GREAT SERVICE BY VERIZON

I know a lot of people post messages about negative experiences they may have had with Verizon but I just wanted to say how satisfied I was with the quick service we received from verizon after a big storm knocked out our cable, internet and phone.  The technician that came to fix our service called before he arrived, was friendly, helpful and made sure everything worked the way it should before he left our home.  The service we used before Verizon had technicians who looked like they were doing you a big favor by showing up and were anxious to get in and out as quickly as possible.  The telephone customer service representative for Verizon was also very helpful trying to troubleshoot our problem before it was determined that a technician needed to be dispatched.  Keep up the great work! I hope I won't need to call with any problems for a very long time!

That's usually the nature of the 'net where complaints and negativity are prevelant.   Most ppl don't post the positive but I'll add to your reply and do the same
I've been a Verizon customer for years and have had the same results.  The problems have been few and when I've called Verizon I've received prompt curteous service,
The last service call I experienced was a "freebie".  The tech isolated a problem inside my house that was traced to a device that was keeping my landline off-hook/in use.  After he isolated the issue he said "it's on the house".
I'm a 'net customer without FIOS TV at present and the 'net service has been virtually flawless at my house for years.  I have the 35/35 FIOS 'net package.
I've had friends visit who are in a section of my area (Dallas/FT Worth) that aren't serviced by FIOS and have to live with inferior 'net delivery.  When they see my PC's 'net response, their eyes tell the story
Thanks for posting.  It's a refreshing change to see a positive post on a 'net forum

  • Horrible Customer Service from Verizon and Anytime Assurian Insurance is a SCAM

I am posting this so everyone is aware how horrible the customer service has become at Verizon and the insurance replacement coverage offered.  Please read and BEWARE before purchasing this extended coverage as Verizon will NOT work with you!!
We have two phone lines and a tablet with service through Verizon and pad the anytime additional insurance through Verizon which is supposed to cover standard insurance PLUS extend the manufacturer warranty.  If the defect is due to manufacturer defect, then the replacement is supposed to be covered without a deductible.
So now, the recap of the horrible experience we have been through .....
My husband has an Iphone 4s that had the power button on the top of the phone fail.  The button does not press on/off correctly.  He contacted Verizon and they put him through to the diagnostic time to approve or deny the replacement under the extended warranty.  He contacted the tech and described the problem.  The tech advised him to check all of the water indicators on the phone.  The top one for the headset jack is slightly pink and the other indicators are completely white.  The tech advised him they could send him a replacement phone and then he would send in his old phone for evaluation and he would know in about 6 weeks if he would be charged a deductible.  He then spoke with Kiera (sp??) who advised him to have the phone checked by Apple Genius Bar.
He took the phone to Apple.  They advised the phone is in great condition and that if he had purchased the extended Apple Care instead of Verizon's Assurian Insurance they would cover it with no deductible.  The stated the reason the phone was not functioning was clearly related to a manufacturer defect and wrote on their assessment paper they gave him that the phone is in great condition.  They stated by indicated that water damage is indicated by all three indicators being tripped -- NOT just the top one.  The rep then walked outside with my husband and said it's raining so Verizon would now void the warranty part and make him pay a deductible since Verizon is being nit picky.
We then went to the local Verizon store.  The rep and the store manager looked at the phone and stated the top is tripped so the insurance department will call it water damage and not honor the manufacturer defect.  I stated that it seemed like they were finding a loophole out of the insurance coverage for the extended warranty part and making the customer pay a deductible.  The  manager then stated "other carriers would screw you the same way."  REALLY -- THAT'S THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WE PAY INSURANCE FOR???!!!!!????
So, we called and spoke with a really nice customer service rep (Suzette) who stated unfortunately it was not her department but that she would send a message to have Kiera call us back.  That was a week ago and NO CALL BACK FROM KIERA.  Again, this is the customer service we pay for???
So, we called today and spoke with another rep and a manager.  The manager again stated we could send in the phone and it's 50/50 if they will charge the deductible.  She stated Apple should honor even though he is outside Apple Care if it is their defect.  I asked isn't that what we pay them for??  She stated they will look at the indicator and call it water because she Googled it --- apparantly Google knows more than the Apple Genius Bar on their own product!  I even offered to fax the paperwork from Apple.  My husband offered to send them the phone and have them evaluate it before they send out the replacement so he's not taking a risk on paying the deductible.  I asked the manager to email me her contact info.  She indicated she would ... 2 hours later, no email.
So, my husband that is up for an early upgrade but wants to wait until he's eligible for the Edge program (in which he would pay unsubsidized prices for phones to upgrade early -- and give them more money for phones) is stuck with having to decide to continue to use his prior phone that works or risk having to pay $200 for a deductible because they have stated they will look at the indicator and even if it's unrelated, call it water damage.
We are seriously looking at cancelling our coverage and just going to another carrier.  Because in the end, phones and service are similar, so you really pay for the customer service you get.  Or in this case, the lack of follow up, loopholes in their program, and lack of customer service.  I am thoroughly disgusted that I have paid Verizon for their service for 10+ years and have always paid for insurance without ever having to use it before --- and this is what we get.

