Guided Procedure Visual Approval Question

Hi,
I'm developing an action that call a Visual Approval user interface.
I have 3 questions:
1) When I click in Approve or Reject button the action is completed and this message is displayed:
(information icon)Action has been completed
I want to display a screen like a summary screen with the information about each step. It's possible with standard templates like Visual Approval?
2) If I click in Reject button, where I know that these action was repproved?
3) Can I get the buttons (Approve or Reject) value in another screen (like grouping parameters)?
Thanks,

Hi Manoel,
1.After the visual approval CO is executed the screen will be only as you specified, it is predifined and you cannot change it.If you want to display some summary you got to create another CO and add it in the same block and the result state of the Visual approval should be assigned to the new CO for display.
2 . Upon clicking the reject button the control will flow to the action specified in the result state of the reject button.
3. Instead on using a Visual approval if you use a webdynpro CO this is possible. While setting the result state you can set the value as the out put of the co and do parameter mapping to get it in the next CO.
Let us know the result....

  • Guided Procedure - How to customize.

    Hi all,
I need some information guided procedures.
I have a standard guided procedure to approve the compensation adjustment (HR)
I have to "customize" it in order to send an email before the procedure is  completed. The effect of the procedure is the approving of comp.adj, so its status is changed to approved. I would also like to insert also a workflow task (on ECC) before the status changes. Can you help to understand:
-if it is possible to customize a standard guided procedure?

  • Using FLEX Visual Composer iViews in Guided Procedures and the UWL

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to display a GP workitem and I am getting this error
"The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available."
I have a GP Process and it haves FLEX Visual Composer iView, it runs fine un the Runtime workbench from Guided procedures Role, but when I configure de GP UWL Connector and try to open a GP workitem with a VC FLEX iView i got the error "The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available."  Guided procedures with webdynpro iView works fine.
    I have a NW 7.0 SP10
Could you please help me undertand what configuration I am missing??

  • Error when testing a Guided Procedure that use a Visual Composer UI

    Hello!
Trying to develop my first Guided Procedure in SAP NW CE 7.1 SR3.
I follow instructions that I earlier have used with CE 7.1 SP1 (in TechEd07), assuming no major changes from SP1 to SR3...
I have defined a Callable Object that is based on a Visual Composer UI.
The Visual Composer UI itself works fine when I test it in Visual Composer but when I try to test the Callable Object I get the following error message:
"Could not load execution container: Did not find active instance for component com.sap.caf.eu.gp.ui.co.wd4vc.exec.COExecWD4VC in running application."
When I click on the error message I get a lot of details of the underlying Java exception:
"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot find view element with ID 9NEfbfuapOdP8O4KnmM19Q in application com.sap.caf.eu.gp.dt.workset.AppWorkset with namespace null"
    (skipped all details...)
Have I missed some step (development or configuration) that is new in CE 7.1 SR3 compared to CE 7.1 SP1?
I have tried to read through the available on-line help but can't find anything that seems to differ...
Are there any examples/tutorials available for CE 7.1 SP3?
    Thanks for your help,
    Magnus.

    Hello Dipankar!
Thanks for trying to help me out!
I'm unfortunately having problem with finding the choice "Add Guided Procedure Information" in the options menu in VC.
I have looked in the menu "Tools --> Options" but failed to find this choice.
Is this choice maybe changed in SAP NW CE 7.1 SR3?
Regarding running the VC component as a stand-alone application I can launch the component from VC after deployment and it works fine both as HTML and Flex (I really like the Flex - version :-)!
But if you mean something else with running it stand alone please direct me to some doc-url so I can learn how to do that!
    Best Regards,
    Magnus.

  • Question to Guided Procedures

    Hello,
in our company I'm evaluating WFM-Tools.
I have two questions about Guided Procedures:
    (1) Is it possible to delete entities of a running process in the CAF Guided Procedures? To stop a process is no problem, but I didn't solve to delete them completely.
(2)Is it possible to escalate dates in a process?
I would be very glad, when someone give me some links, informations, documents e.g. for implementing Composite Applications and Guided Procedures.
    Thanks a lot
    Steve Mussdorf

    Hi Steve,
In addition to the link that Srini gave, you can check the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/39/198141f906040de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">GP documentation</a>.
To your questions - the functionality to delete process instances is not yet available but will come soon.
Changing the process due date is possible using the so-called process control items. See the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/42/cec68872c56baee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm">docu</a>.

