ---> Databases
Press Add --> Select the host ebisdb2.oneshield.com and press continue
The automatic discover process begin. When finished is very normal that nor discover the Oracle 9i databases. You press the Add manually button
in the page that appear you must entry all the configuration information of database:
ORACLE_HOME directory
DBSNMP USER
DBSNMP PASSWORD
HOSTNAME
PORT
SID
Check that the dbsnmp user in your database is unlock and press the TEST button to verify the connection work fine.
After this many windows appear of configuration process, and you will put the sys password and host credentials.
If you have problems, tell me

10g grid control. minimum DB privileges for database performance tab?
database -> performance tab -> log into database.
what are the minimum privileges needed for this? I normally use DBA privs. However, I need to give access to non-dbas. When I try to log in with their account, it says see the help. I have been hunting through the help, but can't find anything about this. This article may be of use: http://dbastreet.com/blog/?tag=grid-control
If you "grant select any table" (Query tables, views, or mviews in any schema) to the role oem_monitor you get what you want. Maybe an overkill but thats what I can think of now.

Performance reports using Grid Control
Hello!
Can we create and schedule database performance reports using oracle 10g grid control?
Thanks.Hi
Yeah its possible to generate the performance reports using Grid Control.
Ex:
Oracle Enterprise Manager GRID Server contains built in reports to support Database Administrators to generate sightly reports.
First Thing is to click to "Reports" tab on the top, right hand side of the GRID Management Console (figure_grid_management_console). This page is where all the predefined and custom reports can be find. Now click on the "Create" Button on top of the page to create a new custom report. "Create Report Definition" page comes to the screen. There are four tabs for the definition of the report. -
Oracle 9i Database -- Performance window in Grid Control not data available
Hi
I have Grid Control 10.2.0.4 on Red Hat and i monitoring some Oracle 9i Instances. When i go to any of these instances to the Performance section, at begininig , ever, not data available in all the graphics.
When i select manual refresh the graphic begin to build information. But if i close the explorer and reopen , all graphics not have any information.
Is the situation normal for all Oracle 9i databases?
The explanation is that Oracle 9i not have AWR ?
ThanksYou have too few RAM on your machine, even you could successfully create an instance, it's going to slow as hell.
When you run DBCA to create database, instead of actually creating the database you could choose to dump the SQL scripts and files used for database creation to a directory. This way will give you a chance to modify pfile and reduce the SGA parameter. I believe the default SGA of instance created by DBCA is already beyond your RAM limit. -

Historical Performance Information in Grid Control
We have EM Grid Control 10.2.0.3 monitoring a 9.2.0.7 database.
I am not able to see historical information past one day, especially on screen like "Active Sessions Waiting: User I/O". I checked that the statspack is running at level 6.
I would be extremely obliged if someone has faced this and resolved the issue.First, STATSPACK is independent of anything collected by OEM 10g. Also, STATSPACK collection levels refer more to how much detail is collected, not retention.
For OEM 10g, defaults are I believe - raw data 7 days, hourly 31 days, daily 1 year. If you want to look behind the scenes as if data is really there, check tables like sysman.mgmt$metric_hourly. -
Data Guard configuration for RAC database disappeared from Grid control

Oracle 10.1.0.1.0
Grid Control 10.2.0.1.0

After adding a logical standby database through Grid Control for a RAC database, I noticed sometime later the Data Guard configuration disappeared from Grid Control. Not sure why but it is gone. I did notice that something went wrong with the standby creation but i did not get much feedback from Grid Control. The last thing I did was to view the configuration, see output below.

Here are the steps followed to add the standby database in Grid Control
Maintenance tab
Setup and Manage Data Guard
Logged in as sys
Add standby database
Create a new logical standby database
Perform a live backup of the primary database
Specify backup directory for staging area
Specify standby database name and Oracle home location
Specify file location staging area on standby node
At the end am presented with a review of the selected options and then the standby database is created
Has any body come across a similar issue?
Thanks,Any resolution on this?
I just created a Logical Standby database and I'm getting the same warning (WARNING: No credentials available for target ...) when I do a 'Verify Configuration' from the Data Guard page.
Everything else seems to be working fine. Logs are being applied, etc.
I can't figure out what credentials its looking for.