It's not really a loop hole.. if the indicator is pink what do you want verizon to do? Google it, a lot of people on all carriers have been charged for returning a phone with just one indicator showing water damage with iphones.. This is what insurance is for, you pay a deducible instead of full retail. I think you are hung up on thinking the apple rep didn't lie to you, it's easy to say whatever you want when you know you won't be held accountable for it. I mean verizon is a service provider, maybe you should buy your phones from manufacturers if you think you get a better deal
Have you tried to reset the phone via itunes? Not likely a software issue, but i've seen stranger things with iphones.

  • Home Phone Service via Verizon Wireless needs some SERIOUS rethinking!

Has anyone else signed up for home phone service over Verizon Wireless?
Here in LA, they offered a $19.99/month deal using the wireless service - a box provides the service, and you plug your home phone in. The service is adequate, but somebody forgot to think about how home phones work. I tried to get my billing set up through my bank, and after getting no notice for three weeks, I got a message in my email box that my bill was delinquent, and I owed a late fee. I had tried to set up the billing via My Verizon, but could never get a password to work. I finally got a phone number to call, and they sent me a new password via text message - to a home phone with no text capabilities. After hearing and seeing nothing for another two weeks, I called again, and they told me they'd sent the message. I had to remind them that this was a home phone - no texts. So they offered to send me a letter with a new password, within 7-10 ten days. It arrived two weeks later, and didn't work. Each of these phone calls took about an hour, and I still didn't have a connection.
I put the bills (now up to two delinquent cycles) on my credit card, just to bring thins current, and got one more password. This time I called BEFORE trying it, and with the assistance of a more determined tech, got an ID and password combination to work. I can now see my bill. I still don't know if the autopay will work, and I have no idea if there's any way to get a notice that the bill wasn't paid.
I cancelled my AT&T service because of its cost, but at least its billing worked. Verizon has some serious rethinking to do about how it's billing system works for home users. And they didn't lock me into billing hell for two years.
The topper is, today, I got a notice from Verizon that I've been delinquent in returning a refurbished instrument I never received, billed to a phone number I don't have. And of course there's no phone number to call to straighten it out.

        Hello KeyGroupGJ!
Wow, Im sorry for all the issues you have had with the Home Phone Connect service! I'd really like to assist you. You mentioned that there is no number to call to get this straightened out. No worries, there is no need to call us, since I can reach out to you. Please send me a direct message with your name, your mobile number, and a good contact number for you. I'll be happy to assist you!

  • SERVICE UPDATE - Verizon using FIOS customer data to sell Online ads?

    Dear Valued Customer,                                                                                                                   en español
Your privacy is an important priority at Verizon.  We want to let you know that Verizon will soon participate in a program that will improve the ability of advertisers to reach our Verizon Online customers based on your physical address.  The goal is to provide online ads that may be more relevant to you.
This program uses your address to determine whether you reside in a local area an advertiser is trying to reach.  However, Verizon won’t share your address with advertisers as part of this process.  Advertisers won’t know it’s you specifically or where you actually live.  If you do not want us to allow advertisers to send you ads based on your geographic area you can let us know by selecting here.
What does this mean for you?
Certain ads you’ll see while browsing the Internet may be directed to you and other Verizon Online customers in your area, so these ads may be of more interest to you.  For example, a pizza chain may want to deliver their ad to give a special offer to people living in a particular area.  Using this program, national brands and local businesses can tailor their offers, coupons, and incentives to your local area.
    Protection of Your Personal Information
Verizon protects your personal information as described in our privacy policy.  You can learn about Verizon’s ad practices or let us know that you do not want to participate by selecting here.  If you don’t want to participate, you will need your User ID and Password to access the opt-out page.  Please note that declining to participate won’t impact the number of ads you see, just their potential relevance to you.