  • Email on Visual Approval and offline form as attachment in UWL

    Hello,
I have a process which is like this
    1) User to fill a form which on submit will go for approval.
    2) On approval or rejection a mail to be sent to the person who submitted the offline form
    I have done the following
    1) Create a offline form which will intiatiate the Visual Approval process . This sends out the approval/rejection work item to UWL . But the "From" field in UWL for the task item is "CAF SAP user"
I need to know how to do the following
    1) What i need to do is on approval or rejection, some how capture the user who submitted the offline form and then send him an email.
    2) Also, if possible on submit of the offline form , i need the UWL task to contain the PDF attachment.
    3) How do i send an email on the result state in Visual approval ? There are two result states defined"Data is approved" and "data is rejected"  , but the "Target"  column doesnt have any options.
    Appreciate your help

    Is this possible ?
Edited by: Jayesh Ghodge on Jan 16, 2008 4:04 PM

I have set a callable object of background email type in the action which is mapped to a result state that it should sent out an email on approval or rejection.(target)
The block is executed successfully. but the email is not sent.
I tested the individual callable object alone and the email was sent out.
    I have two questions
    1) In visual approval where we define the email templates, can some it be a context parameter picked up from adobe form which contains email textfield ( this value will be whom the approval/rejection mail are sent) ?
    2) how do i pass parameters from Visual approval block to action of callable obect email type since it requires "recipeint email address"
    My process is like this
    Process -
    > Start process
        Block -->  Start block
           Action ---> StartAction
              Visual Approval Callable object
                   Result states
                         Approved --> (Target:ActionApproved)
                         Rejected  --> (Target:ActionRejected)
           ActionReject
                  Reject Email background Callable object
           ActionApprove
                  Approve Email background Callable object
The process is kicked off when user submits an offline form
Appreciate if someone can guide me on this.

  • How to pass tables in Guided Procedures from VC

    Hi experts!
I'am working in a workflow scenario, more precisely an approve-reject workflow scenario.
I've defined all the start and the end points belonging to the respective iviews (I mean the sender and the approver iviews), following the  [Modeling Visual Composer iViews for Guided Procedures|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/44/429bbd709914bce10000000a155369/frameset.htm]
and everything works ok if I pass input fields, data fields, or boolean fields.
But I need to pass tables (In fact, I need to pass MORE THAN ONE table)....  Is that possible?
    How do I make it?
Any help will be apprecieated and point-rewarded.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards,
    Marcelo
    P.S. I'm working on EP7 VC SP15

    Hi,
    If you'll create 2 iViews:
    1. Table connected to end point (all the fields are mapped and table selection mode is multiple)
    2. Table connected to start point with same fields.
and create GP process for it, you'll find that selecting all the fields and passing them will result with all the selected fields appear in the 2nd iView.
But, i don't know if you can pass the entire table automatically (without the user selecting all the records).
    Hope I helped,
    Shay

  • Online Adobe forms in Guided Procedures

    Calling SAP GP experts,
Has anyone been able to successfully implement online Adobe forms in a Guided procedures. If yes, can you share tricks involved..
The objective is to throw open an online Adobe form to the user to fill in.. The Adobe form will have pre-filled data (from previous Actions in the GP) and there will be the Approval process step after the form is filled...
    Cheers
    Nitesh

    Dear Alan,
Yes i have generated the form's submit URL... It works fine when the pdf is saved in the users desktop and upon clicking the submit button it kicks of a Process with a Visual Approval callable object..
However my requirement is that the Adobe form be submitted online during GP runtime.. The process is initiated by the User in the portal (not offline) who wants to put in a request. When the user initiates a process an Adobe form is opened to him in which he fills in his request. This request is then <b>forwarded for Approval</b>.. After Approval a digital signature need to be attached to the document and further on it needs to be sent out to other User Groups.. In case the request is <b>rejected</b> then the control goes back to the requestor who can either modify his request and send it again for approval or simply delete the request.. Throughout the whole process Print of the request can be taken at any time. Considering the requirements of Print & Digital signature i think using Adobe would be the way to go.. What do you think about implementing such a requirement in GP with Adobe UIs? Is it the right way of going about it?
Quite an interesting nut to crack.. Ain't it ??

