Great work by Oracle,but support is now really bad

I greatly appreciate the work done by Oracle and its developers and the good support which they provided until 6 months ago. I am referring to the VSM (Mall) application. I have posted several times regarding some problems in the application after that. No response. Support is now totally nil. Neelesh, Venky and his team gave me such terrific support before, but I do not see them anylonger.
I feel stuck and lost. Oracle is to be commended for such a nice application, but it will be great that Oracle continues its good work by good support. If somebody can help me out with the Admin Client part of VSM, i would be really grateful.
Then maybe I can voluntarily offer some support for the the VSM application on behalf of Oracle.

To be accurate, that team was re-assigned to development. Try posting questions regarding sample code to the JDeveloper forum: JDeveloper and ADF

If your external drive does not have an independent power supply, you may wish to consider a couple of lower-cost options before tossing the drive. Bus-powered drives have no external power source and must get all their power from the computer. They can exceed the computer's USB energy budget.
Cheapest option:
1 Meter USB 2.0 A to 5 Pin Mini B Cable - Auxiliary USB "Y" Power Design for external hard drives.
This gets power from two of the computers USB porst sna can provide enough power to wake up an under-performaing bus-powered drive.
If you don't have enough ports to use this, try the next cheapest option:
Newer Technology 7 Port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter for Mac & PC
Such a hub has a an independent power supply to make up for wahat the comptuer fails to provide.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Oracle Production Support Roles and Responsibilities

I am currently working in Application Support from past 4 years and I have applied for a opening in Oracle Production Support environment and it is different from DBA.
So far i have never worked in Oracle Production Support so i am curious to know what exactly the roles and Responsibilities for this position.
What kind of issues comes and how to troubleshoot them?
I actually need to understand the nature of this job in detail and few interview questions that can be asked for this position.

And so it is with job titles. Any given job title means only and exactly what the organization chooses it to mean -- "neither more nor less".
Even though we work in a technical industry, not every term you see has a universal, fixed, immutable, technical meaning. Not even close.
My first two jobs in IT were in shops that had exactly the same set of job titles for Programmers --
- Programmer/Analyst I
- Programmer/Analyst II
- Programmer/Analyst III
In one shop, the Programmer/Analyst III was the most junior of the three.
In the other, the Programmer/Analyst III was the most senior of the three.
So, you tell me, what is a "Programmer/Analyst III"? What is a "development DBA"? What is a "production support DBA"?

No app is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

Sounds like your iPhone is locked to the wireless carrier you used
in Bahrain. Contact that wireless carrier to see if they offer unlocking
and if you qualify. Only the carrier to which the iPhone is locked
can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Remember that the warranty is not international. You will have to
return the iPhone to Bahrain for repair/replacement if it needs service.

Now locate the AirPort Express about half way between the AirPort Extreme and the general area where you need more wireless signal coverage, and report on your results.
The more that you can minimize obstructions between the AirPorts like walls, ceilings, etc. the better the wireless will operate.

IR sensor worked last week, but not now.

I did have Plex installed and that had been taking over my infrared signals to the point which I could not control anything else. I tried installing remote buddy so that I could use the apple remote to control vlc. This didn't work either until I renamed my plex folder located in application support, even after turning the remote input off in the Plex settings. Anyway, after everything working fine for about two weeks, now all of a sudden the remote will not work. I have tested on a macbook and it works fine, have tried it with remote buddy while off and then while on, and it does show up under usb under system profiler so I know the IR sensor is at least still recognized by the system. It also no longer shows a remote as being paired in sys preferences > security, which is a new development, and it also will not allow me to successfully re-pair the remote. Is there any way to find out which programs are actively using the IR sensor, or any way to test it's functionality? I am under the assumption that if it shows up in sys profiler than it is most likely a software issue. I tried creating a new user, but unfortunately I apparently had installed quite a few programs for all users, so it doesn't really give me a clean slate for testing. Any new ideas are much appreciated.

My only success with passthrough today was with the xbmc live cd, I haven't had any success with killing pulseaudio either? I'v tried pasuspender which seems to temporarily disable pulseaudio however no succes. I also found this on the pulseaudio mailing list https://tango.0pointer.de/pipermail/pul … 05179.html

Oracle 9i Support for multi language is not working.. Giving question mark

We have an application which uses oracle 9i as the database. Riight now we are supporting only english and there is a requirement to support multiple languages like korean, chineese and japaneese.
But we are planning to migrate one part of the application to support multi languages. Means it may affect around 10 tables but with huge data. Totally we have around 100 tables.
How to enable the database for supporting multiple langugages.?
Is there any way to enable only the few tables supporting multiple languages. Because if we change the database level parameters for supporting languages, we may need to migrate entire tables. this will be a huge task.
Even if want to set the parameters for supporting multiple languages.. how to set it. Is it possible set it in the existing database or do we need to re-create the table with these prameters.
I have read in some documentation, that we can create table columns with nVarchar2 for supporting multi languages. I have created it. but if i copy some other language characters into those columns, it is giving question mark.
Is it possible to do search using text in native langugage like chineese..
Could somebody guide me on the above clarificationa and what would be the best approach..

You should not use any more Oracle 9.0.1 but at least Oracle 9.2.0.8 to get some extended support if you really cannot upgrade to 10g.

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

It worked with the previous Firefox version but now when I use the internet, it doesn't even acknowledge I have the scanner. When I run my finger over it, it opens the settings panel but does not allow use of the already saved information or allow new information to be entered. I need this corrected. Any suggestions?

Try this even if you have already. Just make sure to follow the steps specifically.
Go to settings > Facetime > send and recieve > tap on your apple id and sign out. If your not signed in then that will work as well.
Go to settings > Messages > sent and recieve > tap on your apple id and sign out.
Restart the iPad by doing the slide to power off setup. Just hold the power button on the top right till it turns off.
After the iPad has been restarted:
Go to settings > Facetime > and sign in
Go to settings > Messages > and sign in
Wait about 3 min then restart the iPad again. Same instructions as above.
When you restart you should be able to use messages again. If not then call support again and talk to someone higher than the first level support they have.

If the icon is hidden behind another, or if it's available inside the Customize mini window, you can place it back. If the problem persists, you can also try to '''Reset toolbars and controls:''' and '''Make Changes and Restart''' [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode] start screen.