  • Great Service, Microsoft

    I am a paying customer.
Paying - that means I pay MY money for a service. MY money which pays for things like non-existant client support.
The service I pay for is phone accesss. So how come I am forced to download updates, all of which since Skype 3 have concentrated on making the phone experience worse?
I have followed all the steps suggested, and yet I am STILL nagged every time I start Skype to so called "upgrade".
Just let me have what I pay for - a reliable, audible PHONE service.

  • Where can I make a complain about customar service for Verizon Wirless?

I want to make a a complain about customar service for Verizon Wirless, yet it seems impossible to find a form or an email address, this is really frustrating. I am abroad since june 2013 yet I am still being charged for something and each time I call Verizon I am told the payment is going to be delayed. Each time it never is and I have to make additional 5 phone calls for somebody to take down the payment. This time I was told if I pay my $100 due amount, I am going to be billed $50 and in few days payment will go down to $20, so my total balance will be $20 to pay. On the phone I asked a supervisor 5 times if that is acuurate and he said yes. Of course the bill of $50 never went down and calling Verizon Wireless I just heard that although phones are recorded there is nothing they can do about what that representative told me. I was mislead yet again, If I knew it's $150 I would prefer close my contract with Verizon. Never again I am going to be a Verizon customer, if misleading customers is a way at Verizon I do not want to be customer.

  • Did you get great service?

I am suprrised because I did get great service.
At the Genius bar I was very impressed and relieved to have my problem solved. Most customer service means the employee has no decision making capabilty and you are trapped by the process. Here they quickly checked to make sure my iPhone was broken and then gave me a new one as it was under warranty. How simple and reasonable a solution and yet most other firms would not do this - you get the run around. My compliments for keeping your word for a brand that stands behind great quality!

I've had 4 iPhone replacements and the longest appointment lasted 15 minutes because I got a new guy who had to ask questions to another genius. All the questions were related to their system rather than to me, so I just sat there and setup the new iPhone.
Just make an appointment to make it go quickly.

  • If you have a smart phone, can you conect it to the new wrieless ipad's or do you need to order the wireless service from verizon?

If you have a smart phone, can you connect it to the new wireless ipad's or do you need to order the wireless service from Verizon for ipad's or do you need to order the wireless service from verizon?

    Kneehightoughguy,
You do not need to purchase service from a carrier unless you want to utilize the iPads connection to a 3G Network on it's own (directly).  You may choose to add a Tethering plan onto your existing cell phone plan and to have an iPad connect to the Wifi connection that the Tethered phone would offer.
Always compare your usage and your costs, as your mileage may vary.

  • We used to have great service, now it sucks! Constantly dropping calls, dead areas that have never been dead. Getting fed up and getting no help from Verizon.

This is really getting old, no help from Verizon. Service was great 2 years ago now it sucks, Constantly dropping calls, dead areas where there used to be fine. What is verison doing to help this???

I have an iphone 5s, my husband has a casio, my sister in law has a Samsung, my friends have various phones we are all experiencing the same thing – dropped calls, no service and it is outside as well as inside the house or the car. At our residence and along the drive to work or to the store. I don’t text much or use my data much so I am mostly concerned with the telephone service.

  • What happened to human decency in service at Verizon?

I have been speaking with Verizon Wireless Service since April about a phone that was lost in the mail.  I have talked with numerous agents, most recently (removed).  She was the most helpful, but has simply vaporized as they all seem to do.
I've been told I'd be called back, someone was working on my case, there are no managers who can assist, you need to mail the headquarters, etc.  Each time I have been patient and gone along.  Now I'm furious.  No one has solved the problem or even offered to help.  The old Verizon would have looked at my record as a customer, realized that I was a great family customer now and simply waived the fee.
The new Verizon keeps sending me around to other people who start at the beginning and don't have any decision making authority.  If this is really what Verizon thinks of its customers, then it might be time for a switch.
I sent a letter to the address list on the web site (great customer service for a phone company) and no one responded.  This is how I'd expect a low-cost carrier to treat someone, not a Verizon customer.
I'd like to speak with a human being with decision-making authority.  Please read my case number before calling.  I've repeated it a few dozen time in the last few months.  Better yet, simply eliminate the payment from the bill.
    Have others experienced this behavior?
    Thanks,
    Rick

  • NEED TO SPEAK WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE REP -- Verizon sent my bill to collections