  • Adobe Forms in Guided Procedures

    Hi all,
I have the 'My First Days' Guided Procedure assinged to a user and am trying to customize it for a demo. I am trying to display an adobe form in a separate section in the My First Days Procedure and so far have been able to configure the action and block in order to display the adobe form.
When i try to add the Adobe form as a 'Interactive form' type, it gives me an error saying 'Could not retrieve template fields: Wrong document format or adapter mismatch.'
I have checked the adobe configuration and it seems to be working fine. Can anyone tell me why i get this error and what is the best way to resolve this issue?
Also, if Adobe forms work fine for manager self service in our systems, should they work fine in the Guided Procedures too ?
    Thanks,

  • Guided Procedures - Integration of Webdynpro Java with Adobe Interactive fo

    Hi All,
We have created Webdynpro java application with Adobe interactive forms. It works fine in NWDS and also in Webdynpro Content Administrator.
When we have called this component in Guided Procedures (callable object - Webdynpro (GP Interface)), the form screen has not displayed.
    Plz help us..

    Hi,
Scenario : User have to log into GP runtime, When he clicks the first action it should display the adobe form. He has to fill the details and submit the form. This form is routed for Approver 1 for review. The first approver will log into portal, view it (UWL),approve it and sent for second approver. The same process happens with the second approver. After both approvals, a BAPI updates the data in the interactive form in R/3
All the process have to be done in Guided Procedures, then integrated with Portal at the end.
We have tried creating an Wdynpro Java app with online adobe form and executed successfuly in NWDS and also in Webdynpro content administrator.
    issue:-
When we create a callable object(webdynpro app(gp interface CO)) in GP and test, we were unable to view the form.
Now our question is : what are we mising ?
Is it possible to integrate online interactive adobe form with guided procedures?
Is our approach to solve the scenario right?
any links or tutorials will be greatly appreciated
    TIA,

  • Configuration of Guided Procedures for Adobe Forms

    Hi all,
we are about testing the Guided Procedures with Adobe Forms.
I found 3 documents here in SDN:

My problem now is the configuration and the understanding of the "Web Service Security" in the Visual Administrator.
In the mentioned guides above it is written to choose "SLD" for the URL and the following three values under "Synchronize with System Landscape":
    System Name:
    WS Name:  {com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices}{AdobeDocumentServicesAssembly.jar}
    WS Port:  {com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices}{AdobeDocumentServicesAssembly.jar}ConfigPort_Document
    Now my questions:
    1. According to the guides it seems that the ADS must be installed on the same J2EE where the central SLD is running. Is that a must? I don´t hope so!
    2. What do I have to take for ? The SID and machine of the SLD or of the J2EE where the ADS is installed (this would be my own Portal)?
    3. My portal is of version Netweaver2004s SP10, my SLD ist of version 6.40 SP18.
Could this be a problem here?
    Thanks,

  • Use of Aris models for Guided Procedures or VC possible

    Hi,
I know that Aris can export BPEL for importing to XI.
What are the capabilities of using Aris for NetWeaver to model for more UI-oriented processes.  Is it possible to use ARIS models for GP or Visual Composer?
    Thanks.
    Dick

    Hi David,
The answer to your 1st question is NO. Till NW 7.1, there is no clue on this.
To your 2nd question, there is no noticable enhancement on the GP side in NW 7.1. You can refer to the Developers Guide -> Developing and Composing Applications -> Designing Composite Processes with Guided Procedures section in  <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/D958673EF05F4DE10000000A11466F/frameset.htm">SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment Library</a> for further reference.
    Hope this helps.
Finally I fully agree with you regarding XI and GP.

  • EP Guided Procedure via Mobile Devices

    Hello,
We are on EP7.0 and are implementing a PO approval workflow via Guided Procedure using Visual Composer.
This workflow can have one or more approval levels.
We are setting up email notifications for the various approval steps such that cooresponding approvers can approve through Microsoft Outlook Emails.
However there is also a requirement for approvers to be able to approve via their Mobile devices like Blackberry, Apple iPhone etc.
What is the best way to go about doing this?
    regards,
    Atul

    Hi Atul,
You can use the Web approach as stated in the previous posts or you can develop your own "native" application for BlackBerry using the [Guided Procedures (GP) API |http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/current/gp/index.html].
You could for instance create SOAP or REST Web Services and then consume theses Web Services with the mobile client.