My name is Timothy.  I would like to dispute a Verizon Wireless debt on a closed account.  The account in question was opened in July of 2011 and suspended over the phone, due to unemployment, in the year 2013. Prior to the suspension of the aforementioned account, I was current on all payments, not once having any late payments associated with the account.  I was told that suspending the account could be handled easily over the phone, however, I was uninformed at the time that the suspension of an account was only allowed for a certain amount of days before the account resumed repayment.  I received no verbal, or written communication (e.g. bills, letters, e-mails) to inform me that the account had been resumed, so a debt continued to collect with the Verizon account without my knowledge.  The phone never had service, even while I was apparently being charged, so I assumed my account was still suspended. I only became aware of this debt when I viewed my credit report through Credit Karma. Once discovering the debt, I then purchased a full credit report through all three credit bureaus and found that I have a debt to Verizon Wireless totaling $607.00 for the account in question.  I now have a derogatory mark on my credit report, due to a bill that I did not know existed. I then attempted to contact a Verizon representative in order to dispute the charges, and I was unable to reach a human representative.  I did however find the address for the Verizon Wireless NRO. I sent a my dispute letter March 30th, 2014, and have yet to hear from a representative.  Therefore, I would like to request that I be contacted about the debt to discuss my options. I would prefer to speak to a person, rather than be shuffled around electronically or on the customer service line. Please help ASAP, as this is greatly affecting my credit, and thus various aspects of my life. I know that if I post my phone number on this forum that it will be edited out, so if any representative can email me, I will gladly provide my contact information as well as my account number (which I just found today by using a loophole I found on this forum to reach a human representative on the phone by calling the main customer service line, pressing 6, and then pressing 4.) Please make this process easier for me than it has been, as I am very displeased with the customer service I have received so far. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from a representative.

Elector, I have seen you posting similar things to other posts throughout this forum. While I appreciate that you are trying to help, it seems that you did not read the entirety of my post.
I received no communication regarding this bill. Nor did the representative I spoke to about suspending the account tell me that there was a time frame for suspension. Nor was I informed that there is suspension with billing. There were absolutely no letters, no phone calls, and no emails about the charges, or about my account being sent to collections. The phone had no service, so I was unaware that it was continuing to be billed. It doesn't make much sense to be billed for a phone that I cannot use.
I do not appreciate you attempting to discredit my post (and others like it) by telling me there is absolutely nothing that can be done, when I have seen others in this forum, with the exact same problem, who have had their issues resolved. I will be persistent in finding resolution for this issue, because Verizon was not persistent in contacting me, despite the fact that I was a loyal customer who was always current on their bill until the suspension. Regardless, Verizon should have contacted me to tell me the bill was not in suspension anymore, and I would have gladly paid the bill, as I had with every bill prior to that. The issue is not non-payment, the issue is their lack of communication with their loyal customers.
People who try to invalidate customer complaints (without complete information on the matter) are the reason that Verizon can get away with negligent customer service, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate it if you would only post in this forum if you have ACTUAL assistance to offer. Again, thank you for your help but I would prefer to speak to a Verizon Representative about this matter.

  • Great Service From Tech Support Adam #974024

This is a long one but to the point and thanks for taking the time to read!
Yesterday I spoke with 3 separarate Customer Service Agents at 3 separate times. No one knew the problem with my set-top box. Each rep kept sending my ticket issue to tech support, video groups, did power resets. Which is fine but none of these steps nor departments were able to solve my Fios problem.
Later on that evening I was contacted by tech Adam, which he as well asked me the same questions the 3 other agents had asked me earlier in the day. At that moment, I said to myself "Here we go again". As I sat and watched DVD's in the absence of my cable service I heard clicks and my set top box flickering messages and finally the time stamp displayed and all was good in the world. Cable was FINALLY back on!!
Seconds later I got a call back from the intelligent, troubleshooter Adam. He listened to my story and actually analyzed what I said and came up with an answer. Why couldn't the other 3 agents that spoke with tech support/video group earlier in the day figure this out.
We are all human but I felt that I needed to express the quickness and great satisfaction that I have experienced. Overall, the situation was rectified within 24 hours but the service received from Adam was most pleasurable. Not only because he was the tech that fixed the problem. But because he actually had a brain and let me know what his thought process was in coming to a solution.
For all you other verizon customers that have the problem with having your Fios suspended. Please let the tech know that he/she needs to also send a message not only to the set top box in your living room but to the other box (forgot the name) that is outside the house. MAybe its called the video box?
Again, thank you for taking the time to read this!

Wow, what a great experience! It's what we all expect of Customer Service and rarely get, so it is nice to know that Apple can do it.
